Such a prolific album. It has such range. Heavy stuff, soft melodic stuff. Timeless songs like Tonight, Tonight. Run time is at 2 hours so it’s a long journey.

She Talks to Angels
6/10
The rest are still bangers. Great album front to back. Pure rock and roll!
I’ve listened to She Talks to Angels a handful of times today. It’s a beautiful song.
Isaac Hayes
3/5
Always a fan of some good soul music. With this album only having 4 songs and 3 of them extended, I can’t really peg a particular favorite/liked song. Overall liked the groove. Some of the songs went on too long though.
The Strokes
3/5
I respect this album. It’s just too “noisy” for me. However, I commend the shift in rock music that happened as a result of this album and appreciate that which came after it.
Enjoy the opener Is This It and Last Nite but nothing else really stands out to me.
Santana
3/5
Nice mix of music with vocals and instrumentals. Enjoyed the variety of genres here. This is a good background listening album.
Eminem
4/5
This was in frequent rotation in my early years. Eminem changed the hip hop game for me.
Radiohead
3/5
I’m in the “Radiohead is overrated” camp. This is something I can listen to in the background but didn’t grow any attachment to it.
Tom Waits
3/5
Hang Down Your Head
Time
Gun Street Girl
Downtown Train
4/19
Only liking 4 of the 19 tracks may be unfair. I cannot say I’ve actually actively listened to Tom Waits before today. I knew he existed but couldn’t name anything by him.
Listening to this makes me want to explore his music more. It’s weird and quirky.
I’ll give this 3 stars but it’s more like 3.5.
Massive Attack
3/5
Good to listen to. It would be a background album.
David Bowie
4/5
David Bowie does soul.
This has to be a full album experience.
Definitely has some good grooves on this.
The Monks
2/5
Interesting album.
It’s loud and abrasive for 1966.
Appreciate its significance in musical history.
It’s not for my ears though. Probably would not revisit.
Red Snapper
3/5
More electronic music on this journey. I could easily pair this with Massive Attack’s album. There’s some slight differences within the genre. Regardless, another decent background album.
Franz Ferdinand
4/5
A nice byproduct of the Strokes and the garage rock movement of the early 2000s. This one pleases my ears a lot more than Is This It does.
George Harrison
5/5
Great album. A little something of everything. I didn’t need Apple Jam T the end but it was still good. This deserves repeat listening.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
4/5
Very enjoyable jazz album.
I was always a big fan of the Peanuts soundtrack so this reminds me of it.
Definitely will explore more of this group.

Really liked the sound of this group. Definitely fits in the garage band revival era of early 2000s however has more hints of psychedelic sounds of the 60s. Will explore more.

Solid 80s country album. Listened to it passively in one sitting.
Brian Wilson

Great album. Such an interesting story to how it was made.

Great heartland rock. Bruce can sing me stories any time.
Gene Clark
3/5
Perfectly fine singer-songwriter album
The Icarus Line
3/5
A product of the early 2000s garage rock movement. I appreciate for what it is. There’s some songs that are rough on the ears for me. This was going to be a 2 star after the first couple of tracks but then there would be something to pull me back in.
M.I.A.
3/5
Like the sound. Some of it is a little repetitive
Harry Nilsson
4/5
Fantastic album. Definitely feel some Beatles vibes here. Definitely a precursor to the 70s soft era.
Muddy Waters
3/5
Another that I’ll appreciate for what it is. Blue isn’t my go to.
My Bloody Valentine
3/5
It’s fine. It’s definitely a vibe.
Sufjan Stevens
4/5
What a quirky album. Definitely going to need some relistens.

Fats Domino

Classic
The Beach Boys

Ray Price
4/5
This was pretty awesome. Loved the intro.

I enjoyed this. Good vocals. Good alt sound.
Steely Dan

5/5
Loving this! The Waterboys are a new discovery for me. Definitely a discography I want to continue to explore.
Fairport Convention
4/5
Folky psych. I dig it man.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
Other than the crossover hits, haven’t listened to much Marley. Enjoy the vibe. Best thing about this project is doing a bit of research on the artist. Love that he gave writing credits to family and friends in order to take care of them.
The Smashing Pumpkins
5/5
Such a prolific album. It has such range. Heavy stuff, soft melodic stuff. Timeless songs like Tonight, Tonight. Run time is at 2 hours so it’s a long journey.
The United States Of America

This was all over the place. But that’s what you get with psych folk.
The Smiths
5/5
Love this. I remember when I first listened to it. I wondered why I hadn’t listened to the Smiths sooner.
Adele
4/5
Great pop vocal album.
Nitin Sawhney
4/5
Some beautiful sounds here. Love the theming. There’s a couple of weird tracks but overall liked it.
Weather Report
4/5
Good jazz fusion album. It’s quick. Sometimes feels like it’s Weather Channel. However, I’m always looking for ways to branch out into the jazz style.
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
4/5
Significant early rock. Very easy to listen to.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
Adding in the acoustics. Good album. Not my favorite Zep but has one of the all time rockers, Immigrant Song.
Blood, Sweat & Tears
4/5
Great groovy rock. Enjoyed the live tracks on the expanded too.
Goldfrapp
3/5
Didn’t hate this. It was a good mellow album to put on throughout the day.
Massive Attack
3/5
Electronic isn’t my go to genre. Again, I can appreciate it for what it is, but probably won’t revisit.
Foo Fighters
4/5
Good album. Especially as the genesis of what was to come. The vinyl was surprisingly a little flat. The singles are very catchy. This isn’t my go to Foo though.
Radiohead
4/5
I think I enjoyed this more than Hail to the Thief. Radiohead is a blind spot. Trying to decide if I like them.
LCD Soundsystem
4/5
Enjoyed it. Interesting to go from Kid A to this. This is the type of electronic rock blend I can get into.
Ray Charles
4/5
Ray Charles is another blind spot. Enjoyed the idea of side 1 being upbeat jazzy numbers and side 2 being the softer ballad side.
Skepta
3/5
It’s one and done for me. I do like British rap though.
Caetano Veloso
3/5
Good listen. I liked the mix of styles throughout.
The Smashing Pumpkins

As much as I enjoyed Melon Collie, I think I enjoyed this more.
Billie Holiday
4/5
Great vocals from a legend.
The Modern Lovers
3/5
Good music. Vocals grated on me a bit.
Big Black
2/5
Appreciate the art. Too noisy for me.
Frank Sinatra
4/5
‘Ol Blue Eyes was a treat to listen to. Just enjoy the vibe.
Lucinda Williams
4/5
This was a surprise like. Really enjoyed the Americana country rock vibes.
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Probably should give it another listen. I’ve tried to get into the Stones but they’re really just a greatest hits band for me.
Pearl Jam
5/5
Flawless album. 10 stars. My appreciation for it has grown with separation. The singles get overplayed on 90s rock stations and playlists. However, they’re awesome. Black may be the greatest Pearl Jam song.
Dolly Parton
4/5
Title track is such a great song. Definitely some other standouts. Enjoyed Traveling Man, Here I Am, and Early Morning Breeze. I will admit I cannot listen to Dolly for too long before the voice gets on my nerves a bit 😬
Beach House
4/5
Definitely enjoyed this dream pop album. Would love to keep digging into their catalogue.
Various Artists
4/5
Great Christmas album. Classic songs front to back.
Moby
5/5
One of my favorites. Electronic isn’t my go to but I bought this shortly after it came out. Listened to it many times. With 18 tracks, there are a couple that are just fine. However, there are many that are beautiful.
Merle Haggard
3/5
Solid old country. It all kind of sounds the same to me. However, it’s a warm sound.
Roni Size
2/5
Drum and bass electronic album. There are some good beats and moments here. However, I was ready for it to end.
The Flaming Lips
4/5
Super neat album. Definitely deserves multiple listens.
Rahul Dev Burman
3/5
This was actually pretty fun. Couldn’t listen to this style all day.
The Notorious B.I.G.
3/5
I recognize game. Not always my vibe but I dug it.
Manic Street Preachers
4/5
Another band that I’ve heard of but never explored. This was good. Deserves more spins.
Nirvana
5/5
Elite album. Listened on vinyl.
John Martyn
3/5
Enjoyed it. Liked some of the prog-y stuff.
Tom Waits
4/5
What a unique album. Loved the jazz club “live” feel. Along with the banter. It’s a long album. Lot of depth to his storytelling. Not sure I could listen to it often but it’s definitely something that could be a “warm blanket” every once in a while.
Violent Femmes
4/5
Great energy and angst. Blister is a classic banger.
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Third Stones album on this journey. My favorite so far. Love Brown Sugar, Wild Horses, and Knockin’. The rest are solid too.
Dion
3/5
Decent album. I enjoyed the couple listens I gave it. Wasn’t a fan of He’s Got the Whole World. That sound was a bit off. Spector gets a lot of criticism for his production and I could hear it on a few of these.
Neil Young
5/5
Classic album. Love this era of Neil.
The Allman Brothers Band
3/5
Strong instrumental work. However, I find that the bluesier stuff isn’t always my jam. Appreciate this for what it is.
Johnny Cash
5/5
Such a great album. So much emotion. Thank you Rick Rubin. Without this album, I would not have grown to appreciate Johnny Cash.
KISS
5/5
Classic album. Definitive Kiss. So many bangers. Kiss is definitely popcorn rock but this is it at its best.
Stevie Wonder
4/5
Enjoyable listen. Maybe Your Baby got a little redundant on my second listen. It put me in a good mood listening to it though.
Iron Maiden
4/5
Such a solid, raw metal album. Makes me wonder what Iron Maiden would’ve been like if Paul stuck around.
The The
3/5
Wild album. Wouldn’t be by typically choice to listen to. However, I wonder if I would have explored this if I was born 10 years earlier. I really enjoyed the sound and layers. Very 80s.
Depeche Mode
4/5
Solid album. Great 80s sound. Little more commercial and polished compared to yesterdays The The.
The Doors
4/5
The Doors are an interesting blind spot for me. Aware of the “hits” but haven’t dove deep. I enjoyed this album. Probably need to do a deep intentional listen to their catalog.
Slint
3/5
Pretty good. Interesting vibes. Actually reminds me of some Midwest emo. Wonder how much they influenced.
Slipknot
3/5
Nice, heavy rage album. Listened on vinyl. I have to be in a very certain mood for this.
The Smiths
4/5
2nd Smiths so far. Not as good as Queen but still very enjoyable. I did feel bad eating my burger after listening to it…
Dr. John
4/5
This is a lot of fun. I dig the New Orleans psychedelic vibes. It continues to amaze me what music is out there that I haven't even explored. After a deeper dive on Spotify, I recognize Right Place, Wrong Time from a later album. And of course the Curious George theme song :)
Nick Drake
3/5
Good chill folk music. I may have been a bit underwhelmed by it though.
Scissor Sisters
4/5
Fun album. Have you ever wondered what if Comfortably Numb sounded like the Bee Gees wrote it? It's here. Very upbeat. Love the closing.
T. Rex
5/5
Outside of Bang a Gong, I haven’t been familiar with T. Rex. Wow. Great album. Definitely something to revisit.
Fun Lovin' Criminals
3/5
This was fine. Got better as I listened to it longer. Not my usual vibe. Probably wouldn’t revisit.
The Fall
3/5
Post punk. Noisy. It was fine.
Elliott Smith
5/5
I’ve had such a blindspot for Elliott Smith. First album I’ve actually listened to. It’s great.
The Verve
4/5
Good britpop. This has much more to offer than just Bittersweet.
David Bowie
2/5
I know I'm probably in the minority but I've just never been able to jive with this album. It's a tad too chaotic for me.
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
I enjoyed it. Costello is another blindspot for me. Several songs here. Good sound.
Beatles
5/5
The Beatles may be the greatest band in the history of bands.
Maxwell
3/5
Good soulful R&B. Liked
The Jazz elements.
Black Sabbath
5/5
Can’t deny the run Sabbath went on with their albums. The sound continued to evolve with each one.
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
4/5
Another enjoyable EC album. 4 days apart from the last one. I liked this one more. Had a couple of the more well known songs like Pump It Up and Radio Radio.
The Byrds
3/5
Enjoyable album. Outside of Turn Turn Turn and Mr Tambourine Man, I'm not too familiar with their back catalog. This definitely utilized stereo production as drums were on one side and guitars on the other.
The Kinks
4/5
Really enjoyed this. The Kinks are a band I need to explore further. Liked it more than Preservation, which I had early on.
Everything But The Girl
2/5
This was kind of a slog to get through. Not horrible. Vocals were fine. Music was fine. Just boring.
Kanye West
4/5
I really hate that we’ve had to cancel Kanye. This is a great album.
G. Love & Special Sauce
4/5
Enjoyed the grooves. Very chill album.
The Louvin Brothers
3/5
Good classic country. Pretty much sounds the same to me song to song. Good for when you are in the mood for this.
Joan Armatrading
3/5
Enjoyed it. Artist that I’ve never heard of.
Korn
4/5
A throwback for sure. I was a nu-metal kid back in late middle and early high school. This was one of my favorite albums of the era. It's always interesting to revisit it. There's a few songs that didn't age well; however, there's quite a few bangers here as well. It's not for everyone, but strangely enough, it's a comfort album for me.
Nico
1/5
So far, this isn't my vibe. Music is ok; however, Nico's vocals are sparking joy within me.
The Jam
3/5
Solid album. Good bridge between British Invasion sound and punk. Got Clash vibes from it.
Prince
4/5
Great album. My only critique is that it’s a bit long in the tooth. However, every song has some great grooves.
Pink Floyd
5/5
Automatic 5 stars. One of my favorites of all time. Over the years, I’ve grown to appreciate Machine and Cigar. Shine On and WYWH have always been top tier for me.
Meat Puppets
3/5
Enjoyable. I liked the tracks that Nirvana covered during unplugged.
Joni Mitchell
5/5
So good. Love her honesty in her lyrics.
Alice In Chains
4/5
So many great tracks here. At nearly an hour, it does bog down toward the end. Angry Chair and Would close it out strong. I would shave a couple of songs off in order to have 5 stars.
The Jesus And Mary Chain
3/5
Beck
3/5
I haven't given Beck much of a chance. I enjoyed the front half of the album. It had some of the songs I was familiar with. He can be a bit too eclectic for my taste.
Tears For Fears
4/5
Solid album. Quintessential 80s sound.
The Boo Radleys
4/5
After glancing at the reviews, I was a little worried. However, I was actually impressed by the album. Maybe it was the chill Saturday morning mood I was in. This is the kind of eclectic that I like. Definitely had some indie, psych, and Beatles vibes.
Arrested Development
4/5
My favorite style of hip hop. Enjoyed the positivity on this album!
Simon & Garfunkel
4/5
Perfectly good album. I enjoy the harmonies and the acoustic vibes from it. The Boxer is my favorite track.
Paul Simon
4/5
Man, back to back Paul Simon (minus Garfunkel today). I really enjoyed it. Simon has quite a way with lyrics. I also enjoy his cadence in the delivery. Aside from a handful of hits, I’m not very familiar with his solo work. If I have time today, this will get a second spin. The acoustic demos on the expanded edition are also very good.
Buzzcocks
4/5
Really enjoyed this punk sound. Well produced and fun.
Nirvana
5/5
What more can be said? Great album!
Wu-Tang Clan
4/5
Not my typical hip hop but it’s hard to deny how good this is.
The Incredible String Band
2/5
Honestly, it started off strong. The first track had me thinking I'd enjoy this. It only got worse. Gets a 2 because some elements were ok.
The Rolling Stones
4/5
So far, my favorite Rolling Stones album. So many solid tracks here compared to the other albums that have popped up.
Kendrick Lamar
4/5
A classic even for this non-hip hop fan. The music and rhythms are unmatched.
Adele
4/5
I enjoy her music when I encounter it. It’s not necessarily something I seek out but it is definitely well produced.
David Bowie
3/5
This is a much more accessible album than Blackstar was for me. Definitely worth further exploration for me.
The Flying Burrito Brothers
2/5
Eh. It's fine. Feels like the same song throughout.
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Classic album. The start of something great!
Rufus Wainwright
4/5
Such a solid album. Loved the vocals with classical backing. Deserves repeated listens.
Talking Heads
3/5
I like the serious songs like Take Me to the River. Some of the other stuff is a little too frantic.
LCD Soundsystem
2/5
Not my cup of tea. I was surprised because I vibed with American Dream. Too dance heavy.
Nine Inch Nails
5/5
One of the best. Great mix of aggression and softness.
Pink Floyd
3/5
When I say I love Pink Floyd, I don’t mean this era. There are some gems here and it’s probably better than a majority of the psych of the time.
3/5
Decent 80s new wave punk. Liked the dual vocals.
David Bowie
4/5
Really enjoyed it. Best Bowie I’ve had thus far. Definitely need to explore the 60s and 70s catalog.
Elvis Presley
4/5
Enjoyed it. Very polished sound from on the greats.
Primal Scream
3/5
Some good stuff here. Again, not into house as much as others. I liked some of the chill and melodic tracks. Even some longer tracks built up to something. Probably won’t go back to it though.
The Black Keys
4/5
Solid album. Loved the fuzzy guitars and vocals on the tracks. The slow bluesy stuff was good too.
Fiona Apple
4/5
Great album. Love her voice paired with the piano and slow jazzy music.
Ryan Adams
4/5
Surprised by how much I liked this. I’ve tried Adam’s before but it never clicked. This one did.
Gram Parsons
3/5
Perfectly fine country album. Not going to be my first choice off the shelf.
Duke Ellington
4/5
Solid live jazz album that I need to revisit when I have some time for intentional listening.
Anita Baker
3/5
Enjoyable 80s R&B. A bit repetitive but was feeling the smooth jazzy grooves.
Queens Of The Stone Age
4/5
The crunchy guitar sound and vocals make for a solid rock album.
AC/DC
4/5
Classic rock album. Though Brian Johnson produced some bangers for them, I think I prefer the Bon Scott era of Ac/dc. This is a really good final album with him. Makes you wonder what could’ve been.
Barry Adamson
4/5
Very cool concept. Industrial jazz. Bonus points for scoring a non-existent movie.
Gang Of Four
4/5
Solid punk with some grooves.
Sinead O'Connor
3/5
Nothin Compares 2 U is a banger. I was ok with most of the album. Final track was haunting and beautiful. Overall, though, I’d pick up a handful of other singer-songwriter contemporaries before picking this one up.
Al Green
4/5
Just a great soul album that I enjoyed while sitting on the beach.
Killing Joke
2/5
Not my vibe. Maybe deserves another listen to get up to 3 stars.
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
4/5
Great synth pop. Deserves more listens. Poppy with just the right amount of chaos.
