Favorite of the American series. Iconic cover of Hurt, video is one of the all time best.

Enjoyed it more than I expected. Don’t agree with the high rating it gets on lists like these.

Bubble gum pop from British Invasion. Lacks the weight or grit of other bands from the time. Not a bad listen, good background music. Time of the Season still sounds fantastic. The rest varies.

Great find. I love Back to Black, but never listened to Frank before. Excellent band. Love the track order, funky, complex songs.

Dislike. Hard to get through.

Couple good guitar riffs. Lots of extra noise. I get Blur and Sublime confused for some reason. Oasis is better than both!

Happened to listen to Odelay and this over the last few days. It’s crazy how different they are. I like Odelay better, but there are some really solid, although somber, songs on Sea Change.

Love this one. Big headspin from Sea Change. Great and under appreciated by the Temptations.

Classic. Half the tracks were monster hits. The other half were new to me. A couple clunkers which kept it from a 5. Still can’t hear Bad without thinking of Weird Al in a giant fat suit.

Good one, especially for a Friday. Not my favorite Curtis Mayfield, but very good.

4.5. Classic Sinatra. Doesn’t have too many of his best known songs, but they’re all good.

More upbeat than I expected. X/O is the only Elliott Smith I heard before and that’s pretty depressing. This is a solid 3. Nothing all that memorable about it, but a decent listen.

This is one of those albums that takes me back to a specific time and place. UD dorm rooms, Chappelle Show reruns, Strongbad clips, and weekday video game tournaments. All time classic!

Love how the Temptations went into a funkier direction. I prefer the next couple albums, more Papa was a Rolling Stone, but this is a fun listen.

Enjoyed much more than I expected. Very cool blending of different genres. Clear that this album influenced a lot of 90s bands.

A little disappointed. I like some of their other albums, but this one seems more like generic rock. Not sure why this one ended up on the list.

Surprised that I liked it. Not a Bjork fan, but the music was decent and had a few songs I dug.

Reminded me of the Queens album we just heard. I think influential, but not great. I can hear a lot of late 80s and 90s bands in the music. But not something I’d come back to.

Rounding up from 2.5. Blue must just be a band that missed me. I couldn’t get into this beyond a couple songs. And the Spotify version is over 2 hours. Not sure if that includes demos and outtakes, but a lot of the songs seemed unfinished.

Surprised that I liked this. Not normally an Arcade Fire fan.

Just can’t get into that 80s production.

As good as it gets. My only criticism is that it’s too short. I could listen to this for hours.

4.5 rounding up. A couple covers that I wish were left off. But this is an incredible album. Hurt is the hit and highlight. Emotion that rarely comes through on record.

I’m not the biggest Elton John fan. But his first 3-4 albums are undeniable, capped off by this one. So many hits and a lot of the album cuts are strong too.

Never listened to Captain Beefheart before. I’d always heard he was pretty far out there. Some of this album is. But I found a lot of it to be interesting. Some very weird tracks I didn’t like that take it from a 4 to a 3 for me. Overall, a fun listen.

Nice discovery. Down to Zero is a standout, along with a couple others. No big misses.

Nice surprise. I’ve never listened to Aimee Mann that much, but really liked this one.

Hallelujah alone is worth the price of admission. I like his voice, but this time around he reminded me of the guy from Jesus Christ Superstar. Rounding up from 3.5

First timing hearing most of the album besides Blister in the Sun. Enjoyed it, would listen again. 3.5, rounding up.

Running Up That Hill is great. Nothing else does much for me.

Couldn’t do it. Like if the Talking Heads and Television were way worse.
