Some classic songs. Meh overall.
Music/beats are cool. Vocals not my thing.
Enjoyed the album, nothing remarkable tho.
Excellent sounding album.
My favorite part is reading the reviews. Either 5 or 1. People love or hate Dylan. I am in neither camp. I am indifferent. This album is ok.
Enjoyed this album, good vibes well written.
Rap rock before nu metal?
The ramblings of a mad man. It's a shame, the music and the production on this album are very good. The vocals ruin it.
A big album with big hits, a bit too long for my taste.
Funky goodness. I Only heard 4 songs from the spotify link, more tracks would be cool.
Good album, sounds ahead of its time. Not a fan of the vocal tone, too bland for my taste.
Cool vibe and an easy listen.
If you are looking for a blues album to listen too, this is definitely that. I have never been a blues fan so this album is not for me.
I don't care for the Doors much. I was hoping this album might get me into them. It did not. This album is ok.
This album literally gave me a headache.
The spotify album is full of AI tracks. I will have to revisit this one day if they ever clear that up. I liked what I heard of legit music.
*I listened on YouTube. Very cool album. I like the vibe and energy.
Prince is one of the greatest of all times. Not one of my personal favorites, but this album highlights his talents to the fullest.
Dated electronica that I am not sure was great when it was released. Middle of the road with no particular track jumping out.
Definitely not Queen's best album, bit there are a few highlights in this album. I bet this album gets better the more you listen to it.
Nice sounding album, but it falls a little flat for me. Seems to be one dimensional. Not my thing, I can appreciate the talent tho.
I am a fan of many bands in the genre, this is my first Dinosaur JR album that I have listened to front to back. It's pretty good, not the best this genre has to offer but it definitely belongs umoung it's peers.
Just seems like unorganized noise, a few cool guitar licks but this is ultimately a no for me dog.
Never heard of this band. I like it. Cool melodies and riffs. A little too brokenhearted for me, but 14 year old me would have spent hours with this album.
Never heard of this band or album and was presently surprised how much I enjoyed it. Smart writing and catchy licks.
I like it! I like the guitar tones and the vocals. I only ever heard Get Free but the rest of the album is just as strong
This album finally made Nick Cave click for me. Solid album front to back with some highlights for me being " Loon of the Land" and "Papa won't leave you, Henery".
A perfect album front to back.
This album is full of punk goodness. I can hear this bands influence on many bands and punk as a whole. Iggy is a legend and this album is shining moment for him.
This is as close to a modern day classic that I can think of. I think this album will stand the test of time. Many massive hits and great vocal performances. This isn't my type of music but I can appreciate the talent and the song writing.
Tom Waits has a swagger about him that is undeniable. I can't see myself putting this on randomly, but I do enjoy it. I probably won't spend much time with this album after this listen, but I do wonder if this would get better with time or is it just a novelty?
A lot of layers in this music. Takes a couple listens to unlock some of those layers. The compositions are beautiful. The performances leave something to be desired in my opinion, overall a good first outing for this group.
A lot of hits and A lot of filler. The hits are good enough to overlook the filler. Great Beatles album.
When I first listened to this I was really impressed with the musical depth by the band. The bass playing reminded me of Jaco and after doing some research it turns out it was him! I give this album a higher score than I probably would all do to the great musicians backing these mid vocals
This is one of those 5/5 Beatles albums. A must listen.
This album is not to my taste. Monotonous and boring is how I would describe it. Her voice is uninspiring. I can not tell when one song starts and one song ends. It's all the same. Not for me, respectfully.
I really enjoy the textures and tones on this album. No tracks jumped out at me, so it a fairly balanced album. Over all I didn't love it and I didn't hate it.
One thing I really enjoy about this 1001 album experience is the ritual. The ritual of getting an album, sometimes something completely new to me. I downloaded it and do some research and then sit down and listen front to back. This album slightly tainted that. Doing some research gave me the ick. The listening was not enjoyable. The vocals are rapey even without knowing what they meant. Knowing what they meant just made it that much more gross. I am giving this a 2 because the music is nice and well performed.
Well written, well performed and well produced. This album is a hit!
Hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Willie Nelson has 150+ albums and I haven't listened to an entire album of his until this one. I was not very impressed but I definitely didn't hate it. I look forward to hearing more Willie on this list.
This album is completely average.
The more I hear of the talking heads the more I enjoy them.such a fun original sound they have.
I don't have much experience with world music. The little I do know has not been my thing. This album has some cool moments and neat sounds. I hope this is a sign of things to come in the world music genre on this list.
I couldn't get this album on Spotify so I listened to their 1990 album Everclear. I like the vibe of this group. The vocals get a little repetitive, but enjoyable. I think I will dig a little deeper into their catalog.
I enjoyed the listen. I will forget all about it in a week. Nothing spectacular about it. Good enough.
Like everyone, I have heard the singles from this album too much. I have never listened to this album front to back until this list. This is a solid rock album. I forgot this was their debut. That makes it all the more impressive.
I was surprised that this band was more punk/glam than it was hair metal. Unfortunately it's bland punk and and bland glam. The drums in particular are a let down. Not particular interesting overall.
An album that perfectly captures the vibe of its decade.
Too brokenhearted, too whiny and too dull. I did not enjoy this. Just too much of the same. This review has so many too's so I guess this album gets a two.
One decent song doesn't make a good album even if it is 18 minutes long. This album and genre are not for me . Maybe if I was on drugs that might help.
Monk is up there with the jazz greats. This isn't my favorite album by him but it's always a treat to listen to a master.
I have never been able to get into Jimi Hendrix. This album didn't change that. I am happy it exists, but it's not for me.
This album hits all the high points for me. Sonicly massive. Great song writing. The performances from every member is raw and aggressive in the best possible way.
A little dated but the energy is great.
Energetic, electric and funky! I knew wars singles but have never listened to much else. I have been presently surprised.
A classic rap album with energy and a message. I don't think this album aged well but it is undoubtedly an album that has pioneered a sound that would carry throughout the 90s
I would never choose to listen to this but I am glad I did. Definitely a little dated but the beats are cool.
This album has some interesting moments. But ultimately fails to launch. Most of the songs start in one place and don't evolve much. There are a few ear worms both lyrically and in the instruments. This album is good. But I am left wanting more out of it.
This album is definitely not peak Bruce. Sitting around a campfire strumming a tune is cool when you are sitting around a campfire but as a listening experience this leaves a lot to be desired.
Well going through this list when an album from the 50's shows up I don't get to excited. Sonicly and production wise they are always a little flat
Elvis bucks that trend. The recordings seem more alive than others of the period. Now when Elvis shows up on this list I will be more excited. Excellent Listening experience with this album.
The groove is cool, the lyrics are bit simple. This album is just ok.
Heartfelt and soulful. That's the most accurate way for me to describe this album. A very enjoyable listening experience.
Mid tempo rock with low tempo vocals. This band sounds uninspired and aimless. The vocalist sounds like he was bored and is just blithering a stream of continuous. Not tge worst thing I have ever listened to, but I won't be listening again.
In a world where there are bands that do what Slade do better than Slade, there is no need ro listen ro Slade. I don't mind this album, I just don't see a reason ro listen to it on purpose.
These guys can play! Souch talent, this album is a pleasure to listen too.
Some interesting sounds going on, ai find the vocals a little repetitive. Luckily the repetition is not a negative, I like it
This album is surprisingly charming. There is an innocent and carelessness to it that pleasantly surprised me. Good energy and pacing. Every track was a surprise, with no easily identifiable through line.
Love the energy and the experimental nature of this album.
A few hits and lots of filler. I enjoy the vibe of the album, unfortunately by the end it is just a lot of the same old sound.
This album is a smooth ride. Intricate melodies, interesting textures and a deep atmosphere. Miles is always a treat to listen too.
Very few high points in this album, mainly just plodding bleeps and bloops with sad vocals. I did not enjoy my tune with this album.
This album spunda like a group of friends all showed up to a recording studio having never practiced or played their instruments. The only exception being the bass player. Everything else is terrible. I am giving this album a 2 just because the bass player held this mess together the best he could.
This album is rich with layers and textures. Every song had me wondering what was next. An enjoyable listen that I will gladly do a more of in the future.
Full of energy and feeling an album that probably felt dangerous at the time has lost some of its edge over time. I would have loved to be heard this when it was released.
Not the best The Cure album, but still good
This band is better than their singles. This is the first album by them that I have listened to front to back, pleasantly surprised. Good album.
The guitars are like the snare on St. Anger by Metallica. Just annoying enough to distract from everything else going on. There are some great parts hidden behind that wall of fuzz and reverb. I just wish I could here them better and more clearly.
Never heard of them, enjoyed listening to this. Solid album.
In a world of the beetles why would anyone want to listen to beetles wannabes. This album is just ok.
This is the best country album I have ever heard.
What more is there to say that hasn't been said over and over? This album is a classic and for good reason.
This album sounds flat with a so so singer. Not the experience I was hoping for when this album came up.
Classic 80's sound. Solid album from front to back.
I like the sound of his voice and the music is beautiful, I just wish he would sing more than he spoke. It's an interesting blend.
This is two albums, the first ' born to be with you' I found flat and unremarkable. The second, ' sweetheart ' was better in comparison but still felt forgettable.
Not my favorite green day album, but this album is undeniably great.
