Portishead
5/5
This album is so cool. What else sounds like this? It's bursting with ideas! To me this album has a clear point of view, it sounds like impending danger, like fear of the future. It's dark and anxious. I love it

What a surprise. I knew the hit but didn't expect the album to be so good

Prince
3/5
As an album: A few killers but a lot of fillers
The Roots
4/5
Pretty damn good
Peaks right in the middle at seed 2.0
Depeche Mode
5/5
If you listen to just the 9 track original this album is really really excellent. Great songs, slick production.
The 2006 remaster adds a bunch of filler for no good reason...maybe to add "value"
Black Sabbath
1/5
A bit lacklustre for me. I don't think it's aged very well
Björk
4/5
This is great, a party album. theres even a part where it sounds like she's walks out of a house party. No one sings like Bjork
1/5
Unlistenable
Zero stars if I could
The Verve
2/5
Richard Ashcroft can't hold a tune
Sparks
2/5

Great album, all hits
Brian Eno
3/5
New Order
4/5
As usual this new order album sounds excellent, great songs, kind of lulls a bit in the middle, not their absolute best but it's better than most bands can do
Killing Joke
4/5
I have heard of this band but never heard anything from this band, what a great surprise. Sounds ahead of its time
Dusty Springfield
2/5
It's ok if you really like the 60s ballads

Garbage
3/5
The Cardigans
2/5
The throwback sound was cool at the time but now it sounds kind of lame
Pink Floyd
2/5
I don't get the appeal of pink Floyd. The songs are rambling and noodley. Good for background music maybe.
Can
2/5
Kinda cool ahead of its time
Joni Mitchell
3/5
She's a really good song writer and I like her voice
Mudhoney
3/5

Good album, not as good as I remember it but good none the less. Really rocking it but I don't like the production that much

Mott The Hoople
1/5
Why is this album so hyped? I don't hear the big deal. Is it the association with Bowie? Underwhelming
Lou Reed
2/5
Very dark
Echo And The Bunnymen
2/5
I like this band but this album doesn't do it for me. I wish it had more energy.
Terence Trent D'Arby
1/5
I don't see what's so special save for wishing well. As an album it's ok I guess
Leonard Cohen
2/5
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
Really good songwriter but the songs are a bit one note when listening to the album as a whole
Rage Against The Machine
5/5
This is so great and still feels fresh. There were many bands copying this style but no one pulls it off like them. What a debut
The Undertones

I'm surprised this is on this list. It could only be considered good by those who think "walk this way" was the top achievement in hiphop. It was irrelevant when it came out and is more so now
ABBA
4/5
This would be a 5 if I didn't know that ABBA ever put out any music before or since. Or if this sounded like these songs could only be together on this album and not on, say, their next one or their previous one. Don't get me wrong, this is an excellent album and this has so many great songs! But let's be honest, an ABBA greatest hits collection is a 5 star an everything else must be lower
Tom Waits
2/5
Some good songs, he's as interesting as ever
Bob Dylan
5/5
Sarah Vaughan
3/5
Great voice and her ability and ease with improvisation makes her talent obvious. Jazz is not usually my thing but I like this
