Music for people with short attention spans
can't wait for this album to finish
album is quite listenable and has some good cover songs. Nice guitar work too.
a great debut album with a nice mix of songs including the classic "The Weight." I recently visited Levon Helm's boyhood home in Marvell, Arkansas
a nice album with Willie's interpretations of classic songs
how have I never heard this before?
I had forgotten what a classic this was!
a groundbreaking concept album with several notable songs that made it onto the radio. I have seen the movie "Tommy" several times but had never listened to the entire soundtrack. Quite good!
Thankfully, YouTube only had half of this long double album so I was spared the pain of listening to the whole thing. A couple of the songs were OK, most were garbage. The 2 radio "hits" are mediocre at best. I always thought one of them was by Carole King. Sorry to disparage you Ms. King!
good album. Nothing really stands out about it
definitely 70's soul but nothing stands out about it
a brilliant songwriter and good guitarist. A few classics and some not so great tracks. His rendition of Hank Williams' "Oh Lonesome Me" was terrible.
I'd never listened to the entire album. A few songs saw heavy rotation on MTV and the radio back in the 80s. Very good mix of music and musicians
not sure why this was on the list. Not offensive but nothing really stands out either
The song "Moondance" has one of the best bass lines ever. The rest of the album is fair
Music for people with short attention spans
ok album. YouTube has a "deluxe" version that is nearly 3 hours long. No thanks. He should be smoking a blunt on the cover :-)
a good listen
why did I need to listen to this pos before I die? Some of the music is ok, but Barry Gibb's voice is grating and the songs get worse as you go. This is what would be playing non-stop in Beelzebub's domain
good early 70s funk
good debut album
a nice mix of tunes
Many classics
Great album
Pretty good album. It was pretty popular when it came out. Hadn't heard some of these in ages.
Great album I listened to many times as a teen. I have it on vinyl with the working zipper album cover. Awesome to listen to through headphones. Lyrics to Brown Sugar are terrible but the music rocks. Love the blues numbers and the country twang in Dead Flowers. A classic!
makes good background music
ok album. Not sure why it made the list of "must hear" music though
another turd that I definitely didn't need to hear before I die
an amphetamine fueled piece of garbage from some Dead Kennedy wannabes. The lyrics are completely unintelligible. It's fitting that this shite was released on Earache Records. The guitarist is ok and the drummer is well, fast. At least most of the 28 tracks are short (the album is just over 30 minutes long)
mid 90s flashback
I listened to this many times growing up. It was a great album to listen to through headphones after burning one. John Paul Jones doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Jimmy Page is one of the best guitarists ever. John Bonham was a wildman on the drums and percussion. I could do without Robert Plant's wank session vocalizations
an amazing debut album. I had forgotten what a classic this was
not stellar. They could have edited out a bunch of random noises and people talking but not saying shit
electronic noise with largely unintelligible lyrics, possibly created by parasitic nematodes on acid. The "musicians" wouldn't even put their names on this piece of shit
groundbreaking punk. i didn't realize they only put out one album. Amazing impact for a short lived band
I thought this may be good with a name like "Thundercat." How wrong I was!! I don't even know how to describe it. It's not even decent background noise as the music sucks and that castrato voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Couldn't wait for this piece of shit to end
strange instruments add unnecessary noise to otherwise ok songs. At least the album was short
not a fan a jazz but Mr. Davis is a talented trumpet player. Music was ok. Keyboard/synthesizer detracted from the sound.
a few good songs
Not bad. Nothing particularly stands out except for the ripoff of Hank Williams Jr's "A Country Boy Can Survive" in their song "Dying Days". I had to have heard this while I at university, but I don't remember. I can hear Beavis and Butthead ripping on this "this sounds like college music hehehe"
ok for background music. Album is nice and short
some good songs. "Fast Car" was really overplayed when it came out.
