It was ok. Some great guitar riffs but overall not really a standout album for me. I thought a couple of the songs eg Under the bridge were completely unlistenable so wouldn't listen to this again
Though I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of REM I do listen to them occasionally and even have a few of their songs on my playlist. I hadn't heard of this album until now and I think it was a solid album overall. I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first as I thought the first few songs weren't great but I think it redeemed itself a bit with the last few songs which I will definitely be coming back to
I really want to love Bowie and though I can really enjoy some of his music, I just can't get behind a lot of it. I hadn't listened to this album before and I hoped it would blow me away and get me into his music but it didn't do that. It had it's great moments, I was surprised to hear such beautiful piano in parts, but I don't feel like it left much of an impact on me. Two standout songs for me were Life on Mars and Song For Bob Dylan
This is the type of music you would hear in a posh cocktail bar somewhere in London or at a dinner party in your rich auntie's house. It's not my usual taste but I don't immediately want to turn it off as soon as it comes on either. It's more so background music for me than something I would sit down and listen to. I'd rather listen to The Doors
That was genuinely painful to listen to. I never want to listen to this group of whiny wife beaters ever again. No seriously, separating the art from the artist....wait no I can't because this isn't art. Yellow submarine sounds like something I would've had to sing around a campfire when I was in the girl guides and the rest of this album was equally as unlistenable. Beatles fans need to touch grass and listen to some real music (Pink Floyd)
Fun to listen to, but didn't really stand out to me. I can see why some people would rate this fairly high but it's really not my usual taste. Refreshing after having to listen to the Beatles though (which I got yesterday)
Wasn't into Suede before listening to this but I think I'll have to be now. This album is everything rock music should be: incredible guitar, beautiful vocals and even some enchanting orchestral pieces. I can't see how I give this any less than 5 stars. Near perfect album with no skips
Thank fuck I only have to listen to this once
I've never been much of a fan of Elton John but I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of this album. Though the last few songs were quite forgettable, the first few and some in the middle made up for that. Best songs: goodbye yellow brick road and benny and the jets
This album is nearly 70 years old and it sounds like it. That's all I have to say
While I don't agree with Morrissey's political views at all and just don't like him as a person in general, I still can't deny that this is a near perfect album. I have always loved The Smiths and I believe this is their best album. This album is beautiful from start to finish and it never gets old. Stand out songs for me: I know it's over, Frankly, Mr Shankly and There is a light that never goes out
This has to be the best debut album of all time. I love every second of it and would give it 10 stars if I could. Led Zeppelin were the band that got me into rock music and honestly just music in general. I never get bored of Robert Plant's incredible voice and Jimmy Page's electricrifying guitar playing. This album has no skips but my favourite songs have to be: babe I'm gonna leave you and dazed and confused
Bit of a controversial take but I really don't like this album. I thought I was going to love it based on it's reviews and the many claims that it's the best pop album of all time but I didn't. I don't understand why people love it so much. The only decent song on this album is Purple Rain but even that was a bit disappointing
Ehh, no thanks
Not for me. I just can't listen to hip hop music
Hauntingly beautiful, love it
This is the kind of music that I would only enjoy if I was on holiday (which I'm not) or if I smoked weed (which I don't). It's decent music but not really my taste. All of the songs kind of sound the same and, as a result, it just fades into the background for me. It's still pleasant though and much better than a lot of the albums I got before it
When I first saw the album cover of this I thought I was finally getting a metal album. But no, this is the most generic hard rock I've ever heard. It's by no means bad since I love this type of music (Led Zeppelin is one of my favourite bands) but there's nothing new or special here
I was listening to this while studying for my physics degree that's taking over my life at the moment and for the duration of the album I was able to imagine that I had a much more interesting life than I do. So that was nice. Favourite song: all my friends
I hate the Beatles and all of the members. I will not be listening to this
I appreciate how influential The Kinks were but I just can't get into their music. It's too boring for me and the vocals are annoying
Ziggy Stardust is Bowie's best album by far. I would give it 5 stars except I just can't get behind Moonage Daydream and Suffragette City for some reason. Other than that this is a perfect album. My favourite song: Five years
I had no idea what to expect from this album. I had a feeling I was going to enjoy it from reading some of the reviews but nothing could've prepared me for the eclectic masterpiece that is this album. The variety of sounds, instrumentation and beautiful vocals left me speechless and almost emotional. I felt like I was on a journey through a life portrayed solely through music. This was definitely a life-changing experience for me
Cheesy bullshit music. I don't know how anyone can listen to this
Couldn't get past the first song
Loved the first song. The rest was quite forgettable though unfortunately
I didn't know the band who sang Merry Christmas everybody were also a very generic rock band but you learn something new everyday I guess
I thought I liked Blur but this album is so long and boring. Every song sounds the same. I had to turn it off half way through
Very fun to listen to and as an Irish person this made me feel very patriotic. Love this album☘️🇮🇪
I've never liked hip-hop. The lyrics are just nonsense and sound like they were written in about 10 minutes. There's no real talent here
I don't think this was an album that I had to listen to before I die but I've had worse I guess
Yessss, finally a metal album!! I love Alice in Chains so much and I have to say this is their best album so far. There's so many incredible songs on this but my favourites would have to be rooster, down in a whole, them bones and would?
I don't like rap
If you're ever looking for some good study music this album is great. I got up quite early this morning to study for my physics final and normally I would find it difficult to get started but I locked in pretty much straight away. This is great
I don't care what anyone says. I love this album
I started listening to Talking Heads after a friend put me on to them and at first I wasn't sure about them. I thought they were a bit odd and annoying but they grew on me over time and I love them now. This isn't an album that I revisit very often but after listening to it again today I think it will be. Favourite song: psycho killer
This is one of the highest rated albums of all time and to be honest I have no idea why. This wouldn't be to my usual taste so I went into this completely objective and even then I still couldn't figure out why people love it so much. His voice goes straight through me, the instrumentation is alright but nothing special and it's way too long. I love long songs and albums but only when they're actually enjoyable to listen to and this was almost painful. There were a few instrumental parts that were decent but they were followed by horrible vocals or some really boring jazz. If I was to rate this based on it's influence and popularity, I'd give it 3 stars but being completely objective and rating it based on my own enjoyment, I have to give it 1 star
I don't know what I was expecting from this album but it certainly wasn't this. I'm pleasantly surprised
The best album of one of my favourite bands and one of the few albums that I would call perfect. Every song on this is incredible. The guitar work is phenomenal. Knopfler is a genius. I have this album on vinyl and it's probably my favourite album to play since it's always great and never gets old. This is just great music, that's all. 5 stars. Highlights for me are: Sultans of swing, down to the waterline and six blade knife
I love The Doors so much. I genuinely don't think they have a single bad album and this album is absolutely perfect. Favourite songs: Blue Sunday and Indian Summer
I should've seen 'skip' as a warning
I'm sure this is a great rap album but I don't like rap at all. I also can't listen to that many slurs (or any at all tbf)
Not for me. Just no
Why does the singer sound drunk?
I love Bob Dylan
Sounds like something that would be played in an overpriced clothes shop with annoying white lighting
Boring
Had no idea reeling in the years was a Steely Dan song
Sounds like the music played in a film scene where they go back in time. Not bad but a bit boring and just nothing special
Huh
Love the Clash. This is great
Wow I hate Oasis and listening to this just enforced that
So this is where they got the Minecraft villager sound
I would probably love this if it wasn't for Anthony Keidis' insufferable vocals and how generic a lot of the songs are. The guitar work is great but it's mostly stereotypical rock and nothing special really
Yessss, finally a metal album!!! Love Metallica
I'm sure these are very talented and I can see why people would enjoy this but to me it sounds like music that would be played at a funeral and that's just not what I want to be listening to
This album is making me nostalgic for an era I wasn't even alive for
Despite what a lot of people say about Muse being basic, boring rock I love them and I think this is possibly their best album. There's some great popular songs like supermassive black hole and knights of Cydonia but also an underrated one, in my opinion, map of the problematique. 5 stars
Had high hopes for this album because I love the first song but the rest of the album just doesn't do much for me. It's not bad I just wouldn't listen to it again. Very overrated
Wouldn't it be nice if I never had to listen to this bullshit again? Yes
Sounds like elevator music but it's relaxing. 3 stars
Boring
Now this is an album you need to listen to before you die
This shouldn't even be considered to be music. It's just noise
