Teen Dream by Beach House
Jan 29 2026

My only previous knowledge of this band was that Elegy to the void song that James put on a playlist so I was excited to try this. Sadly nothing on this album as good as that song. 10 Mile Stereo was my favourite

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Jun 01 2026

New to me. There are some brilliant tracks in here (No One Will Ever Love You was a delight). But why is it so long…. Just slightly too much filler, this is a strong 4 stars if it reduced the number of songs.

Fun House by The Stooges
Jun 12 2026

Great album

Jun 16 2026

This was wind wonderful

It’s a (very) low bar, but I think I slightly preferred Machine Head…

Jul 20 2026

This is very bland, nothing stand out. Nothing grabs you

Jul 21 2026

This just gets into a 2 star for me but it’s not one I would go back to

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Jul 22 2026

Sometimes at the seaside or at Christmas markets you have a Wurlitzer organ blasting out irritating noise and you can buy a CD and I always think who would listen to that at home…. This is that, although the title track is an elevated version.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Jul 23 2026

Scrapes a 2

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Jul 24 2026

If I was doing a 90s Brit pop / indie playlist, then ‘History ’ would just make it on I think…. Quite enjoyed revisiting this although it ‘a probably 2.5

Jul 27 2026

‘Once I Was’ is such a great song, lovely album

Aug 01 2026

Eurgh, why is each song SO long…

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Aug 02 2026

Well. ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ is the song I hate most in this world. I can not stand it, really winds me up, so my heart sank when this came on. There were actually some much better and interesting bits on the album which means this doesn’t go straight to the bottom of my list, but it’s close. 1 star.

Wild Gift by X
Aug 03 2026

It’s not quite a 1 star but it’s close to…

Aug 20 2026

This is like a slightly better version of the Alanis Morrisette album we had to listen to. Slightly.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Aug 22 2026

It’s not at the bottom of the 1 stars and it’s an ok listen but not something I would listen to

This could be considered a guilty pleasure if I felt guilty about it…. It’s still not great but it’s more than a 1 star for me

Trio by Dolly Parton
Aug 27 2026

I was quite looking forward to this having not heard it before but I found it rather dull
