Played this one a lot when it came out. Still my favourite of the 3 studio albums
Only thing would that make this better is a better recording. Live recordings of this period were not the best.
Another classic. Great songs, great musicianship. Even they never topped it.
Not a big fan of jazz vocals until now. Awesome band behind her.
A regular listen for me since the day of release. How many years ago???
This one hasn’t been far from the turntable since the day it was released. Never tired of it.
Another one I listen to all the time
Not played this one in a while and loving it. Nice to listen to some fleetwood Mac without it being from Rumours or Fleetwood Mac. There’s so much more to discover about this band
Again, something I used to play all the time but due to its popularity have heard it too much over the years. Thanks for the recommendation.
Love some Monk every chance I get
One of the great ones of this era. More to come from this band
Lots of great songs , lots of styles, great musicianship and great production.
What’s not to like
Though influential to many bands in the later years, this one doesn’t hold up well. Sounds like something you hear on extended anniversary albums popular today where studio demos are included.
Alright if you like this style.
Not for me though
Played regularly since the day of release
Classic early Dylan-a must
Still a regular listen around here.
Awesome. Good to hear that again
Not played this in a while. So good
One of my favorites of all time
Love the Hives. I do find the production a bit thin sounding though.
Many of my favourite songs on this
Introduced to reggae music by this album. A life time of music pleasure followed.
Not heard this before.
Retro electronic masterpiece. A little dated sound synths but quite good.
Still don’t get it after 60+ years of trying
Couldn't find this anywhere so I can't really rate it.
Simply awesome album. Still one I love after all these years.
Love it, love it, love it.
Always liked side 1 of this one a lot. Listening again, side 2 also has some great tracks on it. Overshadowed by the popularity of the magical 2112 suite.
One of my favourites of all time. I bought it day of release and played it regularly for years. Definitely one of my desert island discs.
Rather tedious repetitive drum and bass. Probably novel when released but not at all interesting now.
One good song really. Didn’t like it at release, don’t like it now
Big disappointment coming from previous releases. Fame and Fascination are the only worthwhile tracks here
Not a fan of RAP music at all. Violent imagery just doesn't do it for me. Cartoonish or not. Seen, heard and read enough of it to last me the rest of my life.
Not their finest, but there is some excellent music here.
Great songs, but too many versions of the same ones on this album (Apple Music).
A bit dated but still very good
One of my favorites from the 80s
Not the style of music I usually listen to.
Loved it when it came out but dance music has moved on since then and so have I. I don’t seem to listen to many albums that were once indispensable to me.
This is one of those albums that really turned my head when I first heard it. Something so different much of what I was listening to at the time. Following their progress on subsequent albums convinced me that there was something truly different going on here.
I play this a lot, at different times, in different locations and in different moods. There's something here that still makes the hairs on my neck stand up so many years later.
Classic sixties hippie counter culture anthems. How times have changed (or have they?)
This one hasn’t held up over time.
So good. This is one of the 90’s Seattle band that I still listen to quite a bit. Along with Soundgarden they’re keeping it alive for me.
Just love this one! Played it to death when I first got it and continue playing it ever since.
Got bored with the whole Brit Pop scene pretty quickly in it’s peak, but I checked this one out again and it’s pretty good. Now l have to go back to my Spiritualized collection and check it out again.
Love Steve Earle! Guitar Town is the first song on my in-car sing-along playlist.
What can you say? A classic
Still play it a lot after all these years. Can’t say that about many Albums.
This has the original version of Child in Time, which I couldn't get enough of as a high-schooler. I was frequently banned from touching the stereo at several parties for playing that song (albeit from Made in Japan) over and over. Still get the same goosebumps all these years later.
Another classic from my formative years. Ultimately led to the addition of 55 additional Eno-related titles to my collection.
Really good to hear these classics again. I played this a lot in the 60s but not in probably 50 years.
Still quite enjoyable.
Loved Outlandos d’Amour. Loved this one even more. When I need a Police fix, this is usually the one.
The first Waits album I was exposed to. I think my wife loves it even more than me (if that’s possible). Great sound, great playing, great songs and the wonder that is Tom Waits.
Some great songs (Bewley Brothers, Queen Bitch, Andy Warhol), some not so great (Eight line Poem) and a song so over played (Life on Mars) I usually skip at when I get the chance.
Big fan of the Pixies here. Great songwriting and musicianship on this one too.
Not played in a while. It was overplayed in the day and very thin recording by today’s standards. Still, good to play it again.
One of my favorites from the day. A remix is on the horizon I understand. Good for some nostalgia. I was deeply into the electronic music of this period thanks to the guys at the local music store. Got some great music during that period.
Still love this album as much as the first time I heard it. Part of my university days memories.
Never understood the critical popularity of this album. Perhaps you had to be there? I was a BB fan during the 60s based on their radio hits but never owned any of their studio albums.
This is the first Roxy Music album I didn't love on the first few listens. Not sure why. When I need a Roxy fix these days, it rarely is the one I play. When compared to the first two, the songs pale in comparison. Perhaps the middle of the road direction they took after Eno left was not a direction I was on at the time. I tend to lean towards the first 3 albums of their catalogue these days.
This one and Tim are my most played of their catalog although any one are great rock n roll staples.
Some great, classic tunes but also a fair amount of filler. Power of Love was a milestone for me.
Wow. I remember when I got this. The vinyl wasn’t off the turntable for weeks. Still getting played regularly though Gentlemen is my go to Japan album.
One of the most played albums in university. Opened up my eyes to a whole world of non-radio music
This one never clicked for me. Some good songs but one I rarely listen to anymore along with most of the other sabbath albums. I’ve moved on.
Bought this along with Lou Reed’s Transformer. A bit of an eye opener for a young lad.
I loved this one, but none of my friends cared too much for it. Bought a few more of their albums after this but then moved on. Slade weren't very popular over here in Canada. Not like in the UK. Funny how that works.
My parents especially hated this one. (What's he yelling about?)
Spectacular record. Still playing regularly around here.
Not a huge fan of this one but love some of the others in their catalog
I absolutely love this album! It hasn’t been far from my stereo since the day it was released.
Live a little Nick Cave when life is feeling too good. Always a nice little reset.
Absolutely love this one. Excellent sound quality and great songs. A classic!
I would give it 6 stars if I could. Hugely influential on my discovery of music in the not so mainstream genres.
My first introduction to Billy Bragg back when variety in my music was probably at its peak. .
I like the modern production on this pop record.
Wow. Probably my favourite of the later Prince albums. It's where it all comes together for me.
Still gets a regular play around here.
What can you say. It defined the genre. Lots of catchy songs and good production. I tend to listen to bleach more but that’s likely because of the amount I listened to this one in its day.
Why are there options for less than 5 stars for this album?
Love anything Massive Attack. This was my introduction to the whole Trip-hop genre. Another huge spurt in the size of my music collection.
I think this was the turning point of when all heavy rock albums began to sound the same. Production was over the top and influenced everything that came after
