Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Feb 23 2026

I've never been too fond of Prince but I can respect his musicality so this album was likely to be a 3 at best unless something really surprised me. About half way through I was thinking it would be a 2, not terrible but not for me. But then the levels were all over the place. I understand dynamic range and, but there it will go from a loud song to several in a row where I had to turn it up because I couldn't hear a thing, only then to blast out a loud song again. Favourite song: Probably The cross.

Feb 24 2026

Old Johnny Cash hits so much harder, though it does sometimes feel like you can hear him actively dying on some of the tracks (particularly Hurt) Favourite song: I hung my head.

Darkdancer by Les Rythmes Digitales
Feb 25 2026

For people complaining about repetitive lyrics, it's dance music it's par for the course, that like complaining about have guitars on a rock album. I would have probably rated it higher if it wasn't for a few of the songs sounding a bit too dated. Favourite song: Soft machine.

Sincere by Mj Cole
Apr 05 2026

So close to being a 1, there are a few parts that would make it a 3 or even 4 star album. But, it's very repetitive and some of it is really weak.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Apr 06 2026

Yea it's Meat Loaf, yea it's cheesy as all hell. But come on now it's still awesome.

Odelay by Beck
Apr 07 2026

Turns out I don't like Beck as much as I though I did. It's still alright. Computer rock sound like he heard his printer make a noise and thought it would make a good hook, couldn't quite figure out how to incorporate it but by god was he going to use it

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Apr 08 2026

Not my sort of thing but I liked it enough. Sounds like an audio shortcut that would be used in a film/tv show to quickly convey to the audience where/when the scene was set.

A Seat at the Table by Solange
Apr 09 2026

I can see why some people same that Solange's music is better than Beyonce's.

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
Apr 10 2026

It's always a bit strange how it sounds fake when people sing in there natural British accent.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Apr 11 2026

So you know how two actors can look alike but not enough to convincingly play siblings, but the there is a third actor that somewhat looks like the first two and you think "oh yeah if those 3 were cast as siblings i would totally believe it." This album is the audio equivalent of that with Radiohead and The Hoosiers. I added this album to my playlist years ago but never really listened to it properly. Shame really as its really good. Also as much as the song has been covered to death Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah is the best version. I can understand why people would say that Cohen's was the best version, but that's like saying Bob Dylan's version of All along the watchtower was the best. Just cause it was first doesn't make it the best. Buckley's version is a brilliant duet between his vocals and the guitar.

Leftism by Leftfield
Apr 13 2026

Someone on here called this "Background music from a PS2 racing game" and that made me realise what it reminded of. It's PS1/2 demo disc menu music.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Apr 15 2026
Heroes by David Bowie
Apr 27 2026
Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
May 02 2026

I like the Beastie Boys, but this album feels a bit too niche.

Bummed by Happy Mondays

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
May 15 2026
May 16 2026

It's crazy that Otis Redding was only 26 when he died, he was an absolutely amazing singer, and even if blues and soul aren't your preferred genres, I find it difficult for anyone not to like at least one or two of his songs.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
May 17 2026

As much as it is cheesey, and I wouldn't want to listen to it everyday. It is still awesome.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
May 19 2026

The only thing stopping this from being a 5 is the fact that some of the songs have been overplayed to death.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
May 30 2026

Never really cared for Billy Joel but this wasn't too bad.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Jun 04 2026

Considering all you hear of Kendrick Lamar I was so surprised how Meh! This album was. There wasn't really anything outstanding about it.

Histoire De Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsbourg
Jun 05 2026

For the music I would have rated this a 4 or 5, but the annoying laughing and sex noises would knock it to a 4 maybe 3. Finding out what it's actually about makes it a 1.

Survivor by Destiny's Child
Jun 07 2026

I've never really got the hype and fanaticism over Destiny's Child and moreover Beyoncé. Can't argue that they have skill and talent, but it's just not for me.

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Jun 14 2026
Ten by Pearl Jam
Jun 16 2026
Legalize It by Peter Tosh
Jun 22 2026

Reggae has never been my favourite genre, this is alright but non of the songs really stand out as anything special.

Jun 26 2026
Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Jun 28 2026

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jul 01 2026

Really don't care for Björk.

1984 by Van Halen
Jul 05 2026
The Infotainment Scan by The Fall
Jul 06 2026

Some interesting musical but, I wasn't a fan of the vocals. I feel that some of these albums are very dependant on context, who's in the band, what was happening in the world at the time, what the bands other albums are like. I feel that this album might be one of those.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jul 10 2026

Damon Albarn generally makes pretty decent and interesting music, but this is all a bit dull. Nothing really happens it just plods along.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Jul 12 2026
Berlin by Lou Reed
Jul 26 2026
I'm Your Man by Leonard Cohen
Jul 29 2026

This is now the 3rd Leonard Cohen album I've had on this list, and so far I've given them 2/5. This is mostly because I don't hate them and I understand that there is a lot of respect for the man. But honestly I'm not really sure why, I get that his lyrics are clever, but they don't make up for his voice and the music which in this case is some of the worse of the 80's sins all on one album which what seems to be little to no production value. This is my 264th album on this list and I feel as if they need to introduce the "Ed Sheeran rule" from the UK charts, which is where an artist can only have 3 songs in the charts at one time. It seems crazy the Leonard gets 5 albums, David Bowie gets 9, The Beatles 7, and Bruce Springsteen gets 5 as well. But then Artic Monkeys and Dr Dre only get 1 each how is 2001 not on this list? I'm sure there are other artist that deserve better as well. And I get that the ones I listed are considered some of the best we have but really it should be "here are 3 of their albums that best represent various parts of them, if you like it go listen to the rest." Rather than it all being on the list and preventing some lesser know artist getting some love.

Jul 30 2026

Somehow I've never heard of TV on the radio though looking into them their album Dear Science looks familiar. Love the weirdness of it. This is what I like to see on this list, stuff that I haven't heard of before, whether I actually like it or not doesn't matter it's nice to learn of new stuff.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Aug 03 2026
Kenza by Khaled
Aug 06 2026
Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Aug 07 2026

Only one more Leonard Cohen album to go. This is probably my favourite so far, it's much more musical with Leonard actually almost singing. Still not quite a 3/5 though.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Aug 09 2026

Mopey as all hell. I'm not a fan of the Bee Gees but at least the later stuff has a bit of groove to it.
