Popular Reviews

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash

Live albums don’t count…plus I’ve never really understood the mythology around this, misogyny, animal cruelty and blame based humour, what’s to love? One star but not among the very worst of the one stars. Tom.

The Wall by Pink Floyd

Ouch, a far too pleased with itself duplicate alert…a riot of one star tediousness, where oh where is Piper at The Gates of Dawn or Syd’s solo stuff RGP? Tom.

Synchronicity by The Police

Actively unpleasant to listen to. There is literally no need for this RGP, right towards the bottom of one stars… Tom.

Goo by Sonic Youth

OMG, they signed to a major, when did that happen? Tom.

The Yes Album by Yes

This is terrible, although TBF unlike most albums this far down in the one stars there are fleeting moments when listenabilty breaks through…Tom.

“I have never found a way of enjoying listening to this album despite often wanting to. I have always thought that “Vege-tables” was a great song though, for which an overall 2 stars”. Tom.

Teen Dream by Beach House
Jan 29 2026

There is very little that gets my goat as completely as “faux indie” so I was surprised to find that this was quite the best of the one star albums we’ve endured so far. Tom.

Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings
Jan 30 2026

I enjoyed this, although I prefer “Singer of Sad Songs” as an album. A solid two stars. Tom.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 31 2026

They would do anything To materialize their every wish… 4 stars.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Feb 01 2026

FFS…unlistenable!!!!!!!

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Feb 02 2026

I love Scottish Pop, I love Dream Pop, I love Shoegaze, I love 4AD, I love that moment in the late 80’s when indie bands popped their heads above the Radio 1 daytime playlist parapet and I love the Cocteau Twins and from that landscape RGP gives us this…FFS…top of the 2 star albums thus far. Tom.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Feb 04 2026

Make it stop, FFS…Right down there among the bottom of the one stars. Tom.

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Feb 05 2026

Not for me, but top of the current one stars given he sang the lead vocals on “God Only Knows”.

A Walk Across The Rooftops by The Blue Nile
Feb 06 2026

I like this album, a very strange mix of Roddy Frame meeting Rod Stewart with Edwyn on the production decks. “Stay” is a great song - 3 stars.

The Yes Album by Yes
Feb 07 2026

This is terrible, although TBF unlike most albums this far down in the one stars there are fleeting moments when listenabilty breaks through…Tom.

Killing Joke by Killing Joke
Feb 15 2026

Lovely stuff, “Primitive” remains a great song, thanks for sharing RGP.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Feb 17 2026

Noodles away a bit after a very strong start with “Cinnamon Girl” but a solid three stars for this.

25 by Adele
Feb 19 2026

I quite like “Rolling In The Deep” but this is unlistenable, albeit more listenable than the Zep and the other albums unfeasibly below 25 in the one stars. Tom.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Feb 20 2026

Among my top 10 all time favourite albums of all time, thank you for sharing Random Generator Person❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Feb 21 2026

Love this, right towards the top of the three stars. Tom.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Feb 22 2026

Good album, great title, excellent band, the celebratory sing-a-long misogyny is horrible. Three stars. Tom.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Feb 23 2026

Not terrible, but pretty close - towards the bottom of the two stars. Tom.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Feb 24 2026

Feb 27 2026

This is beyond unlistenable, unfathomably worse than even Bat Out of Hell and the Zep…FFS!!!!! Tom.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Feb 28 2026

Right in the middle of the mid table of the two stars. Tom.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Mar 01 2026

Goo by Sonic Youth

Mar 08 2026

A treat, thank you RGP…Right up there towards the top of the three stars. Tom.

Purple Rain by Prince
Mar 10 2026

Uneven overall, the good songs are very good. Three stars. Tom.

Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Mar 11 2026

Absolutely incredible, “Breathless” is often in or around the top 10 of my “All Time Favourite Songs of All Time” list.

Mar 12 2026

Some great tunes on here, not least the title track but I could do without the milky cereal misogyny - two stars.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Mar 13 2026

Great album, love “My Best Friend” particularly - on the “Didn’t Make The Long List of My All Time Favourite Albums of All Time” list, so a solid three stars.

Bad by Michael Jackson
Mar 14 2026

FFS. I can’t believe there is something worse than Tears For Fears, physically unpleasant to listen to.

Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout
Mar 15 2026

“When Love Breaks Down” worth three stars on it’s own…⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Mar 16 2026

Ummmm…a tricky one, for the first 20 seconds or so of most of the songs I feel that perhaps I shouldn’t disparage it as much as I do then the cod philosophy kicks in alongside the saccharine melody, reminding me why it sits so firmly among the one stars, albeit superior to Deep Purple. Tom.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Mar 17 2026

I know I should like this and I’ve tried hard quite a few times over the years including this morning to find a way to do so, but I just don’t I’m afraid. In no way terrible just doesn’t grab me. 2 stars. Tom.

Repeater by Fugazi
Mar 18 2026

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - “We owe you nothing, you have no control”…Three stars. Tom.

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Mar 19 2026

I hadn’t listened to this in a while, and it was more disappointing than I recalled, all a bit sub Beta Band/Gomez, “A Minha Menina” remains a great tune though. Solid two stars.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Mar 20 2026

One of the all time great Hertfordshire albums❤️❤️❤️, perhaps the only one? Three stars.

1999 by Prince
Mar 21 2026

Great album, feels like there might be quite a lot more Prince to come…3 lovely stars…

Oar by Alexander 'Skip' Spence
Mar 22 2026

I had no preconceptions of this at all, absolutely not terrible but pretty bad, “War In Peace” bears another listen, if only for the proto sampling - towards the top of the one stars. Tom.

In It For The Money by Supergrass
Mar 23 2026

I like “Pumping On Your Stereo” and “Caught By The Fuzz” but this album is dreadful. Tom.

21 by Adele
Mar 24 2026

FFS…will there be more AC/DC too? Higher among the one stars than “25” due to “Rolling In The Deep”. Tom.

Mar 25 2026

Is every day going to be a duplicate from now on…great album though, 3 stars!!!!!!

Street Life by The Crusaders
Mar 27 2026

Not for me I’m afraid, scrapes into the bottom of the 2 stars on the strength of the title track. Tom.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Mar 29 2026

Seriously? That was my first thought, followed by honestly RGP what are you playing at now…but actually having now listened this was not as abjectly terrible as I’d assumed it would be, towards the bottom end of the 2 stars but 2 stars nonetheless.

New Wave by The Auteurs
Mar 30 2026

Lovely stuff RGP 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Mar 31 2026

Err…55 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back, utterly without merit.

Dummy by Portishead
Apr 01 2026

Ohhhh nice, not quite as close to 5 stars as I remembered but 4 stars nonetheless. Tom.

Apr 02 2026

I assumed this would get 5 stars but in the end was surprised and saddened to only give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the excellent songs remain excellent but the weaker ones weaker than I recall. Tom.

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Apr 03 2026

The ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s just keep on coming, great stuff RGP. Tom.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Apr 04 2026

4 four stars in a row❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️RGP you are really spoiling us…Tom.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Apr 05 2026

5 brilliant albums in a row RGP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - will we ever see this many ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s again?

Arise by Sepultura
Apr 06 2026

Oooohhhhh dear…dreadful stuff if easily the best of the metal albums so far, one star.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Apr 07 2026

Good enough album, too long maybe? Two stars.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Apr 08 2026

“See The Sky About To Rain” - what a tune, thank you RGP. Worth 3 stars by itself…

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
Apr 09 2026

A quality three stars…thank you RGP❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Apr 10 2026

Oh dear, obviously I’m conflicted given my feelings about WFC but do me a favour RGP this is absolutely dreadful…Tom.

Sea Change by Beck
Apr 11 2026

Nice enough, 2 stars. Let’s hope there are some Beck duplicates to come, honestly RGP what are you playing at giving us this from his back catalogue? Tom.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Apr 12 2026

Why RGP do you unfailingly provide us with the least satisfying work of the artists featured, still plenty of time for duplicates I suppose but do come on now. I can’t in good conscience give this a one but right down among the bottom of the 2 stars…Tom.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Apr 13 2026

One can only hope there are more White Stripes albums to come, what this one is doing on this list is anyone’s guess…2 stars. Tom.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Apr 14 2026

Not terrible, weirdly the 4th two star album in a row all by bands who have much better work in their back catalogue. Tom.

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Apr 15 2026

Unfeasibly even less listenable than CSN, not to mention Elton John, Cat Stevens and Deep Purple - towards the rock bottom of the one stars albeit that “Colorado” keeps it above AC/DC, Alanis, Tears For Fears et al…

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 16 2026

For the love of god…FFS. Is this slightly worse or slightly better than Petty? I can’t really judge, or moreover care as it is so so horrible to listen to. Tom.

Django Django by Django Django
Apr 17 2026

I thought this was quite good, ridiculously derivative but listenable enough although I wasn’t that disappointed when it ended as it were. Towards the bottom of the two stars but two stars nonetheless not least for “Life’s A Beach”. Tom.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters
Apr 18 2026

I went with this in 1995, hard not to in those days given DG’s immediate past, but I don’t go with it now, a horrifying re-listen scraping into the two stars. Tom.

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Apr 19 2026

A duplicate day but a great one…Four stars!!!!!!!

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Apr 20 2026

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - 4 stars

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Apr 21 2026

I literally have no words to describe how unlistenable this is, using creative language in response to music as tedious as it is misogynistic would be an insult to creative language. Tom.

Younger Than Yesterday by The Byrds
Apr 22 2026

Not their best work but an all round lovely three stars…”C.T.A. - 102” is a great song.

Vulnicura by Björk
Apr 23 2026

I love Björk, but wouldn’t often choose this LP when choosing something to listen to from her back catalogue. Two stars. Tom.

London Calling by The Clash
Apr 24 2026

4th best album we’ve heard so far, only the third best album by The Clash - bonz❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Five stars. Tom.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Apr 25 2026

The misogyny makes this a more difficult listen these days but it is a great record. Four stars. Tom.

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Apr 26 2026

New to me, beyond uninspiring but not quite dreadful enough for one star. Tom.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 27 2026

I think I probably have a copy of this but I couldn’t remember what it sounded like and having listened I didn’t like it, one star. Tom.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Apr 28 2026

Ouch, a far too pleased with itself duplicate alert…a riot of one star tediousness, where oh where is Piper at The Gates of Dawn or Syd’s solo stuff RGP? Tom.

Hms Fable by Shack
Apr 29 2026

Blimey, Michael Head, whatever next RGP…not the best thing in his back catalogue, which touches on remarkable quality at times, but a very solid two stars. Tom.

Very by Pet Shop Boys
Apr 30 2026

I remember now being surprised by how much I liked Side 1…Two stars. Tom.

May 01 2026

Love this, three stars, altogether now 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 “I went to school…” Tom.

May 02 2026

I didn’t enjoy this very much at all I’m afraid, although “It Makes No Difference Now” is a good song - not the worst of the one stars but quite a way from the top of that category. Potentially the most incongruous album title of all time too…Tom

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
May 03 2026

I had not heard this previously and happy to say it exceeded my expectations by proving to be not quite the very worst among the unlistenable albums we have been subjected to so far - one star. Tom.

Parallel Lines by Blondie
May 04 2026

A birthday treat - thank you RGP!!!!!! One of the all time great bands and albums of all time… 4 stars ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
May 05 2026

Absolutely brilliant - 4 of the brightest stars!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Synchronicity by The Police
May 06 2026

Actively unpleasant to listen to. There is literally no need for this RGP, right towards the bottom of one stars… Tom.

Crazysexycool by TLC
May 07 2026

Among the best of the one star albums so far, but not one I’d listen to again I’m afraid. Tom.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
May 08 2026

Second SY album and still none of their really good ones, do sort it out RPG, 3 stars for “Dirty” but hopefully we have even greater listening pleasures to come. Tom.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
May 09 2026

Love this, the singles, particularly “Thinking of You” are amazing. Top of the two stars. Tom.

Let It Be by The Replacements
May 10 2026

A lovely three stars❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Vivid by Living Colour
May 11 2026

New to me. Not absolutely unlistenable, towards the middle of the one stars. Tom.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
May 12 2026

Really quite unpleasant to listen to. One star. Tom.

Da Capo by Love
May 13 2026

I had not heard this previously and I enjoyed it rather more than “Forever Changes” an LP I like very much - three stars. Tom.

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
May 14 2026

Oh dear…actually this was nowhere near as bad as I’d assumed it would be, still actively unlistenable but miles from the very bottom of the one stars. I even quite liked the shorter songs. Tom.

May 15 2026

Another dreadful album that was no where near as bad as I expected it would be - it is getting crowded among the upper mid table of the one stars. Tom.

May 16 2026

I have never got on with this, nice enough but I prefer Uncle Tupelo. Two stars. Tom.

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
May 17 2026

More Crosby than anyone else from our 126 albums so far, who’d have thought it? This is one of his best too. Four stars!!!!!! Tom.

Rejoicing In The Hands by Devendra Banhart
May 18 2026

I like some of the songs very much, a very solid two stars. Tom.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
May 19 2026

Lovely to finally have a nice bit of Bob on day 128. Three stars for this one and let’s hope there are plenty of the five and four star duplicates to come. Tom.

No Other by Gene Clark
May 20 2026

Another Byrds adjacent offering, do try and mix it up RGP. I mean I like GC, I like The Byrds but this is towards the top of the one stars at best, although “From A Silver Phial” almost put it into the two stars. Tom.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
May 21 2026

New to me and I quite enjoyed it, the good songs like “Fertilizer” were very good. Two stars. Tom.

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
May 22 2026

A touchstone but not a record I’ve ever been able to really love. Two stars. Tom.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
May 23 2026

A lovely 3 stars, thank you RGP the title track opener and the closing “It Ain’t No Fun For Me” remain the highlights, gets a bit wobbly in the middle compared to his really strong LPs. Tom.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
May 24 2026

I’d not heard this previously and it wasn’t for me I’m afraid - one star. Tom

I love Polly H but even I’m surprised that she has had three albums in the first 134 RPG, glad she has though and this is her very very best in my view, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
May 26 2026

New to me, very very good indeed. 4 stars, thank you for sharing RGP. Tom.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
May 27 2026

FFS…Tom. Not the very worst of the LZ albums thus far but very close, I shudder to think how many more there will be to endure. One star.

May 28 2026

Unfeasibly worse even than LZ IV…blimey RGP you’re hitting some one star lows this week… “Lenny Bruce declares a truce…” FFS!!!!!!! Having somehow finally got through the full 90 minutes I can confirm it’s a very weird listening experience as there are slightly more than a few interesting moments, which are considerably outweighed by the incredibly low quality of everything else. I know nothing of Genesis but can only assume Collins used a veto… Tom.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 29 2026

I like this very much, thanks for sharing RGP. Towards the top of the two stars. Tom.

At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash
May 30 2026

Live albums don’t count…plus I’ve never really understood the mythology around this, misogyny, animal cruelty and blame based humour, what’s to love? One star but not among the very worst of the one stars. Tom.

Bitte Orca by Dirty Projectors
May 31 2026

Disappointing, dreary and derivative, one star. Superior to Petty, The Police, RHCP etc but not by that much. Tom.

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Jun 01 2026

5 very bright stars, thank you for sharing RGP, clearly 69 songs is a lot of songs and the quality not to mention the politics dips over the course of 2 hours 52 minutes but the great songs remain great. Sadly and strangely much like Johnny Marr and Camper Van Beethoven, nothing else Steve M has done comes close to his most perfect work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏 Tom.

2112 by Rush
Jun 02 2026

This was unutterably unlistenable. As I am forced to give it a barely deserved one star, it must take a place among the very very worst of the one stars. Tom.

Document by R.E.M.
Jun 03 2026

❤️❤️❤️ - Exhuming McCarthy me up!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 lovely stars. Tom.

Jun 04 2026

Another 3 star BD offering, come on RGP this album is great but give us some of the really good ones… Tom.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Jun 06 2026

I have no words to express my contempt and disinterest in ZZ Top, although having said that the bearded wonders have produced the two biggest surprises of my 1001 listening journey so far. The first was the unexpected lo-fi type quality to the vocals and guitar towards the end of the otherwise unspeakable and misogynistic “Legs” and the other was this LP, which turned out not to be the very very worst of the duplicates we’ve had to endure so far, proving itself to somehow be more listenable than the recent Led Zep one… FFS. One of the all time least deserved stars of all time. Tom.

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Jun 07 2026

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Five of the brightest stars, listening to “Revolution” with my friends in my childhood/teenage house remains one of my most formative and fond musical memories. Tom.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jun 08 2026

Lovely stuff, I could do without the misogyny of “Dumb Girl” but otherwise 4 very excellent stars. Let’s hope there are at least 3 more duplicates to come… Tom.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jun 09 2026

Pretty dreadful but far better than most of the albums we’ve had by artists I’d never heard an album by previously, just about gets in towards the bottom of the two stars. Tom.

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Jun 10 2026

Dear god no…I think this is actually the worst album I have ever heard. Quite how anything manages to be more unpleasant than Iron Maiden, Tears For Fears, Michael Jackson, Petty, ZZ Top, Nine Inch Nails, The Police, Rush, Genesis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Metallica is a mystery and I am always curious about a mystery… Tom.

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Jun 11 2026

92 minutes is a long time but this wasn’t too bad at all, above the middle of the two stars for “The Walker” alone. Tom.

Fun House by The Stooges
Jun 12 2026

The best duplicate yet❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 4 big stars!!!!!!! Tom.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Jun 13 2026

I have no idea how Bowie’s Nazism has no impact on his almost universally accepted status as a national treasure, it can’t be the quality of the songs he wrote up to 1980, even though in the main those songs, including all 11 here, are of a remarkably high quality. Furrowed brow - 5 stars. Tom.

Jun 14 2026

You are are quite a run here RGP… After “Hunky Dory” yesterday it has been two days in a row where you have given us the best LP by an artist, remarkable stuff… If the final four songs here aren’t the four best closing album tracks of all time I don’t know what are. Tom.

Jun 15 2026

A synth pop masterpiece ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Thank you RGP. 4 lovely stars. Tom.

All Directions by The Temptations
Jun 16 2026

New to me and a solid two stars, “Love Woke Me Up This Morning” is a great song. Tom.

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Jun 17 2026

A great album, Sheffield must have been some place to be at the turn of the 70s and early 80s!!!!! Three stars. Tom.

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Jun 18 2026

I have never really got on with TW but this album is more listenable than the others I’ve tried previously - a solid 2 stars. Tom.

Debut by Björk
Jun 19 2026

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This was a great album in 1993 and it’s still remains a great album. The strong songs are super strong, all together now… 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 “It takes courage to enjoy it” 3 very bright stars. Tom.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jun 20 2026

Not an album I’d heard previously and I liked it, two stars. Tom.

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Jun 21 2026

Blimey RGP, I was not expecting this, fantastic album and now hoping for a duplicate too!!!!! 4 lovely stars. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Third by Portishead
Jun 22 2026

New to me and super stuff, towards the top of the 2 stars. Tom.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Jun 23 2026

Not an album I’ve heard previously and not one I’ll be listening to again, but nice enough in parts and two stars for there being at least a couple of songs better than the single, although these may have been released as singles too I suppose, who knows/cares? Tom.

Jun 24 2026

I get pretty fed up with TW pretty quickly TBH, far too pleased with himself, this album just about limps into the bottom of the 2 stars as “Better Off Without A Wife” is a good song, just not one I’ll be listening to again. Tom.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jun 29 2026

One of the all great albums, 5 stars!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Jun 30 2026

Physically unpleasant to listen to. I have no way of knowing whether this is worse than the other DP album we’ve been subjected to so far as to make that judgment I’d actually have to endure both again, something I will never do voluntarily. One star because there is ridiculously no lower mark. Tom.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jul 08 2026

Jul 11 2026

Fantastic album, three of the brightest stars. 😍😍😍 Tom.

Jul 12 2026

Great album, three lovely stars. I still often smile at the memory of the “Heart of Gold” busking moment right at the start of my caring career. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Jul 14 2026

New to me and a fully unlistenable one star. Possibly the record that has sounded most like I feared it would but it is hard to make that judgement with all the records that have sounded about as unpleasant as this one. Tom.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Jul 15 2026

Nice enough, but too drab and unambitious for me, two stars. Tom.

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Jul 16 2026

I must say I thought we’d already had this one…two stars. Tom.

American Pie by Don McLean
Jul 17 2026

Absolutely dreadful, not perhaps quite as universally unpleasant as many of the albums we’ve endured, I might even go as far as to say that “Everybody Loves Me, Baby” is a good tune but still pretty much unlistenable. One star. Tom.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Jul 21 2026

The most solid three stars of the adventure so far, it could quite conceivably turn out to be the most solid three stars of the whole experience. Three stars. Tom.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jul 22 2026

Fair enough LP, nothing that touches “Soul Limbo” though - 2 stars. Tom.

Graceland by Paul Simon

An extremely unpleasant listen, just horrible, one star. Tom.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jul 31 2026

Not their best album, but what an album anyway - 4 stars❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 01 2026

Has this been the most hateful listening experience of my entire life, quite possibly, after all I very much dislike live albums and having now heard them dislike The Allman Brothers Band even more but then again I have also been forced to listen to Paul Simon…decisions decisions… FFS - One star. Tom.

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Aug 02 2026

A cash in album on one half good song, this, even by your own idiosyncratic standards, is a curious choice for inclusion RGP… One star. Tom.

Wild Gift by X

Aug 10 2026

New to me and not terrible at all - thank you for sharing RPG, towards the bottom of the 2 stars. Tom.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Aug 11 2026

A funny one, the album is remarkably weak given the promise of the first two singles, both of which are included here, and their b sides, this was disappointing at the time and disappointing this morning…one star. Tom.

Aug 12 2026

Great work RPG - let’s hope for one of their really really good albums in the future. 3 lovely stars. Tom.

Aug 13 2026

New to me and unconvincing in the main, although I quite liked “Great British Mistake” and the first couple of minutes of “Bombsite Boy”, so just about 2 stars. Tom.

I know I shouldn’t like this but I do, a guilty pleasure…towards the top of the 2 stars for “Can’t Stand Me Know”. Tom.

New to me, pleasant enough but not an album I enjoyed, and one that got less enjoyable the longer it lasted. One star, but in the upper reaches of the one stars. Tom.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Aug 21 2026

❤️❤️❤️❤️ - A four star classic, thank you RGP. Tom.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Aug 22 2026

You are properly joking RGP, this was new to me and a horrible listen, better TBF than Nine Inch Nails say but not by much and that’s a very very low bar to get under. One star. Tom.

Rio by Duran Duran
Aug 23 2026

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, the singles were unlistenable at the time and have if anything somehow become more inexorably excruciating today. The album though was new to me and although dreadful, not uniformly so, ‘The Chauffeur’ being odd enough to be interesting for example. One star, but a higher one star than I expected on pressing play. Tom.
