My ear normally is at it most blissful when listening to lush, polished pop, but this album struck something deep within me. I wish I could teleport myself to New York City on a snowy day to enjoy it in its full glory. 9/10

Skinner is a fucking tool (the character, not the musician). I always feel an uncomfortable Englishness when I listen to the streets (idk how else to describe it) and I’m not sure if I like it but man can this guy create an atmosphere.
7.5/10
Fave: Blinded by the lights
Jorge Ben Jor
4/5
This album honestly blew my mind! The guitar! The melodies! The passion! Discoveries like these are what makes me love this project so much. I have to look this man up. (Also apparently Rod Stewart stole the chorus melody of da ya think I’m sexy from him?! Damn the more you know
8/10
Fave: Xica da Silva
Derek & The Dominos
4/5
Well, I feel like the album is called Layla etc. for a reason. There’s a lot of uniform lengthy (though high-quality) blues songs, and then, near the end, the centerpiece hits you like a bolt of lightning. The piano part is also amazing. Rest of the album is pretty good, but nowhere near, though I really enjoyed their take on “Little Wing”.
7/10
Fave song: take a wild guess

I'm not really knowledgable about Mambo so I can't judge this quality-wise, but it was an enjoyable listen and the orchestra was also very skillful.
7/10
Fave track: Hong Kong Mambo
Nick Drake
5/5
I still remember the first time I listened to this album, even though it's been so many years since then. I was 12 years old and dragged by my parents to a family friend's house for Sunday lunch. After eating, it started pouring outside, and we all ran to the living room. My dad's friend put this record on the turntable. I was instantly mystified. I was incredibly socially anxious when I was a teen but I found the courage to ask what was playing. Ever since then, I often listen to that record on a rainy afternoon and feel at peace with myself.
9.5/10
Fave track: Very difficult to choose as I love them all, but I come back to Northern Sky more often.
Klaxons
4/5
Although this indie-dance sound of the 00's sounds a bit outdated now, I love it. Makes me feel nostalgic for a time when we felt that everything was going amazing. I only knew Golden Skanks before listening to the entire thing, and I was shocked to discover it is barely in the top 5 best songs of the record.

It kind of puts me off when more than half of an album's songs are covers, but California Dreamin' Go where you wanna go and Monday, Monday are enough on their own to elevate this album to a solid 7.5/10. The beautiful harmonies don't hurt either.

Eagles
4/5
Each track is 5 minutes long and for what. Ok to be fair they are good songs, they're just as inoffensive as they come and very repetitive. Makes perfect sense why they're so popular in the US.
7/10
Fave track: Life in the fast lane
Blur
3/5
To be honest I was kind of bored listening to this.
6.5/10
Fave track: Song 2
U2
4/5
Might very well be their best album. Many songs are very repetitive and drag on without reason, but that might be personal taste.
7/10
Fave: Love is blindness
LCD Soundsystem

All my friends is a 10/10 track. The rest is pretty good too.

5/5
This is the album that first got me into harder rock music, therefore it will always have a special place in my heart. I am aware it is not perfect, but for this reason I can't give it anything less than a 9/10.
Fave track: Paradise City? It's so easy? IDK.
Slipknot
3/5
I prefer my metal more atmospheric, but this album is good. Still, the instrumentation is, in my ears, the sonic equivalent of a dry cracker going down your throat. 6.5/10
Fave track: Liberate
The Pogues
3/5
Does not compare to If I should fall from grace with God, but still very pleasant.
6.5/10
Fave: Sally McLennane
Marvin Gaye

This entire album is basically variations of the same song, but it's a damn good song

This was one of the most interesting discoveries I made through this project. Idk what reason a Swiss person would have to sound this angry, but I support it.

Fave treack: Goya Soda
Frank Sinatra
3/5
Goddamn it we get Frank. This fine lady has stolen your poor old heart, yadda yadda. Any of those songs in isolation is a pleasant, wholesome listen. All of them together are a repetitive monotonous croonfest. This is a collection of songs more than a cohesive album. 7/10
Fave: I've got you under my skin
Fugees
4/5
My ultimate rainy day record. Lauryn was just so talented man.
8.5/10
Fave track: Fu-gee-la
Gotan Project
3/5
When I was little a couple of these songs were used in washing machine commercials and I unfortunately can't listen to this album without visualizing squeaky clean plates and gleaming pipes. Other than that it's uhhh pleasant sounding and inoffensive. Perfect as retro coffee shop background music.

What do you have to say for yourselves, Hooverphonic?
Fave: Hyperbolicsyllablesesquedalmistic
Michael Jackson
5/5
Quite literally the album that got me into music at the age of 10. I can’t be objective about it, but if not for “the girl is mine” it’d be a 10/10 for me. It’s still a solid 9/10. Will there be anyone like MJ again?
Fave: Billie Jean is probably the best pop track in the history of music but IDK, I have a soft spot for the mamasemamasamamacoosas of wanna be startin’ something.
Iron Butterfly
