I am a fan of many bands in the genre, this is my first Dinosaur JR album that I have listened to front to back. It's pretty good, not the best this genre has to offer but it definitely belongs umoung it's peers.

Just seems like unorganized noise, a few cool guitar licks but this is ultimately a no for me dog.

This album finally made Nick Cave click for me. Solid album front to back with some highlights for me being " Loon of the Land" and "Papa won't leave you, Henery".

This album is full of punk goodness. I can hear this bands influence on many bands and punk as a whole. Iggy is a legend and this album is shining moment for him.

This is as close to a modern day classic that I can think of. I think this album will stand the test of time. Many massive hits and great vocal performances. This isn't my type of music but I can appreciate the talent and the song writing.

Tom Waits has a swagger about him that is undeniable. I can't see myself putting this on randomly, but I do enjoy it. I probably won't spend much time with this album after this listen, but I do wonder if this would get better with time or is it just a novelty?

A lot of layers in this music. Takes a couple listens to unlock some of those layers. The compositions are beautiful. The performances leave something to be desired in my opinion, overall a good first outing for this group.

When I first listened to this I was really impressed with the musical depth by the band. The bass playing reminded me of Jaco and after doing some research it turns out it was him! I give this album a higher score than I probably would all do to the great musicians backing these mid vocals

This album is not to my taste. Monotonous and boring is how I would describe it. Her voice is uninspiring. I can not tell when one song starts and one song ends. It's all the same. Not for me, respectfully.

I really enjoy the textures and tones on this album. No tracks jumped out at me, so it a fairly balanced album. Over all I didn't love it and I didn't hate it.

One thing I really enjoy about this 1001 album experience is the ritual. The ritual of getting an album, sometimes something completely new to me. I downloaded it and do some research and then sit down and listen front to back. This album slightly tainted that. Doing some research gave me the ick. The listening was not enjoyable. The vocals are rapey even without knowing what they meant. Knowing what they meant just made it that much more gross. I am giving this a 2 because the music is nice and well performed.

Hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Willie Nelson has 150+ albums and I haven't listened to an entire album of his until this one. I was not very impressed but I definitely didn't hate it. I look forward to hearing more Willie on this list.

I don't have much experience with world music. The little I do know has not been my thing. This album has some cool moments and neat sounds. I hope this is a sign of things to come in the world music genre on this list.

I couldn't get this album on Spotify so I listened to their 1990 album Everclear. I like the vibe of this group. The vocals get a little repetitive, but enjoyable. I think I will dig a little deeper into their catalog.

Like everyone, I have heard the singles from this album too much. I have never listened to this album front to back until this list. This is a solid rock album. I forgot this was their debut. That makes it all the more impressive.

I was surprised that this band was more punk/glam than it was hair metal. Unfortunately it's bland punk and and bland glam. The drums in particular are a let down. Not particular interesting overall.

An album that perfectly captures the vibe of its decade.

Too brokenhearted, too whiny and too dull. I did not enjoy this. Just too much of the same. This review has so many too's so I guess this album gets a two.

One decent song doesn't make a good album even if it is 18 minutes long. This album and genre are not for me . Maybe if I was on drugs that might help.

Monk is up there with the jazz greats. This isn't my favorite album by him but it's always a treat to listen to a master.

I have never been able to get into Jimi Hendrix. This album didn't change that. I am happy it exists, but it's not for me.

I would never choose to listen to this but I am glad I did. Definitely a little dated but the beats are cool.

This album has some interesting moments. But ultimately fails to launch. Most of the songs start in one place and don't evolve much. There are a few ear worms both lyrically and in the instruments. This album is good. But I am left wanting more out of it.

This album is definitely not peak Bruce. Sitting around a campfire strumming a tune is cool when you are sitting around a campfire but as a listening experience this leaves a lot to be desired.

Well going through this list when an album from the 50's shows up I don't get to excited. Sonicly and production wise they are always a little flat Elvis bucks that trend. The recordings seem more alive than others of the period. Now when Elvis shows up on this list I will be more excited. Excellent Listening experience with this album.

Mid tempo rock with low tempo vocals. This band sounds uninspired and aimless. The vocalist sounds like he was bored and is just blithering a stream of continuous. Not tge worst thing I have ever listened to, but I won't be listening again.

In a world where there are bands that do what Slade do better than Slade, there is no need ro listen ro Slade. I don't mind this album, I just don't see a reason ro listen to it on purpose.

This album spunda like a group of friends all showed up to a recording studio having never practiced or played their instruments. The only exception being the bass player. Everything else is terrible. I am giving this album a 2 just because the bass player held this mess together the best he could.

This band is better than their singles. This is the first album by them that I have listened to front to back, pleasantly surprised. Good album.

The guitars are like the snare on St. Anger by Metallica. Just annoying enough to distract from everything else going on. There are some great parts hidden behind that wall of fuzz and reverb. I just wish I could here them better and more clearly.

I fell in love with Kid A when it came out so when this album dropped I was disappointed. This album is where I stopped listening to radiohead thinking they had peaked creatively over their first few albums. Recently I have gone back and listened to the albums I missed out on from newest to oldest. I was wrong, they did not peak, they just kept the great albums coming . This album is probably still my least favorite but I enjoy it more today than I did all those years ago. Glad I got back into radiohead.

The guitar and drums are killer, the vocals are all filler. This album/band set the ground work for bands that in my opinion took this genre to the next level( rammstien, rob zombie etc.).

This album starts off slow, the first three tracks do not have drums. I definitely prefer the tracks with drums.This album seems to meander a bit, lacks a little focus. To me this is a collection of songs as opposed to a cohesive album.

Every Motorhead song sounds the same to me. I have never loved them. This live album has put them.in a new light for me. The live energy is contagious and I get them a little bit more after listening to this. I bet being there live was electric.

The other day I was telling my wife that I did not like the black keys. This album just have my pause on that statement. This album really impressed me, maybe I had set the bar to low on my mind? Whatever the reason the result is that I enjoyed this album much more than I thought.

This album is touted as a big influence on many early 90s bands and I can see why. This album has a unique sound that must have been mind bending back when it was originally released. Today This album sounds a little tired, I don't think it can be blamed on the band. Just a sign of the times.

I have never clicked with this band, and that's ok.

I really don't like this band.

I like Beck, but was unfamiliar with this album. Whenever I listen to Beck,especially wongs/albums I don't know I have no idea what to expect. This album blew me away. Sounds so uniquely Beck. Deep and introspective . I will definitely be spending more time with this album. I like it.

I had never heard of this band before this list. I am glad I know them now. This album was a real treat. The killing moon is the stand out track, but the rest of the album isn't much of a drop off.

This was a fun listen. It's a bitv0f a long listen and the songs all strat sounding very similar.

Thus did not connect with me. It's in-between the sounds of so many bands that I love like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe its great but poorly executed? There is something there, just not fully realized.

I have never got into Fiona, listening to this has made me reconsider giving her catalog a deep dive. This was an enjoyable listen, a little repetitive but still interesting enough to keep me engaged.

I was just turned onto this band from the vocalist of Idles. I can here the influence of this band on Idles and I like it. Very bass forward with cool vocals. Nothing to dislike on this one.

I really enjoyed the first half of this album. The second half seemed to lose focus and became rather repetitive. It might just be me, or maybe I just got fatigue from listening to this style of music. Either way, I like it.

Ska is not my thing. Reggae is definitely not my thing. I wish it was As a bass player there is a lot of tasty bass lines to keep me interested, its just everything else going on that I just can't jive with.

I like my sugar with coffee and cream. This is the cream of the crop of rhe Beastie Boys catalog. I love this album.
