Bossanova by Pixies
Jul 03 2025

Cecilia Ann - Good instrumental, sounds like a spy theme. Rock Music - Retro sounding, repetitive. Velouria - Vocals match the drums, good use of the theramin, maybe too much backing vocals. Allison - Too quick, good tom fills, guitars line up nicely. Is She Weird - Vocals aren't right for this song, drums sound robotic, could use more rhythm guitar. Ana - Sounds kind of beach-y, Beach Boys inspired?, every instrument flows well together. All Over the World - Too much tapping, seamless addition and removal of guitar, guitar solo was the best part. Dig for Fire - Not a fan of the rhythm guitar, lyrics aee kind of confusing, transition from the chorus was well executed. Down to the Well - The whistle is weird but fits nicely, enjoyable overall. The Happening - Vocals dont match the rhythm guitar, good harmonization. Blown Away - Vocals can stand out more, too much reverb. Hang Wire - Good storytelling, traveles through multiples genres. Stormy Weather - Vocals match the song, lyrics don't make sense. Havalina - Right energy for a closer, more lyrics.

Jul 04 2025

Brighton Rock - Very strong as an opener, nice shuffle drum beat, Hendrix esque guitar. Killer Queen - Typical piano intro for Queen, dramatic, one of my favourite Queen songs. Tenement Funster - Doesn't sound like Queen, keys hit all the cues perfectly, drums used simple but effective fills. Flick of the Wrist - Darker themed, vocals hit different, flows well. Lily of the Valley - Short and sweet, the build-ups are cool. Now I'm Here - Toms are used creatively, Vocals are a bit too pitchy for me. In the Lap of Gods - Could tell a story without lyrics, very impressed off of first listen. Stone Cold Crazy - Momentum switch from previous song, Auxiliary is used perfectly, cutoffs are outstanding. Dear Friends - Lovely solo from Freddie Mercury, Backup vocals have a very good tone. Misfire - Acoustic is nice, electric supports well, lovely cowbell hit. Bring Back That Leroy Brown - Reminds me of a 50's swing song, interesting mix of instruments (banjo ukelele, and bass voice), Could use more guitar. She Makes Me (Stormtrooper In Stilettos) - Vocals aren't really the greatest in this one, Bring the bass out more.

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Jul 05 2025

Just a Gigalo/I Ain't Got Nobody - Backup vocals were very cool, lackluster drums. (Nothing's Too Good) For my Baby - Keely and Louis's voices suit each other's well, weird message but understandable words. The Lip - Trumpet (as the song suggests) hits high notes perfectly, sounds a bit like a old Disney movie song. Body and Soul - Impressive solo, made sure to hear each and every beat instead of letting the notes go missing. Oh, Marie - Train-like drums aren't the right choice in my opinion. Basin Street Blues/When It's Sleepy Time Down South - Impressed with the brass section again. Jump, Jive An' Wail - Not the biggest fan honestly. Buona Sera - Scatting brought this album together. Night Train - Too much happens at once. You Rascal You - Weird lyrics, good voice though.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jul 06 2025

Sympathy for the Devil - Creative beat, I don't really like the backing vocals. No Expectations - Good slower song, bass pulls it together. Dear Doctor - Harmonica is a good addition, backing vocals helps. Parachute Woman - Lyrics are basic and easy to follow, loud bass is good. Jigsaw Puzzle - Drum beat is simple but perfect for this song, country vibes. Street Fighting Man - Weird message, I like the vocals though. Prodigal Son - Brush sticks on drums, cowboy feel. Stray Cat Blues - Blues but a disco beat?, Lars ahh drumming. Factory Girl - These songs sound so similar. Salt of the Earth - Best vocals on this album, Piano is great.

The Bends by Radiohead
Jul 10 2025

Planet Telex - Solid opener, drums are good. The Bends - Band switches vibes so much it works out nice. High and Dry - Shows off the vocals well, every instrument fits the song perfectly. Fake Plastic Trees - Calming song, great volume changes. Bones - Cool bass riff, I don't really like his voice cracks. (Nice Dream) - Wasn't the biggest fan, too high pitched for me. Just - My favourite on the album, great lyrics, nice backing vocals. My Iron Lung - The guitar kind of annoyed me, the bass carried this one. Bullet Proof ... I Wish I Was - Emotional song, no over playing is good. Black Star - Strong and emotional lyrics, love the ride cymbal. Sulk - Vocals are great, love the guitar part too. Street Spirit (Fade Out) - Weirded me out honestly.

Heroes by David Bowie
Jul 12 2025

Beauty and the Beast - Great disco feel. Joe the Lion - Love the backing vocals, cool beat. "Heroes" - Reminds me of Oasis in a way, Synth ties it together. Sons of the Silent Age - His accent fits in well, Good for a psychedelic ish tune. Blackout - Creative drums, my personal favourite song on here. V-2 Schneider - Solid song, sax kind of carried. Sense of Doubt - Ominous, the deep and heavy piano helped but it isn't the best of songs. Moss Garden - These instrumentals are starting to bore me, it is relaxing though. Neuköln - Sax is nice, I miss vocals. The Secret Life of Arabia - Finally vocals!!, I enjoyed the bass in this one. Great for my first impression of David Bowie.

Take Me Apart by Kelela
Jul 13 2025

Frontline - Very cool vibes. Waitin - Beat doesn't really match the vocals right. Take Me Apart - I like the vocals on this, the lowkey vibe is perfect for her. Enough - Reverb fits well. Jupiter - Rain sound affects is nice, mellow song. Better - Emotional, Smooth vocals and beat. LMK - I'm not a fan of the lower bass-like sound. Truth Or Dare - I like the feel of this one, Autotune is distinctive here. S.O.S. - The added percussion distracts from the song. Blue Light - Attention grabbing intro, impressive range. Onanon - Again the extra stuff distracts me. Turn To Dust - The echoing is cool. Bluff - Repetitive lyrics, Weird scratching sounds. Altadena - They all sound like Ariana Grande songs.
