Pyramid Song is a personal favourite from Radiohead, it has Everything In Its Right Place vibes. You and Whose Army? is another track that sticks with me. As an album, I would happily put it on, but those two tracks are what I would go back to most.
Perfectly easy to listen to, still love Radiohead. That said, it's not my favourite of their albums, there aren't tracks I would go back to but it's still something I would put on.
Fine but not for me
One great first tune for me then the rest isn’t memorable (but still easy to listen to)
Not typically my music but a well-written album with catchy tunes
it's not simple to listen to a Sonic Youth album from 1987 and understand what the type of sound meant then—pioneering, different—compared to what it means now. In fact I'm not sure I can make the distinction properly. It's a good listen but without anything specific that would draw me back.
The first half of the album is far away from music I get enjoyment from, but then the second half (specifically starting from Mushrooms & Roses) had more songs I was into
Tito Puente has well known tunes, I don’t think this compilation captures them
Pretty great considering its release in 1991. Some tracks a bit more aggressive, but others good to pretty easy—especially the first half of the album
A level of satire I did not expect or know about, good album to listen to
Probably not on par for me as The College Dropout or Graduation, but there are a couple of earworm songs that I come back to
I did not like this album. To be clear, it is not a bad album, it is something I don't enjoy and it's my rating system.
Has its place in time, songs I've never listened to yet recognise and enjoy
Not for me, but surprised to see this came out in 1974 after listening to it
Didn’t really listen to it, it did not capture me, but again a surprise to see it was released 33–36 years ago
Easy listen, very Bowie despite being decades after his initial work
Very interesting
I love J5 and have loved this album for a while
Such an interesting sound but wasn’t for me, I did not have a drive to listen to it
Not for me (weirdly), I think it was the drums in the end
The first half is so good (4 stars), the second half is too experimental for me
I understand it’s kind of the point, but the misogyny and sexism really doesn’t stop
The coincidence that this came up in my list the day after Ozzy died, a good way to remember
Sounds like it was made for a creepy circus by a creepy clown (I did not like it). Interesting sound though considering it was released in the 70s
Love the album, I don’t love the interludes and skits (generally, in any album)
I thought I would love this, but I only found it okay
An 18 minute intro track is a psychologically challenging way to start an album
I liked this a lot and listened to it twice, you can hear all types of music that was likely influenced by it later
Available in Bandcamp (you can stream for free)
