4 out of 5. Fun album. Did not know what to expect having not listened to much of his discography.
Fun and some dark moody funk on here. Also incredible that this was his fifth album in five years.
What a great debut album. It is a whole vibe.
Different than the other Velvet underground’s discogory. Shows their versatility.
Solid set of songs. At times energetic, moody, and contemplative all with a psychedelic theme through out. Classic 60’s era album.
Classic rock and roll foundational album.
Great Voice. Giving me great weekend morning vibes.
Fun Album and some great harmonies. Usually not my style but found myself bopping along to several songs.
A lot more moodier/ darker than I expected. Vocals and music felt a bit more alternative than pop. The band was great but that bassist was amazing!
One of the defining albums of the early 2000’s. Great vibes and love that the psychedelic feel made it back to the radio. Has that Flaming Lips influence.
Blues/psychedelia from the late sixty had some bright spots, but did not quite hit the mark for me. Would be willing to give it another listen.
Absolutely one of my favorite albums from one of my favorite bands. Who knew a Canadian band could be so good at capturing the American sentiment so well.
Great collection of songs from one of the best known crooners.
A few good tracks. The title track, life in the fast lane, new kid in town, and victim of love. The rest of the album just feels kind of meh.
Clearly an influence and a glimpse of what was to come in the 90’s alternative rock/grunge. Some surprisingly catchy parts.
I did not like Wings when I was younger. I was a Beatles purist. Then I grew up. This is a great album.
Not my favorite Beatles album.
The album with Come on Eileen I think I was expecting something different. I was disappointed. I felt the second half of the album was better. I throughly enjoyed the instrumental portions.
Will be giving this another listen. Not super familiar with anything other than their pop hits. Listened to it while I was working, so did not feel I got the full feeling of the album. Could see their influence in Trey and phish.
What a great album. Hope there is more of this on the list.
I want to give three stars just for the ambition of the album. (One of the defining albums of post-punk). Opening track is 9 minutes and last track is 7 minutes!!! However the lead singer/vocals ruined it for me . I get that it is likely the point but the vocals range is from the vocals that people use to make fun of pretension singers who take themselves to seriously to just downright awful. Will only be 1 or 2 stars.
Pet sounds is one of my absolute favorites a master class in pure pop production. Also a little deeper than its sound.
Some great late 80’s hip hop. A classic.
Just another Beck album that shows his versatility and willingness to change his sound.
Have not listen to any of their stuff. Really enjoyed this. Will listen again and look forward to hearing more from them.
Liked some songs. Found that I could not really get into it.
Moody, dark and broody from post-punks pioneers Joy Division.
Great to electronic/dance album.
Sassy, sardonic, and witty.
Everytime I listen to this album it bring me great joy and remember what a gem of an album it truly is.
Good blues/early alt-country album!
Great Guitars. Great Drumming.
Great electrician/pop album
Great Sunday Morning/ Brunch vibes and stellar vocals.
Great early psychedelic album from the Syd Barrett era of Pink Floyd. I like Saucerful of Secrects from the early Floyd era.
Lovely dan/electronic album that goes hard and gets me moving.
This album is banger after banger. The one stars just do not get Eminem. The absurdity is the point.
Have never heard Baaba Maal before. It was a fun album. It reminded me of Paul Simon’s Graceland at parts and Vampires Weekend(both heavily influenced by African music)
Van Roth over Van Hagar. Classic hair metal band with one of the most iconic guitar players to have ever played the instrument. The bass player on this album is also great.
Great funk and soul album. First track has that sneaky funk for a pretty serious theme. Higher Ground and dont you worry bout a thing always gets ya movin.
Mike Patton the most interesting voice in rock and roll. I knew of epic and it has always been one of my favorite songs but never listened to anything else. I like this album. I head some things that would become what metal/post hardcore/alternative would come to sound like in the next two decades.
Never really listened to the Specials and I don’t know why this was great! I listen to the deluxe reissue. Great blending of different genres of music.
Classic Christmas Songs from one of the best producers of all time. Classic wall of sound production and some of the best studio musicians ever, the wrecking crew!
3 classsic Rock songs on this. Slash is an incredible guitarist and axel’s vocal range is pretty incredible. I like more song then I thought I would, but the songs sounded similar.
I liked this album more than I thought!
Fantastic progressive rock album from one the greatest guitarist and composers in rock.
Great album that I believe captures the energy of early dead shows. (I was not born yet so I can not say for sure)
Another great Stevie Wonder album!
Classic early 2000 pop banger. Great production from Timberland as well.
One of their better albums.
Might be my new favorite MJ album.
Fantastic reggae/dub album.
Great r&b album and more will definitely check out more by them.
Sound and reminders of the early aughts. Would give 3.5 if I could.
This wasn’t bad but I feel Bowie has better albums. His treatment of Wild is the Wind was nice.
One of my favorite Pink Floyd albums. Shine On are bright spots to the album but the whole album is excellent. The 50 anniversary has some nice extras.
Dude rock with solid blues/garage band foundation. A few bright spots
Love this and the surprise exorcists theme !
Not bad UK Punk has some decent bass lines.
Some bright spots. I would give it 3. Stars if I could.
I liked it more than I thought I would.
Solid blue guitarist and great guitar album!
Never heard of them prior to listening to this. What a great album!
Some decent tracks on here. The beats were great. Would give 3.5 if I could.
The 60’s sound meets dream pop meets house music. Winner!
One of the best mood albums!
Classic country album from one of the greatest.
Have not listen to much of the cure other than their radio hits. This was good I especially like the live cuts on the deluxe release. Would give 3.5 if I could.
Wasn’t bad it’s just not my thing/ was not feeling it.
I love this album. I feel this album does not get talked about enough when 80’s music is discussed.
It’s a nice album. I would give it a 3.5 if i could.
This was just meh. There are better Britt-pop albums from this same time.
I feel if I was ever in the desert this album would be playing in my head.
Don’t listen to much Kayne but did find this album enjoyable.
Interesting mix of blues, garage rock, and punk.
Didn’t hate it. Not gonna gush over it.
What a great electronic album that sounds like it could have been made today. I imagine these songs are sampled.
Some great storytelling on this one. The beats are pretty great as well.
Would give 3.5 if I could.
OG electronic/house banger!
Would give 2.5 if I could. I think violator is a stronger album.
Okay blues album but heard better.
I like it for what it is.
Like it better than I thought, but still lean more towards her more pop-driven albums.
Great album. Momma miss America sounds like a song that could have come out today.
Great Jazz Album from one of the legends!
The beats/music on this album are unique takes that really work. The lyrics can be a little juvenile and silly but is a great counterpoint to the other rap/hip hop around the same time.
Surprised at how much I like this album. It was like The Doors meets Punk meets goth.
One of my top 5 favorite albums! The vocals the music the mood everything. A true talent taken away too soon.
Have not listen to a lot of The Who, but this album is fantastic!
Classic from the great American Songbook done by one of the best!
I like it more than I thought and care to admit
One of my favorite 80’s albums
Note my favorite live album but decent.
I think I like Tidal better, but would give this a re-listen for sure.
Had some classic Hendrix songs.
I only listened to this album once before today and not really liking it. However, upon relisten, this album is incredible. The bass in some of these songs is smoking.
I loved the absolute rawness of this album.
Like a few songs just was not feeling it. Would give 2.5 if I could.
Really like this one! Name threw me off of what I was expecting the album to sound like.
The beats go hard on this one.
