Popular Reviews

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Is there a better pop album..?...... I'll wait.... Even if he's a nonce, this album is wall to wall bangers.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies

Love the pixies. Easy 4 star.

Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp

A little bit one dimensional but did enjoy the listen through. It all sounds quite similar.

25 by Adele
Apr 16 2025
Play by Moby
Apr 29 2025

OK - very good high notes, a bit tedious at times.

Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by Small Faces
Apr 30 2025

Absolutely bonkers - proper old school english experimental madness. Love it in very small quantities.

Picture Book by Simply Red
May 01 2025

Simply Red are a bit of a joke these days, but this album is nice. Mick has a good voice and there's nice soulful/jazzy elements as well as the poppy hits. An enjoyable listen to begin with but got worse throughout. By the end of the album I'd had enough.

Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk
May 05 2025

Pretty nice Jazz - could do with a bit more groove for my tastes but perfectly listenable.

May 07 2025

Don't really like U2 but this album is rammed full of bangers. fair play lads.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
May 13 2025

Absolute belter - want to drive down the highway with the wind in my hair.

D by White Denim
May 15 2025

Pleasently surprised by this album. Enjoyable level of rock and groove.

The Clash by The Clash
May 16 2025

As much as I love The Clash at their best, this just wasn't hitting right.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
May 19 2025

Always have time for The Beatles. Prefer compilations more than full albums generally.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
May 30 2025

A titanic classic. Absolutely love Jimmy. One of the few 5 stars I have given.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Jun 02 2025

at it's best it's beautiful soul, but there are a few slow patches and it can feel a bit samey at times too.

So by Peter Gabriel
Jun 03 2025

Not my cuppa, bit 80's, bit poppy.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 04 2025

An all timer personally, I know it's flawed in a lot of ways. Lyrically it's horrendous at times but for pure funk, grove and melody. I'm absolutely in. 4 stars all day.

Jack Takes the Floor by Ramblin' Jack Elliott
Jun 06 2025

This after Bob Dylan is a bit rough - too much rambling country/folk for me.

Low by David Bowie
Jun 09 2025

Good album with some of my favourite Bowie songs on it, I'm not a stan so it's still a 4 star from me. Would give 3.5 if I could.

Moon Safari by Air
Jun 10 2025

Some beautiful light breezy bangers, some OK stuff. Solid overall!

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jun 11 2025

It's important to remember how innovative these guys are, by modern standards it is on the simple side. But considering they had very little frame of reference they put out some banging hip hop.

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jun 12 2025

Damp lyrics and modest funk - not my scene.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 13 2025

I had never sat down and listened to this album before, and it is really innovative and the harmonies are great. The hits are obviously great but all the way through it's a high quality well made album. Perhaps these guys were unfairly pigeon holed.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jun 20 2025

Is there a better pop album..?...... I'll wait.... Even if he's a nonce, this album is wall to wall bangers.

Who's Next by The Who
Jun 23 2025

I think I get it, it just doesn't hugely appeal to me. Some of it is great, but it's just a bit proggy and 70's for me?

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Jun 24 2025

He's great isn't he - some classics on here. All in a good album, not blowing me away. Listenable.

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Jun 25 2025

love her but not for me. Bit slow, can admire the voice though!

Gold by Ryan Adams
Jun 26 2025

Not for me. Soft rock, not enough to keep me interested or engaged.

Cross by Justice
Jun 27 2025

Some absolute fucking belters - an innovative and excellent album. Thanks for telling me to listen to it!

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
Jun 30 2025

Not for me, a bit simple and too old school. Not enough to keep me captivated.

Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
Jul 01 2025

Middle aged white people dinner party. Can appreciate it's decent music but waaaay too middle of the road.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jul 02 2025

Good fun!

Jul 03 2025

It's OK, some of the tunes are great and popular long standing songs. Not hugely my thing though, bit like a weaker daft punk.

Jul 04 2025

Pink Floyd at their best are magnificent, when they're not at their best it's like The Beatles at their worst.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Jul 07 2025

Not what I'd usually go for, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Proper American rock and roll.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Jul 08 2025

Not bad, not really my cup of tea but some good tunes on there..

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jul 14 2025

Really haven't listened to many stones albums, they considerably more experimental than I had imagined. Starting an album with sympathy for the devil is a flex.

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Jul 15 2025

She's clearly a great singer but it's just not for me. All over the place and just a bit dull.

Done By The Forces Of Nature by Jungle Brothers
Aug 06 2025

A founding father of hip hop, a good variety of beats and styles throughout the album. Production value and overall audio quality feels a little low, probably a result of it's time. But I must say I did enjoy the first play through.

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Aug 07 2025

Decent country vibe. Really great album, had Stevie Nicks style vocals and nice catchy country rhythms. A pleseant surprise.

Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp
Aug 08 2025

A little bit one dimensional but did enjoy the listen through. It all sounds quite similar.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Aug 12 2025

Some good shit, some not so good shit. The Weight is so good though.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Aug 13 2025

Respectfully - what the fuck?

Giant Steps by The Boo Radleys
Aug 15 2025

not for me.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Aug 18 2025

A fucking classic, sometimes a little slow on the breakdowns but without doubt a pioneering masterclass.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Aug 19 2025

The second song was enough for me to turn this one off. I'm all for a guitar solo, but an improvised solo on the second track was just not doing it for me.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Aug 20 2025

Innovative and occasionally interesting but doesn't really capture my imagination.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Aug 21 2025

This album is a vibe, and so different to the usual stuff this website has been throwing out. more of this please!

Foxbase Alpha by Saint Etienne
Aug 22 2025

Bit on the random side, but must say I enjoyed it. Similar to The Avalanches.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Aug 26 2025

What an incredible album.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Aug 29 2025

A masterclass in rock. A legendary album for a reason.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Sep 01 2025

It was decent, very cool album, also very short. Absolutely iconic in places.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Sep 02 2025

Not Jimi's finest album, it feels a bit of a mix up of all sorts. Obviously the highs are incredible but it's not a coherent overall sound.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Sep 03 2025

absolutely fucking loved this album when I was 13. It's still decent in some places even if Mr Brightside has been stolen by white people for a wedding anthem.

Duck Rock by Malcolm McLaren
Sep 04 2025

Pretty decent, just quite distracting when I was trying to focus. not the albums fault even if it was a bit all over the place.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Sep 08 2025

Instant 5 stars. One of my all time favourites.

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Sep 09 2025

Actually really good, hadn't heard of her before but it was a great album. Lovely voice, some Jeff Buckley notes in there too. Very innovative for 1976!

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Sep 10 2025

Love the jazziness but did start getting fatigued, but I think that's on me.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sep 12 2025

Iconic. So many nonsense lyrics but the groove and the funk and the nostalgia factor give this one 4 stars.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Sep 15 2025

Not bad, it's for sure not my thing necessarily but still good music in places.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Sep 16 2025

So many iconic songs I grew up with, big fan of the drumming and bass. Overall just an enjoyable album.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Sep 17 2025

Good fun and super innovative of it's time but not something I'll regularly go back and listen to.

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Sep 18 2025

Yeah not bad.

#1 Record by Big Star
Sep 19 2025

Fully had never heard of Big Star before, not too bad. Pretty generic american rock..

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Sep 23 2025

As much as I love their big tracks I hadn't really listened to their albums. Very Radiohead-like quality to their music but heavier. I must admit it was really enjoyable.

Let's Get Killed by David Holmes
Sep 25 2025

Perfect working music, feels similar to Endtroducing. Good hip hopy feel and actually also reminds me of Oceans 11 for some reason. All in all I enjoyed.

Tago Mago by Can
Sep 26 2025

Pretty good, experimental vibes. Not something I'll go back for.

The Contino Sessions by Death In Vegas
Oct 01 2025

Didn't finish it, was doing OK before I got to the end.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Oct 02 2025

bit corny in places and then some undeniable greatness. A hard one to rate.

Oct 06 2025

Such a soft spot for Sam Cooke and the live albums do help you vividly imagine how great it would be to see him.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Oct 07 2025

It was OK, I didn't really notice it while I had it on. So it wasn't offensive nor particularly gripping.

Vivid by Living Colour
Oct 08 2025

Cult of personality is a fucking banger, the rest is quite 80's phil collins vibe which just isn't my cup of tea..

Oct 09 2025

Might just be a few too many tracks. Disk 2 is levels above Disk 1. Otherwise it's an absolute classic and some brilliance on there, just before Andre fell off the deep end and started doing mad shit.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Oct 10 2025

To my British shame I haven't spent enough time listening to the Beatles actual album catalogue. This is a great album and has some huge songs and also some I haven't heard of that just bought the album together. Good stuff.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Oct 14 2025

Never done Neil Young really before, like robert plant and a more folky Led Zep. Enjoy.

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves
Oct 16 2025

Not my cup of tea. Poppy generic pop.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Oct 20 2025

Think I just missed the boat on this one and it now feels a little bit dated. Some of it I get and think is good, others are a bit too power ballad for me.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Oct 21 2025

Lust for life has to be up there with one of the best album starters of all time? Overall the album was enjoyable for someone who knows his hits but not his back catalogue really at all.

Lost Souls by Doves
Oct 22 2025

A bit Jeff Buckley on the chords, a bit radiohead, a bit elbow.. but not as good as any of them..

Woodface by Crowded House
Oct 23 2025

Totally OK 80's/90's poppy rock.. Will never listen to this album again.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Oct 24 2025

Never listening to Kate Bush loads but I totally get it, amazing depth and incredibly experimental and innovative. Some absolute incredible bangers and look at that fucking album cover!

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Oct 27 2025

Love the pixies. Easy 4 star.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Oct 28 2025

I love peak Bowie but this isn't really for me.. I know how innovative and excellent he is in theory but to my ears it's just decent to OK rock.

Dear Science by TV On The Radio
Oct 31 2025

Completely forgettable 2000's rock.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Nov 03 2025

It was OK, unsure how much I truly enjoyed it. Harmless but not particularly thrilling. 3.5 stars.

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Nov 04 2025

Nice piano music but a bit one dimensional as a result?

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Nov 05 2025

Not a huge spirngsteen fan but it was enjoyable and went pretty quickly.

The Dreaming by Kate Bush
Nov 06 2025

Only had another Kate Bush album a few days ago, too much Bush in too short a time.

Heavy Weather by Weather Report
Nov 07 2025

No patience for shit like this today. Game show sounding shit to start the album andf it's their most played song. Fuck outta here.

Nov 11 2025

Obviously some of the biggest and best songs ever on here. It's undeniably a classic, to think this is an actual album is beyond impressive. Quirky and fun, inspiring and incredible musicianship. Has to be a 5 star really doesn't it?

Electric by The Cult
Nov 12 2025

Bit samey and not really my genre of choice.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Nov 13 2025

Not available on Spotify.

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Nov 14 2025

Not on a Monday morning... I can admire the musicianship and skill, still not my kinda music.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
Nov 17 2025

Really enjoyed this album, a bit shrill and badly recorded at points but the jazzy/funkiness was on my vibe.

Pornography by The Cure
Nov 18 2025

Love them at their best but their albums are a bit slow and emo for me..

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Nov 19 2025

CCR are probably my favourite find through 1001 Albums. Could be completely wrong but they feel like proper vietnam era rock and roll. Their music is excellent even if it isn't what I'd usually listen to.

Teenage Head by Flamin' Groovies
Nov 20 2025

It was OK - don't really know how it could make it into the top 1001 albums of all time..

Nov 21 2025

bit odd to have a christmas song mid album, but it's a good bit of Irish fun! Does get a bit draining over time.. Would be so good to watch them in Temple Bar full of Guinness.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Nov 25 2025

Pink Moon is always gettign recommended to me on Spotify, nice song. Let's see what else this guy is about: A bit one dimensional but nice acoustic background music, probably a 3.5 star if I could.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Nov 27 2025

A classic and a belter - 4 stars purely because it isn't as magnificent as my personal preference on 5 star albums.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Nov 28 2025

I love NIN but I really have to be in the mood for them otherwise they're quite irritating. Closer is incredible though.. 3.5 stars.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Dec 01 2025

Yeah enjoyed that, classic 60's/70's rock. Didn't fucking realise Clapton was English!

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Dec 02 2025

So funny that this was considered metal! It's a good album, melodic and rhythmic but clearly still rock/metal. RIP Ozzy.

Nick Of Time by Bonnie Raitt
Dec 04 2025

Just not my thing, American line dancing country rock. No thank you.

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean
Dec 05 2025

5 stars. Excellent variety and creativity, ranging from introspective poetry to pop tunes and a lot in between. I suspect it's ranking will get tanked because this website seems to favour 80's rock above all else but this is a modern classic.

The White Album by Beatles
Dec 08 2025

If this album was 12 tracks it could probably be one of the greats of all time. As it is, there's a lot of absolute nonsense filler twaddle and I'm just struggling to deal with it! 3.5 stars

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Dec 09 2025

Not really my thing. 90's rock that is of very little consequence.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Dec 10 2025

Really fucking enjoyed this - the live aspect added to the album for me and it's so damn cool. Big fan.

Oedipus Schmoedipus by Barry Adamson
Dec 11 2025

1001 greatest albums of all time? It's an interesting score for a film that doesn't exist - will likely forget all about it when it finished.

Tapestry by Carole King
Dec 15 2025

Hot and Cold, decent album.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Dec 17 2025

What a woman, it's a lovely album but country isn't really my thing and even though I'm sure the song writing is delightful it just doesn't really move me when the musicality is one dimensional.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Dec 18 2025

More of the same from Bush really. Not my thing but can admire some of the musicality.

Jazz Samba by Stan Getz
Dec 19 2025

Pretty nice Jazz album. Not mind blowing.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Dec 22 2025

Some funky ass shit. The ass shit applies to all the fart sounds at the end of Wars of Armageddon.

Low-Life by New Order
Dec 23 2025

Just not into the 80's aesthetic really.

Shalimar by Rahul Dev Burman
Dec 25 2025

Some of it was great, some of it was super duper Indian. overall enjoyed the listen though.

Disintegration by The Cure
Jan 07 2026

Actually a pretty decent album, less whiny than some of the other stuff from The Cure. I'll still probably never listen again.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jan 08 2026

Not too bad, not too good.

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
Jan 09 2026

Sorry Dennis I didn't give you a fair chance but you just were not what I wanted today.

Jan 12 2026

Another work of art beyond "just" an album. One of my all time favourites.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jan 13 2026

Oh jheeze, this after Dark Side Of The Moon, this list is fucking delivering. Another 5 stars for me, still not my favourite Radiohead album but the stars don't allow me sufficient wiggle room to rate this 4.5.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Jan 15 2026

Just don't really like Joni Mitchell, bit of a vibe and less slow than the other albums I've heard of hers. 3 stars.

American Idiot by Green Day
Jan 20 2026

A teenage classic, some of it is a bit cringe these days but I loved it when I was a kid! Took a nice trip down memory lane listening to it.

Pelican West by Haircut 100
Jan 21 2026

NO shade on these lads but this list is so lacking in non-white music. Not a bad album, just a bit tired of the same stuff. Nope changed my mind after Love Plus One - crap.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jan 22 2026

Great, if not slightly safe rap.. Opened doors to many artists in the future. In isolation this album is fairly middle of the road with some great tunes and nice rhythm/funk but far from incredible.

Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
Jan 23 2026

pretty nice little album - classic 70's acoustic pop.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 26 2026

Got some absolute fucking all timers on it hasn't it. Probably deserves 4 stars alone for that.

Abbey Road by Beatles
Jan 27 2026

Best Beatles album and one of the best albums out there.

Jan 28 2026

Pretty nice jazz album from the 60's, didn't blow me away but enjoyed the vibe. can imagine it would have been amazing in a jazz bar somewhere.

No Other by Gene Clark
Jan 29 2026

Serviceable album, kind of like The Doors at points and nice melodies. Didn't blow me away.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Jan 30 2026

Boring.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Feb 02 2026

Big fan of this album, listened to it many many times and I think it'll be a timeless great album for a long time..

Feb 03 2026

Yeah a really good album if we're being honest with ourselves. I can't give it 4 stars through personal preference but would love to give it 3.5..

Sound Affects by The Jam
Feb 04 2026

I love The Jam, they remind me of my parents and their youthful vigor. Such cool, London music. Album itself is quick and punchy, not incredible but a great, fun, album.

Feb 09 2026

This is a hugely influential album, I can see it across so many of my favourite artists. On an individual level I enjoyed it too, a step into more modern music from straight acoustic song writing but with the strong song writing still being the backbone of the music.

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Feb 11 2026

They got so charty it's difficult to remember that they were a really cool band when they got started. Really cool vibe and great music.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters by Fiona Apple
Feb 12 2026

Just not for me - seems a good song writer but the music didn't gel with me.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Feb 13 2026

It was a good album, I'd never really listened to it because 7 nation army was so prevalant it was annoying. Good variety and enjoyable. Would give it 3.5 stars.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Feb 16 2026

One of my all time favourite albums. The variety and the vocal power of Buckley and the tragedy of his death make this such an incredible piece of art.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Feb 17 2026

I've actually really enjoyed the Dylan discoveries on this website. This is another good one, the style and vibe works for me.

Heroes by David Bowie
Feb 18 2026

Feels like sacralidge but I'm just not a huge Bowie guy.. Some of his stuff is obviously insane and amazing, but so many of his albums feel a bit rinky dink.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Feb 19 2026

quite generic rock and roll, had high hopes because it was something I completely hadn't heard of but it didn't do much for me, the drumming was basically the same the whole album and the singer had an average voice. 3 stars just because it reminded me of The Pixies.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Feb 20 2026

it's OK you know, it doesn't wow me really in any way but it's good music.

Guero by Beck
Feb 23 2026

Not quite on the same level as some of this other stuff but still an enjoyable album.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Feb 24 2026

i get they’re kind of pioneers of this sound but it sounds like such generic metal/rock

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
Feb 25 2026

Pretty slow tedious folk/country.

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Feb 27 2026

Better than the other Bowie album I reviewed recently. A little bit less experimental and just good old fashioned bangers. 3.5 but more 3 than 4.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Mar 02 2026

Obviously at it's best it has some iconic songs but otherwise I think it was just an OK album.

Metallica by Metallica
Mar 03 2026

Nah not again. The guitar tone is the same on every song and it just doesn't do it for me.

Bossanova by Pixies
Mar 09 2026

There's a lot about the Pixies that I should find irritating but they just aren't.. It's raw, driving melodies and ripping vocals and i just like it.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Mar 10 2026

Yeah he's a fucking legend ain't he. Some awesome tunes and the guy has unlimited game doesn't he.

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Mar 11 2026

Just categorically not for me - generic singer song writer white people music with very little about it.

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Mar 13 2026

Another day, another average white band playing average white music..

Purple Rain by Prince
Mar 16 2026

Geezer is swag personified, album is a touch 80's for me but you can tell it's fucking great still.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Mar 17 2026

Feels like it should be my cup of tea but is actually just a bit annoying at times. Some of it is beautiful though, mixed bag.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Mar 18 2026

It's always a beautiful tonic to hear hip hop when I've been inundated with back to back crusty 70's white guy music.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Mar 19 2026

Quite enjoyable and very different!

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Mar 20 2026

Quite a good album, feels like it's aged a little bit but I guess it is 30 years old... FUCK.

3 + 3 by The Isley Brothers
Mar 23 2026
The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Mar 24 2026

I love this type of music, makes me think of romantic golden era hollywood movies and better times.. It was however a mixed bag on an album, at it's best it made my heart swell, at it's worth I had to skip beacuse it was an irritant..

Connected by Stereo MC's
Mar 27 2026

Proper 90's stuff this.

Live! by Fela Kuti

I immediately warm to music that isn't white and crusty on this list. This is that vibe., plus ginger baker. Respect.

Imagine by John Lennon
Mar 31 2026

Great album, first time.

Apr 06 2026

Of it's time but a great album - nice vibe and reminds me of being a teenageer.

Garbage by Garbage
Apr 07 2026

Not for me, quite 90's slow indy/rock. Slightly cool but just not my kind of cool.

Beautiful Freak by Eels
Apr 08 2026

I do like this album but it's a bit slow at times. Reminds me of Levi jeans..?

1984 by Van Halen
Apr 10 2026

Cheesy 80's synth rock.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Apr 13 2026

A tiny bit elevator music, because I thinik it was overused as elevator music. A decent vibe though.

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Apr 14 2026

Probably a 3.5, I quite enjoyed the vibe of it. Good dinner party music but otherwise a bit of a nothing vibe.

In Utero by Nirvana
Apr 15 2026

Shockingly I've never listened to this before despite how much I love Nirvana. Definnitely worth 4 stars for the excellence of some of the hits, but also how punk it is to release this after Nevermind in a period wher they could have cashed in. Good work.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Apr 16 2026

Preferred it to Stardust, probably still around 3.5 though. Don't think I can give it 4.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Apr 17 2026

It was OK, didn't grab me really at any point.

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Apr 21 2026

Probably my favourite album of hers for it's grittiness and melody. She was one hell of an artist and I miss her.

Out of Step by Minor Threat
Apr 22 2026

Just not a messy, raw punk guy really.

A Little Deeper by Ms. Dynamite
Apr 23 2026

As someone from the UK that enjoys garage style UK hip hop from the 00's this was always going to be up my street. I think it's a less refined UK version of Lauryn Hill in a lot of ways. I'm a fan.

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Apr 24 2026

I had a messy piece of shit album yesterday and now this today. Stupid.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Apr 27 2026

pretty good album, did enjoy it. Didn't have any huge hits for me.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Apr 28 2026

Excellent album, I'd never heard of it but knew a handful of the records. Some iconic songs and the overall composition of the album is great.

Apr 29 2026

Really good 2000's hip hop album. yes they're problematic but it does represent the culture at that point in time and you can't deny the groove and melody involved.

Destroyer by KISS
Apr 30 2026

Kind of passed me by average, boring rock.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
May 01 2026

The Buckleys vocal range is extraordinary, you can see how Jeff was influenced by his dads music. As a standalone album I like it, more jazzy than I was expecting and the music really is a platform to let Tim's vocals fly. It didn't kick off through the second half so was a little flat at times.

Fragile by Yes
May 04 2026

Feels like a concept album wiht a story to tell but also musically just not my vibe.

May 05 2026

Got some classics on it and overall some great musicianship. Suffers at times from being a shade 70's but mostly a great album. heh - Jamaica Jerk Off.

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
May 06 2026

Possibly the most jarringly rogue album I've seen on this website.. Was ready to hate, but had some decent pop/R&B melody vibes. Some of it is total cornball shit still.

Berlin by Lou Reed
May 08 2026

Some of it good, some of it a bit dull. 2.5 stars, rounding down to 2.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
May 11 2026

Pleasantly surprised! Coconut after Without You is fucking mental. 3.5 stars.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
May 12 2026

Got white people music fatigue again. i'd love to see a similar list curated across many cultures instead of so much 70's and 80's crusty white people music (some of which I love btw). American Girl is a bop.

The Stranger by Billy Joel
May 13 2026

Decent but didn't blow me away at any points really.

LP1 by FKA twigs
May 15 2026

Not for me, kind of pretentious high art style stuff but with not enough substance and musicality.

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
May 18 2026

Not for me..

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
May 19 2026

Beautiful beautiful voice - the queen.

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
May 20 2026

Very nice - didn't really get out of 3rd gear for me though. 3.5 stars.

New Boots And Panties by Ian Dury
May 21 2026

The most London album I've ever heard, also got some bangers and reminds me of my dad so I'm probably over rating it. Fuck it. 4 stars.

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
May 22 2026

Vanilla American rock and roll that just doesn't really move me. perfectly palatable but not at all moving.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
May 25 2026

This is probably a 3.5 star album, i enjoyed the variety and the quality of some of the songs given an album I've never listed to! Will have to be 3 stars because it doesn't feel like a 4 star.

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
May 26 2026

Was pretty smooth but a bit of a nothing burger..

Rubber Soul by Beatles
May 27 2026

Much much better than White Album, not as good as Abbey Road in my opinion.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 28 2026

There's some elements that I really love, the groovy melodies and the quality of the musicianship. I also don't really love the vocals and some of the soft rock elements thorughout too. Makes it quite difficult rate. I think I'd go 3.5 stars, rounding down to 3 for some of the softer stuff that just was too wet pop for me.

The Visitors by ABBA
May 29 2026

awh hell no. It just ain't for me man, 80's synth euro pop.

Jun 01 2026

A borderline perfect album. yes it's vulgar and disgusting and homophobic in places (he's since become best friends with Elton John and regrets his statements) but the quality of the song writing and just how different it was made it such an incredible piece of work. There's a reason nobody messes with slim.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jun 02 2026

A 3.5 stars, he's an innovator and bought Afro style jazz/beats to the world when it wasn't so popular in main stream culture. but also the album was a wee bit flat in places. 3.5

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
Jun 03 2026

Hated this WAY less than I thought it was going to, was about to give it 4 stars when I saw that I was listening to a different song of theirs on a different album. Otherwise it's still good - 3.5 stars.

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Jun 04 2026

Pretty vanilla singer/songwriter naughties music. Can't say it's drawn me in really.

Cafe Bleu by The Style Council
Jun 05 2026

This ain't it Paul, sorry dude.

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
Jun 09 2026

Didn't hate it, she's got a superb voice. Just didn't blow my socks off. 3 stars.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 12 2026

I think if you're a massive Bowie fan this would be incredible, but to me it's just a bit of an irritant and fully odd Bowie.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
Jun 16 2026

I love this, immediately bought the vinyl. Absolutely incredible voice and I think a sunday morning with this rolling would be delightful.

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Jul 08 2026

I think I'm being sensitive today but this shit just wound me up.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Jul 09 2026

Not my favourite Radiohead album but I think it bumps to a 4 star album simply for Knives Out.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Jul 10 2026

A bit repetitive at points, but this was an album very much of it's time from a pure rock perspective. Chris Cornells voice is absurdly good, and at their best it's a simply excellent album.
