Nostalgia from Toy Story is the only thing I got from this
I couldn’t make it past the first two songs, I feel like I’m listening to a depressing Disney movie soundtrack
Couldn't stop thinking about Family Guy.
Randy Newman's music is the equivalent of walking down the street and overhearing random people's conversations. Mundane and irrelevant to you. It has no significant bearing on your life and quickly forgettable. Listening to an entire album is the equivalent of waiting in a long line and having to hear the guy behind you carry out the boring details of his life.

I’m not a Randy fan, so this was a tough slog. Some great arrangements, but I couldn’t get past Newman and his phrasing.
Sounds like a insanely wayward man jibbering on about nothing. Some woeful lyrics. If there was ever an album that didn’t need bonus tracks….
I thought it was pretty naff throughout, and that the lyrics were just bad, until the last song. But by then I was kind of turned off the whole thing. I did have a chuckle at the tune about bombing anywhere except the US, that one was funny.

I guess his single Short People soured me on Randy Newman. I simply don’t like his singing style, and this record doesn’t change my mind
