First listen for me, some great moments of falsetto singing. The Shining hour is my favourite track.

Solid album. I like the vocals. This is one of those 90s alternative bands that flew under the radar. Quite a nice find.

I was hoping this would be more than just your standard 90s alt/indie rock. There are occasional glimmers with the ragtime piano on the first and 8th track and some interesting 12-string guitar sounds, but that's about it. Not saying it's bad, but just a bit too safe to stand out.

Fuzzy is a perfectly serviceable album, very much of its time with its distinctive early 90s alt.rock vibe and sound. I found it enjoyable enough, but it didn't blow me away.

I actually enjoyed this album more than I thought I would. Got some Bowie vibes but alt rock 90s. Apparently they influenced others even thought they never really blew up.

Iskreno nisam imao nešta vremena ga preslušati detaljno, no ovo što sam čuo, nije baš nešta iskreno posebno, ne da je loše, nego jednostavno mi se baš nije toliko ni slušao album, nije me zadržao da budem željan slušanja. Iako je Michael Stipe iz grupe R.E.M. rekao da je ovo najbolji album 1993, ne bi se sigurno s njim složio, a zbog toga sam i dobio želju da ga poslušam. Okej su pjesme, međutim ne dira me previše.

Ended up enjoying this album far more than I expected. Had never heard of Grant Lee Buffalo, but may start listening to his music regularly.

Fantastic album

Did not like. Just seems like a mishmash of Bowie, Neil Young, or Pixies tribute songs.

Rock de guitarras noventeras, como si fueran unos Wilco primigenios. Muy escuchable.

Keen to listen to this again as I had it on in the background whilst having dinner and it pricked my ears a few times. REM and Pearl Jam vibes, but maybe a bit more acousticy? Could be a 2, could be a 4.

Alternative rock with a great sense of melody. A catchy album which is also a relevant indie rock effort.

Kein Begriff von diesem Grant Lee Buffalo gehabt; kommt schmissig und locker aus der Umkleide, spielt ein geradlinigen Ball, mit viel Druck und wenig Spirenzchen. Ein schönes Spiel, robust aber immer sauber. Class of 93 wusste noch, worauf es ankam. Das Album wirkt auf mich zudem wie die Blaupause zum Stilgepräge, wonach Jonathan Franzen die Figur des Richard Katz („Freedom“) zusammenbaute. Irgendwie altbacken, grobschrötig und doch mit der psychologischen Sensibilität eines Kindes jener Zeit beschlagen. Handwerklich sehr gut, teils virtuos, ironiefreie Haltung, persönlich, und ja sorry fürs Wort: glaubwürdig. Crafty 3.8

Der erste Song, „The Shining Hour“, ließ mich eine Augenbraue heben: hatte sich da jemand im Jahrzehnt vertan? War 10 Jahre zu früh dran und kämpfte nun in Amerika allein gegen Pathos und Wucht von (Post-) Grunge überall um ihn herum? Naja, relativierte sich dann ja bisschen über die Langstrecke, aber ein bisschen anders ist das schon. Nächster wirklich aufgefallener Song dann erst das schön garagig shoegazende „Grace“ fast zum Schluss - positiv aufgefallen natürlich. Insgesamt: war nett, Sie kennengelernt zu haben! 2,9

Just boring

“Fuzzy” by Grant Lee Buffalo (1993) Never heard of this album or this group. Some innovative instrumentation, but the drums and bass lack the creativity that is evident in guitar and keyboards. Virtually no lead guitar, nearly all acoustic strumming, done competently enough, but it’s monotonous by the end of the album. Melodies are uninspired, necessitated by Lee’s limited vocal range. The lyrics on this album are needlessly opaque. The only interesting cut is the 17-verse “Dixie Drug Store” which tells a coherent story with a not entirely unpredictable twist. But it lacks soul. This entire album barely skims the surface of emotion. We could all pass on this one. 1/5

Never heard of this. Like the 90s alt rock sound, nick drak vibes, americana, like his vocals. There were even some Black Francis vibes, like on "Grace". Mildly forgettable, like a lot of music from the 90s alternative rock era.

Sort of like it, but sounds like a U2 tribute band who could do better.

Not outstanding in anyway. Definitely an album that makes me not want to listen to the list for a few days

More of a 3.5 but I can't do half stars.

The way he sings reminds me of Orville Peck a bit. The music has a cool tone, but nothing really attention grabbing for me.

Meh. This album was alright, but nothing special for me. I would probably listen to it again, but wouldn't recognize the artist as distinctive. I'm not sure if that makes it 2 or 3 stars, but I'll default to 3.
