Popular Reviews

The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance

Catapulted right back to my past! This album is just so amazing! It's memory will carry on ;-)

Sing To God by Cardiacs

An album where I often was thinking: "Wtf is this?! I love it" Not the most easily digestible music, but always surprising

LUX by ROSALÍA

At first I thought: Just another pop-singer. Then I listened to the album. And this was much more than anticipated! Even got goosebumps on some songs. She's an amazing singer. And the classical influences in this album are so well done and mixed in.

I heard the name of this very recent pop- artist several times, but did not really listen to her music. I was pleasantly surprised, and I get why she 's so popular right now

Triple thank you for submitting this album. Such soothing and calming music is very welcome. Loved every second of it

Hand. Cannot. Erase. by Steven Wilson
Jan 29 2024

interesting progrock album. Lyricaly, I had a harder time to empathize with the story of the album. But the music is very good.

Jan 30 2024

Very relaxing music to listen while working. But not exactly some album I would play in my spare time

El Circo by Maldita Vecindad Y Los Hijos Del 5to. Patio
Jan 31 2024

I don't speak a word Spanish. But I really liked the energy and the 'ska'-ness of this album

Madvillainy by Madvillain
Feb 01 2024

Hated some songs, like 'Rainbows'. Could tolerate some others. This is not an album for me

Rêver mieux by Daniel Bélanger
Feb 02 2024

Maybe not the best singer, but the songs are nice and there are some beautiful arangements

Control by Pedro The Lion
Feb 03 2024

That Seattle grunge sound is never far away. The rawness and darkness of this album is very intriguing. 'Magazine' and 'Second Best' are amazing, strong songs. Nice discovery!

Music For People In Trouble by Susanne Sundfør
Feb 04 2024

You get teleported to some magical, norse fairytale with angelic singing. Lovely album to dream away

Weezer by Weezer
Feb 05 2024

It's a shame this album is not included in the books. The energy this album contains is insane. And it includes some timeless songs. Couldn't resist to sing along most of the songs

After Hours by The Weeknd
Feb 06 2024

I remember seeing advertisements for this album on television. Therefore, I find this way too 'in the face'. Also, the excess of way to obvious autotune bothers me a bit too much. I bobbed my head on 'Blinding Lights', but that's almost it.

F♯ A♯ ∞ by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Feb 07 2024

Although I like some post-rock - and in that cause longer songs - from time to time, these songs seem to be much more split up in distinct parts. It might be a creatieve choice, but in my opinion they would stand better as individual songs. On the other hand: The music is very good. Some good build-ups, lovely use of the violin. Very beautiful atmosphere

Nuyorican Soul by Nuyorican Soul
Feb 08 2024

Some latin, some jazz, and even some disco. It's a fun album, but not really worth a re-listen for me

I Need to Start a Garden by Haley Heynderickx
Feb 09 2024

The first few songs were lovely, timid songs. It felt like everything fits good together. The second part of the album is more uptempo. And in another way, everything fits too! Precious little surprise

Night Drive by Chromatics
Feb 10 2024

I found this album quite dull and boring. And then 'Tick of the Clock' came on. Multiple times I thought: "What is this song?", "Why is this even a song?", "Why is this 15 minutes long?!?"... This 1 song completely broke the album for me, and is the main reason of giving this the lowest rate

Kick by INXS
Feb 11 2024

Another classic album for which it is a shame it's not included in the books. With 4 successfull hitsongs it would deserve its place. They sure love the reverb in the vocals. And the guitar riffs are very funky.

Version 2.0 by Garbage
Feb 12 2024

Didn't feel a connection with this album, but there are some good songs

Piledriver by Status Quo
Feb 13 2024

Some lesser known songs from Status Quo. The first song had me thinking it would sound all alike. But to my surprise, this album was more diverse than expected

Feb 15 2024

I remember listening this album when it came out. I don't really like this 'crooner'-version of Arctic Monkeys. And now, at the re-listen, it didn't change that much.

Feb 17 2024

This album was a 50/50 for me. The 'heavier' songs I did not like. But the more dreamy ones were okay. But I had a little struggle to get to the end of this album

A Salty Dog by Procol Harum
Feb 18 2024

Not particulary special

Spilt Milk by Jellyfish
Feb 19 2024

Loved this album. Very poppy sound, without deviating too much from the traditional rock-vibes. Some folk and big-band parts are to be found also. I'll keep this one in my favorites!

Ænima by TOOL
Feb 21 2024

Amazing album! Atypical rythms, loud but hypnotizing

Because the Internet by Childish Gambino
Feb 22 2024

I had the urge to stop this album during the first 2 songs. But as always, I push through the end. Luckily there was the occasional song which I liked. But not a high ranking album for me

Apostrophe(') by Frank Zappa
Feb 23 2024

Half an hour of weirdness. But it kinda okay

Maestro by Kaizers Orchestra
Feb 24 2024

I don't understand Norwegian. But I liked the mood and sound of the music very much.

Blink-182 by blink-182
Feb 25 2024

Unbelievable this album is not included in the books! Such iconic songs that meant so much for the punk-pop scene.

Bloody Kisses by Type O Negative
Feb 26 2024

Not my cup of tea...

Forced Witness by Alex Cameron
Feb 27 2024

Mixed feelings about this one. Music was alright, but I lost attention from time to time

McDonald and Giles by Ian McDonald
Feb 28 2024

Very oldschool progrock. It seems more accessible than some of the newer stuff.

Dimanche à Bamako by Amadou & Mariam
Feb 29 2024

Many summer vibes. And the influence of Manu Chao is clearly present. I enjoyed listening to this one

Give Up by The Postal Service
Mar 01 2024

Very gloomy music, and the sound of Death Cab is never far away. Although I found this album a little more longwinding. Not exactly boring, but it could be better

Fuzz by Chucklehead
Mar 02 2024

Funky, but not memorable

Currents by Tame Impala
Mar 04 2024

Really cool album. Although it's a lot of the same sometimes

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel
Mar 05 2024

Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Mar 07 2024

Loved this album

A Live One by Phish
Mar 08 2024

Incredibly long album. But it's with good, funky and sometimes jazzy music.

Tomb by Angelo De Augustine
Mar 09 2024

Very minimalistic. Sad, yet dreamy. Not something I'd prefer to play spontaniously. But could appreciate this

Cleopatra by The Lumineers
Mar 12 2024

Really love the indie folk sound. There was a smile on my face when I saw this album was submitted

The Beautiful Letdown by Switchfoot
Mar 13 2024

A fine line between rock, grunge and pop. I loved the diversity in this album

Enema Of The State by blink-182
Mar 14 2024

The drivers in traffic were witness of how much I enjoyed this album. So many sing-along moments.

The Hazards of Love by The Decemberists
Mar 15 2024

It's like a rock opera fairytale. Usually I listen these albums during my car commute. And so I did with this. But it gave me the urge to listen it again, with the lyrics in front of me to really get the full story.

Sublime by Sublime
Mar 16 2024

I liked the ska songs, but the more 'punky' ones were lacking something

Discosis by Bran Van 3000
Mar 17 2024

The first song striked some sparks of recognition. The rest of the album was a little bit of hit and miss. At some points I lost my attention

Vedergällningen by Garmarna
Mar 18 2024

Fantastic! Dark, but entrancing. I just loved this music!

Mar 19 2024

Beautiful album! The melodies en lyrics fit together incredibly.

Come And Get It by Rachel Stevens
Mar 20 2024

Never thought I would like a pop album this much! It's totally not cliché in any means. Some good beats, easy lyrics to sing along.

Poesía Básica by Extrechinato y Tu
Mar 21 2024

This album didn't stick. although there were some okay-ish songs

22, A Million by Bon Iver
Mar 24 2024

The sampling and the integrity of Bon Iver kind of don't match for me... I don't think it's their best album. But it's enjoyable

Yeti by Amon Düül II
Mar 25 2024

Very psychedelic

Nurture by Porter Robinson
Mar 26 2024

Not really my liking, but it wasn't bad

Zuckerzeit by Cluster
Mar 28 2024

Typical Krautrock. Not bad, but not really my first choice of music

Racine carrée by Stromae
Mar 30 2024

Formidable!! How Stromae puts dark and depressive lyrics on a heavy house beat is incredible. And the variation of ballads and more dancable songs is stunning.

A City Dressed In Dynamite by That Handsome Devil
Mar 31 2024

Very... Interesting. Sometimes I got the feeling the vocals didn't match the music. But it ain't a bad album

Englabörn by Jóhann Jóhannsson
Apr 01 2024

Don't know what it is with me and Icelandic music. But Björk, Sigur Rós, Dadi Freyr, Of Monster and Men,... All of them seem to fall in my favor. And this one is no exception! It sounds magical, atmospheric, intimid and grotesque all at once! Loved it!

Dogrel by Fontaines D.C.
Apr 02 2024

Nice and unique style. Good album

Emotional Mugger by Ty Segall
Apr 03 2024

Loud and distorted! I like it! It's garage rock, but has some industrial vibes to it without exaggerating too much

Boys And Girls in America by The Hold Steady
Apr 04 2024

Very 'American sounding' and incredibly lyrical. Some Springsteen vibes at times. Good album

Apr 06 2024

Very funky indeed. A nice Dutch discovery. Had never heard from this band

Apr 09 2024

Catapulted right back to my past! This album is just so amazing! It's memory will carry on ;-)

A very funky disco-album. A bit too much of the same after a while, but still fun

A1A by Jimmy Buffett
Apr 11 2024

Not my cup of tea

Lahai by Sampha
Apr 12 2024

At the first song, I thought I would want to turn off the music very quick. But the second song I liked more. After that the album went a bit boring and much of the same

Continuum by John Mayer
Apr 13 2024

Good as background music

Live in San Francisco by Thee Oh Sees
Apr 14 2024

Very heavy indeed! The energy just splashes in your face, even though you're not in the live audience! Amazing wall of sound too. Good choice!

Peasant by Richard Dawson
Apr 15 2024

To me, this one sounded like a bad busker on a London street. Singing was awful, guitar sounded too out of tune to me... Very chaotic. Although I liked the songwriting, I had a hard time listening to this album

Watch Out! by Alexisonfire

I like some hardcore where the screaming isn't too dominant. But the music here was lacking some power

Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie
Jun 15 2024

'The Amazing Devil' actually amazed me. It's folk, but with a high percentage of rock (and even slight traces of hard rock). Lyrically, this album is very poetic (I mean, have you read the lyrics of Inkpot Gods for example). This album went fast from "unknown to me" to "man, I love this"

This band was completely unknown to me. And too bad they are splitting up, because I LOVED this music! Very atmospheric and dreamy, but some heavier parts too. The vocals are amazing. And the complete sound of it just touched me in a way I can't really describe

Very eclectic and happy sounding. A fun listen

Check Your Head by Beastie Boys
Mar 17 2026

Not the strongest Beastie Boys album, in my opinion

Mar 18 2026

Completely unknown to me. But this surprised me a lot. Incredible nu-metal, with some more experimental parts here and there

Feed The Animals by Girl Talk
Mar 19 2026

An eclectic mix/mash-up of way too many samples and way too many genres, but somehow sounds wonderfull. Any moment you can try to define where a particular sound comes from. Or to guess what will come next. Girl Talk is a master in what he does 5*mm

New York by Lou Reed
Mar 21 2026

Lou Reed isn't the best singer. And the music is not extraordinary. The lyrics are very good though

Rainbow Brain by GRiZ
Mar 22 2026

This one did make me do some moving around

The Unutterable by The Fall
Mar 25 2026

Some songs were fine, others I found complete rubbish

Word Gets Around by Stereophonics
Mar 29 2026

Not the hits I know them for, but this is good music!

Blackwater Park by Opeth
Mar 31 2026

The opening track was a tough one to get into. But the longer, more melodic song, I liked a lot

Blonde by Frank Ocean
Apr 01 2026

I found this album to be very boring. Up to the point where I was thinking: "why am I still listening to this". But I promised myself to listen to every album fully, so I pushed through

Apr 05 2026

Nice, calming jazz music

Red by King Crimson
Apr 08 2026

Some good prog rock

Cracker Island by Gorillaz
Apr 09 2026

No big hits from this album. But it does have a lot of awesome collaborations

Zaireeka by The Flaming Lips
Apr 11 2026

Interesting concept. I listened to a playlist of a mix of the 4 CD's. Still, the songs felt a bit empty. Not a favorite of mine

The Livelong Day by Lankum
Apr 13 2026

Very traditional Irish folk. Liked this a lot

The Phantom Of The Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Apr 21 2026

To me, this is not an album. It's an audio-only version of a musical. And it does not work for me. There's too much information lost without people playing it out in front of you. It's hard to distinguish characters. You don't see the emotions played out.

Nu Delhi by Bloodywood
Apr 23 2026

This was suprisingly good!

The Crimson Idol by W.A.S.P.
Apr 24 2026

This was an allright metal album, nothing too special about it

Very raspy voice, and intimite music

Elk-Lake Serenade by Hayden
Apr 29 2026

This was fine. Nothing too special about it

Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich
Apr 30 2026

It is kind of relaxing, but borders on being somewhat boring

Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda
May 01 2026

Already said it once. This is not an album. It's an audio only musical. So a few minus stars for that. On the other hand, the story is kinda followable. And the music is catchy.

Donuts by J Dilla
May 03 2026

Just your standard slow hiphop.

May 06 2026

This sure is something special. Kinda had a hard time listening it through, but I applaud the originality

NIN does need An acquired taste. I kinda like it

May 08 2026

This was certainly some cool dub music

Shallow Bed by Dry the River
May 12 2026

This was a lovely album. Some good harmonies. Too bad this band has split up, cause they sound like something I would enjoy seeing live one day

The Fool by Bladee
May 14 2026

This didn't click for me. It's not bad, but felt pretty bland

Silent Shout by The Knife
May 15 2026

This was a surprising album. I'm always a bit sceptical when I read 'electronic music', but this was kinda experimental in a fun way. It may not be the 'danceable' type, but I liked it

Shibuboshi by SHIBUSASHIRAZU
May 16 2026

Interesting style of free jazz. I like that there are some Rock-Parts in it. But not something I would spontaniously play again

Twilight Override by Jeff Tweedy
May 17 2026

Average singer songwriter album. Nothing too special about it.

Songs of Faith and Devotion by Depeche Mode
May 19 2026

As the description says: it's the typical sound of Depeche Mode, but a bit darker and a rough rock-touch

Diesel And Dust by Midnight Oil
May 20 2026

Only knew their hit song. The rest of this album is a bit more of the same

Moanin' by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers
May 23 2026

When you think of jazz, this is the kind of music you expect. It was quite relaxing 4*

May 24 2026

I think I could describe this as pop-metal. They use a lot of clichés and musically it's not that interesting

Purgatory by Tyler Childers
May 30 2026

Country music that's not too special

Nimrod by Green Day
May 31 2026

Good oldie, without too many hit singles.

Mother Earth's Plantasia by Mort Garson
Jun 02 2026

As I'm not a plant, I'm not the target audience for this music. Jokes aside: I kinda like this retro-form of electronic music. It's sound simple and pure in a way.

Weird, but not too bad

Silent Hill 2 by Akira Yamaoka
Jun 08 2026

Great variation in score. From eerie piano-esque tunes to hard rock

I saw this band live once, on a festival. It was a banger of a performance. But alas, I did not search their music afterwards. Now listening to this album was a fun experience too

The Glow, Pt. 2 by The Microphones
Jun 10 2026

Very indie-sounding indeed. I kinda liked it

Jun 13 2026

Not something I would like to listen to again

Very standard punk. Was alright

The Mollusk by Ween
Jun 16 2026

This is one chaotic mix of genres, that somehow work quite well

Days Of Future Passed by The Moody Blues

Hi Fi Way by You Am I
Jun 20 2026

Nothing too special

Jun 23 2026

A bit standard singer-songwriter

Voodoo by D'Angelo
Jun 24 2026

At first I thought this would be some gangsta rap from the album picture. But I got some soul and R&B instead. Quite enjoyful even

ross. by Low Roar
Jun 25 2026
Ultravisitor by Squarepusher
Jun 26 2026

The more 'jazzy' songs, those I liked. But the parts where the noise-sections overruled, I did not. In such a way it took down my overall opinion of the album

Jun 28 2026

Some cool Brazilian blues rock

Jul 01 2026

Panorama by Hällas
Jul 05 2026

This one was fine, but nothing too special

The Golden River by Frog Eyes
Jul 09 2026

If it was not for the description, I would have guessed this was another side project from Damon Albarn. This sounds very dreamy

Moonshine Freeze by This Is The Kit
Jul 10 2026

The songs are maybe all a bit to alike. Otherwise, this was a fine listen

For Those I Love by For Those I Love
Jul 13 2026

Not something I would pick out from a lineup, but listened to this while going for a run, and kinda enjoyed it

Amazing how serenity can be combined with a kind of bombastic sound. A lot comes from the vocals, which are wonderful

Somehow, this album just hit the right boxes for me. Very athmospheric. The brass adds another nice layer to it

Civilisation by Kero Kero Bonito
Jul 26 2026

To begin with: I love the artwork! Lovely little dreamy album.

Music Complete by New Order
Jul 28 2026

A little bit less dark and gloomy than their older work. Still good though

Pink by Boris
Jul 30 2026

When I read 'experimental', I had my doubts I would like this. But this is more of a blend of punk and postrock of some sorts. Very surprised with this one

David Comes To Life by Fucked Up
Aug 01 2026

There's a sheer contrast between cleanly played punk music and the screaming vocals, but somehow it first well together.
