Absolute waste of time

Great, smooth, laidback session with Stanley Turrentine and Kenny Burrell often outshining Smith himself. Not a record I'd put on to sit down and taken in often. Rather one to put on in the background while cooking, reading or having guests.

Great lead single, but not much more to enjoy. Reminds me of Lauryn Hill at times, but not coming close

Undoubtedly, new and revolutionary at the time. Some riffs and drum patterns have become standard go-to's in more recent rock and metal. And Child in Time is probably one of a few songs where I can stand the organ. Still not an album I will come back to

Great songs, good groove. Much better production than expected. Wouldn't mind listening to again.

Why would anyone make this? It's oh so perfect, and oh so well produced but lacks all that matters to me in music: soul, sentiment, groove. A complete bore.

Had heard their name a lot but had never listened to them. This is my type of music... imperfect, off-key, weird patterns, haunted Melodie's. Will revisit

I can hear why this was a massive feat at the time. Funky beats, neat. The lyrics, mwah. Guess we need to separate the author from the character(s). Overall, a bit monotonous and too long. Foundational but not sensational

I remember the excitement I felt when this came out... listening to it now it is still good, the Sheffield accent is still funny, but to me this is no longer a superb record. A nice collection of songs, some of which are really really good. But not a record I feel like is missing from my collection

Horrible

To me, still his best album, showcasing his songwriting, orchestration and arrangement skills in a way that to this day still blows my mind.
