The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
Lauryn HillReally disappointed with this, expected it to blow me away but found it mostly annoying
Really disappointed with this, expected it to blow me away but found it mostly annoying
Great with some hard hitting lyrics, will listen to again
Dripping in 90s cheese, when it hits is very good, but when it misses its downright awful. It hits more than misses but I cannot shake the feeling that computers are working overtime to give it that sound. It's a 3
Musically this was great, and I am sure based on the wiki that this tells a great story, however partly due to the language barrier it wasn't for me
I honestly believe this is one of the greats. Lupes eloquent delivery mixed with some sick beats makes this a true masterpiece
This is a fantastic album with some incredible talent behind it. Highlights are bombtrack, know your enemy and wakeup
This album is fine, I really enjoyed the piano solo at end of uncertian smiles, not sure I would choose to listen to this again but I found it mostly inoffensive if not a product of its time
I enjoyed aspects of this album, it has very poignant meaning which also feels so relevant in today's world, but as an entire album I am not sure its for me. It reminded me of the Donald Glover stand up skit about old rap and buying a hat
I feel like I should have liked this album more than I did. It was a bit to country for my taste, had to control myself from yelling yeehaw a few times
Its a tad too Christian/southern rock for my taste. I dont think it's bad, just not what I wanted to listen to this morning
This was enjoyable, highlight track was traveling light for me, its not the best driving to work on Friday morning music but can see myself listening too again.
Fantastic album, some real highlights and well know "hits" deffo have to be in a certain mood to listen to this but we'll worth it
Ehhhh, its country music, I don't like country music, this was always going to be a struggle for me if I had to pick a highlight it would have been can't let go but unlikely I will ever listen to again
This was great, I was deeply concerned when the first few songs were go back to Africa and master race rock... however this was a great listen with many standouts weekend and cars and girls
I described this album as the monster mash song, not as good, too much kazoo. Inspite of all that I did enjoy parts of this album
This is not the album to listen too when you've just had your second covid jab, you're heading to work feeling awful, and you need a pick-me-up. Inspite of that, its fine, it's Leonard Cohen doing his stuff....2.5
Smoking room kinda jazz, I dug it, not sure if I would listen again but it was enjoyable
Great album, great hits
I love Depeche mode and loved this album
Incredible album the whole way through, if I had to give it a complaint, the last track is a bit shit but overall loved it
I liked the first song, rest was a bit samey, not bad, doubt I would listen to again
Fine, if unspectacular
I feel I should like this more than I did, but I find the prixies a bit samey and never got the hype. Maybe I am a bad pixies fan as I only really like the hits. Highlight is probably is she weird
Do you like radiohead? Then you will probably like this album. It's fine but I "don't get" the radiohead hype myself. Highlights are optimistic and idioteque
So I had pixies earlier this week. I didn't hate that album but didn't love it either. Exact same reaction to this. It's fine, highlight track is headache
Strange brit poprock mix from early 90s. Was expecting blur/oasis got weird hybrid thing...didn't hate it, think I would have preferred blur or oasis
Some greats here.. alot of fluff, I find Metallica take ages to get to meat of song. One is a banger though
I enjoyed this alot more than expected, kinda felt like what the 90s would put over the Charlie's angels TV show
This was a tricky one for me to rate, her voice is incredible, I just don't like the style of music it's applied too. Although busy being blue is a great trac
This was great, not listened to this artist before will check out more of their stuff Jane says and summertime rolls where highlights
Funkay
I enjoyed this for a Monday, it was very chilled and sounded like it should be over a movie. Not too sure I get why it's on this list
Yep 80s pop loved this. Reminded me of GTA Vice City. Posion Arrow is a banger
69 loves songs! 2hrs52mins. I get that these were like anti love songs but it still went on for too long and it's the first album I havent completed
Yeah pretty good, classic metal
Yeah enjoyed this American pop-punk.
Fantastic album with really great hits. Love she's so lose and the classic alright
A tad too ambient for me, not bad just not what I wanted
I wanted to like this so bad, but every song just had something that annoyed me, from the random different voice singing 1 word to the guitar being made to scream, did not love
THE ACE OF SPADES
Yeah I unironically like Bon Jovi, its probably rock for your mum but it's harmless hair rock which is fun, enjoyed this album even if he is a bit of a bell
This was a fun poppy kinda album, it probably had some deep and dark brooding message that went right over my head but I enjoyed the sound to my ears
This was weird, fun but weird. I didn't super love this but far from hating it. Weird mix of ambient background music interspersed with metal/rap/country
This was pretty solid, almost the definition of post punk rock kinda. Will likely listen to again
Great album, like daft punk but less interesting, not a slight would listen to again
Quintessential metal, really enjoyed, right legnth, hits hard
Classic music which reminded me of all the fallout games. Great, unlikely to listen too again but still very solid
This was a hard listen too, I can probably appreciate that each song had its own levels to it that I couldn't appreciate but the overwhelming feeling was that it was all kind of dull and samey
Am I glad I listened to this? Yes, did I enjoy this...not to sure. I really like the concept and theory, just not sure if it can be executed
My first 5 star, had never listened to this and loved every song
A little to country not enough rock and roll
Its pretty solid, someone pointed out to me that meg white is a very basic drummer and listening to this I think I agree. She's significantly more talented than me but doesn't feel like she adds anything to the album
The fact I had to check to make sure there wasn't something wrong with the car while listening to this says it all I feel
Heavy nu metal from my childhood, enjoyed this, deffo reminded me of being an angst riddled teenager
Yeah really enjoyed this, great Bob Dylan album to start
Great pop album, can't really pick any huge standout tracks but enjoyed pretty much all of it
My first beatles album and it was pretty much what I expected
Old rap, its fine, I liked being able to hear the original samples of some more recent/popular songs. But same story with old rap, doesn't feel like it has much of a story to tell
I dont enjoy country music, went into this knowing I wouldn't enjoy it. However, it's no where near as obnoxious as I thought
Very poppy a bit trippy it was fun
I mean its one of Bowie's best.
I've never really got the Arctic monkeys, I just don't really enjoy their stuff, the highlights are probably the hits but even then don't love it
Daft punk less French more Birmingham
Always thought I'd listened to Rau Charles but I haven't....turns out it's exactly how I imagined it
This was great, macey gray meets alicia keys
Complete trash, I didn't enjoy any of this, it was unbelievably obnoxious
Yeah this was paint by numbers rock and roll, throughly enjoyed
This was hugely entertaining and will listen to again
Enjoyed this alot, did not expect to. Probably the best of this type of music
Trod a line between genius and annoying
Enjoyable, when it's good it was great but the bad was awful
Really enjoyed this, daft punk but more 90s
Ehhhhh, this was very jazz heavy. It wasn't bad but can't think when I would ever listen too again
She has a great voice, but overall just didn't get this
Very very forgettable
One man and his acoustic guitar.. not bad but not soothing I will listen to again
Fine
This was pretty good, running up the Hill was highlight.
Odd, didn't hate it but unlikely to listen to again
This was solid, some great hits and have a soft spot for blondie anyways
Fantastic chilled album which will be played again
Great album starts off strong but gets weaker as it continues, still reccomended
Disappointingly dull
This is possibly great but I didn't get it
Weird, just a guy talking and then some good music overall didn't dig it
This was pretty good
This was solid, knew some tracks from this album but over all great album
Fantastic from start to end
Yeah this was very funky and had some great tracks in there, also my favorite song title ever
When I got this I rolled my eyes and groaned. It's actually really solid, California Dreamin' is a banger
Holy shit this was a surprise, I hated the other album, this one was fantastic
Odd, this had some good songs and some real shitty, four seasons in one day reminds me of school
I love this album
I enjoyed this album so much , I listened to the Queen is dead after
Yeah, this hits pretty hard. Cream is a obvious highlight. Biggest gripe, they seem to do the register before every song, turning a 3 min song into a 6 min song
Unsurprisingly this wasn't good. Some of the music was tolerable but the wobbly voice was awful
Dull, uninspired trash. Each song goes on for 8 mins too long. And the album outstays its welcome
Paint by numbers but still solid
Yeah pretty solid stuff
Unexpectedly great
Average, the good is well know and the rest is fine, if not a bit samey
Not bad, bit samey
This is pretty great, I feel like it's every Jamiroquai album but still great
This was fine but felt very safe
The suggested album goes on far too long, it's pretty good to start then drags quiet badly
Really unsure what to rate this, I think its probably better than I give it credit for m, but Jesus it's dour. Will have to come back to this again one day
Grrrl punk is a genre I wish to know more about, this was a fine introduction although at times I found her voice a bit wobbly
Pretty standard verve, hits are the standouts
She has an great voice, some of the tracks are a bit shit though, starts strong and falls off from there
Enjoyed this, not the right weather or time of year for casual ska but still a great album
Outstanding
Ehhh, she's got a great voice, some tracks were good some just washed over me
I love this album and think it's her best work
Pretty much definition of American pop punk, fun
Fantastic from start to finish
Great with some hard hitting lyrics, will listen to again
Better than the last but still washed over me
Legit can't believe how much I enjoyed this album, feels like peak kayne. Exceptional
This wasn't as bad as I expected, it had some interesting songs and was more rocky than whiney
Fine, second song was banger but mostly fluff
Fluff, not really enjoyable
Long, kinda dull
Yeah this was great
Far to country
Funky, got a bit samey
Yeah prettyvsolid stuff
Solid but every song went on for a bit too long, still enjoyed. Also me and Mick got this album at same time
This was odd, I felt like I should have enjoyed this but I didn't. It makes me wonder why/hope we get names like scroobius pip on here but I somehow doubt it
Techno 101, very inoffensive but hardly genre defining
The last 3 tracks were bangers rest was very forgettable
Yeah pretty much what the kinks are great stuff
I hate live albums, this was a rare exception. Brilliant
Very solid enjoyable thrash punk
Great punk even if some of it feels a bit false
This felt like weird kids music I kept expecting Carol vorderman to come out and teach me my 3x table
Started weak but was really digging it by end
Fabulous example of punk, really enjoyed, just the right legnth
Solid stuff, thought I would just like the hits, then a great sax hit and I was sold
This blew me away, then I read the back story and wiki
Felt a bit like my first Dylan, easy listening and great stuff
This was fine, I don't get Jazz really so if you asked me why this was better than any of the other Jazz I had, I wouldn't have an answer
Started strong then just wafted off into nothingness. Not bad just parts that were forgotten
Never heard of krautrock, probably never going too again, repeated beats for 7 mins, not my jam
This was great 90s pop, Madonna voice is incredible
Very interesting album, great history behind it
Great R&B beats with some solid rap over the top, great stuff
Great stuff, oasis but with more of a kick to it
Had some good stand out tracks that reminded me of early 2000s kerrange. Most was just forgettable though
I love this album
I really struggle to know why this Sinatra album is on vs any other. It's fine but it's all a bit samey to me , at least it played round Christmas
Very classic early learning center rap
Most of this passed me by with a few decent tracks
Punky
Not my thing but probably fine
Great stuff, thin Lizzy meets wolf mother, first track is exceptional
Terrible, only decent track was the shaft theme
Super overplayed album for me. It's probably good, I'm just jaded.
Not my jam
Great German rock, reminded me of Ramstein
Not awful but a bit samey, just kinda droned on at times
Lyrically pretty interesting, not sure I'd listen to again
Lyrically this was fire....musically was a bit samey
Haunting voice which I love but a whole album gets a bit samey and dull
This is very catchy....but so is Covid
This was great, varied and powerful lyrics
What's this? A radiohead album I don't full dull and actively enjoy.. It really is the end of times
Coldest take in the world. This album is good, imagine is fine but reminds of the cringe viral video at start of covid.
Fantastic album
I liked the idea but poor execution
This took far too long to get anywhere even remotely interesting. Not for me
Pleasant enough
Musically this was great, and I am sure based on the wiki that this tells a great story, however partly due to the language barrier it wasn't for me
It waffled on for far too long
Wavering between a 3-4, biggest issue is each song goes on too long however le freak is a banger
The gets a 3 based on the album track. The rest just kinda blends into nothingness its not bad but its not earth shattering
Utter wank, this holds the "award" of being one of so far 2 albums I couldn't finish. His voice, the "music" and the whole premise behind the album was awful, if I could give zero I would, nothing enjoyable about this at all
This was okay, I am not sure what doesn't click with me on this but it just seems fine...
Far too cool for a Monday in January, still this was decent although suffered from Mr Hayes refusal to sing for parts and instead talk for 8 mins
This was surprisingly great, really reminded me of early dropkick murphys
Wish.com version of oasis/blur. Very good though
My wife made me a cake once, she threw all the ingredients into a bowl, mixed and tossed it into oven. 30 mins later we had some bits of really good cake, but most was just a raw flour and egg mess.
Not as good as the pink one but still good
Trippy, groovy, fantastic. The noises hendrix squeals out of his guitar blow my mind
Yeah great 90s early 2000s rap. Lyrically great, amazing voice and some real gems
Not as good as I was hoping. I think it should be a 4 but I know I'll never listen to it again so getting a 3
This was good, but all I could think was audioslave is better, not sure I'd listen to again because of how much I prefer audioslave. Chris Cornell is a legend though RIP
I really enjoyed this, lyrically hard hitting, highlight were ballard of a thin man and tombstone blues. I do totally get why people don't dig his voice, but it works for me
I just dont get it, this has really divided opinions where most people I've spoken too hate this, but the Internet adores it and I just find it boring. At least if it was bad I would have something to say about it
70s punk, feel like we've had a lot of 70s punk and it's fine but I'm getting a tad bored of it
I really don't get it. One of the songs I had to mute because it was squeeling and I thought something was wrong with my car
Ibiza cream classic, this was pretty great and a change from what I've been getting recently
Lyrically intretsing, my main thought however was this should have been the soundtrack for the rip off version of nightmare before christmas
Is this the definition of swamp rock? It better than the other album I listened to, but still not for me. Less obnoxious then I expected however
Dripping in 90s cheese, when it hits is very good, but when it misses its downright awful. It hits more than misses but I cannot shake the feeling that computers are working overtime to give it that sound. It's a 3
America...fuck yeah. This was good tbf, really enjoyed dancing in the dark
Yep, this impressed me alot more than I anticipated. Its a bit dad rock but turns out I quiet like that. The first song immediately got it turned up
Fantastic, Eleanor Rigby is a tune and yellow submarine reminds me of being 10 singing it a at school
Incredible album, my favorite the who album so far.
Not my jam,
Dull, just blurred into one thing, forgettable cali indie
Better than I expected, but I don't love Ozzys voice.
Dripping in 80s cheese but much better than I thought it was going to be
Very county and western, very yeehaw, very dated, very much not my thing
Powerful, hard hitting metal, iconic if not slightly showing its age in some places
That's entertainment. Enjoyable albeit slightly same and safe at times
Dull and kinda weird, not my thing
People have described this as experimental. I'm more in the obnoxious camp, his voice never seems to sync up with the music and is all over the place
More Springsteen, its good but I've had better
Powerful voice, gets a bit nothingy at points but still good stuff
I think there are better Stevie Wonder albums to come, this is fine, if not a tad forgettable
I felt like this was the start of a punk movement, but then I saw when it came out so now not sure. Its enjoyable enough but doubt I'll listen again
Largely forgettable, I'm sure there's a better rod Stewart album out there, his voice us very unique
I didnt enjoy this, it washed over me and I have no real memory of it at all
Yeah a tad dad rocky but I quite enjoyed this
I enjoyed this, my directors mocked me for enjoying it and I'm still not sure why.
Very enjoyable, I prefer Revolver but this still feels special
Started off strong, got weak then got better
Holy shit our house is a annoying as fuck song.
So I like it alot more than I expected too. I still think freebird goes on for far too long, but simple man is very good. I'm not sure if I would listen to again, but I think if I was to listen to a Skynyrd album, this would probably be the one.
This was very good ol' Santana is pretty good at the guitar it turns out
Yeah this was nice...washed over me a but, last song was great however
I enjoyed the second listen to this alot more.
Definitely more annoying, surprising how little I enjoyed this
Enjoyed this alot more on second listen, it's funny and well put together, his voice gets a tad annoying at times but still worth your time
Its unapologetically getting a biased 4. I have weird (maybe Freudian) memories of this album so was impossible to listen to objectively....
Throughly enjoyed this, weired in places but incredible in others
Yeah this really impressed me different in areas but worthy of a re-listen. Kinds felt a bit like Coldplay meets gorillaz but was also its own animal
Treads a very fine between minimalistic and dull but I think it juuuust pulls it off. Not one to regularly listen to but still enjoyable
ULTIMATE DAD ROCK, I surprised myself because I enjoyed itn
Fantastic
Maybe I'm just dumb, but I always assumed the doors were more dour and depressing, this shit rocked and was much more up tempo and lively
This was a bit all over the place but I still enjoyed it alot
Great voice, but got bored after a while
80s synth cheese, yes I'm game. Got weaker as it went on but still enjoyable
Yeah, okay, should probably re-listen too one day
Its elvis, I'm not sure why this is better or worse than any other elvis...it fine
Thrusts AF, but pretty good musically
Just droned on, really not my thing
Disorganised mess and the song about onions can get in the sea
Fantastic from start to finish
Yeah traditional UK punk which is fine
Eh, I got kinda bored halfway though, it's not bad
Enjoyed this so much more than expected, best sabbath album so far
I hate being "that guy" who hates Coldplay just because it's the British thing to do. Having said that, man this is dull AF the hits aren't even great and super overplayed and the non hits are so forgettable
This was surprising dull
I was weirdly disappointed by this, found it very sleepy and uninteresting
Reminded me of guitar hero
Solid stuff, weirdly enjoyed the intramentals more
Great stuff even if sweet child goes on a bit
Wow, this was so much more enjoyable than let England shake and the other one she did.
Alot of filler on this. The best stuff is where is sounds like Gorillaz
Good stuff, not as good as last album, and the random song with the American vocalist was awful
Its short which is nice. Its okay, nothing special
This is great stuff, never listened to this and it felt fresh
Solid blurr meets queen's of the stone age, this rocked
Really enjoyed this, felt like it told a story and the audience involvement oddly added to it
Its got some great hits on it, but the in-between hits are a bit fillery. It's enjoyable but I don't think I would ever listen to whole album again
Truly great grunge punk, can't believe I've never listened to this before
This depressingly, kinda blows, money for nothing is fine and the title track is a banger but everything else felt like filler
Yeah fantastic
I enjoyed this, but I think was expecting a 5 star. Still was pretty gretab
Okay not sure I get why it's on this list
Reminds me of school discos... I hated school discos
I enjoyed how weird this was
Fine, namesake gives away uts score
I really dug this, reminded me of fallout.
Eh, not great felt very disorganised, but jackass theme was lol
Great interesting krautrock, will listen to again
This is wild... its not good, but its a hell of an experience
Fun, can see the Beatles influence/inspiration in it
Loved this, had some incredible names on it. Too many skits
Very enjoyable, fun loving criminals but harder?
Not my thing
Crazy how the messages delivered in this album are still so relevant today. Fantastic stuff
Fine
Fantastic chilled and rocked simultaneous
This was very odd, really enjoyed the idea of flicking between radio stations but just not sure this pulled it off
Never listened to this and really enjoyed it. Seems very weirdly geeky at times
I'm not sure I really got this. I've been told with context I would appreciate it more (the whole released just before his death) but without it, I got kinda bored
Yep, I'll do this again, great stuff
Great DIY music for when you've just moved house
Kinda dull in places but inoffensive
Pretty bland
Enjoyable but standard areosmith
Eh, its okay, got bored after a while
Solid stuff here
Largely dull and forgettable
Opening track is a banger, this was a great listen, exactly what I wanted from this
They try so hard, but its solid stuff
Enjoyable, kinda mellow punk, the live version of my generation can get in the sea but overall enjoyed
Bluesy, felt a bit paint by numbers but still really enjoyed
Pretty forgettable, not bad just can't see myself wanting to listen again
Powerful stuff, enjoyed every moment
More lively for Cohen, but still cohen
I thought this was a complication but wiki tells me it's a cover album, its incredible and the cover of hurt is both haunting and beautiful
Lofi beats to study and relax too mixed with a bit of reage, sounds wonderful. I dig it
Kinda bland and forgettable, not offensive but hardly a defining album
Really disappointed with this, expected it to blow me away but found it mostly annoying
I brought three albums when I was trying to get into "real" music. Rage against the machine self titled, blink 182 take off your pants and jacket and this. I really struggled to listen to it back then and nothing has changed. His voice whines on, its far too long, some occasional tolerable stuff but over all just not for me
Cheer up luv, its not that bad. Cracking pipes but not really for me
Reminds me of playing Tony Hawks on the ps1 and I love it for that
Huh, weirdly disappointed with this, starts strong but last few tracks are just dull
Really disappointed, bland, lyrically kinda dull
Its very good, there are some excellent drum solos. If I had to nitpick, sometimes some of the songs go on for a bit too long and some of the "banter" with the audience misses but it's still great stuff 4 stars
Solid, fun, rock, no statements, no politics, just rock n roll and it was good
Never really done Billy Joel, surprised how many songs I recognised, this was fabulous
It's early industrial metal, you can really tell where NIN/Linkin Park/etc got their inspiration from. It's gritty, punchy, hits hard and I loved it. It's only not getting a 5 because there are some duff tracks, but a highlight was Jesus built my hotrod.
I think I wanted to like this more, it's okay, very punky and lyrically are fun, but I found myself zoning out at points and getting a bit bored.
This was much more enjoyable than expected, apache is a certified banger. For sure going to listen again, not quiet sure I can explain why but can't justify giving this a 5 so it's a solid 4
Another radiohead album... It amazes me that an album which has (IMO) radioheads best song as its opener can then drone on to such nothingness... its a 3 because 2+2=5 is great and there's one more song that's pretty good but I can't remember the name lol
Its short and has Detroit Rock City and Shut it out on it....thats pretty much all I can say that's positive. Also Gene Simmons gives me nightmares 2 stars
Solid beatles pop, was very surprised to see how much I already knew
Its incredible and a great example of why I'm doing this, never heard of him and I'm on my second playthrough of this album already easy 5
Yes, yes, yes. Fantastic album by Incredible band, not listened to this in a very long time and reminded how great it was
Chilled out mellow groves, theres a time and place for this and I can see myself listening to it again
Meh not my thing
This was what I needed to wake me up this morning. Its not very good but it hits hard
Good stuff, just not sure I'd ever listen to again
Great stuff, not sure its britt pop but still really enjoyed this
I can agree this is probably great, but it wasn't really for me, too long for a start and just don't think I'll listen too again
When it hits its very good, shame the majority sounds like the musical section at an early learning center
I'm not the right person to give this a review, it sounded very good and musically was fine m, but I just know I won't listen to it again is its not my thing
Perfectly fine, one banger and the rest blended into one thing
Holy shit, could this have been any better/worse timed. For future me, this album was suggested the day after the Queen died....wow (edit now nor sure if this was all an elaborate joke, still very good) albums great 5 starts and extra for comedy value...so 6?
I get this is probably genre defining and can see the influences its had...but I didn't love it
Pretty good stuff but not sure when I'd listen to it again, getting slightly overwhelmed with sheer number of bands that have a similar vibe to this
This was absolutely unbearable. I'm not being a snob when I say I don't even think it was music, it was just noise, worse than even Serge Gainberg...
This had more of an edge too it and I enjoyed it alot more than I expected, I think the surprise of me enjoying may have boosted my score but having said that rolling in the deep is a banger
Foo fighters feels so dad rock to me. Some of their stuff hits but it's rare that I ever find an album that I really enjoy the whole way...until now, this feels edgier and harder than their later stuff, plus no "hits"
This was very rock and roll...its fine
Unremarkable, had some okay songs but mostly just glazed while listening
Ehhh, I have issues with this album, blew it's load to quickly, cherry picked songs from multiple live events, goes on too long... its fine but I will never listen to again
Had some bangers, lots of fluff, prefer his son
Pretty much banging from start to finish, few tracks that were a tad slow for my taste but still great
Outstanding, albums like this are why I am doing this. Hallelujah will never fail to give me goosebumps
Australia ska punk, sign me up
This did that 60s rock sound very well, if you ever need/want to listen to that style the this is your album
Ehhhh, it's not bad, just not for me, the live crowd slightly detract from this.
This was very interesting but I'm not sure if it was good.
Pretentious as he'll but I loved this, to nitpick the last half is weaker and the last 17 min song is a bit too long, but regardless I would be happy to own this
Beats 5, lyrics 2, overall 3
Classic and timeless
This was okay
Hard hitting filth, nitpick would be the last song was too long, but still great stuff
I cant get passed how early learning center the rapping feels. Beats and backing is great, let down by basic poor rapping
When it's good it's easily a 5, but then half way through it goes like weird free-form jazz and a man is just tinkeling on the piano and it really break it up (and I would say detracts from the album) but when it hits its an easy 5 stars. 21st century schizoid man is amazing. Overall a 4 cause it hits more than it misses
This reminds me of a very specific time so a biased 4
See review from 3 days ago
Great stuff, upbeat and slightly jazzy. Could maybe be considered a bit background noise but I can see myself listening to it again so it's getting a 4
Its probably not bad but it really not for me, I found it dull and uninspired and it just droned on and on
I've never really got Metallica, this just seems like the same generic sound repeated for each song until nothing else matters hits and that song is great because it's different. Every other song is duhn dunn *pause* duhn dunn *pause* duhn dunn repeated, its so dull. After it was over it reccomend I listen to Nickleback who IMO was at least more interesting
Eh if this was a tribe called quest I wouldn't have been able to tell difference, also link went to "the missing album by the noel reading band and I listened to most of that(which if you care was 3/5)
The album cover is kind of interesting....and that's the best thing I can say about this 2 stars
Great if not very long. Still incredible stuff on here
The measuring stick for all reggae albums. Incredible
Samples were top notch, like arguably one of the best out there, vocals really detract from the product.
Campy in your face with a edge, slight punk vibes to it and I'm sure I could bang frankenstien
Shredded hard, was expecting to hate this but really enjoyed it
Powerful
This was fine, got a tad bored halfway
Not my jam
I remember little of this
I have to be in a very specific mood to enjoy this, still better than Paul's boutique
The doors have been a real surprise hit for me while doing this. Really enjoyed this had some songs I had no idea where them
Bossa nova/lounge jazz - the kind of thing you would hear in a lounge bar on an expensive Cuban resort. Probably good weekend or evening music.
French Cohen is probably the best description for this
First song, eh, not bad. Then the drum beat continued, then a man screamed at me, then I understood why this has so many 1 reviews
Surprisely dull, around the world is far too long, much better stuff out there by this duo
This was weird, I thought it was going to be a good weird at first, but then it started throwing in random clicks and beeps which made me think there was a error with my car...odd has great elements but to much randomness
Fluff, the garden of Eden song goes on way too long, prolly enjoyable if on a shit load of acid
Lyrical nonsense, music was okay, pretty forgettable, not sure I'd ever listen again but it was pleasant enough
Early ska/punk, this is my jam, shame it wasn't the right weather for it but still great stuff
Would be a 5 if there wasn't 2 min long randomness that imo breaks it up
Fine but mostly forgettable
Dull, just felt low effort and completely forgettable
washed over me bland wont listen to again
This is probably the best kind of this music around and it's great stuff but not likely to ever want to listen to again
Its okay, I have a issue with "lazy" vocals, musically pretty good but don't remember much after it finished
Just not my thing
4th pj album, it's alot more punky/rocky, gets a bit preachy in places and drones on in some but overall pretty good
Offensively dull
More enjoyable than I expected
Camp 90s pop, some real bangers here
Goth as hell, some real bangers
Camp, cheesy, a tad samey but I loved it
The most enjoyable out of all the elvis albums
Straight up, this shouldn't be on this list, its more audio book than album, and the same song is played twice...
Conjures some very strong imagery of a seedy new York jazz club in middle of winter
Perfectly pleasant, until he insisted on getting the audience to sing but had to tell them the lyrics and rushed saying the line. I don't care about hearing Katie from Miami voice...
Trash absolute trash. One of the worst things I've listened too, unbeleive how one of the lyrics is about sleeping with underage girls but it's fine because at least he isn't underpaid, get in the fucking sea you racist waste of skin
This was pretty bland, had a few okay tracks but I can't remember them now
I'm sure this is wonderful, but its not my jam
I enjoyed the hits and one song had a real ska vibe to it, but I think I expected more
Eh, kinda dull, it seems super typical sinatra
Very Disney esq, a tad to Jesusy, not bad just don't think I'll listen to again
Festive as fuck, got this at the right time (23rd) but no chance I'll listen too again...
Pretty bland and forgettable
Great grungy stuff here
Did not get this, totally bland
I didnt expect to enjoy this as much as exodus...but I did
That free-form guitar songs a bit shit innit...rest was relatively pleasant, clearly talented artists, enjoyable voice
Can't believe how disappointed I was by this, it droned on, never picked up steam and I have zero reccolation of it
Biased as I grew up with this and am a slipknot fan. I love this, its gritty, violent and at times beautiful, you can tell they are trying to find their niche so it's not their greatest album (Vol 3 IMO) but it's still great work that goes on a tad too long
Errm fine, largely forgettable
Fabulous stuff here's goes on a tad too long but still very enjoyable
Fine, strong message still relevant today, but music just passed me by
Yeah fun enjoyable
Perfectly pleasent, totally forgettable country/rock
Exceptional stuff, first time done cover to cover and I get the hype
Hard, enjoyable, pretty filthy at times
Its fine, but why her over so many other similar artists from the same period
This reminds me of a very specific time of getting absolutely battered on white lightning with likeminded vagabonds and belting Jenny was a friend of mine at the top of our lungs. So this review is very bias, but it did bring a smile to my face. The actual album is fine it drops of hugely in the second half but (despite it being overplayed) I do quite like Mr Brightside and somebody told me.
So this is weird as fuck, it's starts off as a instrumental album which I was like yeah, cool I can get on with this. Then a female vocalist comes in for one track who is great...then...I think a new album starts playing because Weller (I think) starts rapping...and it's the worst fucking thing you've ever heard. Imagine if the super weird guy who works in finance was trying to do a rap ...are you cringing into yourself? Because that's what happened to me. Then it's a weird love song, then it's a weird Frank Sintra esq thing...its so all over the place. Its 3.5 so rounding it up to a 4...but fuck me that rap is awful
Hard to understand the context, musically...okay, hate the imagine cover
No comments needed
Caribbean cruise ship jazz, fine, not my thing
This was okay, kinda folk acoustic stuff, just feel that if I wanted to listen to this kind of music I likely wouldn't choose this artist or album
This is rather good, Jack White is exceptionally talented, although seven nation army is the most overplayed song
I had this and thought it was shit
Rocked out, really fun and a tad silly at times
Great female punk rock,
Soul, gospel, opens with a banger and its pretty solid the whole way through
Surprised how bored I got listening to this
Few decent songs, voice kinda grating at times
Free-form jazz is not my thing. Mad flex being 40 mins but only 2 songs though
I was surprised to know how many of these songs I knew as covers, its great stuff though, really great voice and beautiful piano work
Voice ranged from great to kinda annoying, but really found myself getting into this, a bit silly at times but also oddly powerful
Mid....as I think the kids say now
I think I might be wrong as the Internet loves this...but I struggled so bad, I found it so limp and lackluster and his voice was aggravating, 2 stars, but there is a part of me that think I may have not given it a real chance...
Really enjoyed this
Disappointingly dull at times, starts off strong and sultans is great
Fine, doubt I'll listen too again
The flows really well, if not feeling slightly dated now. Still most influential grime artist
Intense story, but not a great album
Brilliant, camp af, but really fun stuff
Man under the thumb is so creepy, enjoyed most of the rest
Wanky and pretentious but still very much enjoyed
Driven mostly by his vocals this is very pleasant
Can't explain why I enjoyed this but I did, disco af
Lyrically with is going on. Its interesting stuff, will listen again
Godfather of rap, this is incredible lyrics that have transcended time
Loud, obnoxious, and honestly kinda boring
Kinda boring, renegades of funk is okay buy RATM did it better
Truly great stuff
I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did, has some really great songs bit alot of annoying "skits" and some very poor songs
What more can be said about this, looses it a bit in the middle but starts and ends really strong
Some really strong songs in first half but tails off hugely
I have a soft spot for this type of music, think it takes real talent to produce. Brilliant stuff enjoyed majority
Brilliant, rocks like nothing else and some truly timeless songs on here. Put my love into you and give the dog a bone kinda suck to loses a star for that
Urgh jazz
Great, catchy, cheese af, very man hating, but fun
Somewhat ironically as I had Taylor Swift yesterday, today was interrupted by Mr Kayne West with Collage Drop out. He's a knob, but I just cannot deny the talent, its such a good album and slow jamz is a masterpiece. Loses a star because he is such a knob so it's 4
Truly masterful work, has the occasional moment where it drags on, but a true genius at work here
Offensively dull, voice overpowered by instruments
Faithless but no where near as good. Has some real solid 5 star songs but also alot of fluff
Jesus christ this was dull. Lyrically sounds like he found most of them in fortune cookies. Every song drones on the same way, and it sounds like he has a cold
Really not my thing, kinda dull, slow and rather melancholy.
I felt pretty cool listening to this, feel its pretty telling that the best songs on it have other artists, starts to lose its way towards the end. Still good stuff
Its...okay, not really much to say about it
Pleasant but also... kinda dull
Not sure this is for me, pretty forgettable and dull
More "ibiza" than I expected, but still good, opening track worried me a bit but picked up after that
I honestly believe this is one of the greats. Lupes eloquent delivery mixed with some sick beats makes this a true masterpiece
This sucks... waterfalls isn't even that good
Staggeringly beautiful
Mellow, super chilled, really pleasant
It's okay, reminds me a bit of Florence and the machines, didn't grip me though. 3 it's not bad, just not very interesting IMO
Very repetitive and extremely dull
Greatest hits band whole album is too much
Interesting, I think nevermind is better l, but this has some really good bits, still struggled at times
This had some interesting songs, but overall a bit too folky for me
Quintessential dnb pretty good, I get why people hate it though
Pretty surprising how much I enjoyed listening to this, great voice, catchy tunes
Dad rock as hell, it's opening track is great, then there's a few tracks of fluff, then from smoke on the water onwards its really solid, the ending track when a blind man cries was a real shock
Loud, it's okay, much better metal out there, but gather theses guys were pioneering, still rate on how it sounds
When I saw this, I groaned, French, average rating of 2.3...is this another Serge Gainsburg. I was wrong, I loved this, French industrial metal...ie French Rammstien, sign me up
Chilled out trip hop, yeah I dig this
So I shockingly had to look up the morrissey hate and he does sound like a massive tool, bit frustratingly this album is very good (albeit sober AF)
Pleasant, but completely forgettable
Not sure Mr Waits is for me, it fine, just mo chance I'll listen again
Its u2, found this largely dull and safe
I see alot of Portishead and massive Attack, this is my kinda jam The album above (Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room by Dwight Yoakam) was incorrectly reviewed as this when it should have been a 2
I see alot of Portishead and massive Attack, this is my kinda jam
Its shit, really struggled with this
Its perfectly fine, overly happy but still good stuff, not in best moods when listening so might reflect in score
Holy shit this is bad, it's a 1, his voice is fucking dreadful, the instrumentals were...fine I guess but his voice is so obnoxious it removes any positive I can give about it
Fantastic stuff but knew this already, origins I think is better but this is still a belter
Its the most indie rock middle of the road album, think if Coldplay did more indie, it's totally inoffensive and bland, but its not bad so it's 2.5 rounded up to a 3
Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this, I think it largely washed over me and had nothing that really defined it
Shit
Unsure why this is here, its bland and plenty of other bands like this but better
What more can be said about this, it the best bowie I've had (so far)
Method man knows how to spit, this had some really solid beats, the start of the album seems to have his voice masked by the music but that sorts its self out later
It sounds like group of mostly white guys doing a early learning center version of reggae. The cold play of Reggae. Based on this no I didn't enjoy it, found it largely bland and forgettable and was glad when it finally ended
What an album, yeah the songs are super long, yeah sometimes they feel like they may waffle a bit, but it just makes me feel something I cant explain and I honestly think this is truly masterful
Started strong but tailed off and some songs were actively annoying
Hell of an album, gets very campy at points and it's one of the greats
How do I review this, speakerboxxx is a 5, its really catchy the rapping is top notch, and any song with killer Mike can do no wrong. The love below, I just cannot get into this, u hated the intro, I think alot of Andre 3000 "jokes" fall flat and I don't think much of it is memorable. So that's a 2. It shouldn't be a double album either this makes it too long and I like artists that respect my time.
80s as anything but really solid stuffbin here. You have to be in a certain mood I think to enjoy but I was and I did
Reminds me of a very specific time in mu life. I actually think it pretty solid catchy pop, the opening 4 tracks are great and the ending track is same level
I think this wax too weird for me, future me reading this comment, check out the wiki story for this album, it's wild
I think I like the idea of Bjork more than I like her, its fine, but mostly washed over me
It likely I'm just not educated enough in music to get this, but the top review talks about discovering keyboard samples on your cassio keyboard and that's all I can hear now
Objectively this is shit personally I kinda love it. Reminds me of been a angsty teen
Unexpected, very campy pop, sounds like scooter might bust in at some point
I just dont think u2 are for me, got really bored listening to this and felt his voice agitating. Prolly southpark and Bill Bailey ruined this for me
She can't sing, so many people disagree with me but she's super nasal and shrill. I guess lyrically it's pretty powerful and has a interesting story behind it which includes where she suffered server laryngitis... that explains alot
Fantastic, hits all the right notes and just brilliant stuff
Shockingly poor, I'm sure she has a great voice but this doesn't show it, the song with Jay Z is terrible, it almost feels like if AI generated r&b. Many more talented artists who fit a similar genre should be included before this trash.
Incredible beats mixed with some great rapping, let down by flavour flav. It's very old school rap which I've always struggled with a bit anyways
Possibly the best thing to come out of Wu-Tang. Beats are incredible, rapping is pretty good with some minor downfalls
Its jazz and hoo-boy is it Jazz.... its pleasant, its not my thing, it goes a bit all over the place at times and there are a few songs where the drummer seems to only want to hit the cymbal...but its unoffensive 2.5 rounded up to 3
Really solid, it's loud, brash, and unapologetically metal AF 🤘
Jesus this is heavy, I've just read some of the wiki on it and it's got a real heart wrenching back story to it. It's staggeringly beautiful, real minimalistic, but lyrically powerful. You 100% have to be in a certain mood to listen to this
Its very good, it's my first real exposure to Elton John outside of Disney songs and the few hits. Tails off towards the end but mostly positive
What else can be said, this is really rather good
The premises is its an album about a fictional crime that happened. The reality is its lots of obnoxious noises, punctuated by the occasional scream. It's really uncomfortable to listen too even though it's all instrumental and I've no clue who it's made for.
Tough listen but very moving
Its somewhat interesting lyrically, and I think he talks about masturbation alot, but inspite of this its largely samey and pretty dull. Doubt I'll listen too again
Uber 80s pop, not really my thing
A band I've heard of, but never listened. It's good. Lyrically this is heavy and reading the wiki it's really dark at times. However its really weirdly almost upbeat, and a great listen.
I bloody loved this. Every song was good or great, will deffo listen to again
Find, I begrudgingly admit that u2 can occasionally do some great stuff
Its wonderful, French trip-hop jazz thats reminds of Nujables. It's a 5 even though I've no idea what he's rapping about
HERE IN MY CAR, I FEEL SAFEST OF ALL, I CAN LOCK ALL MY DOORS, ITS THE ONLY WAY TO LIVE IN CARS. You know how that song is now stuck in your head and you hate it? Yeah imagine a whole album like that. Mediocre, repetitive shit.
Its...alright, not too sure I get why its on the list but it's not bad, it's just kind of is. 2.5 rounded up to a 3
Nope
I wanted to like this more than I did, its perfectly fine, just nothing really special
This is good, but has alot of fluff. I know there are significantly better albums out there by this band, so odd choice to put on list
I really enjoyed this. Hey Joe cover was great
Not as good as fragile, still enjoyable but felt like it dragged at times
What's even to say. Truly something special
I'm not sure if his voice is genius or annoying, either way I'm pretty sure I didn't love this but didn't think it was terrible
Truly something special
Washed over me, not my thing too Jazzy
Can I really form a strong opinion on an album so short. Think I'll remember this album but never listen too again
Cool as hell, really moody stuff at times but has so much depth and variety. Brilliant stuff
Its fine, there are better artist out there and this album is a bit bi-polar in places where she goes gangster and then tries to be soulful, it's not bad, but its very British and I can see it not appealing to a wider audience, its a 3 because if I ever wanted to listen to this style but more rap then lil simz exists but if I want more mellow then Alicia Keys exists
There is a great band here, unfortunately it's dominated by Billy corgan and I really don't think he can sing. It's whiney and drones on in all the wrong ways.
This is rough. It's like they sampled a fax machine, old ADSL router and then smashed in the scaps that Beck decided was "too weird". It has no right to be anywhere near this list and I can only assume that the editor is related to this band somehow. Described as Noise Rock, I describe it as utterly shit
Damn this is really good. Its psychedelic in all the right ways funky to boot and super catchy. Sunshine of your love sounds like a song I've heard a million times but had no idea who did it. Only just read its Mr Clapton. Its fabulous
Its okay, it's catchy at times, it feels largely bland. It's not bad (pun intended) but just feels a bit safe and I can't ever think of a time where I will put this on again.
Fabulous stuff here, if I had to nitpick the last song (jungleland) goes on too long, but overall this was really good
I think there are other artist that I would prefer to listen to that do a similar style. Having said this, it's not bad, I just can imagine choosing to listen to it again
Jesus wtf was thus...
Starts off quite strong and was like this could be great. Now I've finished it I am not too sure. I think the title track kinda sucks but there is some great stuff here....its arguably better than a 3, but not too sure I can justify a 4...
I got so bored listening to this, nothing really grabs me and as soon as it ended I pretty much forgot everything about it. I am shocked at how revered it is for something so bland. Its a 2 because its not Serge
Lyrically some what questionable, its slight off putting and I'm not a huge lover of his vocals, but overall I think I did enjoy this,
This is brit trance/electro music. Super repetitive and not very good.
Occasionally good stuff in here, but nothing special and the fact I've forgotten about most of it when I've come to write my reviews says it all
Jazz Salsa and it started off really strong, its not hugely my thing but I think if I ever wanted to listen to a funky jazz salsa album, this would be my pick. Gets a bit samey at times, but overall I think I enjoyed it. It's would be a 3.5 so it's rounded up
The most interesting 3 I'll ever listen too. Was great to hear were alot of the original samples from some of my favorite rappers came from, I can see why they just selected parts of the song rather than the entire thing. Some of its okay, but I'll never want to listen to again
Steve Tyler is a fucking creep, but this album does kinda rock so fuck it
Beautiful, Vincent is a true highlight and will listen to this for years to come
This is one of the worst things Ive ever listened to
Fun, its a bit like King of Leon with more zazz.
This was an interesting listen, I'm quite big into my synthwave/retrowave and think the last few years have really had some great stuff come out. Alot of this probably has to do with the PSB but I've never actually sat down and listened to it. It's a tricky one to grade as I do like it, but I just feel if I wanted to listen to this style of music I'd listen to so many other artists...
I don't like this. I think when Mr Kedis actually sings rather than doing his interpretation of white man rap its okay (under the bridge, I could have lied being highlights) but the first song is obnoxious and the title track just isn't very good.
This is pleasant but totally unremarkable
Bland
Ehhhh, it's not bad, most of the songs are too long and I think something in the water is obnoxious and lady cab driver just feels a bit cringe. I think i expected to like this and have come away feeling somewhat underwhelmed, its a 3 but only just
I think this is pretty great, its varied enough that it kept my interest the entire time, street worm is a certified banger and I've added to my general playlist. Few duff tracks but enjoyed more than I disliked
What else can be said, incredible
I think this is probably more known for its album cover than anything else. I started off enjoying this as its gurlpunk and ska, but then it continued, and it didn't stop, and I wasn't sure if I was listening to the same song as before. It has its moments and I'm glad I listened, but its a 3 because I'll never listen again
"Muum can I buy this Rancid album" "You have a Rancid album at home"
This was an experience... so side one (as the kids say) was very very good, a tad pretentious but I dug it. The side 2 started and after 15 mins of the 17 min track I honestly thought the umbongo theme was about to start playing, then an 11 min track happens where a man wails down the mic for the majority of it and because of how terrible side 2 was it loses 2 stars
This seems to have alot of hate, all the most recent reviews are 1 and 2's. It's finnne if not totally bland, I can get why people hate it because it never really does much but its no where near as offensive as some of the other things on this list.
I have ears that work so this is a 5 and I'll fight anyone who says differently
I've already forgotten about this
I actually enjoyed this alot more that I expected. Its slightly poppy slightly punky has some great brass in bits
Its weirdly empowering and still so topical today, its fun that he subverts the usual misogyny of rap and turns it around (see Bitches 2 as example) some of the skits are unintentionally hilarious, some are intended to be funny and some are just cringe, so for that it loses 1 star. 4 in total
This is weird as fuck. Its not on anything, as in you can't stream it from apple music or Spotify, there's even a disclaimer saying so, I found I think all of it on YouTube. It's mostly in German but its like soilder marching tunes and then slightly off lounge jazz then some women deep throating the mice its all a bit much for 6am
After the first song I was ready to hate this, but I grew on me the more it went on. I'm really unsure about his voice at times. I think I liked it more than didn't so its a high 3 but not sure it can scrape a 4
More enjoyable than expected tails off in end
Oh this is really good, like really good. It seems quite well timed as it's got a fucking organ playing which is very goth/Halloween and it slaps.
I think I wanted to hate this as I have a weird dislike of everybody hurts. But once you passed that it's actually pretty solid. I'm not sure if I would listen to again but I think it's a 4
This is alot of fun, starts to lose it towards the end, but overall this was a great listen 4
I kinda getz this, and if I wanted to listen to this style again, I would choose this
Powerful voice but think I would prefere to listen to other artists doing a similar style
I enjoyed this, varied instruments and kept my interest
Its too long and samey, it has some good moments but no where near enough for me to want to listen to again.
I was very ready to condem this as I honestly don't think the cover of man who sold the world is actually very good. Having said that, I did really enjoy listening to this. I hate the long downtime between each song and think there are some weak tracks on there but come as you are and where did you sleep last night are hauntingly beautiful.
I'm not the target audience for this and found it largely annoying and a tad preachy
Lyrically I guess kinda interesting, vocally annoying and dull
Furiously sexually charged camp nonsense but I loved it
I think there's some great stuff here somewhere, but it takes some looking, it's not bad though
This is fine, its punky and varied, but I just think there is better stuff on this list and think this will be quite forgettable
Great hard hitting, perfect DIY music
I'm always confusing the Pet Shop Boys with another band and I expect a capella style band and then get some cheese pop instead and it will always throw me. Regardless, this is fiiine its 3 because I'm not sure I'd ever listen to again
Weird
Eh its short, but pretty forgettable
This is my most hated kind of rap, its got no bite or anything that grips you. I'm not saying all rap has to be about bitches and ho's (see Lupe Fiasco) but it needs to have something of interest, this reminds me of the Donald Glover skit about hold rappers writing raps about buying hats. These guys would be better off doing a gospel album. I hated this but its not as bad as Serge so it's 2
Marcus Garvey by Burning Spear...which sounds backwards but I don't think it is. So I've always claimed to like reggae, but really I mainly mean I like Ska and the Marley's. This was great to listen too, really catchy without getting samey, variety of instruments, lyrically powerful. It's a 4
Eh I really don't think this is great
This just scrapes a 4, and that's based entirely off the hits being real bangers on this album. There's some real trash, 97 Bonnie and Clyde is particularly egregious, but guilty concious, my name is and role model are peak Eminem. I know there is a better album coming by Mr Mathers
This isn't as bad as I expected, but I had very very low expectations. Its catchy at points and seems to be produced fine. Its made me feel like a strong powerful bootlicious woman who don't need no man, but regardless its a 3
....this was really really rough. Lyrically it's nonsense, vocally it's poor, the music sounds like it's played in a kings court during the tudor era but Henery VIII was mid way through decapitating the lute player. Its awful and I'm not sure I finished it (as not on spotify) and Frankly I don't care...
Big band jazz, it's fine just not my thing
Maybe it's because I'm in a rare good mood this week but I really struggled to get into this. Its very melancholic and dour. I also found it a bit dry as there wasn't much in the way of instruments...I guess minimalist is the term but truthfully I just found it sad and a bit dull...
To add to my paranoia that my phone is listening to me...I am seeing Mr Cent tomorrow on the 25th anniversary of this album....so that's weird. I really love this album, it's encapsulates the era of early 2000 gangster rap and the beef between some of the biggest rapping names around, it has some great guests on it and the production value is immense, hence why you still hear in da club on radios still. Putting my objective hat on, it's slightly dated at points and 90% of his songs are him bragging about surviving being shot. I think I have to give it a 5, but will appreciate that it's likely a biased review
Surf's Up by The Beach Boys. This was a real surprise, was expecting surfing USA got a lyrically hard hitting rock album. Student Demonstration Time has been added to my general rotation of songs as I think its brilliant, over all the entire album had me engaged and was such a surprise
Not hugely my jam, a few moments I found myself getting into this but not enough that I think I would ever listen too again
From memory this was a shocking hit for my colleage who hates folk... I dont get it. It's okay, very folky, I don't think it's bad but it didn't blow me away either. It's very much a 2.5 which I'll be nice and round up to a 3. The album cover made me laugh though
Very solid, John barleycorn must die is better but still great stuff
This was fun, a bit punky a bit all over the place, but mostly really enjoyable
Unashamedly cheesy nonsense, that's great fun to drive to. It's got it flaws but I really enjoyed this
This dude is horny AF, just contsant innuendos and then a bit half way where he talks about orgasms. Slightly full on for a Wedsnesay morning, but despite that I really enjoyed the hits that I knew and even some of the longers songs (13 mins+) kept my interest
I dont really have strong feelings either way about this....its perfectly fine if bordering dull, there's a random song that last 18 mins which is too long...its 2.5
I think its one of the worst things I've listened too. I hate how much he plays into the Cockney aspect and feel like he really hams it up, lyrically his links between lines are very poor and feel super forced, I don't think the beats are that interesting... fine it tells a story, but it tells a story that I don't think is very interesting. I also wish to state that I quite like spoken word rap (Scoobius pip, Sage Francis and Aesop Rock being highlights) but this is just bloody awful.
This is my thing, it's kinda electronic rock synthwave nonsense and it's my jam. Reminds me slightly of Massive Attack and Portishead but arguably even more unobtrusive. I can see me playing this again after a long day at work with the lights off and a tall glass of apple tango
Its fantastic
This is a bit shit
Beautiful and haunting, can see how she inspired so man
so like...fine I get they defined an era of music...and I get they are huuugely influential, but I just cannot get on with the style and formular of rap. I don't want to call is basic, but it feels very dated now. I wanted to enjoy this but I just couldn't
A third of my way though my journey I was like eh...its a 3. I'm not sure why, but it really started to grow on me and I'm still thinking about it now. So it's a 4 because I think it deserves another listen. Lyrically it's fucking weird, there's a song which I think is about ice cream favors, and a song about Jesus hating minorities...
Just not my jam, I will always struggle with C&W no matter how hard I try.
So Nick Cave has been pretty inconsistent for me, having said that and looking back at my scores, I've liked more than I havent. Fortunately this falls into the liked category. It starts off by kicking you in the face with Papa won't you leave and just keeps momentum the entire way. It doesn't out stay its welcome, it a 5 from me
I didn't get this. Its live so I'm already not a huge fan of live albums, and honestly I didn't think it was very good, his voice gets masked by the loud "music". It had a few okay tracks but more just glossed over me. There was a funny moment where he was singing the chorus for show me the way (I think) and he turned the mic to the crowd and it was just dead air. Its a 2, I expect he has better non live albums but I will never listen to this again
Hate this. Has such limp dick energy. Just think its "edgy" music for mums too listen too while doing the school run
Happy Sad Tim Buckley. Its okay, it drops off pretty quickly which is a shame. I will never choose to listen to this again
This is currently the lowest rated album on the list. It takes "industrial metal" a bit too literally and just sounds like someone in a factory hitting parts of it and recording it...its bad, really bad. I'm not even sure I can use the line but it's better than Serge because I'm honestly not sure it is
Bland middle of the road rock...its fine
Fantastic
Fine
A bit too folky for me, it had a few real shining tracks but mostly I found it just passed me by
Catchy and pretty great stuff. Light but varied enough to keep me engaged
Turns out I'm a Dylan fan and never new, discovering his albums has been a highlight of this project
Long, dull and very bootsncats. Not too sure why it's on the list as I could have died and never listened too it and I think it would have been fine.
It trys so hard to say something and fails so miserably, I get what it's trying to do (pro BLM and equal rights) but it just gets a bit dull and reparative. It's a 3 that should have been a 4
Mr Waits has been pretty consistent for me in that I can appreciate it, I'm just not sure its for me. This might be a first where it has a bagpipes solo....its fine, moody, and probably "cool" but I'll never put it on again.
Punky, but I'm not sure how good it actually is. Possibly I just wasn't in the mood for it but I found myself zoning out alot
I've been really trying to get into grime as it's a genre I know very little about, this is where I should have started. Great stuff m, hard hitting at times, overly cringe macho at others, but still enjoyed it
Lost In The Dream by The War On Drugs. Pretentious, songs go on too long, description of it us utter waffle and I loved it. It's moody but I felt quite cool listening to it. I can picture driving down route 66 at sunset listening to this. I want to own this
I'm not sure I got it, some of the songs where iggy is a bit more shouty and it has a bit of bite are okay, but the rest kinda passed me by and was quickly forgotten. I don't think it's for me and I wonder if it's only on this list because of the pedigree of both the artist involved.
Finnish dishwater tablets did an advert with a song that was pretty catchy and chill....yeah that but a whole album of it. Despite that, it's not bad it veers on dull at times but I can see it being great background music at like a refined dinner with people who use too many knifes and forks
Its exactly what you expect, as deep as a puddle and some face melting guitar, gets a tad samey but it's quite enjoyable, 3.5 rounded up to 4
Some what of a fitting title, as 20 mins into it, I was wishing someone would kill me. I don't think it's the worst thing I've listened to on this list, but it's top 5. Electronic waffle, which has the same beat playing for 8 mins. It's really terrible, and I turned it off after 30 mins as that was all I could endure
Its very similar to the van Halen album I had on two days ago, its fine you know what you are getting and I probably enjoyed it as much as I did the self titled one.
Effortlessly cool, I recognised absolutely none of it so was completely fresh to my ears. I dug this.
Moody and sometimes a bit camp at the same time. This album feels special, the hits are there and surprisingly still great, but this had me engaged from opening to end. Fantastic stuff
This is a cheese sandwich. It's perfectly pleasent and I'm not offended by it, but I would prefer some ham and pickle in it and if it could be a baguette that would be ideal too.... What was my point again.
This kept my attention and was pretty good but next morning I couldn't remember a thing about it
Hard to listen, mercifully short.
Its lyrically very very dated and its easy snoop who isn't a great rapper and dre...who has never been a fantastic lyricist...but the beats...the beats are timeless. If I had to nitpick it tails off towards the end and some of the skits could be dropped, but its a generational album. Its a 4, because Dre 2001 is just so much better
Kinda dull
I think the fall suck. Obnoxious vocals ruin what could be passable music
Its pleasant as far as folk/country goes, but its not my thing. I also can't tell if her voice is autotunned or if she's just layered her vocals twice, but its very noticeable at times. Not my jam however
Okay, but pretty bland
Its loud and obnoxious and extremely unapologetic for what it is, but its also not very good, its just kinda blends into one long track, there a few stand out songs, but I'd never choose to listen to this again and I much preferred roots.
Best CCR album so far but just not really my thing, a tad too swamp rocky, although I knew one or 2 songs
Pleasant advert music, zero bite but completely inoffensive
I have no clue who this is for, I can only think people on the brink of ODing from LSD would enjoy this. I've made the joke that this sounds like someone smashing their face into a cassio keyboard while all the settings are cycling, but this really does sound like that, it's shit I don't understand why it's here and people who like it scare me.
Inoffensive but largely bland, fine driving music but can't remember sod all about it now I'm several hours removed from it
It opens strong tales off a bit but I enjoyed the variety
Its country, so I expected to hate this. I'm as shocked as you are to say, I kinda dug it. It's almost like prog country (which isn't a thing I don't think) it's super varied, he's vocals/talking work really well with it. It's almost like what I think Tom Waites should be, simple vocals with interesting and varied music.
Funky af, track 2 is....tough, enjoyable but there's funkier stuff I'd prefer to listen to
It's....music. Its a women singing not very well with a slightly German accent. Musically it's quite dull and vocally far from impressive. It's a 2 because its not Serge
Highly Evolved by The Vines. I originally was going to decirbe this as Nivana but from Califonia and less suicidal. I have no just discovered they are Australian which is like Cali...but better. This is great, its fun, hits in the right places and is right up my ally
Brown Sugar by D'Angelo. Smooth as butter, creepy as Serge. Okay its not that creepy but its very thirsty and gets a bit grating after a while. Extra star for the song title Shit Damn Motherfucker, loses that star for chorus only being the lyrics, Shit , Damn, Muthafuckaah on repeat...although not sure what I expected
This album is phenomenal, I was never a GFK fan growing up and I feel like I missed out. Everything song is unique and tells a great story, there are too many skits as always but some are pretty funny and The Champ is a certified banger and goes in the general playlist.
Punky varied and pretty fun
Sea Change by Beck. Sad Beck is best Beck, sad Beck still bad beck.
Voice varied from great to kinda annoying, I think it suits alot of the songs but not all.
Is it cheating to add in loads of legends into your album? Despite that, it's pretty goof, but its weird I just can't ever see myself wanting to listen to this again. It's a 3 but it's potentially the highest 3 I can give
This sucked
So it's like Coldplay/stereophonics/Keane/snow patrol. It was a 3 because I guess I kinda get why people like it even if I find it bland...then why does it always rain on me started playing and I was like nope it's a 2
John Lydon other band, its weird. So it starts off very in your face kinda thrash punk for 9 mins which is too long and too thrashy, then he does a poem for 2 mins, the a song with the lyrics to the poem. All in all its not very good
This is actually pretty solid, nothing stands out as jaw droppingly great but nothing is truly terrible either, I enjoyed listening to it, wouldn't be offended if it was put back on
Weird but quite fun, not sure I'd listen to again but pleased I have now
Yep...thats deffo the beach boys, its fine but exactly what you'd expect and not really for me
I enjoyed the actual songs on this album. However there's alot of fluff and filler which slightly detracts from it and seems unnecessary.
Not really my kinda jam, but having said this it does kinda kick and I did find myself getting engaged, its Jazz but its not big band Jazz but its not wailing all over the place
It's techno so it's very repetitive, but I really go into it
Phenomenal voice, I really enjoyed this. I'd argue son of a preacher man is potentially the weakest song (although still great)
I wanted to like this so bad, but I just didn't, it's really weird and feels slightly nonsensical. Her voice gets super annoying at times and she often just makes nosies during the song
Too jazz for me
It's very happy....im not very happy. Its probably too nice and airy fairy for me. However she has a lovely voice even if his isn't and it's probably fine to listen too if you aren't dead inside.
The hits are great, rest is filler.
Objectively I know this isn't great, but I love it. Loud brash, nonsensical in your face noise
It's rush, its fantastic, it's 5
Wonderful camp noise, some real bangers on here too
I remember little of this the next day
Not bad but largely forgotten by next morning
This was very weird. I quite like ambient background music at time, but this was too background even for me. It's perfectly titled, but I just don't really get why it exists on this list
Couldn't understand a word of this but I really really enjoyed it. Very upbeat funky samba thing
It's the Eagles, it's great, it's got some hits but some real unknown gems
Meh, extremely repetitive and not great
Unbelievable voice, truly haunting at times, fantastic album
Waffling drivel that I will never want to hear again
Punched me straight in the nostalgia glands as starts with the original noise from the PS1. After that it continues with smooth, soul/hip-hop and its pretty solid. Some tracks kinda fade into background but overall this was a pleasant experience
Too jazz for my blood
Its the best Metallica album so far, but its too bloody long at 2 hours. I got though most of it and think if I was to cherry pick some of the songs it would be more enjoyable
Was a 2 then back to life came on and gave it a extra point
I sort of hate I liked this
This is dire is starts with a man screaming at you and gets no better. There's a few elements in a few songs that are...music, but the rest is shit. 2 because its not Serge
Perfectly acceptable music
The indiest pop that ever indieed. But you know what I didn't hate it, it was pretty catchy and had some fun songs even if lyrically it's complete nonsense.
I had a great time listening to this as it was super varied really catchy and she has a wonderful voice. Oddly, inspite of all this praise, I am not sure if I would ever choose to listen to it again. There's also one track which is feeling haunted as it has a man uncontrollably laughing during it which is very odd. I think I'm going to listen to her Spotify top 10 next.
Wondful punch in my face nostalgia.
Bland and forgettable but not bad
This is awful, the cover of American pie is possibly the worst thing I've heard. Such a surprise as the last 2 Madonna albums I got both got 5's. She can clearly sing, but why on earth she decided to (what I assume is) autotune the hell out of her voice is beyond me
It's ok
Great time listening to this, starts off strong, wavers a bit in the middle but ends strong, I really liked Cherokee
Its wildly all over the place and sometimes it's really bad, but I think when it hits its actually really good. The intro song also really reminds me of the legend of zelda video game. I think it hits as much as it missed so its a 3
I think I really enjoyed this, its etheral, chilled vibes kinda reminded me of a drive through America in a convertible
Eh I didn't like this as much as the others and his pretentious arrogance showed
So my Spotify now seems to love these guys and are shuffling into every playlist I have, Im not too mad I also dug this alot
Better than the last wilco album, still slightly lazy vocals bit quite enjoyable
This was a real blast to listen too
Jerez this was bad
Brilliant, thought provoking at times, could be a rimless one
Fine, but can't think I'll ever listen to this again
This was really solid and pretty fun
Not for me, too winey and country
This was fantastic, great energy it, she can really sing, the guests are on it just long enough without overpowering the song. It's super varied with some electronic/synth stuff going on. One or two duff tracks but hits more than is missed
Hard hitting emo thrash punk. Loved it
I ended up singing along with alot more than I thought thus it's getting a 4, however I like dirt and purple stain are a real blemish on that album
Its definitely music, I completely expect someone who know more about music than me to really love this as it give of that vibe. For my uneducated ears, its very Jazz and its the kinda Jazz you would play to make people think you like jazz. I don't really like Jazz so I'll stick with Limp Bizkit
Wow that man really loved his horse. This was alot more fun than I expected it to be, but it far too bloody long
So I think this was fun to listen too and I want to like this more than I did, but I just can never see myself wanting to put this on again, glad I've listened to it once however
I felt very cool listening to this, even if ut get a tad samey at points, reminds me of my skatepark days
Mam the vocals are weak in this. It shreads it's loud it's very old school metal let down by weak vocals
To me it's like trip goth, I was initially quite enjoying it but then it started to dip and become a bit of a slog then it kicks in with Aisha which I don't think I hated and certainly woke me up, but overall feelings are meh it's fine 2.5 rounded up to 3
This was amazing, every song was a banger, it was just the right length, cant wait to listen too again
it's like shit Bowie it's fine but I'm not really sure I get why it's here.
Pretty sure this is on my controversial artists now as the last album I had by him was a 1, but this was great, its deals with some real issues relevant at the time and still pretty relevant now without any of the slurs and vulgarity that rap does.
I enjoyed this alot, but its weird, I think now I've listened to it I'm pretty content to never listen to it again. The few tracks I vaguely knew are amazing and the rest of still good...but its really too old and "pure" for me to rate any higher than a 3
Dull, no idea why it's on this list
I think this is close to one of the worst things I've ever inflicted upon my unsuspecting ears, it's noisey, completely random trash and I hated it so much
This is offensively shit and should not be included on this is. The best tracks are where cee lo takes a back seat and the guest does the heavy lifting
This was great as i had just started my holiday in mexico.
I found this very interesting to listen too, had a weird kinda rock meets 60s vibe, a tad moody but overall it captured my attention
This was a tough listen but I do think it has some merits
Lyrically this is still so relevant, musically, not massively my thing but I didn't hate it, it's a 3
Reminded me of kate bush, really enjoyable stuff
Its okay, but feels a bit safe and bland at times
Enjoyable
Not my thing
Bloody fuck this was annoying, voice is kinda all over the place and just warrbles, piano is fine....and probably the best part of it.
Thrash punk, I quite enjoyed it, it hits hard, doesn't outstay its welcome and leave
Really enjoyed this which surprised me as not really got sonic youth before
I respect all these women, but this just isn't for me dawg
Exceptional stuff
This certainly was a chore (haw-haw), it drones on like nobodies business, there are a few highlights but they are few and far between and overall I just got bored.
Dull C&W most interesting thing was reading some info on the wiki page and I now can't even remember that
Sad music for sad people. You know what though, I actually enjoyed listening to this, it's certainly a mood killer but it's quite powerful and his voice suits the tone and subjects well. Original a 4 bur ended up listening to twice in a day so now a 5
Fun, rocky jazz fusion with random instruments sprinkled enjoy, enjoyed this alot more than expected
This was fantastic. If you basically imagine what a blues album should sound like and this is the blueprint (pun intended) I throughly enjoyed this and even when it finished and kept playing other similar artists I left it on an easy 5 a nice reminder of why I am doing this project
It's...okay, so cube has always been pretty good at spitting and isn't afraid to tackle some (sadly still current) issues, but I can't shake the fact that his beats aren't great and it does assault you a bit. I think it's a 3 from me as if I wanted to listen to his stuff I'd cherry pick songs and not an album
Not bad, just not something I would ever choose to listen too again
It's an incredible well written heartfelt pop album, if I HAD to nitpick, I wish it was a bit more rocky in places but the ending track is such a banger
So much sonic youth!!! This is the weakest by far
Good stuff but not as good as you've come along way baby
This was an experience to listen to, I totally get people not digging it, it's like a slightly whineyer radiohead, but I dug it alot. I'm interested enough to listen again and when it finished I found myself carrying on with the rest of his discography
It's certainly music, it fine, I've no clue why it's on the list and I've already forgotten alot of it
Apparently I quite like the Byrds as majority of albums from me have got a 4 (one got a 1 which was sweetheart if the rodeo). It continues, this is catchy and an enjoyable listen...do we need 5 Byrds albums... probably not, but they've been spaced far enough appart that I've not got completely sick of them...yet
It's okay, it's ambient techno babble, think massive Attack with no personality...
Weirdly boring, there is so much better Britney out there I really want to understand why this album
The World is a Ghetto by War. This was funky and got some real soul behind it. I think I was into it enough that I want to listen again. It's a 4 from me...but just
After lamenting last week that better living through chemistry isn't as good as you've come along way baby, I've had You've Come a Long Way Baby by Fatboy Slim. I still think I'm right and this is a lot better, I do agree that it can get very repetitive at times and I'm not a fan of a few songs as it feels like the drag on too long, but still good stuff and a 4
Really average, quickly fell into the background when driving the car this morning. Scrapes a 3
Reminded me of samba you would put in a video game or YouTube video but you didn't want to pay a licence for it so got a royalty free version
Great stuff, long but almost two separate albums
It's not bad, but it feels very all over the place and I think there's actually bad songs on it. It's a 3 because I think there's better Kate Bush out there and I think I had higher expectations for this
I actually think this is bland to the point of almost being offensive. The first song is okay, but it deteriorates quickly into background noise.
Great beats, lyrically pretty interesting, no idea that RATM song was a cover from this album, overall really enjoyed
Shit
I liked some of but hated parts too, its a weird and wild ride, the good is okay, but the bad is really poor
I didnt hate this but it's just not what I would ever choose to listen too again
I need to try and be objective as possible here. So I hate the random skits at the end of every bloody song and they go on far too long and that detracts from the album as a whole...but the subject matter, Kendricks rapping ability, the beats, all so good. Its a 4 that could have and should have been a 5 Me trying to justify why it's not a 1 too the baby boomers at work Okay going on a tedtalks here. It genuinely does tackle the issue we all have with rap (misogyny, glorifying gang culture, drug culture and the violence associated to that) and really delves into how Kendrick was influenced by all this growing up and how it shaped him into a person he didn't like and he was lucky enough to be able to escape this by focusing on his music career, but he is lucky as most young black men in the ghetto don't have the luxury. The way Kendrick can we've so many double meaning into each verse still makes me think he's lyrically so gifted. He also has Drake on some tracks which was a real surprise to me as they absolutely hate each other now. TL;dr Kendrick good rap honestly. Reader.. they still think it's a 1...
Each song I think a enjoyed alot and it started off very strong, it did start to drag and wander towards the end, but overall I think I enjoyed this
Not the worst thing I've listened too, but strong contender. It's one of those arty pretentious wank albums that makes noise and calls it music, song 2 (not the blur one) is offensive to my ears, it's shit and I want to burn it.
Sort of punky, I enjoyed this a decent amount, not 100% sure I'd ever listen to again but it was fun
I mean it's okay, it's also only 17 mins long so I wasn't able to for a strong opinion either way
This fuckkng rocked, really enjoyed this, Mike Patton and his vocal range is incredible. Shout out to the video "The Darkness" where the darkness is voiced by him
I had a fun time listening to this, I am not sure its anything special, but my ears liked and the brain released the happy chemicals
Eh, back to not really getting U2
Honestly, I think this is kinda wanky, I guess it's not bad and it's probably just not my thing but it's too cheesy and feels like it should just be playing in the background of tesco.
I had a good time listening to this, it sometimes goes on a bit too long , but its bluesy and cool and I enjoyed it.
It's ambient kinda trance chill vibes and I'm all about that, shocked I've never listened to this before, there's one real duff track
Okay, so I'm putting it out there, every step you take is fucking creepy and I hate it alot, also wth is going on with mother.... But having complained, this is really solid poppy fun, it gets stronger as it goes on
Really solid swing jazz kinda thing. I recognised the voice, turns out it's the monkey from Jungle book.
It's funky and bluesy and it's very pleasant, but I can't shake the feeling that I don't think it's essential listening and if I wanted to listen to this style I would choose other things.
It's kinda what I needed this morning as it's dance/trance/house which feels like great gym music....man does it start to drag though.
Never done this top to bottom before (despite it only being 35 mins long). Great the whole way through, paticularly big fan of Station to Station and wild in the wind.
Like this is fine, I quite enjoyed listening to it, but I really don't get why its essential listening, what does it do that's "special"
Weird one as I quite liked this kinds house meets 60s vibe, but I've not a clue why it's "essential" and on this list. It's going to be a 3 because it does drag towards the end
Weird and fantastical. I enjoyed more than I didn't
Enjoyable stuff
Fantastic album cover and the album as a whole is really enjoyable
In the same year that Illmatic came out, we also got this, it feels so dated, some of the themes it tried to tackle are okay, but overall this wasnt my jam
As the kids say, this is a "vibe". It's my kinda thing where it's a bit trancey and sythy, the vocals are a tad hit or miss
Dude loves his horse alot, just not sure I get this, musically kinda interesting but lyrically just a bit weird.
Just not really my thing
As live album this really slaps, I might just be in a good mood but I think I'll listen to this again
It's like medieval kinda folk music...the more I listened to it the more I hated it.
Ohh I liked this, it's felt easy to just lose yourself in it, not every song was fantastic, but it kept me engaged the entire way through, it's a 4 but it was bloody close to a 5
Previous REM has really surprised me, I expected it to be whiney and a bit poppy and just a bit annoying (mainly due to only exposure was everybody hurts) and I've actually really enjoyed it. This however, is whiney, a bit poppy and kinda annoying
Turns out I quite like radiohead, this is a surprise to me. This is one of the weaker albums but still pretty solid
Today i had the much more interesting truth by Jeff beck, bluesy cool vibes I enjoyed this alot, the random greensleves is a bit random, but yeah really enjoyed this so think it's getting a 5
've had one pixes album before and found it underwhelming. This however was fantastic, I can see why it influenced so many people, it's a 5 as I've already listened to it twice today
Meh, it's was okay
Bit odd at times but overall enjoyed
Few okay songs on this, but honestly, it's pretty generic indie from that time...its not bad, just hardly important, 2.5 rounded to a 3
This varied wildy from amazing voice to God this is whiney, it's so bi-polar
It's perfectly fine old school rap, not a huge favour flav fan, but the beats are solid and the rapping is passable
Movies by Holger Czukay. It's different, and that's about the only positive thing I can say about this. I feel like I've made the review about a kid smashing his face into his new Casio keyboard before, but it really applies here, pigs onik, thunder claps, sirens wail, man hums and it all gets put together under the thinly veiled noise that it's claiming is 'music". One of the worst things I've listened to I turned it off
Pretty fun stuff here
Beautiful voices, I feel the live aspect didn't help this however, I actually sought out some her studio stuff after this and it's worlds better
My favourite public enemy album so far
I listened to this but cant tell you anything about it
As Elvis goes it's solid and enjoyable, but I'm not really a huge Elvis fan
This was rough AF, theres a pretty good guitar solo in one of the songs. Then a kazoo kicks in, then it just beeps for 2mins then I think something dies, then a fax machine boots up, it's dogshit, I didn't finish it and I never will 1
Enjoyable and recognised more than expected
I loved this, the 80s vibes just dripped off this and it climaxes in a banger of a song, campy OTT and cheesey AF
Not many of her well known hits on here but she's got a cracking voice, I was into this alot, it's a 4 because there's maybe a few weak tracks and I think her other album is better
Ultimate rockNroll, loved all of this from start to finish, it's unbelievably dumb, but it's so much fun and slightly campy, but you can sing along and so many songs are just belters
Have never heard of The Go-Go's and this album is amazing, it's kinda punkish, it's got a bucket load of energy and lasts just long enough without overstaying. I think it's a other 5 which may make this my best week ever
Not my favourite talking heads album but I still think I enjoyed more than I didn't, does veg a bit weird at times
Eh, better bands were doing better stuff at the same time this came out. It's not bad, it's just nothing really special or defining about it.
Pleasant enough, not really my thing but glad Ive listened too, just doubt I ever will again
Joan Baez by Joan Baez. Reminds me of very early Disney music, where the women sings as high pitched as she can and her voice does that slightly annoying warble noise. I kinda hate it
So I quite enjoyed listening to this as it was harder and heavier than I expected it to be for the time it came out. But I'm not sure it was anything special. After going on their wiki it seems this was the "first" metal album, which makes sense as to why it was heavy, but it feels like it's on this list because of that rather than the quality of music, I guess it's a 3
Its exceptionally good isn't it. I've not really jelled with Mr Wonder yet, but this album changed my opinion
This was a surprise, jazzy but not complete random noises, I found myself really getting into this
Subject matter is shit, vocals are shit, the beats are...fine, theres one okay song but I hated alot of this, I then navigated to the Wikipedia and found out that our Doctor is a actually homicidal, extraterrestrial, time-traveling gynecologist and surgeon and I hate it even more because of this, it does explain the opening track being noises from a porn film. Fuck this noise
Dad rock to the extreme, fun mindless noise, it's simple and dumb but that's fine
Yeah it's fine
I do not understand why this is on the list, it's not bad, but it feels a bit soulless and like I've already heard alot of it from other people. Again it's not bad, but it's instantly forgettable and just not sure why it's on the list
This was okay, I don't remember much of it
This hit so hard, his lyrics are sometimes graphic and a bit intense, but the ending song is one of the greatest ways to end an album
Just dandy, but nothing id play again
I found this rather dull
This had more depth to it than I think I was originally going to appreciate, it's good I expected just country and western fluff but yeah a suprise to me, just scrapes a 4 as not sure how often I would listen to this
I like the exorcist bit, but then it waffles and he slowly starts talking about what instruments are being played and once they are all in it's okay again, but that's just track 1. Them track 2 was largely forgeable. It's a 3 because of the start of track 1 and the end of track 1
This album contains both rock and soul equally and that's just nifty
Right I'll get this out the way now, I don't like Kings of Leon and think of them in a similar way as Coldplay, they do one pretty good song (closer) because it was a completely different sound for them....so I don't like this album, it's generic British indie from 2003 and I struggled to listen to all of it, 2 because it's not Serge
Holy shit this is what I'm hear for. I had to look up the genre and the best description I saw for it was tex mex. It's sort of lofi kinda jazz kinda light rock with mexican influences and it's fucking brilliant
I quite like talking heads, this is one of the weaker albums but it's still pretty solid
Don't get it, music is...ehhh okay but shockingly bad vocals.
Ever thoughts how Andy's mums toys are also probably called woody and buzz?
I've weirdly always struggled with Bowie and I really want to get "it". This...this I got
Interesting to listen too, unsure when id listen again but glad I've been exposed to this
This was truly bizarre and not really in a good way. Every time I thought I'd find myself getting into it, it would end, or change or some lyrical content was zap me straight back, I don't think this is very good
I dig this, it's like girl rock punk it keeps you engaged great voices, great music
This was darker than I expected, its pretty good but I think I went in with the mindset of it being sexy and smooth and its really not, it get a tad too preachy, but I think I was interested and enjoyed it
This wasn't my thing it started so weird, picked up a bit then just found myself getting distracted
Incredible stuff, RIP Keith. This album is just none stop, punch you in the face, adrenaline filled noise and I'm here for it
Yeah I loved this, Come on Eileen is fine if not super over played but the rest of the album is really solid
I had very low expectations for this as I was expecting some waffle folky nonsense, I was wrong and surprised, its got a bit of rock, a bit of ska, a bit of blues, its good stuff
Just noises
Delightfully batshit it's ambient and acousticy. Your dictionary sucks and lyrically sounds like it was written by a 14 year old who thought it sounded deep, but overall I got into this
Meh I mostly enjoyed this to hear the original samples that better songs use (see daft punk). It's a tad too disco for me and every song goes in for too long. Good Times does not need to be 8 mins long
Is this one of the worst things I've ever listened too?....well yes actually it is. I am listening to this while in a waiting room in essex to check if I have broken my foot, and honestly I wasn't sure the experience could be much worse I thought I'd put this on too "pass the time". Reader, this was a mistake
This was great, kinda punk kinda ska, I can see this being in regular rotation
Fine, just sort of glazed over me, but I think I enjoyed it
Excellent really accessible jazz
I don't think this is bad, I'm just not sure it's for me
Yeah this felt like propper gurlpunk. It slapped hard and I'm surprised I've never heard of it before
Seriously solid first half, drops off a bit at the end but still loved alot of this
This rocked, her voice is so good, powerful when it needs to be, soulful when it needs to be. Yeah I loved this
No notes needed
