All credit to Brian Eno: he produced a U2 album that I can at least listen to, if not necessarily enjoy. It just kinda went in one ear and out the other.

I didn't know about this album or its music at the time, which is surprising, considering this would absolutely have been something I would have listened to. It sounds oddly nostalgic to me in that sense. Prolly closer to 3.5 stars.

If it wasn't for what Morrissey represents today, I'd probably be more OK with listening to The Smiths. Otherwise, good album, though I'd be struggling to pick a stand-out song here.

Not exactly the sort of person to listen to rap, but hey - I'm more than OK with listening to it if it means I begin to understand and appreciate what people listen to, and with this album in particular, I think I get it. Unafraid to use samples, lyrically complex, clean and sharp vocals...it's pretty good.

I'm not the target demographic for this...

I've been needing some energy (given the last eight albums), and this gave me it.

This is exactly what I grew up with.

The previous albums I listened to using this at least stuck with me. 'Aqualung' by Jethro Tull stuck with me. 'Berlin' by Lou Reed REALLY stuck with me. 'Revolver' by the Beatles stuck with me. The only thing this album stuck with is my Apple Music 'Recently Played' list. I'd call it musical wallpaper paste, but wallpaper paste actually adheres to stuff.
