Jazz Samba
Stan GetzI don't know much about jazz music but I do know that this is the exact kind that I like.
I don't know much about jazz music but I do know that this is the exact kind that I like.
I didn't necessary dislike it, but it was a little boring.
One of my all time favorite albums. It's an album that explores complex themes like mental illness, mortality, and human existence. The seamless transitions between tracks, enhanced by the band's use of synthesizers, sound effects, and philosophical lyrics, create a rich, atmospheric soundscape. Songs like "Time," "Money," and "Us and Them" showcase the band's lyrical depth and musical experimentation. It's both introspective and universally relatable, with Roger Waters' poignant lyrics and David Gilmour's soaring guitar work standing out. A timeless classic, the album remains a pinnacle of progressive rock and a cultural landmark.
Maybe you need to be in a certain mood to enjoy this. I just found out very depressing and not especially interesting.
The album kinda sucks you in, starting with an amazing track in Roundabout. The rest doesn't quite hit the same and sometimes feels a little experimental. I still really enjoyed it, but they kind show their entire hand in the first track.
Really enjoyed this album, it was so groovy and smooth. The melodic and harmonic complexity is incredible. Standouts for me are Peg and I Got The News.
It's like background music you can't help but pay attention to. It makes good background while working from home. I found that the more I listened to it, the more I enjoyed it. Every track is so different, it's hard to pick a favorite.
Kind of your standard indie rock album. I enjoyed listening to most of it. High points for me were Take Me Out, Matinée and This Fire.
Decent album. Really liked Morrissey's vocals and some of the bass work was great.
Front to back just a great 90s rock album, I loved it. The Day I Tried To Live is my favorite by far. RIP Chris Cornell.
You obviously can't deny the talent. The fact that this is his 18th album is pretty unbelievable. Having said that, while I enjoyed some of it, most of it just wasn't for me. Favorite tracks, Sir Duke and Isn't She Lovely.
Albums like this make me regret any other 5s I've given. Led Zeppelin is just on another level. All killer, no filler.
Pure 90s dnb. Plug this straight into my veins. It somehow feels nostalgic even though it's brand new to me. A little unexpected to have a compilation album in this, but in the end I don't care because it's right up my alley.
Love the vibes of this album, it creates such a dreamlike atmosphere. It feels very 80s. I have no idea what they're saying most of the time, but it sounds cool regardless.
It's one of those albums where I feel like I should like it, but I didn't. This album just didn't do it for me.
Great album, it was very different from the only other album of theirs that I know, Rumours. Standout tracks for me were Think About Me and Angel.
It's never heard of Nick Drake before this album came up. I enjoyed it, very chill and minimal. Just a man and his guitar.
Pretty good album. I don't know if it's one I will return to, but I enjoyed listening to most of it. I like it more than Songs In The Key Of Life. In a weird way, I wish I liked Stevie Wonder's music more than I do.
Really great background music while doing something else like working or choking.
Very 80s, synthy and whiny. I think I like it... Time will tell if I like it enough to listen to it again in the future (I probably won't).
I like it, but I can't tell if this album is really cool, or incredibly boring. I think it's his voice.
Great voice, sort of a mellow folky style of music, but in the end just not really for me. I would give it a 2.5 if I could.
This album is so unhinged and I'm fully on board. It's so weird, experimental and full of nonsense.
I've never listened to big band music before, but I will be going forward. This was a really fun album.
Pretty fun, it feels ahead of it's time. This is what all live albums should aim for, I love the energy.
Kind of meh on my first playthrough. After a second listen, I really started to enjoy it. It really doesn't sound like a 70s album, more late 90s/early 00s.
A classic 90s alt rock album. Favorites were Today, Quiet and Disarm.
Pretty good British pub rock album. Doesn't take itself too seriously.
This was pretty meh, I can't say I'm a fan of this Bowie era.
So much soul and emotion, really liked this one. Easy 5
Not my thing at all, it all sounds the same. Boring and generic sounding.
Stone cold classic hip-hop album. Feels way ahead of it's time.
Strong opening track, the rest is kinda blah.
Really good album from beginning to end. Just a great 70s rock album.
It's ok. I'm not much of a country music lover, but if I had to listen to it, this is the kind I'd go for. I'd give it 2.5 if I could.
Never considered myself much of a blues fan, bit this was a great album. Really liked the crowd sounds/interaction.
It kind of all sounds the same, but I don't really care. Great album.
I enjoyed this, though I've never seen the movie. Gives chill and mysterious vibes.
Every song sounds the same. Very boring and bland.
Didn't necessarily dislike it, but not something I see myself coming back to.
Really enjoyed this album. Obvious standouts are Stand and Orange Crush.
Pretty good album. I think I get the whole Taylor Swift thing. I probably wouldn't revisit it, it's just not really for me.
Really good album, I'll definitely be checking out more of his stuff.
Could've listened to another 8 minutes of Cynicrustpetefredjohn Raga
I enjoyed this album. Feels VERY 90s. The title track is easily the best on the album.
I've always enjoyed REM when I've heard them but until recently hadn't listened to any of their albums back to front. So far I've heard this one and Green. I prefer this one without question. Definitely gonna save this one to revisit later.
I can definitely see why this wouldn't be for everyone. It can have a very depressing feeling to it. This is probably why I listened to it most as a teenager and young adult. I still really enjoy it, but don't find myself going back to it much.
I usually really enjoy 80s synthy, brooding stuff, but this one just didn't quite hit the mark. Not terrible though.
I wouldn't say this is a bad album necessarily, but it's nothing special, not entirely sure why it's on this list.
I can see why people like Taylor Swift but it's just not for me at all.
Really enjoyed this one. Fun and upbeat. The 2 singles are stellar.
Really enjoyed this one. It's so 70s. I enjoyed every second of it.
Meh, it's ok It kinda feels like blues for people who don't like blues music; pop blues.
Enjoyed this one more than expected. Love the synths and sax solos. It feels weirdly familiar and comfortable.
I enjoyed the first half more than the second. Overall pretty enjoyable.
I'm shamelessly copying this review from somebody else because they just put it so well. The album sustains an atmosphere that is gloomy, yet thoroughly gorgeous. It somehow manages to feel both claustrophobic and seductive. Really remarkable album.
I definitely enjoyed Speakerboxxx more. I kinda wish they'd been released separately.
I don't really know if I liked this or not. The songs were so short I couldn't really get into them, but overall I liked their sound.
I went in with no expectations and was still let down. This is bad, just straight up boring.
A little odd to have a compilation album on this list, but I didn't really care in the end. This was such a joy to listen to.
I've always found that my favorite Zeppelin album is the one I'm currently listening to/listened to most recently.
I had heard of The Kinks, but never listened to them. Really enjoyed this, it has social commentary but feels very uplifting. Stand out track for me was Victoria.
Good album, but I can't help but feel like it would have been better with fewer features.
This album rocks. Lived the instrumentals and the general vibe of the album.
Maybe you need to be in a certain mood to enjoy this. I just found out very depressing and not especially interesting.
Really enjoyed this one, verging on a 5, but it didn't really blow me away. A solid 80s rock album.
Not for me. It's like rock for people who don't like rock. I only gave it a 2 because Born to Run is a great song.
It was alright. I liked their sound. Our House is the obvious highlight.
It's kind of all over the place, very chaotic. The production is pretty unique. I can't see myself listening to this ever again, so I guess I didn't really care for it.
I love it, such a vibe. Maybe not an everyday listen, but under the right circumstances... Favorite track is Ketchy Shuby.
A masterful blend of soulful production and introspective lyricism, showcasing the rapper at his best. Kanye absolutely nailed the production; rich, soulful samples that perfectly compliment Common's verses.
Not my favorite Zeppelin album but still great. The first half is definitely stronger.
Just an unbelievable live album. I love all of his ad-libing. If only this had been filmed.
This was weird. It's both hard and not hard to believe this was made in the 60s. I ended up feeling confused after listening to it, maybe that's the point? I have no idea, but I dig it...I think
I've never been a huge Police fan. I like their hits but the rest are kinda meh.
I'm not really a Metallica fan, but I enjoyed this album. The singles are the standout tracks, I also enjoyed Sad but True.
This album fucking rocks.
I'd been meaning to listen to this for a while and completely forgot about it. I'm in to it.
Loved every second of it.
Easy listing, but just not for me.
Beautiful album. So soulful, I could really feel everything.
Great rock album. Starting feeling a little repetitive/samey after a while but I still enjoyed it.
This is such a strange album. It sounds like complete nonsense most of the time. I think I'd need to take A LOT of drugs to enjoy this. I didn't completely hate it but I can't imagine a scenario which I would listen to it again.
I'd never heard of X until now. Nothing spectacular but pretty enjoyable.
Another group I'd never heard of before. Nothing super standout, but overall very enjoyable, great background music.
The singles are excellent, the rest are kinda meh.
Absolute loved every second of this. I want to live in this album. Helplessly Hoping is such a beautiful song.
This was good. Not necessarily good enough for me to seek out more of their work though.
Really dug this album. It transported me to 90s New York.
I'm kinda conflicted on this one, I enjoyed it and really loved the energy but I just don't see myself listening to it again. I think I enjoyed the nostalgia it gave me more than the actual music.
Really loved this album all the way through. It somehow makes me feel nostalgic even though I wasn't born for nearly 20 years after this came out. It just feels familiar and comfortable.
I felt like I was chilling on a secluded beach in Cuba. I don't know how often I'll come back to the album but I've saved it.
Beautiful voice. At points it feels quite emotionally charged and at others, feels pretty peaceful and contemplative. The album was a little long for my liking.
Questionable vocals and simple lyrics, often mundane subject matter, great production.
So, krautrock is kinda weird, but I kinda liked it. My favorite track was Jennifer.
One of those rare perfect albums. I wish there was a rating above 5.
The album kinda sucks you in, starting with an amazing track in Roundabout. The rest doesn't quite hit the same and sometimes feels a little experimental. I still really enjoyed it, but they kind show their entire hand in the first track.
The only Blur song I had heard prior to this was Song 2. I went into this album not expecting a whole lot and was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it. Overall, a solid 90s Brit-pop-rock album. My favorite track was Miss America.
Boring and generic, no real substance.
For some inexplicable reason I really wanted to like this but I just didn't. Very boring, must be an acquired taste.
Loved it, 80s pop perfection.
This was ok. I didn't love it nor did I hate it. Pretty easy listening for the most part.
I thought the album was....ok. It was all downhill after the first track.
Really loved this. Hearing the originals of so many songs I recognize was really cool.
Kinda feels like a cross between Pink Floyd and Queen. I really enjoyed it. My only criticism is that it's a little too long.
I liked it, but I really can't see myself listening to it outside of this.
One of the greatest "modern" rap albums. It's a powerful narrative album that blends personal stories with social commentary.
Every song sounds like the last. Not bad per se, but doesn't really belong on this list.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's ok I guess.
It's ok, kinda samey all the way through
I really enjoyed this album. I'd never heard of Harry Nilsson, but I definitely recognized a few of the songs.
I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it as much as some people. I get that he sounds the same and kinda whiney throughout, but I still kinda dug it.
Some pretty questionable lyrics, but it hits the nostalgia chord so 2 stars it is.
Wow, this is so bad. Couldn't get through the whole thing.
Really enjoyed this. From the big band sounds to Ray Charles' incredible voice. So good
Very over the top and cheesy, in a good way. I got a little tired of it by the end, but overall I enjoyed it.
Wow, this was really good. Vibes for days. I can't wait to dig in to their other albums.
Wow, this was flippin awesome. I knew some of Prince's hits but never listened to a full album. I'm left wondering what I've been doing with my life.
I still remember hearing Breathe for the first time as a naive 10yr old thanks to Big Shiny Tunes 2. It blew my mind. I wish I could say I've been a die hard Prodigy fan ever since but I never really followed up after being consumed by that track. Mostly due to difficulty accessing and buying music at that age. This album goes so hard and will definitely be added to the rotation.
Pretty mellow album, but I just don't ever find myself in the mood to listen to reggae music. Enjoyable overall but not an everyday listen for me.
I grew up on the album, it's a top 5 best hip-hop albums of all time. Wu-Tang is forever.
Not really my jam, but I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
Really love the blend of blues and psychedelic rock. This is right up my alley.
For some reason I had it in my head that I liked Elvis Costello. This album was a reality check. I did not like this album. You know how some people have a really punchable face? That's how I feel about his voice.
If I separate the man from the music, the album is ok. A little self-indulgent at times. Layla is the obvious standout. Eric Clapton is kind of a piece of shit.
A true pop masterpiece. Just what the doctor ordered for a Monday morning.
I liked it, but I'm a sucker for 80s new wave.
I didn't necessary dislike it, but it was a little boring.
I don't know much about jazz music but I do know that this is the exact kind that I like.
It's messy, exciting and a little spooky. She has such a great voice. Female lead rock bands rule, I just wish there were more on this list.
Wow, what an album. Easily one of the best live albums I've ever heard. I love all the crowd noise and Johnny's banter with them.
I think up until now I've only really heard their newer stuff, so this didn't sound how I expected it to. Having said that I still enjoyed it.
Meh, this was ok. A couple good songs but the rest just had me wishing I was listening to The Beatles.
It was an ok album, I didn't find it to be anything really special. To my untrained ear, it just sounded like The White Stripes.
Really liked this. Not my favorite album of his, but still really good. Favorite track was Cracked Actor, loved the opening chord.
Yes! More if this please. Loved every second of it, 90s grunge fucking rocks.
This album is strange, but in a good way. Where is my mind is probably the most "normal" song, the rest are pretty unhinged at times.
Too much harmonica. Maybe it would be better on speakers instead of earbuds.
2 Dylan albums is a bit much, as it turns out there is such a thing as too much Dylan. Having said that, I enjoyed this album more than Blonde On Blonde, but not by much. Bob Dylan is better in small doses, one song at a time; listening to an entire album is tiring.
Such a fun album. You can tell they had fun making this one. I love the comparison of this album to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Best hip-hop album in this list so far.
Wild Is the Wind by Nina Simone is raw, soulful, and haunting. Her voice draws you in, making each song feel deeply personal and unforgettable.
It's different from her usual stuff, with a vibe that's kind of reflective. I prefer her earlier work. Not necessarily a factor in my review or rating, but Ray of Light made me nostalgic for Windows XP.
A heavy metal classic with iconic riffs, intense vocals, and a few memorable tracks. Not really the kind of music I see myself listening to on any regular basis.
At first, All Things Must Pass feels a bit intimidating with a length of 2hrs, but once I settled in, it was a ride I didn't want to end. The mellow, introspective vibe flows through each track, revealing layers of George Harrison’s creativity and depth. It's a beautifully immersive experience, and by the end, I was left wanting even more of that soulful, meditative sound.
The album has its moments, but it doesn’t quite live up to its iconic reputation. While "Monday, Monday" and "California Dreamin’" are undeniably catchy, much of the album feels repetitive and lacks the same spark. It’s fine as a piece of 60s nostalgia, but it doesn’t hold up as a must-listen today.
Wow, I don't even know what to say. I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. Great album.
It was pretty good. Feels more like poetry with a musical backing... Which I guess can be said about a lot of music ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I found it strangely hypnotic at times.
It was ok....Not great but not terrible.
This is weird wild stuff, I kinda dig it. It somehow feels before and ahead of its time.
This album goes so hard. I remember blasting this in my room as an angsty teen. RIP Chester.
This list has taught me that I like Nick Drake. Super chill, mellow easy listening.
I really enjoyed this. I know next to nothing about jazz but this was great. Initially I was intimidated with in being 38 minutes with only 2 tracks, but it flew by and I enjoyed every second if it.
Dollar store Bob Dylan. Not necessarily bad, just kinda boring.
Her voice is undeniably amazing. It's also really impressive to come out with an album like this at such a young age. With that said, this kind of music just isn't for me.
This album was ok, didn't really blow me away, but I guess I kind of enjoyed it.
It created a pretty chill/dreamy atmosphere but felt a little repetitive at times. Decent background music but not an everyday listen for me.
It was alright. America Pie is kinda played out but I appreciate the lightning in a bottle he captured with it. The rest of the album is decent, he has a wonderful voice and the composition is pretty good throughout.
Unlike any of the albums I've had so far on this list. I didn't totally vibe with it but I think it might have just been my mood. I'll be adding it to my list to check out again in the future.
Really enjoyed this, it felt pretty Bowie-esque at times.
Coldplay feels like the British Nickelback. People hate on them for no real reason other than it's the fun/funny thing to do. I enjoyed most of this album, the singles are undeniably catchy.
A funky, uplifting album with great songs like "Everyday People." It’s a classic.
I like the vibe, but the vocals are just too shriek-y.
This album was alright I guess. He obviously has a great voice but the style of music just isn't for me.
Sooooo good. I recognized a bunch of the songs but could not have time you who they were by. Easy 5.
Not my favorite Radiohead album, but still really good. Favorite track is by far Pyramid Song.
I've come to realize that David Bowie is really hit and miss for me. This album is a definite hit. My favorite track was Girl Loves Me.
I just can't see past how bad of a person he is. While his music might sound alright, he somehow hates the people he ripped it off from. He's also anti-vax which is the nail in the coffin for me. Byeeeee
Wow, this was a gem. Never heard of them but Janis Joplin sounds great.
Loved this. Sample heavy, funky, witty lyrics. What's not to love?
I've always enjoyed their hits but never listened to a full album. I enjoyed this quite a bit; I can wait to start going through their back catalogue.
Tom Petty is one of those people who's hits I was familiar with but had never listened to an album front to back. This one was pretty good, nothing spectacular. The last track is the standout.
I'm a sucker for 80s synthy pop. Nothing groundbreaking but I enjoyed it.
Fuck Phil Spector. Unfortunately this album is actually pretty good.
I really enjoyed this, definitely has a Mumford and Sons/issue movie feel to it. A feel good easy listening album. I feel like it would make a decent road trip album.
Love it, this list has shown me I'm a Steely Dan fan. So groovy.
Such a legendary album, loved the whole thing. L'America was weird but I dig it.
It's impossible not to hear the Bowie influence. Decent glam rock album with (in my opinion) poor pacing.
This is a weird album... Why in the world is it on this list? Definitely gives of Rocky Horror vibes.
This album grew on me. Weird at first but started vibe with it after a few tracks. I had only every heard some of his newer stuff so it's cool to see where he started.
I wish I had something more profound or insightful to say about the lyrics or subject matter. In the end I just really enjoy listening to it; really good vibes for a Friday afternoon.
Thoroughly enjoyed this album.
Never heard of these guys, but their name sounded fun. I really enjoyed this album, has a pretty unique sound. Definitely one I'll be saving for the future. Favorite songs were Remember Me and Not A Lot To Do.
I didn't even make it through the whole album, this was pretty bad. Lead vocals were terrible.
Omg, we get it, your really good at playing your instruments. I'm sure it's be great live but it just drags on in an album. The music was fine but the endless solos were kind of annoying.
First time listening to Black Sabbath, no idea why I'd never listen to them. Loved it, easy 5.
Couldn't believe it when I learned this is they're debut album. Great album front to back.
Wow, I really enjoyed this. So funky and full of soul.
Let's be honest, he was not a good person, for that reason, I don't agree with the way he is idolized by so many. I'm admittedly biased as I grew up on 90s hiphop, so there's a major nostalgia factor in play. I love this album and appreciate the social commentary in his lyrics, notably in So Many Years, Lord Knows and Dear Mama. Old School is such a great track as well.
I mean...C'mon, it's Zeppelin.
First song aside, this album is pretty meh. Just feels kinda boring/generic.
Went into this thinking I was a Jimi Hendrix fan only to realize I'm really just a fan of his hits. None of his other tracks are necessarily bad, they're just kinda meh.
Wow this fucking rocks. I wish I could have seen it live. The recording quality leaves something to be desired. Great live album.
Not my favorite album of theirs but still an easy 5.
It sounded alright, but not something I see myself going back to.
Very spooky and moody. It was ok, but I think I'd have to be in a specific mood to listen to it again.
I guess I can see why certain people would like this...but I am not one of those people. It just sounds very generic and boring.
Stellar album from back to front
I was vibing with it for a while, then it got really weird. Very psychedelic. Another one of those where if I were in a certain mind set I'm sure I'd love it.
This was weird, but it's a type of weird that I really vibe with. Having said that I don't know how often I'll listen to it again.
I appreciate that she has a great voice, I just don't really care for her music.
I really enjoyed this album. When it came up I wasn't really in the mood but forced myself to listen anyway. No regrets.
Easy 5. Yes, Puffy's contributions are annoying and unnecessary but if you look past those, this is easily one if the greatest rap albums of all time.
This was ok, pretty mellow but nothing special.
I had never heard of them before so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up really enjoying a lot about this album; the messages, the jazzy production and Franti's half-spoken vocal style. It really had me thinking about how a lot of the problems they rap about are unfortunately still very pertinent and relevant today. The Dead Kennedys cover was also pretty unexpected.
I've never been a huge fan of Foo Fighters outside of their hits that I saw the music videos for on Much Music. Considering the recent Dave Grohl events I don't see myself becoming a fan or supporting them. This album is good though, especially when you consider Grohl did it almost completely on his own...kinda wild.
It's ok. Mostly agreeable, easy listening. Just kinda plain. I'll admit, it grew on me the longer I listened to it....then I got bored again.
I've never listened to a Pixies album before, but I enjoyed this. I kinda liked how short each song was.
So groovy, I enjoyed this more than expected. Build the Bridge and What is Love? Were two of my favorites. Parts of Build the Bridge reminded me of Streets of Rage 2 level music.
Decent indie album. I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll listen to it again.
A good album that did not age very well.
This is what I think is when somebody says hip-hop. Just an incredible album that oozes with coolness Really love the jazzy vibes.
Great album, really enjoyable listen.
This is such a great album from front to back. Easily in my top 10 albums of all time.
Enjoyed this one. Definitely not my favorite album of theirs, but still really good.
In his current mental health system, he's a terrible human being, I really hope he can get the help he needs. This album is objectively amazing and it's sad he's fallen so hard since.
Great voice, but this album just didn't do it for me. Got bored half way though and stopped listening.
No thank you.
I'm surprised this album is rated so poorly on here. I usually dislike country but this was excellent. Her voice is so soothing.
Excellent album. I don't really know what else to say.
It's was good, not great...maybe I just wasn't in the mood for blues.
Yes! This is exactly what I want when listening to Bowie. This album is perfect.
This is just the energy I needed today, loved it.
Love it. I can't get enough of the dark, kind of depressing 80s/early 90s synth pop. The vocals are haunting at times.
While I didn't really jive with it, it's incredible this was made in the 70s.
Definitely hasn't aged well, but when this first came out I was too young to really pay attention to what the lyrics were actually saying. I just sang the words, thinking it was cool that there was a good while rapper. I like it for the nostalgia though.
It's a classic for a reason. It felt a little long in my opinion, but I also don't know where I'd trim anything off.
It was ok... Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it. I didn't find it partially memorable.
Really enjoyed this album. It's never heard of them before now. The perfect blend of psychedelic rock, folk and country.
This one grew on me. I really didn't care for it at first but the more I listened, the more I enjoyed it. Parts of it kinda feel like if the Beach Boys were slightly psychedelic.
This is a great album. I was sad when it ended.
The entire album just oozes with grooviness. I found myself dancing at my desk while listening to it on multiple occasions.
This was bad, I made it half way and gave up.
This album rules. I have no notes.
Meh. Not bad, just boring.
Wow, this was so friggin cool, and what a wild story. Loved this.
Love this album so much. It's just so cool and smooth. It makes me feel cooler just for having listened to it.
Really beautiful, kind of haunting at times but perfect background noise while at my desk.
Wow, the story behind this is kind of wild. The music is incredible as well. This isn't the type of music I typically seek out so there's a good chance I would have never heard it, but this is exactly the kind of stuff I love finding in this list.
Great album all the way through.
I'm a fan of Beastie Boys but an entire album at once is a lot. The production is excellent and their lyrics are pretty fun and clever. Overall enjoyable but, better in small doses.
I had no expectations on this one. I'd never heard of Sujan before. I enjoyed it. It's probably not something I'll listen to again, but I love learning about new music so I appreciated it coming up in this list.
Wow, this was bad. Is this even singing? He sounded like he was bored out of his mind while reading the lyrics from a sheet of paper.
Bowie at his sparkling best. Enjoyed the entire thing.
I recognized the music from being sampled so often, but as an album it just didn't work for me.
This wasn't my favorite but overall it was a pleasant listen. Heads Will Roll was the stand out for me.
First time ever listening to this album. I'm not too familiar with them other than their hits, but I really enjoyed this.
Meh. I didn't mind it at first, but 3 tracks in and I'm over it. This definitely has a place and time, but here and now is not it.
This was great. I don't know if it's an everyday listen for me but I really enjoyed it.
I didn't hate it, but it didn't really do much for me.
I enjoyed this more than expected. It ended up putting me on a really contemplative mood. I don't know how often I'll revisit it, but I'm glad I listened to it.
I liked it, but started to feel kinda same-y part way through.
This was... interesting. I kind of enjoyed it but it was a little unhinged. I'm glad I listened to it, but it won't be making it into my library.
There were parts I really enjoyed and others that I found very grating.
Not my favorite but really enjoyed parts of it.
Wow..I don't really know what to say. This is definitely one of those albums that I would have never discovered if not for this list. What a gem.
Great album, it felt like a warm blanket.
Not my favorite CCR album, but still great.
This was weird, silly and fun. I need more of this in my life.
I really didn't care for this. I got bored halfway through the first song.
Nice, easy, mellow listen. Really enjoyed it.
This was soooo good. I regrettably never listened to them growing up, but I'm glad I was reminded of them as an adult.
Didn't really care for this. It wasn't especially bad, just kinda meh.
Meh, it's ok I guess.
The singles from this album are great, the rest are kinda meh.
So funky and groovy. Loved it.
For me Van Halen is another one of those groups where I recognize a lot of their hits but wouldn't be able to tell you who the band was. I wouldn't change the radio station if they came on, but it's not something I listen to intentionally.
I don't ever really listen to blues but this may change that. This album was excellent.
It's good, not really my everyday kind of music but I don't mind hearing it on the radio.
Dreadfully boring.
I really enjoyed it...I don't think it's something I'll listen to everyday, but definitely saving it. The drumming is some of the best I can remember hearing. I've learned that I'm very particular with the jazz I enjoy listening to on any kind of regular basis.
Love me some Fatboy Slim. Repetitive, yes, but also super fun. I enjoyed every minute of it. Easy 5.
Loved this album. I really enjoyed the ambient tracks as well.
No thank you. Not only is it about a pedophile, but it sounds like he has the mic in his mouth, giving it a feeling of ASMR. I hate ASMR.
One of the greatest live albums ever.
It's alright. I've never really been a huge Rolling Stones fan. I like their hits but the rest don't really do much for me.
Really great album. Embarrassingly, before this album came up, I have to admit that I thought some of these were Beatles songs.
It's ok... Not great but not terrible.
Cool album cover, meh album
I really didn't care for this... Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it I dunno. It's another one of the unusual inclusions on this list. I guess I kinda liked Shadow of a Doubt.
Just beautiful. I loved every second of it. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
I feel like I need to be in a specific mood for Elvis. Unfortunately today, I was not.
This album was decent. A few good tracks and some others I didn't care for.
Bleh, no thanks. On to the next.
3 songs, that was my limit on this album. A little too artsy for me. I guess I can see why people might like it, but it's not really my thing.
I don't really know how this is considered punk. Really boring, I find her voice quite annoying. No thanks.
Nothing spectacular but I enjoyed this more than I expected to.
Wow, I did not expect to enjoy this as much I did. Really great album.
This one really surprised me. On paper this is not something I would expect to enjoy. I didn't love it, but it was a solid 3/5.
Nah, pass. I've had enough Morrissey on this list thanks.
Such a great voice, enjoyed this one.
Excellent album. So many good songs. I remember when the album first came, out my cousin bought it and then I stole it from him and it didn't leave my discman for months. He ended up having to buy another copy because he thought he'd lost it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not bad but not really my thing, I can only listen to Elvis in small doses.
Reggae is really hit or miss for me, and I really need to be in the mood for it...Usually. I wasn't super excited when this album came up, but I like to give all albums a chance. I'm so glad I did, it really hit the spot. The music, vibe and his voice are perfect, loved it.
Not at all what I was expecting when I saw that it was the Beach boys. But I was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed it.
This one surprised me. Her voice is amazing.
I'd never heard this album, but I knew of it. Why didn't I listen to this before?! This album is sooo good.
Not my favorite, I enjoyed some of it. It definitely seems ahead of it's time.
Eh, it's ok, most of the songs sound the same to me. That's not to say they're necessarily bad, but 19 tracks of it is a bit much all at once. The obvious highlight is Fairytale of New York.
This is not for me.
All of the songs kind of blend together, but I didn't mind. I could listen to Sinatra sing the phone book.
Potentially the most beige album I've ever heard.
This was my first time listening to Hole. I ended up enjoying it more than expected.
This album sounds like it's trying super hard to sound a specific way. I find it kind of irritating for some reason. At times it sounds like a shitty version of Talking Heads.
Never heard of Pavement, but I ended up really enjoying it. Range Life was definitely the highlight for me.
I really didn't expect to like this as much as I did. It does start to sound kinda same-y and blend together after a while though.
I found this quite boring.
I liked it, but a full album of Dylan is a lot all at once.
Loved this album. Not at all what I expected.
Don't hate it, don't love it either. Kind meh. His voice is unique but I don't really need a full album of it.
Every song sounds exactly the same. Not a fan.
Loved it so much. So cool, so smooth, I really can't get enough of it. If nothing else this list had shown me how much I enjoy jazz music.
Pretty good. I appreciate a good instrumental only album.
I had never heard of this album before but I recognized a few songs on it. Loved it.
I didn't expect to like this based on the reviews, but something about it really clicked for me. I was a little intimidated by the length of the first 2 tracks. It made me feel like I was in a 90s underground warehouse rave.
Overall I enjoyed it, kinda strange in parts.
I don't dislike this album, but apart from Smooth Operator I just didn't really feel it.
Did somebody lose a bet? Why is this album on this list? I fail to see what I would be missing out on if I didn't listen to this before I died.
Didn't love it, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard.
I went into it expecting very little and was surprised that I actually didn't mind it. Decent background music.
I expected to enjoy this much more than I did. Maybe it warrants a re-listen...or maybe I'm just not a fan of their brand of grunge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'll give it points for uniqueness, but I just didn't really vibe with most of it. I really enjoyed Unfinished Sympathy.
Enjoyed this much more than Blue Lines.
Just an unbelievable album all the way through. RIP Ozzy.
Dylan is great in small amounts. 1.5 hours is just too much all at once.
I was familiar with Sunshine of your live, but nothing else really. Loved the album, nice and short too.
Turns out I've been sleeping on Talking Heads. I like everything I hear of theirs. Really enjoyed this.
It's been way too long since I've listened to Jurassic 5. Really loved them growing up and completely forgot about them. I appreciate to positivity in some of the tracks, something we could all use more of. It somehow feels old school and fresh. Timeless.
I normally don't mind Stevie, but today I just wasn't feeling it.
Enjoyed this. Felt very cathartic.
Meh, it's ok. Common People is the only memorable song.
Love this album so much. Really reminds me of my childhood.
It was ok. It grew on me as the album went on. Probably not something I'll return to, but if it was playing on the radio, I'm not gonna change the station.
Not terrible, I guess I kind of enjoyed it. Probably won't listen again.
Alright album, not as good as some of their others.
I really enjoyed this. Admittedly I'm not a big punk music fan, but this was great.
This album was great, I don't really know what else to say. I loved it. I really wish I had been born earlier so I could have see Prince perform live.
Great album. Nice and short, lots of fuzzy guitar, weird slightly creepy droning. Loved it.
While it isn't something I'll necessarily listen to everyday, it's undeniably awesome.
So a live album that isn't actually completely live? What's the point? If I want live, I want actual live, not mishmash of live with overdub.
Paint it, Black is good, but the rest are kinda meh. Under my thumb has...questionable lyrics.
Really enjoyed this one, didn't want it to end.
The album cover mattress me feel really uncomfortable for some reason. It was alright.
I didn't love it, but I didn't dislike it enough to turn it off. 2.5, rounded up to 3 because of Solsbury Hill.
I really liked this.
One of is my least listened to Radiohead albums. I really like it though, High and Dry is my favorite track.
It's alright, there's something I really enjoy about his voice. Favourite track is There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.
Just an unbelievable album. You oughta know, hand in my pocket, you learn, head over feet, ironic. 🤯
I really just don't care for country music. However, as far as country music goes, this wasn't the worst.
It's...ok. Definitely not the worst thing I've heard on this list so far. Easy listening background music.
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. Really good.
