Not a fan of 1980s compressed pop. Last 2 songs in other genres are good.
Great album, great voice and arrangements. I like the jazz feeling.
Awesome! One of the greatest guitarist's greatest albums. What a creative force that reinvented rock and roll guitar. Jimi!
Forgot the top 1001 albums, this has to be one of the top 10 albums of all time.
So smooth! Nice and easy Chairman Frank. Soothing.
Cool jazz, a little repetative.
Been listening to this one since I as 10 or something. Absolutely the best.
I like the great songs and Johnny's banter, but prob. prefer the Folsom prison album.
I've heard the Pogues before but never the whole album. Wasn't sure at first but it grew on me!
Brilliant! I have a BB greatest hits album with all the surf tunes, but this one has added Grateful Dead and Stones influence (or vice versa?).
Has heard a few songs before but the whole thing. I know mostly the hits. Interesting, moody.
Great music, lyrics are sketchy, haven't aged well. Or maybe weren't appropriate ever? But I will listen to this one again.
Not a Stevie album I've heard before but from his prime era. Very cool.
I can understand how it could appeal to some but it's not for me.
So great! Never heard this before. Talking Heads ripped him off!
Wow, they wrote so many songs I was not aware of.
Not my cup of tea. Boring and droning. Makes me depressed. Is that the point?
I totally appreciate Iron Maiden. Lyrics are a little goofy, but fun, killer (haha) tunes.
OK, not a huge fan but not a hater either. More musicality than I would have guessed for what I otherwise recall as a pop band.
An all timer, no doubt. Easy 5 star rating.
Such a great debut album. I used to listen to it all the time, glad to hear it again.
Another all timer! 4 stars. because the lyrics range from sketchy to dated.
Great band, great album. Will listen again!
Cool stuff, not that familiar. Raw power indeed.
One of my favorite albums of all time.
I listened twice. I think this is music that grows on you.
Cool! Never heard of them. Will listen again.
I like the red hots, but never have been all in. Some songs good, some meh.
Great album! Excellent song writing and musical composition!
Interesting! 80s new wave pop meets David Bowie.
Hmmm 2nd Pogues album on the list. I like this one better.
Heavy but also catchy. Some classic OG Heavy Metal here.
Cool album, interesting variety.
Iron Maiden, I apricate them, but never got hooked in.
Great album if you grew up in the 80s!
Great album! Grunge but not Nirvana. Will listen again.
Tutti Frutti, OK! Classic, fun to hear again.
Brilliant, I love it. I've heard of her but never listened knowingly. Very cool.
OK, I like Cohen, but the 80s production/sound is killing me. No bueno.
Cool album, I’ve not heard this before, and although I am not a big Thom Yorke fan I like her, so I'll listen again.
Great album! But VM is a jerk. Was a total A-hole to a dear friend of mine.
I don't typically care for repetitive EDM music. But this is better than OK while I'm working and not needing to pay full attention. Was this some OG EDM?
I love kd lang!! Great album!
Probably a top 50 all timer album.
Interesting, never head of them, but I like it!
Classic Neil Young sticking it to the disco era.
Nice little Cold Play album. The one that started their success?
I've heard of them but thought they were more synth based. This one sounds like there are sonic connections to punk, REM, Talking Heads, New Wave, which all makes sense given 1980.
Sounds like they recorded in a studio: perfect harmonies, solos, etc. Amazing live performance.
Interesting! Sometimes soothing, sometime not. A little repetitive.
Such great raw energy! Great stuff.
Good album, not great. Cudos for retro punk vibes. I wanted to like this album but never quite got it.
OK, kind of 90s, not my fave era
Cool stuff! Love it. Seems like they influenced a lot of future bands with this sound.
Excellent through and through, all great songs.
AC/DC with Bon Scott! Just the best.
Good album, seemed larger than life back when it came out, less so now.
Great album! Really inventive music with great grooves.
Great stuff!! Never heard this one.
Sometimes I enjoy REM, but not today. Kind of a grating winy sound.
Rock N Roll! Nothing like a little glam rock hair band metal.
Meh. A little OK, a little boring, a little moody, a little sappy.
Retro Lenny! Still, good stuff. Well done.
Very cool, nice production, like a movie score maybe.
I mean, one of my favorites all time!
Great beats and rapping. Not loving the gansta/misogyny stuff.
So good, a master of mood.
I like this and want to listen again.
Was NOT my thing back in the day, but listening again, it's better than I remember.
Interesting album, pretty cool DJ type music.
Great raw album. Movie coming out Friday!
Love the harmonies and bluegrass/country!
Really great work. Snapshot in time.
The big hits on this album alone are enough for 5 stars.
Very nice, listened twice, atmospheric and soothing.
Well crafted, some nice songs, easy lisetening.
Gruuuunge! Rocking, annoying, raw, impressive, lot's of varied thoughts. Go Nirvana!
Pretty good groovy background music.
Interesting, I can see the influence on the 80s era sound.
1960, she was so young. Very cool. I Know You Rider!
Fabulous early soul/rock n roll. I can hear how Sam's music influenced many others.
Nice album! 90s brit pop I guess.
I know Tom Waits' music, never been a huge fan, but I liked this one!
OK, two Tom Waits in a row! Same comments as the other one.
I think Radiohead are very winy sounding, thin. I get the new sound alt/rock push but not my cup of tea.
Classic Iggy album, some great tunes.
Fantastic album, great songs, heartfelt.
I do not know the Kinks well but I really liked this album!
Cool stuff! Punky, rickin', energy!
Nice album, I like Steve Windwood.
OK, REM not my favorite, too winy.
Clang! Industrial, reminds me of Tool with a punk flair.
Suuuuper smoooooth! Very nice!
C - C - C Classic R - R - R - Raaaaawwwwk!
Great early (the 1st?) Beatles.
I don't know Elvis' music beyond the big hits so it was really nice to hear this great album from an era that seemed drenched in New Wave crap and bad pop hits.
Just little tiny bit ... HEAVY.
On one hand I get it, on the other, I don't.
I really like the raw energy of this one. IDK the original songs but these live versions sound like they're bringing it.
I really liked this, the mix of sounds and genres is nicely composed, reminds me of Gomez.
I've heard Martyn's more acoustic based music (older?). This adds some funk/disco/horn sounds. Good ole smooth 70s stuff. Pretty nice.
Very cool music. I know only their hit at the end of this album.
I love the BV Social Club! Such a great group and such a great album. Loved the movie too.
Wow, Brit psychedelic folk + Grace Slick sounding singer.
Interesting, I like her voice but not sucked in by the muisic.
What a golden era for Xmas music!
I love the rocking energy of this one. Great stuff!
Some ok, some annoying. I think this was their goal?
I appreciate Prince more now that I am older. This album has 4 big hits and the rest are meh. Still, the 4 were huge.
I get that she's iconic and probably influenced others with her work but this album didn't do it for me. Too abstract I guess.
Fun Beach Boys Album! Love the harmonies!
Some nice grooves but kind of repetitive after a while.
Not bad but nothing grabbed me and pulled me in. Kind of monotonous 80s redux synth and not much modulation/change/drama.
I like this! Not my normal cup of tea, but some groovy beats, and a range of sounds that keep it interesting.
I mean, c'mon, the king. OK, he borrowed/stole from black musicians heavily, as did so many white musicians. But he did add his own flare, charisma and style, and he poked 'Merica in the face and said, "THIS!".
Great American country tunes! I know El Paso from the Grateful Dead / Bobby versions (RIP Bobby!).
Some classic tunes, Lively Up, No Woman, etc.
The raw power of the Who on this performance is stunning. Probably not for everyone given how heavy and loud it is, but man they were good live!!
Interesting, like a piano stream of consciousness rolling jam. Maybe influenced later electronic drone type music?
Biased review here ... 5 stars absolutely no doubt. I LOVE Lou Reed. Simple, powerful, cutting edge for 1972, perhaps cutting edge even for 2026 given the current American "situation".
Iconic album from the 90s, good to hear it again.
Some all American classics from the swamp blues band from Berkeley, CA. Great song writing and simple but powerful delivery.
Meh, when the 80s brought us the compressed sounds of banging pots and pans a la depeche mode, I ran the other way. Not saying this is bad music, just not my cup of tea.
Love the white man Brit blues! Good stuff.
Love the power and energy of this!!
Annoying! I think this is their goal.
Meh. Some of these songs sound like theme music for a 1980s daytime talk show. Some others are bit funky in a good.
GTFO, this is an all timer!! One of the greatest debut albums of them all. Just killer.
proto punk? pretty interesting. ahead of their time.
I really like this! Never heard of them. Will dig deeper into this band.
Oh God, I cannot stand this dude's voice.
Yah you know, dissonant Pixies.
Groovy early 90s hip hop yo.
Better than I remember from the 1980s New Wave era. I like the moodiness.
Never heard of this artist. Pretty interesting, big album, hard to digest it all.
This album must played on the radio for 2+ years, every hour, every day. Still great.
