This entire album just worked for me, the dissonance, distortion, the low production value, everything about it just clicked
The specials were my first album I got when we starting this adventure before we made the group. And let me tell you I did not need more specials
When I first started listening to this I was definitely at a one or a two phase, but through a forced break in my listening and coming back to it later it allowed me to take a step back from the shock value and truly appreciate the lyricism and instrumentals that were actually really quite good, I’m gonna be coming back to this one for a while
I would say that I enjoyed the music behind this one. But knowing my history of the nation of France, I decided to look up what this album is about and boy did I find another reason to not like the french. This album is about a man hitting a 15ish year old girl on her bike with his Rolls Royce, who he then promptly falls in love with and seduces. I don’t care about the artistic intent and all that when the subject is pedophilia. Not a fan
Had a couple of good songs on there and nice storytelling, mainly just not my genre or vibe
I enjoyed listening to this album, but I immediately forgot all of it as soon as I finished listening
A surprisingly pleasant look into the personality of Kurt cobain
This thing freaking grooves, though I’m not sure I need an entire 15 minutes of drumming solos, I’d be happy with a cool 12.5
I haven't listened to much of the stones, but that was a lot more bluesy than I was expecting, it was good, just nothing super special past the opening couple songs
I was very surprised when I heard woman of constant sorry and house of the rising sun on this album. She has a beautiful voice that fits so well with the genre she was playing
There was nothing about this album that was intriguing. First one where I have kinda questioned why it was put on this list in the first place
I wish I liked this a lot more than I did. I liked the intro with busta in it, but past that the album was mostly downhill from there
I would say it’s a 3.5 for me, I enjoyed my listen but I don’t see myself coming back to the album as a whole, maybe some of the specific tracks like “Kuntz” and “22 going on 23.” But I’m giving a four just because of how interesting an experience the whole album is
I think I’ll be able to give this one a five once I’m more familiar with it. One listen wasn’t enough. Autobahn was definitely the highlight of the album
American pie is the highlight, pretty clear why he’s a one hit wonder. Great song though
Not my favorite Beatles album by any stretch, but still a lot of damn solid songs on there that are classics by every merit. George=best beatle
I really enjoyed my listen, and I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Although I’m not sure that I’ll be going back to the album anytime soon. Not my genre sadly
I was pretty bored by this one, the woodie Guthrie track was fun though, that’s the most I got out of this though
Even the hit isn't good, I'm not coming back to this one anytime soon.
Now this is the new wave thag I want to listen to. Classic, love it, all around amazing
I quite enjoyed a lot of this album, even if it was one of those were all the songs slightly blended together in my mind. Not always a bad thing however
This seemed like it wanted to be a rock album with all the fuzzy guitar riffs but ended up being just a pop album with a touch more edge to it, nothing new for the late 80s early 90s
I was pleasantly surprised by this one, I’m not normally a fan of grunge in any capacity but this one hit just right
I really enjoyed this blend of Latin and rock music. And this was also pushed higher because I recently learned Santana is apart of ringos all star band which is pretty neat
This could’ve been, and should’ve been two albums. There’s no reason for this to be an hour and fifteen
Another album that was really much too long for my liking, I can only take about 45 minutes of the machine I’m supposed to be raging against
I listened to this on Friday, all I remember is r&b and not much else
Sultan of swing was quite fun, but I can’t really get behind what they were doing the whole way through
I’m hovering between a three and a four here, but I remember really liking this new wave sounds, especially songs like shopping
I’m not a hundred percent sure who this is for, it seems all over the place in tone
When I first started listening to this I was definitely at a one or a two phase, but through a forced break in my listening and coming back to it later it allowed me to take a step back from the shock value and truly appreciate the lyricism and instrumentals that were actually really quite good, I’m gonna be coming back to this one for a while
Honestly I was expected more from this album, still a good listen it just suffered from high expectations for me.
Honestly I expected more from Dylan, I thought he was more of a hippy and not a blues man but I guess I was wrong
I understand why Elvis was a big deal in his time, and I’m very grateful for his contribution to later bands, just his music is not my favorite
I listened to this one with Julianne and it was incredibly soothing for the a side and a lot more engine like and moving on the b side. I loved the imagery that this was able to keep consistently in my head with its ambient passages and incredibly clever use of different tones
Some solid stuff on this album, though this isn’t typically what I go out of my way to listen to. Still an enjoyable experience
You know, all I remember is the 80s happened and it sounded like this
Schools out is the obvious winner of the album, the rest was just pretty generic rock/hard rock for me
I really didn’t expect much from this but I enjoyed the classically inspired movements in this, just not enough to go back to the whole thing
This album can really only be defined as loud. And for what reason? Beyond me completely
Having listened to now two albums by the cure, I think I can safely say that I’m not a huge fan
Pretty fun for me, you guys were right when you said more psych then funk, but that still works for me
The specials were my first album I got when we starting this adventure before we made the group. And let me tell you I did not need more specials
Another album that I was pretty bored by. It was 45 minutes of "Rock"
The song I enjoyed the most was actually the song that played after the album finished when I didn’t realize it was only 30 minutes
I'm still not 100% on how I feel about this one, but it was by no stretch bad
I suppose a yee haw is in order. Pretty inoffensive country album
This was a pretty interesting one for me, I can't say I'd ever heard this album but I swear I've heard one of the songs in an apple commercial or something of the sort
I was just not a fan, this type of music just doesn’t do it for me
I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this one, but I will say I did enjoy my listen
I loved the surfy opening track, but past that it was typically 90s indie rock, which is just not my thing
I really enjoy jazz rap, and my earlier adventures into a tribe called quest hadn’t stuck, but I have a feeling that this one will
I liked some of the ideas that had worked its way onto this one, but after a hectic day, I wasn’t able to recall most of the album. Which is a problem that keeps it from a higher rating
I’ve come to realize I’m really not a fan of albums that are more than 50 minutes long. But I did enjoy the music in this one
I really enjoyed the slower songs that weren't as dissonant as the others. I still prefer the Andy Warhol album
I was only able to listen to about half of this, but the stuff I did listen to was a solid fine
The Beatles act naturally cover was stuck in my head for the rest of the day, not a bad thing, just slightly annoying
This entire album just worked for me, the dissonance, distortion, the low production value, everything about it just clicked
It was a fun album, the hits were definitely the highlight though
I’m in between a three and a four here, but I’ll stick with a three for this one right now. Love some jazz though, good times
The nostalgia kick was nice for a while, but I cannot stand pop albums that are more than 46 minutes long
Soft rock is just not my thing. Especially when it’s written by men. For some reason
I listened to a playlist called “triller” instead of this album at first because my co pilot coming home from school forgot the h. Thanks Cullen
I was not expecting to absolutely love this. But I do, and I’m very pleased about it
As Spencer said as we were listening to this in the car- it’s the soundtrack to a coming of age film set in the 80s. But still very enjoyable no the less
Not a fan of lauryn hill, thanks art as experience
It was strange how I was finding this most similar to house music of the same era, and that was the part I enjoyed the most. The lyrics just made me feel gross however
Relax is pretty much the only reason this is on here I thought
I thought a popular thrash metal band would have a bit more umph to their sounds, I was quite underwhelmed
I wasn't sure what to expect with this one but some solid punk is always a nice surprise
I was disappointed with this one, I was expecting quite a bit more about from a band that I enjoyed the first album of so much
Quite a few songs that I greatly enjoyed, quite a few that I didn’t care for. A perfect 3
It would’ve been a three had it not been 2 hours of music I didn’t really enjoy that much
Really solid, on repeat listens I bet it’ll grow on me even more. This dick ain’t free
Clearly one of auroras influences, and I completely get down with it. Industrial dream pop is most certainly it
Very forgettable album for me, not a bad one, just not one I’ll remember when all is said and done
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this country folk album- especially when a beebles cover came out of nowhere
With song titles like half past France and Antarctica starts here you’d think there’d be a lot more to exciting to listen to
Not too much to say, it was a sappy album that was so sad
Really solid album, first time I’ve really listened to any Bowie, especially from before the 80s era. I’m excited to see where that goes
It’s a classic. Probably my favorite Floyd album- shame I realized I’m not a huge fan of Floyd
A side was a lot stronger than b. I do enjoy that style of rap, it was just a lot of the same
On the edge of there to four, solid soft rock album, but I’m guessing and hoping rumors will be the incredible album it’s hyped up to be
What you would expect from a late 80s rap album, which to me is an enjoyable experience
I strongly dislike morissey. The other members are the only thing keeping this from a lower score
Pleasant album. I wouldn’t be upset if someone threw it on in the car, but I’m not going out of my way to listen to it
Hard rock is fun, if in small bits. This one seemed to all sound the same by the end of it
It was background noise, very enjoyable background noise, but that’s all it was
I was staining a deck while listening, so I remember absolutely nothing about this album other than I was expecting sea shanties and was severely disappointed
Super fun album, perfect for many many movie soundtracks and why wouldn’t it be. It somehow sounds nostalgic for not a specific time in history but for a time in everyone’s lives which I just think is neat
Clearly a black midi influence which is interesting to see but not my thing
A band so well heard in the last 40 years that it’s become background noise for straight white men round the world
I would say that I enjoyed the music behind this one. Not a fan
If I ever wanted to be in a shitty bar in the 70s, this is what it would sound like. I don’t want to be in that bar
I hate this guy. No reason for him to be on here 6 separate times
I quite enjoyed the last bjork album we had too but this one was just so much more full of life and made it a lot easier to listen to
This album reminds me of my former boss who is in a kiss cover band. I almost got to see them perform, and if this was what they were playing, I’m glad I missed it
The five songs I was able to listen to on Spotify were fine
