piss album but really, this album is really good. not the best of classic work, i feel like the vocals could be better, but damn some of these songs are iconic for good reason
I get why people would dislike this album, it is very story driven and maybe can be seen as an ego trip but this whole album lands. Comfortably Numb has one of the best solos ever written. Every song connects and transitions into one another. Mood changes throughout the album create hurricanes of sound. The whole album also creates a compelling story about the costs of social isolation and what leads to it, and how opening yourself to others frees yourself. also funny pudding and worms
Robert Smith saved my grandmother from a cow Jokes aside, I still love this album.
the vocals don’t do it for me
The instrumentals feel like they are tripping over each other, sounds are repeated in a way that makes them obnoxious as well. For this type of stuff to work, the music has to actually sound good. Vocals don’t and instrumentals certainly don’t. Only good song is Alien.
Rest in peace Ozzy. Would’ve rated this a 5 before, and I still will now.
I really like Radiohead’s other albums, particularly OK Computer and In Rainbows. However, I feel like this record is comparatively disappointing. The instrumentals are not as interesting as in its older brother Kid A. Some parts feel more so experimental than made to be good. Thom does not really go that far in his vocals, especially compared to other albums. However, when songs hit, they do heavily. Pyramid song is a masterpiece. Mid 3.
This album feels like it has something missing, and just feels overall slightly corny. Their style is definitely improved on raising hell, thankfully.
Rapping is pretty good but the beats are incredibly inconsistent in quality, with most being off in some way.
Sounds like budget Portishead.
I feel nothing from this album.
Every riff, every chorus, hits.
Kind of falls off after bobd. Those first four songs though (and wake me up when September ends)
Not questioning why I got two Frank Sinatra albums in a row.
Even as a depeche mode guy, I have to admit violator is 10x better.
One of my consistently favorite albums, but this is not a 5. Some songs (mainly bullet to the head) hold it back.
Kind of bloated in spots but the overall product is solid.
holy hell tainted love carries this…..
Instrumentals are amazing. Vocals aren’t. Type 1 “The Smiths” syndrome.
Not even her best album.
It’s fine. But comparing it to other Albarn projects not on the list (like plastic beach and demon days) is damning.
This might be one of the most bloated albums on the list. But honestly it’s fine for the most part.
