Too trad/lounge for me I’m afraid - rounders as opposed to cricket as it were. 2/10. Tom.

“I have never found a way of enjoying listening to this album despite often wanting to. I have always thought that “Vege-tables” was a great song though, for which an overall 2 stars”. Tom.

There is very little that gets my goat as completely as “faux indie” so I was surprised to find that this was quite the best of the one star albums we’ve endured so far. Tom.

I enjoyed this, although I prefer “Singer of Sad Songs” as an album. A solid two stars. Tom.

They would do anything To materialize their every wish… 4 stars.

I love Scottish Pop, I love Dream Pop, I love Shoegaze, I love 4AD, I love that moment in the late 80’s when indie bands popped their heads above the Radio 1 daytime playlist parapet and I love the Cocteau Twins and from that landscape RGP gives us this…FFS…top of the 2 star albums thus far. Tom.

Not for me, but top of the current one stars given he sang the lead vocals on “God Only Knows”.

I like this album, a very strange mix of Roddy Frame meeting Rod Stewart with Edwyn on the production decks. “Stay” is a great song - 3 stars.

This is terrible, although TBF unlike most albums this far down in the one stars there are fleeting moments when listenabilty breaks through…Tom.

My 4th favourite OutKast album, love it. Tom.

Noodles away a bit after a very strong start with “Cinnamon Girl” but a solid three stars for this.

I only have this on CD, what a CD though, soaring among the 4 stars!!!!!! Tom.

I quite like “Rolling In The Deep” but this is unlistenable, albeit more listenable than the Zep and the other albums unfeasibly below 25 in the one stars. Tom.

Absolutely incredible, “Breathless” is often in or around the top 10 of my “All Time Favourite Songs of All Time” list.

“When Love Breaks Down” worth three stars on it’s own…⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ummmm…a tricky one, for the first 20 seconds or so of most of the songs I feel that perhaps I shouldn’t disparage it as much as I do then the cod philosophy kicks in alongside the saccharine melody, reminding me why it sits so firmly among the one stars, albeit superior to Deep Purple. Tom.

I know I should like this and I’ve tried hard quite a few times over the years including this morning to find a way to do so, but I just don’t I’m afraid. In no way terrible just doesn’t grab me. 2 stars. Tom.

I hadn’t listened to this in a while, and it was more disappointing than I recalled, all a bit sub Beta Band/Gomez, “A Minha Menina” remains a great tune though. Solid two stars.

I had no preconceptions of this at all, absolutely not terrible but pretty bad, “War In Peace” bears another listen, if only for the proto sampling - towards the top of the one stars. Tom.

Why RGP do you unfailingly provide us with the least satisfying work of the artists featured, still plenty of time for duplicates I suppose but do come on now. I can’t in good conscience give this a one but right down among the bottom of the 2 stars…Tom.

One can only hope there are more White Stripes albums to come, what this one is doing on this list is anyone’s guess…2 stars. Tom.

Not terrible, weirdly the 4th two star album in a row all by bands who have much better work in their back catalogue. Tom.

Unfeasibly even less listenable than CSN, not to mention Elton John, Cat Stevens and Deep Purple - towards the rock bottom of the one stars albeit that “Colorado” keeps it above AC/DC, Alanis, Tears For Fears et al…

For the love of god…FFS. Is this slightly worse or slightly better than Petty? I can’t really judge, or moreover care as it is so so horrible to listen to. Tom.

I thought this was quite good, ridiculously derivative but listenable enough although I wasn’t that disappointed when it ended as it were. Towards the bottom of the two stars but two stars nonetheless not least for “Life’s A Beach”. Tom.

I went with this in 1995, hard not to in those days given DG’s immediate past, but I don’t go with it now, a horrifying re-listen scraping into the two stars. Tom.

Another dreadful album that was no where near as bad as I expected it would be - it is getting crowded among the upper mid table of the one stars. Tom.

I have never got on with this, nice enough but I prefer Uncle Tupelo. Two stars. Tom.

Another Byrds adjacent offering, do try and mix it up RGP. I mean I like GC, I like The Byrds but this is towards the top of the one stars at best, although “From A Silver Phial” almost put it into the two stars. Tom.

New to me and I quite enjoyed it, the good songs like “Fertilizer” were very good. Two stars. Tom.

Unfeasibly worse even than LZ IV…blimey RGP you’re hitting some one star lows this week… “Lenny Bruce declares a truce…” FFS!!!!!!! Having somehow finally got through the full 90 minutes I can confirm it’s a very weird listening experience as there are slightly more than a few interesting moments, which are considerably outweighed by the incredibly low quality of everything else. I know nothing of Genesis but can only assume Collins used a veto… Tom.

I have no words to express my contempt and disinterest in ZZ Top, although having said that the bearded wonders have produced the two biggest surprises of my 1001 listening journey so far. The first was the unexpected lo-fi type quality to the vocals and guitar towards the end of the otherwise unspeakable and misogynistic “Legs” and the other was this LP, which turned out not to be the very very worst of the duplicates we’ve had to endure so far, proving itself to somehow be more listenable than the recent Led Zep one… FFS. One of the all time least deserved stars of all time. Tom.

Dear god no…I think this is actually the worst album I have ever heard. Quite how anything manages to be more unpleasant than Iron Maiden, Tears For Fears, Michael Jackson, Petty, ZZ Top, Nine Inch Nails, The Police, Rush, Genesis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Metallica is a mystery and I am always curious about a mystery… Tom.

92 minutes is a long time but this wasn’t too bad at all, above the middle of the two stars for “The Walker” alone. Tom.

I have no idea how Bowie’s Nazism has no impact on his almost universally accepted status as a national treasure, it can’t be the quality of the songs he wrote up to 1980, even though in the main those songs, including all 11 here, are of a remarkably high quality. Furrowed brow - 5 stars. Tom.

You are are quite a run here RGP… After “Hunky Dory” yesterday it has been two days in a row where you have given us the best LP by an artist, remarkable stuff… If the final four songs here aren’t the four best closing album tracks of all time I don’t know what are. Tom.

The album though was new to me and although dreadful, not uniformly so, ‘The Chauffeur’ being odd enough to be interesting for example.
