Absolute classic album. Not the biggest fan of psychedelia but this is an all timer for a reason
Really solid Garage Rock Album, catchy songwriting
Despite what Kanye has turned into. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy still holds tall as a landmark album
Solid Album. This style of Folksy Pop just isn't for me though. Joan is very important in the musical landscape however.
A solid mix of really good, classic rock songs and blues.
Its fine, nothing super groundbreaking and a little monotonous
Not the First QOTSA Album I would have put on the list but man their debut is still a banger. Starts to lose a little steam toward the end but doesnt fall off enough to lose points.
Not a terrible group of songs, but man it just feels so long. I feel like it would be a better album with some songs cut from the run time to make it onto a single disc.
Absolute Classic Jazz Fusion album. I understand its def not for everyone but for those who like jazz fusion it is a must listen
Way ahead of its time for an album that came out in the 60's. Laid the foundations for punk. Unfortunately is a little dated for me. Still a solid listen and good to see the roots of punk starting to show
Hidden gem of an album. Fun trip hop beats. If your into massive attack need to give this another listen
Truly a devastating album. Nick's vocals and guitar are masterclass on this.
Steely Dan is def transitioning from their tight pop on their debut to the more yacht rock sounds they would later come to exemplify but this is still a great showing from the band
Starts off a little slow, but catchy hooks and lyrics help carry this album higher then i expected it to place
Album has some Highlights (Come on Eileen, Jackie Wilson) and some solid songwriting. Unfortunately i do feel it comes across as a little samey over the run time. Still a unique sound but songs start to blend together near the end
First half of the album is amazing, Walk of Life, Money for Nothing and So far away are great tracks. however after that the album just drags. So many slow tempo songs with some nice guitar arrangements. The back half of the album just starts blending together and is a slog to get through.
Another kind of listless meandering album. Lead Singer has a good voice but the album just drags on at the same tempo each song and the instrumentals just are meh to me. Nothing really bad but nothing really groundbreaking or memorable either
Man another album that just feels like a 3. The hits are really strong (Sledgehammer, Big Time, In Your Eyes) but the other songs are just boring slogs to get through and feel like filler
Good shoegaze album but man it does start to drag on at the end. Original LP release being ~30 minutes is nice. the CD release at 50 minutes is a bit much for my tastes
If you live anywhere in the US or the UK im sure you've heard these songs billions of times. You do not need to listen to this album at all. I get what the author was going for but holiday music feels really out of place on this list
Great album from public enemy. Trailblazers of rap and sampling.
Wonderful Jazz arrangements, Sinatra has a perfect voice for this. Lovely music to lounge to.
Feels like substandard britpop.
I just don't really see what made Robbie Williams into such a Megastar in the UK. Angels is an alright ballad and Let Me Entertain You is a nice piece but nothing here screams out to me as a cultural touchstone
Good Production, Feels like it drags a little long but its also not a genre im super into
Solid Big Band and Swing Album. I'm Glad its here but not something ill be checking out again anytime soon unfortunately.
Prince is a phenomenal Artist and has written a great collection of tracks on this album. I personally dont vibe with some of the tracks and it can go a little bit long. Still a big reccomendation.
Great voice, Great sound. Cold is a stand out track, percussion really stands out. Great listen
More 60's psychedelia. I'm sure at the time this was a big deal but I just cannot get into this. There are some nice songs here but it gets bigger down by the trappings of the genre
Actually really enjoyed this one. Great hooks and melodies and some good production
While most likely a landmark in the electronic genre, it falls into the same style as the jam bands and improv heavy music that i just dont really care for. Ambience is nice though
Sounds good for the first handful of songs but it is just so monotonous and repetitive. Im sure if i was under the influence of something it would be a more enjoyable listen but there just isnt enough meat on these bones to sustain repeated listens let alone a fulfilling first listen
Not My favorite from the Beatles. Still very strong in their Jangle Pop era. Just not for me.
Legendary beats let down by some subpar rhymes from 50 cent. However it's not so bad that it detracts from the total package. Just stops it from being a 5 star
You can always expect a solid outing from these guys. However I don't feel like I could give this a 5. 4 stars feels proper for the most consistent band on the planet
There isnt much more quintissential hair metal then Def Leppard. Pyromania is a really solid album with some banger tracks on it. Personally not super into hair metal but I cant deny this albums appeal. Not a 5 star for me but def a 4 star album
Fun New Wave Album. Singles are very good but the other tracks just cant compete with them bringing down the experience a little bit
First Radiohead album i got on the list. Def not my favorite output from them. The pieces are all there but its missing that special sauce that makes their other albums stick out more. Im sure on repeat listens this one will improve the score but im feeling a strong 3 to this one
Really solid Post-punk release. Not something ill come back to but its a solid showing that sits at the right length 4/5
Really good pop album with some solid singles
The most misunderstood song possible on an album that is pretty solid even if it isn't my jam
Not My favorite Radiohead album. Tough to follow up OK Computer and Kid A though. Still like this one more then Hail to the Thief. 4/5
First impression - Why is this album 2 hours long? Has quite a few amazing tracks in here, great production. Only complaint is in its length. After doing research i can see why they included apple jam at the time but i feel like cutting that out makes this a more enjoyable repeat listen. Still give it a spin though first time through. Not a 5 for me but i can see why people would give it such a rating 4/5
Not really feeling much from this one. Nothing too positive or negative. Another Solid 3/5
Landmark electronic album. Incredibly influential. Great beats, iconic tracks. Still not my favorite prodigy album but a 5 star album still
Its not a big minority, but I really miss this era of SOAD. Self-titled and toxicity are amazing albums and I wish they stuck with this sound a bit more. Easy 5/5
Interesting blend of rock and funk, but i dont feel like it quite gets there in the end. All the songs seem like they are missing that x-factor to push them over the edge. Songs blend together too much with the brass sections sounding so similar song over song with the trumpets drowning out so much of the rest of the band. 2/5
Absolutely legendary Intro song. Followed up by a lot of dreamy, meandering pop. Once again, not really feeling too strongly either way on this one. Perfectly fine 3/5
One of the greatest prog rock debuts of all time. The Mars Volta comes out swinging with a tremendous 10 song trip that has some great hooks and melodies hearkening back to the forefathers in the genre. I can see some people not enjoying the longer instrumental passages and the overall length but to me its perfect. 5/5
