I didn’t really enjoy this initially but think it got better towards the end of the album. Not heard it before.
Beautiful
My first 0.5 of the year
This was a bit of a struggle. Not for me
I wanted to like this, but couldn’t get into it. One where the story behind the album is more interesting that the album it self
My only previous knowledge of this band was that Elegy to the void song that James put on a playlist so I was excited to try this. Sadly nothing on this album as good as that song. 10 Mile Stereo was my favourite
Such a good listen
I have not listened to this before, there were a couple that I quite liked. The last 2 songs seemed to go on forever….
This was a lovely listen on my Sunday run
After Hours ❤️
This was a struggle….
Title track is quite nice
Never heard before, quite liked it
No
Well this was a bit of a treat to someone who had not heard it before. 3.5 for me
Brilliant from start to finish
Really enjoyed this, couple of tracks I had not heard before have gone straight onto my favourites playlist
Ah. Glastonbury 97.(instead of the seminal Radiohead performance) Front of the dance tent. Mani coming out and straight into Burning Wheel… I can’t not give this a 5
Quote enjoyed this on an early morning walk through a drizzly London
Great, Bloodsport is on the running playlist!
Me and Lilia very much enjoyed blasting out ‘In ‘N’ Out of Grace’ in the car on a Sunday morning
This is very nice although some of the guitar solo’s go on a bit. Not an album I am likely to listen to often but pleasant enough.
Straight to the top of the list. Sublime
Most of this is annoying but secretly there are a couple of tracks I actually quite like….
Glorious. Listened in an indoor trampoline park at half term. Thank you noise cancelling headphones….
Background music while pottering around the kitchen. It’s obviously very good but it is not something I am likely to listen to often. 1.5 for me.
A nice album completely ruined by one song
Decent Sunday album. It faded towards the end though… 2.5
Lovely stuff
Enjoyed this, although it’s odd… I can see for miles is great
Well this is right up there ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The drumming is very good.
I’ve always quite liked Substitute for Love and Frozen… Never listened to the whole album before and unlikely to again but was a pleasant listen. 2.5 for me, bang in the middle.
Enjoyed this and you can see how it has influenced modern bands (Dry Cleaning)
This is quite odd…. Some tracks far too long and take themselves too seriously, a move into live recordings? It’s not great but I quite like some of it…
Background music….
Not heard before, decent
2nd time ive listened to this album this year and its just not for me
I have never really liked this album, couple of tracks are ok
Enjoyed this, different to other beach boy albums
I actually liked this more than I expected too…
Super stuff
This was great to listen to in one. Some real stand out tracks. Great album.
Some albums I think will be a 2 or 3 before I listen and then I listen and find myself enjoying it more than I thought. This is one of those albums.
The ‘2 songs’ are brilliant and the rest does not quite reach those heights but pleasant enough. Those songs drag the rating up though….
Bits of this I enjoyed but the longer it went on the less keen I was on it.
Bit of a family favourite (or maybe compromise) Sentimental pop but I like it. Makes me want to watch Rushmore again…
I dont listen to Nick Drake often but when I do I always enjoy
This was great
New to me and interesting sound. I liked it but it never really got going for me. Liked Sunshine. Would listen again
Nice enough, I thought I would enjoy it more though. It’s between a 2 and a 3 for me
Not as good as purple rain
Odd album but Grey/Afro was a great piece of music
Of this era , I really like this and much prefer this album to their debut album too
Rolling in the Deep is quite good but overall this is quite annoying and I slightly preferred 25
2nd listen to this album this year. I just can’t get into it, although I think overall I prefer this album to ‘Be’
New to me and I wasn’t really looking forward to it but it surprised me. Much more interesting than I expected. 2.5 stars. Liked Butter the Soul!
Street Life is alright….
It’s not the worst album I have heard this year… and I think he has some good songs, but not on this
We like a bit of Dolly Parton in our house. Couple of good ones on here. 2.5
Really enjoyed this
There are about 30 seconds to a minute of each song I like, often towards the end. But the songs are too long. 1.5
Not listened for a while and thought it may be a 4 but it’s a 5 all day long. So good.
Listen to lots of these songs in isolation on various playlists but really good to revisit the whole album. Loved it.
Best album of the year so far
Not listened to for a long time and was great to revisit
Towards the top of the 3s. Really enjoyed this
Apologies to any death metal fans but this really does all sound the same…. Was a chore to get through….
It’s not for me but I do quite like his voice/rhythm… some of it is great and some of it is unlistenable
I’ve never listened to this before and I enjoyed it a lot
New to me and something I will listen to again. Swinging Detective and Man with the Golden Arm were initial highlights. It’s a high 2 / 3
I’m sorry everyone but I like Tiny Dancer. The rest, not so much.
Not heard this before, quite liked the downbeat nature of it
Quite Poppy, sounded like R.E.M in parts. Quite liked Northern Star
This was a 1 or a 2 but maybe just edged a 2 but it’s not one I’m likely to listen to again
This started well and was quite enjoyable, but then I felt lost its way a bit and got a bit boring
I enjoyed this so much more than the CS&N album we had. So Begins The Task is a lovely song
Dreadful
Mildly interesting with some electronic / psychedelic bits. Not really for me though
There are worse 1 stars but it’s just not for me
It’s a high 3
Straight to the bottom of the pile
Lovely
Not heard this before but really liked it. A high 3
My favourite PF album. It’s still probably a 2 but I quite enjoyed my listen yesterday
Track 1 is a belter, then it’s just ok
Really enjoyed this, prefer this album to celebrity skin
A long hour…. Its just above ZZ top…
I used to listen to this a bit and have a bit of a soft spot for it, I haven’t listened for a long time so good to revisit but not something I’m likely to listen to often
This is a high 3 for me with Heart of Glass being a particular household favourite
Not for me although a couple of tracks are ok
Quite enjoyed listening in the train but not one im likely to revisit. The singles are the best tracks.
Solid
Love this
I found this quite dull
Bit of a struggle but quite enjoyed some of the more disco / funk bits
Pleasant enough but not something I would listen to
This was not as bad as I feared it would be… still not really for me but didn’t mind it
Quite enjoyed this which was new to me
Started strongly, faded a little
Didn’t hate it, but none of the tracks really stood out and not something I would go back to
The best ones the cover song
Nestled nicely between Grateful Dead and ZZ Top…
This is a great album, one I used yo listen to a lot but not heard for a while
This was a tough listen
Quite liked this. Solid
I had never heard of this, and I really didn’t like it as it started, it got mildly interesting towards the middle (bit depeche mode). Overall not great though
New to me. There are some brilliant tracks in here (No One Will Ever Love You was a delight). But why is it so long…. Just slightly too much filler, this is a strong 4 stars if it reduced the number of songs.
How much Prog Rock must I listen to…. Why is there a 20 minute opener…
This is a strong 3, nearly a 4.
Lovely
New to me, enjoyed and will listen again. Marble Arch was lovely
Simultaneously terrible and 10 times better than the last ZZ Top album we had
Second listen this year and it’s a belter.
Brilliant. I love ‘Is It live’’ but it’s just very good from start to finish
Second listen to this this year and I slightly preferred it this time around but overall just thought it was a little dull
Just very very boring
The word that kept coming to mind listening to this was ‘safe’. Some nice musical bits but I found the vocals annoying. The French half was the better half.
Great album
I always enjoy listening to R..E.M but I would t know what the best album was. This is the 3rd album I have listened to so far this year and this may edge it
I just don’t get this at all. Not for me
This was wind wonderful
I was not sure of this at the start but as it got going I got drawn in and the second half was much stronger than the first. Loved ‘Gun Street Girl’. 2.5
Been a long time since last listened to this but was great to revisit
Couple of really strong tracks
I found this interesting without totally loving it… maybe meds a couple of listens?
Not the worst 1 star but it’s not great
Some of this is good fun, but not the best TW I have heard so far, 1 or 2 tracks I would go back to
Now forever linked with Pixar. Nice enough though
Not pleasant
It’s not cool at all I know but I
don’t mind this
