Production wise sounds a little dated. Songwriting is still strong.

I think the music itself is a bit better than a lot of the verses, but a powerful album altogether. The vocals are very front and centre in a nice way. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for Devil in a new dress and Blame game.
I like the purple skin on the album cover. Billy Idol sprang to mind, both of there styles are very soulful. I especially like the intricate percussion parts.
It ebbs and flows from high energy to a more calm trance like rock. Heavy experimentation occurs throughout. This is a very good album.
I really like the thumping industrial drums on Sounds from the big house.

A cornucopia of musical flavours, some industrial, some serene, Jazz police was a dud but hey that's the eighties.
The drums fills are really great.
Wild stuff, I got to be in the right mood. Paved the way for Queens of the stone Age. Iggy's mix leaves no room in the mid range, real warm sound, kind of sounds like my speakers are on fire.
Favourite track is just a baby, proceeding song was aptly named Electronic renaissance, bringing a stylistic shift. That renaissance didn't last however, as I could be dreaming is gritty, grungy rock which is more in sync with the early 90's. My wandering days are over is a wonderfully dreamy jam. Never heard this before, really liked it.
First time listening, was a good time. Great harmonies throughout. Simplistic but effective riffs. Favourite track track would be Indian song.
Superb. The band began quite striped back and became more integral to the songs as the album progressed, finishing with an epic performance.
I particularly appreciate Morrissey's expressive vocal delivery. Although it was enjoyable overall, I probably won't be returning to this one.
It ebbs and flows from high energy to a more calm trance like rock. Heavy experimentation occurs throughout. This is a very good album.
Very inspiring lyrics. I got a warmer sound from this than what I hear of today's electronic dance music. Some cool guitar on make it mine. There's plenty of interesting artistic moments/choices made that deviate from the same old regular dance track.
It's good, sounded a bit like a musical to me, also quite David Bowie-esque. Didn't like the sound of the drum kit or bass guitar, that said the production quality is of high standard.
First time listening except for Smoke on the water. A very rad album.
Very dark. Some outrageous drumming on this.
Passion can be heard on this album, that's for sure. A small complaint is I thought the gap between the quite parts and loud parts were too far. It's effective but I found myself turning the volume up at the beginning and wanting to turn down when the rest of the band came in. Overall a solid album through and through, favourite song is Candy's room.
Great stuff. I enjoyed the trumpets alot, they really added to the jazzyness of the boom bap beats.
Groovy beats. All the gun and violence imagery was a bit too much for my taste but I digged the rap flow. Light another is a favourite.
We get a more domesticated Iggy on this than on Raw power. Produced by Bowie in the Berlin trilogy era, some regard this as an extension of that trilogy. I dig this one quite a bit.
A great band is behind this, but Miles(🐐) is here to lead and crack the whip. Consequently there is a sense of perfection to this record.
This is a fun listen. I appreciate the eighties electronic textures. Favourite track is TV Dinners.
Love the almost military groove at the end of wake up dead. It's really good, however the vocals don't gel with me.
First listen for me, some great moments of falsetto singing. The Shining hour is my favourite track.
Enjoyed this one a lot. I thought it sounded quite ahead of it's time.
Thought this was solid, can see Green Day being influenced by this band.
I have to give it to them for the cohesive performance, sounds like a band playing together live instead of multiple takes on-top of one another.
Maybe it's the speakers I use but I always find the harmonica is a bit too loud on his records. I appreciate the lyrics however, I'm a bigger of his records that have more diverse song structures, such as Highway 61 revisited.
Love the bits of Arminian style mixed in with the metal.
I thought the quality singing by the rappers was noteworthy. Love the Chinese restaurant skit.
I thought the set list had a good flow, I've rarely heard scat that's legit. Some great love songs. A nice time capsule.
Enjoyed quite a bit. There's some hidden gems on this I hadn't heard, Penthouse Pauper is a favourite.
It's very good, a first listen for me. Reminded me of early Maroon 5.
Love the latin grooves and precussion. Think its fairly unique to have samba music this well produced.
First listen for me, some epic crescendos. Love the bass voices on Either way I lose.
Quite an ambitious record. Metal and classical music are similar in a lot of ways so there's no surprise this works so well.
love the album art. Big leap from the Birth of cool.
Very much enjoyed the drum solos and polyrhythms on this.
This is a first listen for me and had a good time. Highlights are the spoken word passages and the drumming on The World Hurricane. I now want to watch the movie.
An interesting an enjoyable listen, reminded me of Brian Enos pre-ambiant work.
wasn't sold by the first song but I liked it more and more as it progressed.
I knew Moonrocks but other than that it was a first listen and an a very enjoyable one.
I like the purple skin on the album cover. Billy Idol sprang to mind, both of there styles are very soulful. I especially like the intricate percussion parts.
The damned has been on my radar for a while but this has solidified my fandom.
An epic sounding album. The shrill guitar strums pair well with the long bass notes.
Zimbabwe got a shoutout on The Way We Swing.
Mezzanine is far superior than this one imo.
I really like the thumping industrial drums on Sounds from the big house.
Great production and super slick performances.
Great rhythms in this
Modern classic
I must say I'm not a big fan of the Accordion. The rest of the instrumentation I like.
I like the Latin flavour to some of the songs.
There's a lot of good things about the album, I like the vocals, they can be very expressive. My favourite is probably vegetable man on the extended version.
Really cool beats
Enjoyed this, never heard Indians outside of Guitar Hero.
This one's not my cup of tea.
I liked the mix of it being experimental and also solid in terms of songwriting.
Very chill
Short and sweet, nice harmonies.
Explicit but entertaining.
Never listened to the whole album, was better than expected. I prefer the more bigger production songs than ones with less instrumentation.
This put me in a good mood. Particularly enjoyed Revolution 1993
Some no nonsense gangsta rap right here. The production is a bit rougher than straight outta Compton.
Can say this sounds better on vinyl. I find there sound to be subdued yet solid and electrifying. The aesthetic feels authentically dark but as I have said the riffs and grooves carry an energy.
I love this album.
I only new Kool Thing from this. It's good but Daydream Nation is much better imo. This one is looser.
The end of part 1 is a stand out section. Sailor's Hornpipe is quite amusing.
There songs sound quite similar to each other, gone daddy gone is my favourite.
I don't consider this my cup of tea.
I probably won't be returning to this, never heard of him before but nice to know now
I enjoyed the second half more than the first. Big time is a favourite.
I liked the horns that featured on I think two of the songs.
I enjoyed this one, quite entrancing I found it to be.
Yes please, really like the low end on All I need and Stimulation.
Fingernails is a jam, probably won't be coming back to the album though.
I liked it, good production.
This is dope, I'm familiar with Mess, a later one of there albums, this one is a bit more rough and organic.
A classic if there ever was one.
Metal is so good, cars is also fun.
Strength of your nature is a jam.
Couldn't find this on streaming platforms
Really cool name for a country outfit.
Enjoyed this one, light and smooth.
There are a few duds on this. It's mostly really good though.
Quite a different sound to the rest of their discography, they're at their most indie. I think the last 4 songs are a bit meh. Also the last two remixes are fun.
He says come on a lot on this. We will fall is an interesting 10 minute song. I think I wanna be your dog is my fav.
I was feeling Somebody up there likes me, Across the universe and of course Fame. The backing vocals and percussion adds to the soulfulness of this record.
A cool blend of styles. I can see why it's on the list but also why it's not a massively popular album.
I recognised at least four parts of songs that have been sampled. I enjoyed the drum machine work on this. I also appreciate the old school style of rapping, talking about rough lower class living but with a positive attitude.
This is a second go around at this album. Just not for me.
Really nice production. I like the large rhythm section. Last song is awesome.
Production wise sounds a little dated. Songwriting is still strong.
Lovely bit of country.
Shhh/peaceful is quite animated for its title. The drummer is just playing 16ths on the hihat, wouldn't associate that with jazz but it is undeniably jazzy, really nice. In a silent way is actually more tranquil I found.
A bit quirky but a lot of soul in this.
I am familiar with their earlier Zen Arcade, this is a fuller production, also more psychedelic where Zen Arcade was a bit angrier. Really like the songs Ice cold ice and Visionary.
Some seriously groovy cuts on this
I think the music itself is a bit better than a lot of the verses, but a powerful album altogether. The vocals are very front and centre in a nice way. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for Devil in a new dress and Blame game.
Aside from the song Jolene, Dolly Parton isn't an artist I've been into and listening to this has not changed that for me.
Colin Newman's voice is a bit strange to me, a classic album nonetheless. The bass and guitar tone is the highlight I think.
First time listening to their early stuff. A lot more conventional sort of 60s rock. It's good but they became more original later on.
Nice and breezy
Never heard of this band before, really took to it.
I prefer the Singles going steady comp, but some good songs on this
Really cool, found it to be a meditative listen. Catch the sun reminded me of the Foo fighters. The Cedar room is my fav.
New favourite Dandy Warhols album
This is wild
I don't live today is my fav on this
Loved it
Very cool
Lush sounds, slow paced yet manages to keep my attention. Nothing bad to say about it.
It's solid but very conventional, especially the production. How you get the girl goes hard.
This one grew on me
I like the lyrics but not a fan of the music.
Very goovy, dig it
Never heard of this, Kanye and Dilla on production, rooted in 70's soul. I would say it's very consistent, but not monotonous.
A fun rock concert
In the same vein as Modest Mouse, both from that indi era. Favs are Une annee sans Lumiere and Neighbourhood #3. A nice switch up at the end of Crown of love. I enjoyed the lush strings, a lot of nice texture to the production on this in general.
Really like the beats on Mr Good Bar and Milky Cereal
Son of a Preacher Man 👌🏻
The Indian song is a great ending to the album
Very intricate drumming
Found it hard to hold my attention on it but I really like the atmosphere and attitude he brings and also really like the closing
The Sun always shines on tv is a highlight. Quite rare for an 80s drum machine album to be good
Pristinely produced by Paul Simon. However, I found it a bit too soft for my taste.
I can get down with this
Old School is my highlight
A fun listen
I think it's their most refined album. All they're albums are great but this shows the artistic range of the band.
Despite the cold album cover I found the music too sound warm. Hidden track at the end has cool guitar in it, worth the wait.
Die in the summertime is a highlight for me
P-Funk and Give up the Funk were highlights
Some fire on this. Favorite track is I Wanna Be Your Man.
Some interesting production on this. I enjoy the short length of the tracks and abrupt transitions, short yet substantial, feels like a tapas meal.
Was a bit bored by this one except for Pump it Up, that has a great riff on it.
This was a fun listen. The renegades of funk is covered well by Rage Against the Machine.
Never heard this one before but it's my new favorite of his.
Student demonstration time and Till I die are my highlights
Breaking the Law is a jam.
