Too trad/lounge for me I’m afraid - rounders as opposed to cricket as it were. 2/10. Tom.
“I have never found a way of enjoying listening to this album despite often wanting to. I have always thought that “Vege-tables” was a great song though, for which an overall 2 stars”.
Tom.
There is very little that gets my goat as completely as “faux indie” so I was surprised to find that this was quite the best of the one star albums we’ve endured so far. Tom.
I enjoyed this, although I prefer “Singer of Sad Songs” as an album. A solid two stars. Tom.
They would do anything
To materialize their every wish…
4 stars.
I love Scottish Pop, I love Dream Pop, I love Shoegaze, I love 4AD, I love that moment in the late 80’s when indie bands popped their heads above the Radio 1 daytime playlist parapet and I love the Cocteau Twins and from that landscape RGP gives us this…FFS…top of the 2 star albums thus far.
Tom.
Make it stop, FFS…Right down there among the bottom of the one stars. Tom.
Not for me, but top of the current one stars given he sang the lead vocals on “God Only Knows”.
I like this album, a very strange mix of Roddy Frame meeting Rod Stewart with Edwyn on the production decks. “Stay” is a great song - 3 stars.
This is terrible, although TBF unlike most albums this far down in the one stars there are fleeting moments when listenabilty breaks through…Tom.
My 4th favourite OutKast album, love it. Tom.
You have been on absolute fire this weekend RGP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Tom.
I mean like they wrote “Velocity Girl” but this is quite good too. Tom.
Would it were shorter…not the worst of the one stars thus far…Tom.
Lovely stuff, “Primitive” remains a great song, thanks for sharing RGP.
Noodles away a bit after a very strong start with “Cinnamon Girl” but a solid three stars for this.
I only have this on CD, what a CD though, soaring among the 4 stars!!!!!!
Tom.
I quite like “Rolling In The Deep” but this is unlistenable, albeit more listenable than the Zep and the other albums unfeasibly below 25 in the one stars. Tom.
Among my top 10 all time favourite albums of all time, thank you for sharing Random Generator Person❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this, right towards the top of the three stars. Tom.
Good album, great title, excellent band, the celebratory sing-a-long misogyny is horrible. Three stars. Tom.
Not terrible, but pretty close - towards the bottom of the two stars. Tom.
New to me and I enjoyed this very much, especially “Either Way I Lose”, thank you for sharing RGP…Tom.
Love this, their last good record really. Tom.
One of the all time greats, thank you RPG!!!!!
This is beyond unlistenable, unfathomably worse than even Bat Out of Hell and the Zep…FFS!!!!! Tom.
Right in the middle of the mid table of the two stars. Tom.
New to me, I enjoyed it, especially the opening songs, tailed off towards the end. Two stars. Tom.
OMG, they signed to a major, when did that happen?
Tom.
Are you properly joking me?
Worse than I. Maiden.
Tom.
We’re in a one star doom loop. Tom.
Good album, three stars. Thank you RGP. Tom.
Loved this, which was new to me. Thanks for sharing RGP. Three stars. Tom.
A singles band, but two stars for the couple of good ones on here. Tom.
A treat, thank you RGP…Right up there towards the top of the three stars. Tom.
Uneven overall, the good songs are very good. Three stars. Tom.
Absolutely incredible, “Breathless” is often in or around the top 10 of my “All Time Favourite Songs of All Time” list.
Some great tunes on here, not least the title track but I could do without the milky cereal misogyny - two stars.
Great album, love “My Best Friend” particularly - on the “Didn’t Make The Long List of My All Time Favourite Albums of All Time” list, so a solid three stars.
FFS. I can’t believe there is something worse than Tears For Fears, physically unpleasant to listen to.
“When Love Breaks Down” worth three stars on it’s own…⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ummmm…a tricky one, for the first 20 seconds or so of most of the songs I feel that perhaps I shouldn’t disparage it as much as I do then the cod philosophy kicks in alongside the saccharine melody, reminding me why it sits so firmly among the one stars, albeit superior to Deep Purple. Tom.
I know I should like this and I’ve tried hard quite a few times over the years including this morning to find a way to do so, but I just don’t I’m afraid.
In no way terrible just doesn’t grab me. 2 stars. Tom.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - “We owe you nothing, you have no control”…Three stars. Tom.
I hadn’t listened to this in a while, and it was more disappointing than I recalled, all a bit sub Beta Band/Gomez, “A Minha Menina” remains a great tune though. Solid two stars.
One of the all time great Hertfordshire albums❤️❤️❤️, perhaps the only one? Three stars.
Great album, feels like there might be quite a lot more Prince to come…3 lovely stars…
I had no preconceptions of this at all, absolutely not terrible but pretty bad, “War In Peace” bears another listen, if only for the proto sampling - towards the top of the one stars. Tom.
I like “Pumping On Your Stereo” and “Caught By The Fuzz” but this album is dreadful. Tom.
FFS…will there be more AC/DC too?
Higher among the one stars than “25” due to “Rolling In The Deep”.
Tom.
Is every day going to be a duplicate from now on…great album though, 3 stars!!!!!!
Not for me I’m afraid, scrapes into the bottom of the 2 stars on the strength of the title track. Tom.
Seriously? That was my first thought, followed by honestly RGP what are you playing at now…but actually having now listened this was not as abjectly terrible as I’d assumed it would be, towards the bottom end of the 2 stars but 2 stars nonetheless.
Err…55 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back, utterly without merit.
Ohhhh nice, not quite as close to 5 stars as I remembered but 4 stars nonetheless. Tom.
I assumed this would get 5 stars but in the end was surprised and saddened to only give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - the excellent songs remain excellent but the weaker ones weaker than I recall. Tom.
The ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s just keep on coming, great stuff RGP. Tom.
4 four stars in a row❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️RGP you are really spoiling us…Tom.
5 brilliant albums in a row RGP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - will we ever see this many ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s again?
Oooohhhhh dear…dreadful stuff if easily the best of the metal albums so far, one star.
Good enough album, too long maybe? Two stars.
“See The Sky About To Rain” - what a tune, thank you RGP. Worth 3 stars by itself…
A quality three stars…thank you RGP❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh dear, obviously I’m conflicted given my feelings about WFC but do me a favour RGP this is absolutely dreadful…Tom.
Nice enough, 2 stars.
Let’s hope there are some Beck duplicates to come, honestly RGP what are you playing at giving us this from his back catalogue?
Tom.
Why RGP do you unfailingly provide us with the least satisfying work of the artists featured, still plenty of time for duplicates I suppose but do come on now. I can’t in good conscience give this a one but right down among the bottom of the 2 stars…Tom.
One can only hope there are more White Stripes albums to come, what this one is doing on this list is anyone’s guess…2 stars. Tom.
Not terrible, weirdly the 4th two star album in a row all by bands who have much better work in their back catalogue. Tom.
Unfeasibly even less listenable than CSN, not to mention Elton John, Cat Stevens and Deep Purple - towards the rock bottom of the one stars albeit that “Colorado” keeps it above AC/DC, Alanis, Tears For Fears et al…
For the love of god…FFS.
Is this slightly worse or slightly better than Petty? I can’t really judge, or moreover care as it is so so horrible to listen to.
Tom.
I thought this was quite good, ridiculously derivative but listenable enough although I wasn’t that disappointed when it ended as it were.
Towards the bottom of the two stars but two stars nonetheless not least for “Life’s A Beach”.
Tom.
I went with this in 1995, hard not to in those days given DG’s immediate past, but I don’t go with it now, a horrifying re-listen scraping into the two stars. Tom.
A duplicate day but a great one…Four stars!!!!!!!
I literally have no words to describe how unlistenable this is, using creative language in response to music as tedious as it is misogynistic would be an insult to creative language. Tom.
Not their best work but an all round lovely three stars…”C.T.A. - 102” is a great song.
I love Björk, but wouldn’t often choose this LP when choosing something to listen to from her back catalogue. Two stars. Tom.
4th best album we’ve heard so far, only the third best album by The Clash - bonz❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Five stars.
Tom.
The misogyny makes this a more difficult listen these days but it is a great record.
Four stars.
Tom.
New to me, beyond uninspiring but not quite dreadful enough for one star.
Tom.
I think I probably have a copy of this but I couldn’t remember what it sounded like and having listened I didn’t like it, one star. Tom.
Ouch, a far too pleased with itself duplicate alert…a riot of one star tediousness, where oh where is Piper at The Gates of Dawn or Syd’s solo stuff RGP? Tom.
Blimey, Michael Head, whatever next RGP…not the best thing in his back catalogue, which touches on remarkable quality at times, but a very solid two stars. Tom.
I remember now being surprised by how much I liked Side 1…Two stars. Tom.
Love this, three stars, altogether now 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 “I went to school…”
Tom.
I didn’t enjoy this very much at all I’m afraid, although “It Makes No Difference Now” is a good song - not the worst of the one stars but quite a way from the top of that category. Potentially the most incongruous album title of all time too…Tom
I had not heard this previously and happy to say it exceeded my expectations by proving to be not quite the very worst among the unlistenable albums we have been subjected to so far - one star. Tom.
A birthday treat - thank you RGP!!!!!!
One of the all time great bands and albums of all time…
4 stars ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tom
Absolutely brilliant - 4 of the brightest stars!!!!!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tom.
Actively unpleasant to listen to.
There is literally no need for this RGP, right towards the bottom of one stars…
Tom.
Among the best of the one star albums so far, but not one I’d listen to again I’m afraid.
Tom.
Second SY album and still none of their really good ones, do sort it out RPG, 3 stars for “Dirty” but hopefully we have even greater listening pleasures to come.
Tom.
Love this, the singles, particularly “Thinking of You” are amazing. Top of the two stars.
Tom.
A lovely three stars❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tom.
New to me. Not absolutely unlistenable, towards the middle of the one stars.
Tom.
Really quite unpleasant to listen to. One star.
Tom.
I had not heard this previously and I enjoyed it rather more than “Forever Changes” an LP I like very much - three stars. Tom.
Oh dear…actually this was nowhere near as bad as I’d assumed it would be, still actively unlistenable but miles from the very bottom of the one stars. I even quite liked the shorter songs.
Tom.
Another dreadful album that was no where near as bad as I expected it would be - it is getting crowded among the upper mid table of the one stars.
Tom.
