I liked listening to it as part of this project, but probably won't return to it on my own.
One I already know and love. Hadn't listened to it in a while though so thanks for the reminder 1001 albums generator!
Heroes is the first Bowie song I fell in love with and for that this this album will always have a special place.
The first half is an absolute masterpiece but unfortunately, I don’t love the second half quite as much.
I can only take Bruce Springsteen in small doses. One song on the radio, fine, but after a few it all starts sounding the same to me and I just want him to stop yelling in my ears.
Also, not too happy with having Born In The U.S.A. stuck in my head for the rest of the day..
Coming in at 33 minutes, at least it's a short one..
Enjoyed listening to this, but there wasn't really anything that stood out for me. Good for background music, but since it's not on Spotify I probably won't return to it.
Only listened to a couple of the songs before turning it off. Not my cup of tea.
It's hard to separate this album from his death, one of the very few celebrity deaths that really hit me. But then again, do we/I really need to? An album doesn't exist in a void.
Anyways, it's a great album but I don’t listen to it that often, as it’s kinda depressing, and because of that I can’t call it a personal favourite.
Headache inducing. Too much noise, too much screaming. Couldn't finish.
Ah yes, an album featuring women (&1 man) of colour, but it's curated and produced by a white man who's an abuser and a convicted murderer.
Phil Spector’s involvement made me want to immediately 1-star the album, but I decided to listen to it as saying no to the album because of him would also be saying no to these women, which I really didn't want to do.
my 4 star rating is for The Ronettes, The Crystals, Darlene Love, and Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans.
I think teenage me would have been really into this, hearing it for the first time in my 30s though, it's not really my vibe anymore. Probably won’t return to it but it was nice to listen to for the project.
Didn't care for the first four songs, but enjoyed the ones that came after.
Listened to about half of the album before turning it off as I really wasn’t liking it.
Hiphop/rap is just not a genre for me and while I prefer an album with a political message over gansta rap, a quick google search for Public Enemy gives me results of antisemitism, domestic violence and homophobia. Which at times is reflected in the lyrics. So while I appreciate (part of) their political & social message, I'm left with a bad after taste.
Ugh, can’t stand this kind of thing.
Skipped around through a few songs to give it a try but no, not for me.
This feels kinda messy, and not in a good way. Maybe I would have liked it more without the hip hop influences?
No, still don’t like hiphop/rap
Not really my cup of tea. Surprised myself though by actually listening to the whole thing, was expecting to want to turn it off after a few songs when I saw the cover+genres.
I really love this one! Such a great album.
Ugh, I hate this kind of thing. Sampled a few songs to at least give it a chance, but there's no way I'm gonna put myself through a whole album of this.
She has a good voice but I don't like this style of music, especially the more rap-heavy parts where not my cup of tea.
Live albums are very hit or miss for me, but this is one of the good ones.
I like that it feels raw & unpolished.
I don't know where I stand with the circumstances surrounding his death though. Did he attempt to rape a girl or are the conspiracy theories right? I don't want to dismiss rape allegations, but I do believe things should have been investigated better.
Meh.
(Also, that whole confederate flag thing isn’t exactly appealing.)
No thanks. Turned it off after a couple songs to avoid it giving me a headache.
Didn't expect to like this when I first saw it pop up as today's album, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. Not really here for the songs about rape & necrophilia though.
Idk, I feel like I should like this more than I actually do.
Had only heard a few of their songs before, but really enjoyed this!
This was nice to have on in the background, but there's nothing memorable about it for me.
idk, just not feeling it I guess.
It's not terrible, but I got kinda tired of it after a couple of songs.
Enjoyed listen to it, but not sure I would return to it.
It kinda had to grow on me for the first few songs, but after that I really enjoyed it. Would definitely listen again.
Only sampled a couple of the songs, this really is not my cup of tea.
Not bad, just kinda bland?
I've never really cared for his music
Liked this more than I thought I would
Turned it off after a couple of songs, not my kind of music.
Enjoyed it for now, but probably won't return to it.
not for me, didn't finish
No strong feelings either way.
Finally I one I can get excited about again. Love this album!
This is a difficult one.
Certain lyrics aside, I like his music. The man himself, not so much..
I wasn't really in the mood for it today, but I'm glad I gave it a listen anyways. really like this album!
not terrible, but also not my cup of tea.
I love Patti Smith! Happy to see this album on the list :D
Not really my genre, but enjoyable.
Thought I didn’t like Pink Floyd all that much, but actually really enjoyed this album.
If there's one thing I love in music it's when metal is done a little different. Unplug it, or you know, add a symphony.
A perfect album for a rainy day.
This was alright, not really my genre.
Wasn't that excited to see this pop up so actually skipped it on the day I was supposed to listen. glad I went back to it, really enjoyed it!
I’ve never heard of them before, but this was such a fun album!
did not finish, not at all my cup of tea.
I really tried, but it’s just not my kind of music.
Not sure I would return to it, but this was nice to listen to.
I like the music, too bad morrissey is involved.
Not at all my kind of music. Also, can we just not with the antisemitism and homophobia..
Don't really care for it.
Dated, but like, in a good way.
it's fine? Not really my cup of tea, but I didn't mind listening to it.
Not really my taste, but enjoyed listening to it for the 1001 project.
Meh. Wouldn't pick it myself, but didn't dislike it.
Not really vibing with this.
It's not what I would usually go for, but it's really good!
It’s not really my cup of tea, but I appreciate that it got me listening to something completely different and for the time being I actually enjoyed it. That Imagine cover was the absolute worst though..
Enjoyable enough. Just wish the whole thing was on Spotify as that would make it much easier to listen.
Not my favourite Radiohead, but it’s still Radiohead
It's nice, but music without lyrics will never be more than background music for me.
I've always thought the Beatles were overrated, but I have to admit, I enjoyed this one.
Still not into rap/hiphop
Maybe in the right setting I could enjoy this but listening to it at home, it’s not my vibe.
Got tired of it pretty fast.
Scifi background music. Enjoyable enough.
It's alright? Could be my mood, but I enjoyed the previous Pink Floyd album that I got (The Dark Side Of The Moon) a lot more.
No strong feelings either way?
Enjoyed listening but don’t think I will return to it.
Enjoyable for now, but probably won't return
Not the best choice for a headache day, but I like the album.
One that I feel I should like but that in reality I find just fine. I don't mind listening to it, might even enjoy some of the songs but I won't pick it for myself to listen to.
What a nice surprise! I don't think I've ever listened to them before, but I really enjoyed this album.
Wasn't really in the mood for it, but not bad.
Not feeling it, at least it's a short one.
Really enjoyed listening to this.
I just don’t really care for it.
Meh. I'm picky with metal and this wasn't the one for me.
Enjoyable enough, but won’t make it into rotation.
I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Happy to see this one on here :)
4. Not claiming it to be a master piece, but could definitely listen to this again. (and again, and again, ...)
4. I'm not at all into rap/hiphop but I actually enjoyed this?
3. It's alright, not really my style but I enjoyed having it on while reading.
2. There's just something so boring about this. Like, I can't even hate on it, it's giving absolutely nothing.
2. I just don't really care for Elvis..
5. It's Radiohead, always happy to listen to them.
3. While I'm not into hiphop, I do actually like Outkast. This album was too long for me though and I'm not a fan of the skits.
3. Enjoyed listening, but probably won't come back for seconds.
3. A bit dull, but it was nice to have on in the background while reading.
4. I've always preferred The Clash or The Ramones, but I can appreciate Sex Pistols as well. Hadn't listened to them in a while, so it was nice to come across them with this challenge.
3. Enjoyable enough, but not something I would pick for myself.
1. Got tired of it while still on the second song.
3. Idk, I always think I like Tori Amos, but I never actually feel like listening to the music..
3. The music's alright, but its just way too fucking long. (Especially that 6 hour version that's the only one availible on spotify.)
4. Not my usual style, but really liked it.
3. It's a good album, I enjoyed listening to it for this challenge but honestly, I don't think I'll come back to it. Maybe I'll listen to a couple of the songs again but as a whole it's just not quite my cup of tea.
2. Not bad, but not for me.
1. Noped myself out of this pretty fast. This would just give me a headache.
4. Björk is one of those artists I have to be in the mood for, but when I am I really enjoy the music.
2. He starts to annoy me after a few songs.
Never heard of this before, but I like it!
5. Such a great album. Definitely deserves a place on this list!
Another Bob Dylan?!
How many albums does he have on this list..? I don't dislike him but his music is not something I would choose to listen to.
Also, not sure if this album is worse than the previous ones I got from him or if I'm just tired of listeng to him, but while the others got a 3, this is a 2.
1. Not into the country vibes
4. Good album, not my favourites from Bowie though..
4. Better than I expected.
3. Not my fave from Metallica.
3. It's good, but also just not really my cup of tea?
3. Enjoyable, but not one I'll return to.
4. I love Foo Fighters, though while I like this album, it's not one of my go to albums by them.
5. I was obsessed with this album when it first came out. Hadn't listened to it for quite a few years now though and was worried it might not live up to my memories of it. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. Still love it.
4. What a nice surprise. I don't think I've ever listened one of his albums before, but really enjoyed this one.
4. Tbh I probably only like this because of the nostalgia...
5. This might just be my favourite album ever.
3. The first two songs weren't really my cup of tea, but I enjoyed what came after.
4. Really enjoyed this! Starstruck is definitely one of my fave songs.
1. Nope, can't listen to this. The music itself is fine, not really my cup of tea, but otherwise it's fine, the vocals, however. Big NO.
2. Sounds like Christmas to me.
2. I'm sorry, but this is just boring.
1. nope, still not into rap.
3. Enjoyable in the background while doing other things, but not something I would pick for myself if it wasn't for this challenge.
2. I just wanted this to be over..
1. Yeah, no thanks, not going to listen to a pedophilia-themed album.
3. kinda boring, but nice to have on in the background.
3. I absolutely cannot stand the song Yellow Submarine, but otherwise this is fine. I don't really get the hype surrounding the Beatles tbh.
2. Reminding me of early Taylor Swift. Not terrible, bu not my cup of tea.
4. It's been years since I listened to the White Stripes as I kind of got tired of their music, but this was good! Will put them in rotation again.
2. I might have liked this had I first listened to it some years ago, but for now, it's just too angry-sounding for my taste. Turned it off after a few songs.
4. Not my usual, but really enjoyed it!
4. Thought I didn't like U2, but really enjoyed listening to this album!
3. Probably not the best album to listen to while you're already having a headache.. Otherwise, it's fine?
3. Leans a bit too country for me, but I didn't dislike it.
1. Nope, I'm sorry, but I can't do this.
2. I don't like hiphop, had some nice tracks though
3. Background music. It's fine to listen to whilst reading for example, but nothing about it excites me.
4. Never heard of them before, but really enjoeyd the album!
5. Love Manic Street Preachers!
3. It's giving Radiohead vibes. Not bad, but I'd rather just listen to Radiohead..
I loved this when it first came out and listened to it A LOT for a few years. Then I got tired of it and never really went back. For this challenge I decided to listen to Taylor's version. I don't think I'll ever get back to obsessing over it, but it was fun to listen again.
2. Seriously, another Bob Dylan on thid list?! So over his music.
1. No album should be this long.
4. 80s hardrock/metal isn't usually my cup of tea, but there's something about this album I really enjoy.
