Having heard tonnes of Depeche Mode tunes over the years, this is the first time I'd ever listened to an album of theirs in full. No idea why I waited so long.
Really interesting sonically. Can tell that this album had an influence on the urban/hardccore music to come from the UK in the years to follow.

Having heard tonnes of Depeche Mode tunes over the years, this is the first time I'd ever listened to an album of theirs in full. No idea why I waited so long.
I had this album as a teen. This was loooong after Madchester, but I was working my way through the classic British indie bands. I'd pretty much forgotten all about this album which probably says a lot. It gets a three because they influenced a lot of the stuff I like and it's not bad enough to be a two.
Not my usual but I must have been in the mood. The lyrics were cool and it had a nice feel to it. Will I listen again? Probably not on purpose, but I hope it finds me at random some time in the distant future when I've almost forgotten.
Kinda weird. Liked it. Not rushing to listen again but imagine there will be parts of it that randomly pop into my head from time to time. The instrumentation, arrangement and production sounds like something that could have been recorded much later than 1968.
