Popular Reviews

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah

Not for me. I just can't listen to hip hop music

I've never been much of a fan of Elton John but I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of this album. Though the last few songs were quite forgettable, the first few and some in the middle made up for that. Best songs: goodbye yellow brick road and benny and the jets

Moondance by Van Morrison

This is the type of music you would hear in a posh cocktail bar somewhere in London or at a dinner party in your rich auntie's house. It's not my usual taste but I don't immediately want to turn it off as soon as it comes on either. It's more so background music for me than something I would sit down and listen to. I'd rather listen to The Doors

Purple Rain by Prince

Bit of a controversial take but I really don't like this album. I thought I was going to love it based on it's reviews and the many claims that it's the best pop album of all time but I didn't. I don't understand why people love it so much. The only decent song on this album is Purple Rain but even that was a bit disappointing

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jan 08 2026

It was ok. Some great guitar riffs but overall not really a standout album for me. I thought a couple of the songs eg Under the bridge were completely unlistenable so wouldn't listen to this again

Green by R.E.M.
Jan 09 2026

Though I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of REM I do listen to them occasionally and even have a few of their songs on my playlist. I hadn't heard of this album until now and I think it was a solid album overall. I wasn't sure I was going to like it at first as I thought the first few songs weren't great but I think it redeemed itself a bit with the last few songs which I will definitely be coming back to

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jan 10 2026

I really want to love Bowie and though I can really enjoy some of his music, I just can't get behind a lot of it. I hadn't listened to this album before and I hoped it would blow me away and get me into his music but it didn't do that. It had it's great moments, I was surprised to hear such beautiful piano in parts, but I don't feel like it left much of an impact on me. Two standout songs for me were Life on Mars and Song For Bob Dylan

Moondance by Van Morrison
Jan 11 2026

This is the type of music you would hear in a posh cocktail bar somewhere in London or at a dinner party in your rich auntie's house. It's not my usual taste but I don't immediately want to turn it off as soon as it comes on either. It's more so background music for me than something I would sit down and listen to. I'd rather listen to The Doors

Revolver by Beatles
Jan 12 2026

That was genuinely painful to listen to. I never want to listen to this group of whiny wife beaters ever again. No seriously, separating the art from the artist....wait no I can't because this isn't art. Yellow submarine sounds like something I would've had to sing around a campfire when I was in the girl guides and the rest of this album was equally as unlistenable. Beatles fans need to touch grass and listen to some real music (Pink Floyd)

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Jan 13 2026

Fun to listen to, but didn't really stand out to me. I can see why some people would rate this fairly high but it's really not my usual taste. Refreshing after having to listen to the Beatles though (which I got yesterday)

Dog Man Star by Suede
Jan 14 2026

Wasn't into Suede before listening to this but I think I'll have to be now. This album is everything rock music should be: incredible guitar, beautiful vocals and even some enchanting orchestral pieces. I can't see how I give this any less than 5 stars. Near perfect album with no skips

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Jan 15 2026

Thank fuck I only have to listen to this once

Jan 19 2026

I've never been much of a fan of Elton John but I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of this album. Though the last few songs were quite forgettable, the first few and some in the middle made up for that. Best songs: goodbye yellow brick road and benny and the jets

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Jan 20 2026

This album is nearly 70 years old and it sounds like it. That's all I have to say

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jan 21 2026
The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jan 24 2026

While I don't agree with Morrissey's political views at all and just don't like him as a person in general, I still can't deny that this is a near perfect album. I have always loved The Smiths and I believe this is their best album. This album is beautiful from start to finish and it never gets old. Stand out songs for me: I know it's over, Frankly, Mr Shankly and There is a light that never goes out

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Jan 25 2026

This has to be the best debut album of all time. I love every second of it and would give it 10 stars if I could. Led Zeppelin were the band that got me into rock music and honestly just music in general. I never get bored of Robert Plant's incredible voice and Jimmy Page's electricrifying guitar playing. This album has no skips but my favourite songs have to be: babe I'm gonna leave you and dazed and confused

Purple Rain by Prince
Jan 26 2026

Bit of a controversial take but I really don't like this album. I thought I was going to love it based on it's reviews and the many claims that it's the best pop album of all time but I didn't. I don't understand why people love it so much. The only decent song on this album is Purple Rain but even that was a bit disappointing

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
Jan 28 2026

Not for me. I just can't listen to hip hop music

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jan 30 2026

Hauntingly beautiful, love it

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Feb 01 2026

This is the kind of music that I would only enjoy if I was on holiday (which I'm not) or if I smoked weed (which I don't). It's decent music but not really my taste. All of the songs kind of sound the same and, as a result, it just fades into the background for me. It's still pleasant though and much better than a lot of the albums I got before it

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Feb 03 2026
Electric by The Cult
Feb 04 2026

When I first saw the album cover of this I thought I was finally getting a metal album. But no, this is the most generic hard rock I've ever heard. It's by no means bad since I love this type of music (Led Zeppelin is one of my favourite bands) but there's nothing new or special here

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Feb 06 2026

I was listening to this while studying for my physics degree that's taking over my life at the moment and for the duration of the album I was able to imagine that I had a much more interesting life than I do. So that was nice. Favourite song: all my friends

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
Feb 07 2026

I hate the Beatles and all of the members. I will not be listening to this

Face to Face by The Kinks
Feb 08 2026

I appreciate how influential The Kinks were but I just can't get into their music. It's too boring for me and the vocals are annoying

Ziggy Stardust is Bowie's best album by far. I would give it 5 stars except I just can't get behind Moonage Daydream and Suffragette City for some reason. Other than that this is a perfect album. My favourite song: Five years

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Feb 19 2026

I had no idea what to expect from this album. I had a feeling I was going to enjoy it from reading some of the reviews but nothing could've prepared me for the eclectic masterpiece that is this album. The variety of sounds, instrumentation and beautiful vocals left me speechless and almost emotional. I felt like I was on a journey through a life portrayed solely through music. This was definitely a life-changing experience for me

Close To You by Carpenters
Feb 22 2026

Cheesy bullshit music. I don't know how anyone can listen to this

Dust by Screaming Trees
Feb 23 2026
Being There by Wilco
Feb 27 2026

Loved the first song. The rest was quite forgettable though unfortunately

Slayed? by Slade
Mar 01 2026

I didn't know the band who sang Merry Christmas everybody were also a very generic rock band but you learn something new everyday I guess

1999 by Prince
Mar 03 2026
Mar 04 2026

I thought I liked Blur but this album is so long and boring. Every song sounds the same. I had to turn it off half way through

Mar 06 2026

I've never liked hip-hop. The lyrics are just nonsense and sound like they were written in about 10 minutes. There's no real talent here

Our Aim Is To Satisfy by Red Snapper
Mar 08 2026

I don't think this was an album that I had to listen to before I die but I've had worse I guess

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Mar 16 2026

Yessss, finally a metal album!! I love Alice in Chains so much and I have to say this is their best album so far. There's so many incredible songs on this but my favourites would have to be rooster, down in a whole, them bones and would?

Ten by Pearl Jam
Mar 24 2026
Goo by Sonic Youth
Mar 27 2026
The New Tango by Astor Piazzolla
Apr 03 2026

If you're ever looking for some good study music this album is great. I got up quite early this morning to study for my physics final and normally I would find it difficult to get started but I locked in pretty much straight away. This is great

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Apr 04 2026

I don't care what anyone says. I love this album

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Apr 06 2026

I started listening to Talking Heads after a friend put me on to them and at first I wasn't sure about them. I thought they were a bit odd and annoying but they grew on me over time and I love them now. This isn't an album that I revisit very often but after listening to it again today I think it will be. Favourite song: psycho killer

Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Apr 07 2026

This is one of the highest rated albums of all time and to be honest I have no idea why. This wouldn't be to my usual taste so I went into this completely objective and even then I still couldn't figure out why people love it so much. His voice goes straight through me, the instrumentation is alright but nothing special and it's way too long. I love long songs and albums but only when they're actually enjoyable to listen to and this was almost painful. There were a few instrumental parts that were decent but they were followed by horrible vocals or some really boring jazz. If I was to rate this based on it's influence and popularity, I'd give it 3 stars but being completely objective and rating it based on my own enjoyment, I have to give it 1 star

Feast of Wire by Calexico
Apr 09 2026

I don't know what I was expecting from this album but it certainly wasn't this. I'm pleasantly surprised

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Apr 10 2026

The best album of one of my favourite bands and one of the few albums that I would call perfect. Every song on this is incredible. The guitar work is phenomenal. Knopfler is a genius. I have this album on vinyl and it's probably my favourite album to play since it's always great and never gets old. This is just great music, that's all. 5 stars. Highlights for me are: Sultans of swing, down to the waterline and six blade knife

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Apr 11 2026

I love The Doors so much. I genuinely don't think they have a single bad album and this album is absolutely perfect. Favourite songs: Blue Sunday and Indian Summer

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Apr 13 2026

I should've seen 'skip' as a warning

Illmatic by Nas
Apr 14 2026

I'm sure this is a great rap album but I don't like rap at all. I also can't listen to that many slurs (or any at all tbf)

Beyond Skin by Nitin Sawhney
Apr 19 2026

Sounds like something that would be played in an overpriced clothes shop with annoying white lighting

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Apr 21 2026

Had no idea reeling in the years was a Steely Dan song

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Apr 22 2026

Sounds like the music played in a film scene where they go back in time. Not bad but a bit boring and just nothing special

London Calling by The Clash
Apr 27 2026

Love the Clash. This is great

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
May 10 2026

So this is where they got the Minecraft villager sound

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
May 12 2026

I would probably love this if it wasn't for Anthony Keidis' insufferable vocals and how generic a lot of the songs are. The guitar work is great but it's mostly stereotypical rock and nothing special really

Metallica by Metallica
May 16 2026

Yessss, finally a metal album!!! Love Metallica

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
May 17 2026
Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
May 19 2026

I'm sure these are very talented and I can see why people would enjoy this but to me it sounds like music that would be played at a funeral and that's just not what I want to be listening to

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
May 23 2026

This album is making me nostalgic for an era I wasn't even alive for

1984 by Van Halen
May 26 2026
May 27 2026

Despite what a lot of people say about Muse being basic, boring rock I love them and I think this is possibly their best album. There's some great popular songs like supermassive black hole and knights of Cydonia but also an underrated one, in my opinion, map of the problematique. 5 stars

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 30 2026

Had high hopes for this album because I love the first song but the rest of the album just doesn't do much for me. It's not bad I just wouldn't listen to it again. Very overrated

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 01 2026

Wouldn't it be nice if I never had to listen to this bullshit again? Yes

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jun 03 2026

Sounds like elevator music but it's relaxing. 3 stars

Dummy by Portishead
Jun 07 2026

Now this is an album you need to listen to before you die

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Jun 11 2026

This shouldn't even be considered to be music. It's just noise

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Jun 12 2026
Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 14 2026
Devil Without A Cause by Kid Rock
Jun 15 2026

I get why so many people hate this album. It's very annoying and I couldn't wait for it to be over. But I don't think it should be the third lowest rated album of all 1089 albums on the list. I've had much worse ones already and I'd listen to this over The Beatles or The Beach Boys any day

American Idiot by Green Day
Jun 16 2026

Not a massive Green Day fan but this album surely has some bangers. Highlights: boulevard of broken dreams and wake me up when September ends

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jun 17 2026
Jun 18 2026

I'm by no means a rap fan but I'd be lying if I said I didn't get any enjoyment out of this

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Jun 21 2026

This is either intentionally awful or I'm missing something

Smash by The Offspring
Jun 28 2026

I'd probably give this 5 stars if the vocals weren't so obnoxious

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jun 29 2026
The Wall by Pink Floyd
Jun 30 2026

I don't normally write long reviews on this app but I think this album is very deserving of one since Pink Floyd is my favourite band and this, in my opinion, is their best album Not only is this album a musical masterpiece it's incredibly strong lyrically and teaches a very important lesson through the depiction of the life of the fictional character Pink The album follows the life of Pink from childhood where he loses his father during WWII and is left with just his mother whose struggles due to the loss of her husband rub off on him and are another contribution to the metaphorical wall he is building around himself to protect his emotions from the harsh world around him, "of course mama's gonna help build the wall". Later he is impacted by the school system which mistreats students and treats them like cogs in a machine (or bricks in a wall). This is another contribution to his wall. As the album goes on he faces more struggles eg his marriage breaking down and he continues to build his wall higher and higher and to push more people away. This coping mechanism is recognised to be to his detriment though as he becomes lonely and depressed in the later songs of the album and begins to cry out for help, "is there anybody out there" There's a lot more to be said about this album (I could write an entire essay just on Comfortably Numb) but I think the main message is that when there's so much hardship going on around someone and the whole world seems to be against them it's easy to turn their back on everyone and everything and to forget that there is some good left in the world in the form of their friends and family. No one, no matter how successful (like Pink being a wealthy rockstar) is better off alone and we all need good people to give meaning to our lives Fame and fortune will only get you so far but even with all the money in the world you can still experience despair and loneliness to the point of possible suicidality (as Pink seemed to in "one of my turns") or just a meaningless existence. I think that no matter what genre of music you're into you should give this album a listen. It's nearly 50 years old but just as relevant today as it was in 1979 and long before that, with themes reminiscent of my favourite book Crime and Punishment (where the main character, Raskolnikov, has similar disillusionments with the world around him and pushes people away the same as Pink does) I believe this album deserves to have a completely separate rating to all of the other albums I've rated so far but since it's the most I can award it, I give it 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Boston by Boston

Diamond Life by Sade
Jul 06 2026

Love this. My dad loves Sade and used to put this album on when we were on holiday when I was a child. Reminds me of sitting on a balcony at night playing cards in Spain or France. Very nostalgic

In Rainbows by Radiohead
Jul 07 2026

Incredible from beginning to end. Radiohead never disappoints

Tommy by The Who
Jul 11 2026

Interesting that Keith Moon claimed Led Zeppelin, one of the best bands of all time, would go down like a "lead balloon" when his own band was this awful

Music by Madonna
Jul 12 2026

Why do electronic music artists always want to sound like a robot?

Brothers by The Black Keys

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Aug 08 2026

A wise friend of mine once said that Wish You Were Here is the best album of all time and I think I'm starting to agree

Permission to Land by The Darkness
Aug 09 2026

The vocals remind me of the tiptoe through the tulips man (can't remember his name)
