Great album
Not my cup of tea
Classic country, about as country as I can go. But listenable.
Not my thing at all. Lasted 3 songs
Not my style, but I understand it’s significance and value
Had heard this before and it's decent, but really Take Me Out is THE JAM here, with most of the rest being...ok.
Good album 💿 d not heard before
Such a classic have listened to it dozens and dozens of times over the years. I Looked At You is an all time fave underrated tune.
Don’t recall listening to this one before. Solid
It's "OK" I like the middle eastern/world influence but it's not really relaxing/grooving OR jamming.
Great album, owned the disc, good to be reminded of this one.
Ok
Good listen but it’s manly the weight & chest fever…
Struggled through this. Reminded my of a reporter friend in the early 90s, a guy who was all about this band. Never got that.
Second paul Simon only a couple dozen albums in - first repeat artist. Have listened to this one hundreds of times. All time classic & THE INTRO to African jams.
My parents has this vinyl when I was a kid and I spun it in HS and college. Great harmonies and that classic CSN.
Adequate
Decent
Never listened before but of course heard lots of the tunes. Solid & a good example of why this exercise is good.
Bright back funny memories and still resonates strongly lyrically
Not my thing. Didn’t make it thru it.
Definitely not my thing…couldn’t do it. But I tried….
classic and a great listen to revisit
Wow! Didn’t expect to see this one….
Didn’t make it thru. Too much of a mix of kenny g, índigo girls & Ben fold, none of which i like. Tried listening while starting a work day & it hot off to a goober-y start.
Well, they intrigued me right away with the “Teenage Head” title, as this a.m. my 18 yr old son was prattling on about being excited to “get back on the creatine,” i said muttered to myself “damned teenage brain.” & comin off of the 1001 suggested Everything But The Girl listen, this was a welcome change. Heard off them before and maybe listened once (maybe in the last 6 mo after seeing the name in Creem) before. Some kinda Stones Exile/iggy reminiscent vibes to start. “shakin all over” cover definitely caught my ear, “that’ll be the day” not as much. The run of covers at the end isn’t bad, just all sounds kinda the same. Makes me curious about the band’s later efforts, which I may check out. After the album, Spotty fed me “Shake Some Action” next, which I think I may have heard a long time ago. It’s “ok” This band aligns with The Pretty Things in terms of really old bands I never discovered before - highlighting the value of this exercise.
Never listened to this in entirety, heard a bunch of the songs, obviously. Good album. Not as good as brick rd tho
Great album, good to revisit. Hope you’re feeling better is one of my fave Santana songs off the beaten path & mothers daughter.
Best rhcp album, last of the really good ones
Ugh. Not my jam.
Wanted to listen to this band as I’d never heard before but they were highly regarded in Creem. It’s ok
One of the albums I have downloaded on the phone!
Pretty good chill/spacey tunes I’d never heard of
Never listened to an entire Elvis album til now. It's about what I recalled of Elvis. Flashing back to Brian Logan's house the day Elvis died and his mom flipping out....
Probably listened to this in its entirety ack in college. Good one.
Never heard this and don’t really recall hearing any of the songs. Interesting but not my style.
Like Oasis light, which is not really worth it.
One of my most listened to albums proffered thus far. A complete classic start to finish.
Great classic album that reminds me I don't listen to Frank enough.
Heard of band but didn’t know anything about them. Album was meh.
Ok album with some great songs on it and some that weren’t really listenable, even driving up the ski hill with my 18 yr old hard music liking son…
Not my jam
It’s listenable rap for me, which is saying something. Good beats & groovy enough. The Meaning of the Name is my favorite tune on it. I do love their tune It’s Getting Hectic w/ the Brand New Heavies.
Meh. Knew their big hit wasn’t crazy about it, and this album didn’t change my mind…
Great snapshot of our society at that time and good listen
Classic
First listen. Only knew “coconut”. Not bad but not something I’d listen to again.
Great album, takes me back to the early 2000s!
Another classic I’ve listened to dozens (more)? Of times, between albums, cassettes discs & streams. Just about every tune is good or great.
Another classic, had this on vinyl. Always good to get back to some screaming guitars with great organ from Gregg….
Not my thing….
Another classic
Great album, had heard a few of these & always thought they were S.D. tunes. Can’t go wrong with that smooth groove sound. Maybe heard this back in college?
Great one I’d never heard. Downloaded it right away.
Wanted to like this but it didn’t catch me right
Top 25 album? Fave or 2nd fave stones am um
Solid album beyond the hits
Great listen, never heard it. Miles is the man but I’m still learning to lean into it…
Interesting
Solid album I hadn’t heard in years (but only listened to in entirety probably once). Bunch of popular tunes though….
Classic, listened on vinyl, the cassette & CD…
Great disc, was pretty revolutionary when it came out. I think i Got the disc from a BMG offer! 😂
Solid album I hadn’t heard in years (but only listened to in entirety probably once). Bunch of popular tunes though….
Not my thing and not listenable
Classic funk
In retrospect I dig this. I did not when it came out😂
Great album
Ok not my jam
Takes me back to childhood….still holds up.
I like this type of music but this one didn’t resonate
Unfinishable
Nah
Hadn’t listened to in decade(s?). Good still way out there but good transition from Genesis is really interesting as he grew into the pop star.
Top 25 all time album - maybe top 10, have listened to it in its entirety so many times, maybe 200 - 40 years at 5 times a year? May be a lot more. Listened today while power skiing (nearly rage skiing) & sung most of the album while jamming hard, made me miss Shady a lot.
Great album taking me back to fun days, just enough Gabriel weirdness to make it so that I enjoyed it versus just being pop radio songs.
I tried, I really did….skip skip skip, mid album bail…
I’d rather listen to Neil’s Transfomer.
Classic and always a great listen.
Classic and always a great listen.
Two man in black from jails in a short time…no Beatles rush petty….algorithm is jammed up!
Hadn’t listened to this one in ages. Still a classic well beyond Layla. Many other gems.
A revelation! Love this & never heard it. This is my kinda jazz!
Worst Bowie album I’ve ever heard. Tried liking it. Wasn’t happening.
Not necessarily one that I’d go to often or even one of my favorites of his but a good one nonetheless.
Not my style never heard before other than the hit tunes, but mostly listenable.
Meh. I love Vision Thing. Tried this on the stair machine & it just didn’t work.
Such a classic and right there with Sticky Fingers as my fave stones album.
Just listened to this the other day. Great one.
Back to back Radiohead….interesting. Love this one too
Like this, but 2 hrs 33 min is a lot to ask. Sounds all the same.
Thought it’d be unlistenable but it was pretty decent only skipped a couple songs. Who knew.
I recall the phrase “Jacque Brel is alive and well” from when I was a kid. This was tolerable but I was glad it was only 28 min.
Good one have listened before
Never heard it, good stuff.
Tried. Didn’t work for me.
Like this one, heard it before, have been a HUGE fan of the first song for maybe a decade
Don’t think I’ve listened to this in its entirety which is surprising. Good early pre rocking out Who.
Grew up with this one in my parents’ turntable. Still sounds great.
Classic. Every tune is a great one. Carried the torch from Zeppelin 1. I think this was my first cassette….
Never heard a single of these before and it was a good listen!
All time classic. Always good to hear it again. It altered the course of rock music.
Good jams I’d never heard before other than a couple. Would Relisten…
One of my absolute faves - I bet I don’t go more than 8 months without listening to this one in its entirety too often. Such a breakthrough album that changed so much in modern music…
Never heard before - great stuff!
Such a classic takes me right back to its release & listening to it blare from the blue bus speakers in way to football game for LTS, and or skiing at holiday valley.
I put this a 4 mainly because of the memories it brings and the ubiquity of it at the time, I owned the cassette and liked the whole thing. Still sounds good bringing the david lee fun with the Alex riffs.
I wasn’t in the sauna or just chilling so listening to this today made my day a bit slow to start, but I dig this album for saunaing or chilling in a plane. Have liked it since the 80s when Rob Sirovica put some tracks on a mix cassette called Music to Transcend with and within.
