I skipped the live bits because I'm not a huge fan of live recordings. But other than that a great album. Love Janis Joplin, so this is a great listen. With maybe an exception of only few songs from this album that are just -too country- for my personal taste.

I'm not big into country music and I'm well aware of that. But going through this challenge of listening of all these albums has definitely opened me up to this genre.
Loretta's singing is beautiful, has mildly repetitive lyrics (I assume this is due to the era). I can appreciate it for what it is, but being said probably wouldn't listen again.

I’m really torn with this album. The vocals absolutely suck. I don’t know what it is about the vocalist’a voice but I just can’t stand it. I think if the delivery was different I would like it more, because I love psychedelic rock in general and this is slightly reminiscent of those classics from the 60s, but at the same time more modern.
I’m enjoying the bits where there’s just instruments playing. The vocals are really not it.

Certainly not anything like I’ve heard before. I wasn’t very convinced at the beginning but it grew on me. Obviously it’s very avant hard but very considered. The discordance flows very well at certain moments and at others is extremely jarring. Definitely an experience that somehow made my train journey less dull.

Krautrock... this album starts off with a vaguely boring long track that feels like it might get interesting any moment now, but just doesn’t get there. My first thought was this was just some early electronica until I read the blurb.
A lot of the songs start well imo but devolve into discordant notes and chaos (but not in a cool way). Still by the end of it I'm curious about if maybe there's bands that do it better? or maybe I just start skipping songs when they get messy...

There's enough interesting musical arrangements in the background to keep me from skipping the songs. I don’t like Kanye West or hip hop, but this album is good. Production wise honestly brilliant, the rapping is super mediocre in my opinion. I didn’t like when he was actually doing any of the ‘singing’ I liked when there were guests and whatnot. Some great songs sampled too
That being said that much of KW was way too much. By the second half of the album I was just waiting for it to be over

What a freaking ride this album was? I had no idea that it was gonna be so interesting when it started. Parts of it just hip hop. Parts of it experimental, anxiety inducing, some edm thrown in the mix? Some really interesting samples too. Wild ride. And I don’t really like rapping but proper enjoyed some of the slower songs on this
