Back to Basics
Christina AguileraYou know, I almost gave up. CD 1 just wasn't my cup of tea. But damn, CD 2 shocked me in a great way. The style and execution felt like a speak easy in new Orleans and I was definitely about it.

You know, I've heard all of these songs at one point or another but never listened to the album fully. Has a very nice flow, good classic album, always a fan of the eagles.
Excellent album. Knew a few songs on it, but overall very soothing.
First off, got a few songs into this before I realized 'e' means explicit, not edited! (I prefer the unedited version), so trying again with the uncensored album. I know a handful of songs from this one, but an shocked I've never listened to the full thing. It wasn't bad! But it definitely felt like it lost some steam in the second half.
Man, it's been a few years since I heard this one. Smooth, soothing story rap is just such a vibe especially listening to while at work. So many lyrics just pop out and stick and twist in your brain: I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death, in particular leaps out in NY state of mind.
Not a bad live album, but live stuff usually isn't my cup of tea, and I've always been indifferent about Thin Lizzy. I will say, the singers voice stuck me as great for a live recording, pre auto tune times.
I'm a fan of blur, and knew some songs from this album, but never listened to it start to finish. It's definitely a vibe. Not actually what I was expecting, but still great. Knowing now that the singer went on to form the gorillaz, I really do hear some early similarities.
It's a weird mix for sure, like if Robert Smith from the cure and earth wind and fire decided to make folk music. I've known come on Eileen forever, but never really heard anything else by them. It's not bad! Not exactly my favorite, but definitely worth a full listen thru.
Holy shit. Her voice is so clear, and her folk style I can tell right off the bat is monumental to the genre. (reading her bio, I guessed right!). I can't believe her name didn't ring any bells for me. Excellent album
Very punk and a little touch of blues. It's a little bland for my normal taste honestly, but not bad.
I do love deep purple usually, and maybe it was just not what I was feeling on Friday, but it was okay! Just didn't grab my attention like I figured it would. Not bad by any means.
Interesting groove throughout, great musicianship. Not quite my fave but worth listening to.
Wow, such a beautiful voice. I think this journey is giving me a better appreciation of folk music, and this was a gem.
Still hold to the opinion that the singer reminds me of an upbeat folk version of the cure. Didn't realize how many good songs this band had actually done, since they were mostly a one hit wonder on the commercial circuit.
Always loved van Morrison, and his live performance did not disappoint.
Eh, I'm hit or miss with the pixies. Overall not bad! Good album to hear start to finish, but not like, genre defining great to me.
Ehhh. The smashing pumpkins were never really my thing, mostly too repetitive. Not a bad album but not my favorite by any means either.
Sort of reminded me of an alt tears for fears. Not bad but not as catchy as I would have liked.
Maybe the only radio head album I know I like, but it definitely still holds up.
The bio on this band is insane. Not a bad album, older electronic music is always fun.
