Album #1 Serviceable dad rock. Its not that its bad but it just doesn't have that many memorable riffs or melodies for me (except for "Its The End Of The World As We Know It"). Also have never been a fan of Michael Stipe's vocals before I listened to a full R.E.M. album, and I'm still not a fan after listening to this thing for at least 3 times. I appreciate how the album doesn't overstay its welcome and held the runtime just under 40 minutes. There was some cool experimentation on tracks such as "Fireplace" with the horns (although sometimes they felt a bit out of place on the track) and "King of Birds" brought in a dulcimer which gave it a bit of a folk rock feel. In conclusion I feel pretty neutral about “Document” It’s kinda just a standard alt-rock album I can throw on in the background and enjoy without second thought. Favorite track: It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Album #2 What an amazing start to a legendary band. Still think they have better albums (Led Zeppelin IV) but when this came out in 1969 few were as heavy and hard rocking as this. Although there is great material on here, I wish some songs were cut a couple minutes, songs such as "You Shook Me" and "How Many More Times" meander a bit too much and don't deserve their song length. Other than that, I don't really have any complaints. Everyone's performance on this project is amazing but Jimmy Pages bluesy riffs and John Bonhams frantic yet disciplined drumming are the big standouts. Favorite Track: Dazed and Confused
Album #3 Indie rock is really not a genre I find a lot of interest in so this really didn't do much for me. I feel like I have heard these same drowsy vocals on pretty much every other indie rock album I've given a listen. Most of the album feels like a blur to me and I really cant remember any interesting or intriguing moment. Overall it was a pretty boring couple listens but it wasn't insultingly bad to deserve the lowest score. Favorite Track: I'm the Man Who Loves You
Album #4 Out of all the Judas Priest albums to choose for this list I feel that British Steel was the obvious choice but not the best. Sure it has classic bangers like "Breaking the Law" and "Living After Midnight" which were some of their most successful and accessible songs, but a lot of the material here feels like filler and by far has more filler than any other priest album I've listened to. Even if it does have some filler on the track list, its still a fun ride but this would not be the album id choose to introduce someone to the band as the material on a lot of their other albums beats this out. Favorite Track: Grinder
Album #5 I usually prefer my punk to be angrier but this is a fun little album. Its more on the pop side of punk so it pretty formulaic. It never quite reaches the catchiness of an album like the Ramones self titled but if you want to dive deeper into the British side of pop punk id give it a listen. The song "Start!" interpolates the riff from The Beatles song "Taxman" which actually works its way very well into a punk track. Overall give this a listen if you want to dig deeper into the more commercial sound of punk but its not really pushing any boundaries. Score: A low to decent 3 out of 5 Favorite Track: Start!
Album #6 First time listening to a full grunge album (believe it or not) and what a good start. You got your heavy power chord driven bangers like “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Lithium” while also having more mellow and melodic tracks like “Polly” and “Something in the Way”. My favorite track would have to be “Come As You Are” which starts on this simple but addicting guitar riff, but builds up the intensity onto the second half of the track and introduces the power chords.

Wu‐Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta Fuck Wit
(Message to the people who made the original list even though they will never read this) I'm in full support of instrumental hip hop being on this list but why this pick specifically? You choose this over Donuts by JDilla one of the most influential hip hop albums of all time? You could of even choose one of the million instrumental compilations from MF Doom and that would of been more of a valid pick than this. Not even a bad record its just that its not an essential.

This album has a giant armored armadillo with tank treads and cannons as the album art. At least a 8/10 for that alone.
Never knew The Shockmaster made a folk record. Pretty good.
So instead of Ram, Toxicity, Discovery, Pinkerton, The Black Parade, and absolutely no Ween we get this laughably bad shitty generic 80s glam record. Great.
