It's a 7/10 for me, but I have to give it five stars. This pushes metal music to the extreme. You need to hear it to believe it. This is very much an album that everybody should experience at least once. Sheer brutality and madness. I love it.

10 out of freaking 10. I repeat, 10 out of freaking 10. Personally, I am not a fan of rap music. However, Rage Against the Machine is a big fat exception for me. They combine dope metal, and sick rapping. The songs in this album are memorable, well-written, and still relevant over thirty years after its release. Let's not forget about the fact that Maynard James Keenan has been featured on its track Know Your Enemy. He is my absolute FAVOURITE singer, and sadly, this album appears to be the only one in this 1001 album thing in which he is featured. Anyway, this album is a 10/10. It certainly is a must-listen album. :)

5/10. I found the album to be fairly disappointing. This is mainly because I had really high expectations. I am a fan of Pink Floyd, and prog is my favourite genre. In my opinion, Pink Floyd is the single best band to ever grace this Earth (not to be confused with my favourite band; that one is TOOL). Because of the sheer spectacular musicianship that takes place in Pink's Floyd music, as well as Syd Barrett's status as one of Pink Floyd's founders, I expected this album to be a masterpiece. However, it was a letdown. In fact, it felt below average in comparison to most of the albums in the 1001 album project which I've reviewed so far, let alone one that came from a founder of the single greatest band to ever exist on the face of the Earth. The tracks seemed to be boring, and they seemed to fall flat. The heap of outtakes that capped this album made the experience a lot less pleasant. While I would give this a 3/5 if it were by some average ol' hippie Joe doin' a solo album, I will give this a 1/5 instead, given the circumstance that this album is by a Pink Floyd founder.

7/10. It isn't anything particularly remarkable, nor does it really belong on a list of 1001 must-listen albums, but I like its style. :)

10/10. David Bowie was a remarkable musician. I find it incredible that he was able to maintain such a good style of music late in his career. Unless I am mistaken, David Bowie has been included in the 1001 album list a whopping nine times, and he definitely deserves it.

10/10. Forget about what other people are saying about this album. THIS is truly a must-listen album. There are far too many unremarkable albums in this 1001 album project. This is not one of them. This is incredible, and revolutionary.

10/10. :) This is the third 10/10 that I have been given!!! :) Personally, I love Cream. They are a fantastic band. The songs SWLABR, Strange Brew, World of Pain, Tales of Brave Ulysses, and Outside Woman Blues are all really memorable masterpieces. Among the sea of 1960's psychedelic rock albums in this 1001 album project, this one is absolutely among the superior ones. I wish that there were more Cream albums in the project. I really don't think that The Byrds need to be featured a whopping five times in the project. They're really not as good as Cream.

8/10. This is a really interesting album in comparison to other punk albums. I felt some retro vibes. The vocals were interesting. In general, I enjoy punk music with female vocals over punk music with male vocals. :)

Rust in Peace is one of my favourite albums of all time. In my opinion, it is THE best metal album of all time. I'm a fan of Megadeth, and I've already listened to this album several times. There is spectacular guitar work, and spectacular drumming throughout this album. It starts with Holy Wars...The Punishment Due, which is arguably one of the best first tracks for any album. It was my second-favourite song for some time. Then comes Hangar 18. Another great song. Then comes Take No Prisoners. Then comes Five Magics, and so on. Tornado of Souls is one of the most impressive songs, in my opinion. The album ends with Rust in Peace...Polaris. What a great track to finish this masterpiece of an album. 40 minutes and 48 seconds of metal bliss. If you've never listened to this album, do yourself a favour, and listen to it.

8/10. I'm going to be honest here: Prior to listening to this album, I surfed through its negative reviews. I was expecting myself to really hate it. I honestly really enjoyed listening to this album. Perhaps I would have liked it less if I had higher expectations. There was a lot of nice variety in here. It was cool. :)

10/10. It's Led freaking Zeppelin. :) This album is bliss from the start to the finish, and the tetralogy of Led Zeppelin's first four works is arguably the most important out of any other tetralogy. :)

3/10. This album really bored me. It felt never-ending. I think that it's cool that this album revived some of Woody Guthrie's old works, but it doesn't make the album any more pleasant to listen to. Just because it's an important record doesn't mean that it's a must-listen.

10/10. W O W!!!!! I really didn't expect this album to be THIS good!!!!! :) Hip hop music isn't my cup of tea. However, something about this album in particular just hit me in all the right spots, and scratched all of the right itches in my brain. It's nothing short of absolutely enjoyable. The instrumentation is dope, and so were the vocals. The album did not get dull over time. While I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Rage Against the Machine's self-titled album, it's pretty freaking close to being as enjoyable as that album. I certainly plan on re-listening to this album in the near future. :)

9.5/10. This is a revolutionary album that pioneered hard rock and metal music. Rainbow is one of my absolute favourite bands, so it's great to see some pre-Rainbow Ritchie Blackmore work in this 1001 album project. Although, I am disappointed by the fact that there aren't any Rainbow albums in the project. :)

6.5/10. In my opinion, it isn't too remarkable of a listen. I prefer #1 Record. I liked the cover of Femme Fatale. :)

6/10. Quality is objective. Taste is subjectively. Objectively, this is one of the greatest and most innovative rap albums of all time. However, subjectively, it just doesn't do much for me. Sorry. :)

2.5/10. It just went on and on and on. It really bored me. It's really not my vibe at all. My favourite part of the experience was when I got a Bon Jovi advertisement on Spotify. Sorry.

100/10. Where do I begin? It's The Dark Side of the freaking Moon. It is one of the best albums of all time. Every single second of this album is pure perfection. I believe that anybody who says that this is a bad album is an edgy try-hard. If music were like clay and stones, Pink Floyd would be top-tier sculptors who sculpt royalty. Pink Floyd is the best freaking band to ever touch this Earth.

7.5/10. I don't know why, but this album may just be the album that matched my expectations the best. I literally got chills because this album sounds EXACTLY like what I thought it would sound, from the vocals, to the instrumentation. Expectations aside, this is a solid album. The music is beautiful. :)

4.5/10. The instrumentation in a lot of the tracks is really great. However, good Lord, those vocals are giving me a bloody headache. They sound whiny, and are making it extremely difficult to enjoy the album. I hear a lot of rock influences. I think that it would have been great if they would have performed their vocals in a different manner. Perhaps actual metal screaming, rather than whiny shouting would have lifted this album up to a 9/10. Perhaps if I listen to the Beastie Boys more, I will acquire a taste for the vocals, and begin loving this album. For example, Dave Mustaine's vocals are an acquired taste which I have acquired, and I LOVE Megadeth. I would like to note that No Sleep Till Brooklyn is a standout track for me, personally. :)

It managed to stay fresh throughout its two-hour time-span. I need to give it credit for that. However, I will give it four stars instead of five stars, since I didn't enjoy it the same way I enjoyed the albums that I gave 5 stars. :)

10/10. I'm sorry, but who gave this album the authority to slap THIS hard? This is a banger!!! I was in a terrible mood, and for some reason, listening to this album made me feel a lot better. The delivery of the raps was really exciting. I love the incorporation of hard rock in several tracks (namely Walk This Way and Raising Hell). This is a really memorable album. I honestly expected to dislike it, but I was wrong. This album is absolutely brilliant!!! :) I wish that modern-day rap music sounded more like this instead of the mumble-filled jargon with the most uninspired lyrics and instrumentation possible.

I'm sorry, but has this album ever changed anybody's life? Has anybody ever recalled this album on their death bed? I doubt it. Also, what the hell is up with the band members' hairstyles? They look really weird.

The purpose of the 1001 album project should be to find life-changing music that you will reflect upon at one point in life. So far, I have listened to around three quarters of the albums in the project (including those which I haven't yet received in this website's database), and this album is hands-down one of my favourite albums, and one of the albums that has had the biggest impacts on me. I vividly remember the first time I listened to this album. On the day I listened to this album, I previously listened to three other albums: "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" by Small Faces, "Go Girl Crazy!" by The Dictators, and "Low" by David Bowie. Upon listening to "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake" and "Go Girl Crazy!", I wasn't very impressed. Then, I listened to "Low" by David Bowie. While listening to it, I gave myself a manicure. I enjoyed it very much (it's David bloody Bowie, why wouldn't I enjoy it?). Then, after listening to that, feeling amused both by the experience, and by my fresh, new manicure, I went back to the list of 1001 albums to select one to listen to next. "Hmm...how about Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode? That one looks interesting. I've been meaning to check out some of Depeche Mode's music, and I only know their song "Personal Jesus". Let's give it a try!". I didn't have many high expectations. I am well aware of the sheer amount of mediocre 1980's pop albums in the 1001 album project. Also, I listened to this album for the first time only a few days after listening to the album "Songs From the Big Chair" by Tears for Fears for the first time. Upon listening to that album, I was absolutely blown away, and I declared it my new favourite pop album. Along with that, I am biased towards hard rock and metal music, so I don't always judge non-heavy albums in a fair manner. Anyway, I hit the play button on this album. The first track of the album, "Never Let Me Down Again", began playing. *boop boop beep, boop beep, beep, beep, beep boop beep boop beep* *queue the other instruments* "Oh...oh my...oh my goodness...what am I listening to?" David Gahan didn't even utter a single word yet, and I was already immersed in the experience. I may have already forgotten about my fresh, new manicure. THIS is the moment. I proceeded to attentively listen to the rest of the first track. "Wow, that was incredible!!!" Queue "The Things You Said". Much like the first track, I absolutely enjoyed this track as well. I was completely immersed in the listening experience of this stunning album. Queue "Strangelove". At this point, I'm already too far gone. I've only ever heard three Depeche Mode songs at this point, and I was already a huge fan of theirs. Either while listening to "Strangelove", or this album's proceeding track, "Sacred", I went onto my online forum (I run an online forum), and somewhat freaked out. I wrote, and I quote, "I can feel my heartbeat increasing. I want to cry. My ears are blessed. My body is alive. My toes are happy.", followed by the Spotify link to this album. I wanted to encourage my peers to listen to this album with me. Queue "Little 15". This song featured a very interesting vibe, but like the rest of the songs so far, I was completely immersed in the experience. I begged for as much of this album as possible. Queue "Behind the Wheel". Everything sounded so on-point. The album went on. When it ended, I was left shocked, and with a raging desire to listen to everything else that Depeche Mode has to offer. My initial favourite track from this album was "Nothing", but now, it's "Never Let Me Down Again". I wrote a note to myself to remind myself to listen to more Depeche Mode. Upon looking through the list of 1001 albums yet again, I found out that "Violator" is also an album in the project, so I listened to it the proceeding day. Much like "Music for the Masses", I absolutely loved it. The proceeding day, I began a serious Depeche Mode discography binge. I may have listened to them for around six hours on that day. I began listening to at least one Depeche Mode album every day, so that I can get through their entire discography. Upon listening to their entire discography, "Music for the Masses" remains as my favourite Depeche Mode album. One month later, and I had nearly 1,000 Depeche Mode scrobbles on last.fm, and today, they are the second-most-scrobbled artist in my profile (after TOOL). Prior to me getting into Depeche Mode, I've never been THIS into an artist upon listening to them for the first time (not counting the times I listened to "Personal Jesus" a few years prior). At this point, it's needless to say that this album changed my life, and my perception of the art of music. In fact, the only other album in the 1001 project that may have had a larger impact on me is the album "Master of Puppets" by Metallica. Thanks to the list of 1,001 albums, I began listening to Depeche Mode. Ever since the day I listened to this album for the first time, I have not gone a single day without listening to Depeche Mode, and I plan on continuing my daily ritual of immersing myself into the world and work of Depeche Mode. In fact, I'm listening to Depeche Mode as I'm writing this review for this splendid masterpiece of an album. I would like to give a massive thanks to the compilers of the 1001 albums for bringing this album, and this band into my life. TL;DR, I adore this album, and I adore this band.

9/10. At first, it seemed to be a mere decent Britpop album. However, as it progressed, it began getting better. The usage of what appears to be sampled quotes at the beginning of some songs, as well as the lyrics regarding numerous serious topics really bring a very interesting vibe to the album as a whole. I don't usually like the vocals from a Britpop album, but the vocals here are incredible. Speaking of vocals, I find the fact that the vocalist who sang in this song disappeared to give this album another meaning. I am also fond of the general instrumentation in this album. Overall, it's a really great listen, and all of its layers really intrigue me!!! :)

This is the kind of music that I simply crave every once in a while, and really need to listen to when I do. Oh, and who can forget that the song "Heart of Glass" is on this album? I bloody love that song. I listened to it 46 times in a single day a few months. Everything about that song just feels so perfect!!! It's SO exciting when that song comes up (not this time around; my Mama interrupted me a few seconds after the song began playing). :) Aside from "Heart of Glass", there are other straight-up bops on the album like "Sunday Girl", "Hanging on the Telephone", and "Picture This". Ah, this album is so nice! :)

6.5/10. Generic electronic album. There isn't much to say here. The instrumentation is alright, and I have a bit of a bias when it comes to this type of music in some circumstances. :)

8.5/10. Taylor Swift is dominating today's music scene, and for a very good reason. She is talented, and her music is great. This album has a very sweet vibe. While this album is relatively new, this album will most likely still be relevant in several decades. :)

6.5/10. The experience while listening to this album's first few tracks is nice. However, it does not linger, since it's painfully forgettable. Around halfway through, I practically forgot that I was even listening to music in the first place.

8/10. Right off the bat, the album starts with "Seven Nation Army", which is arguably one of the best album openers that one can pick. It really sets the mood for the rest of the album, which also rocks, and features various dope tracks. Although, there are a couple of dull ones here and there. I find the history behind The White Stripes really intriguing.

7.5/10. There is a really dreamy vibe to the guitars. The vocals are tender, but a little bit irritating at times. The drums are cool. I enjoy the overall dissonance. However, I wish that there was more deviation between songs. :)

10/10. Right off the bat, if it's a Led Zeppelin album, it automatically warrants five stars. I bloody love (LOVE) Led Zeppelin!!! This is one of the best debut albums of all time! This album features the song "Dazed and Confused", which is among the very few pre-Sabbath metal songs. As a cover, it does a LOT of justice!!! Robert Plant's vocals are incredible on the album, and so are all of the dynamics. Led Zeppelin reigned in the 1970's and the late 1960's, and this album makes it very clear as to why that happened. :)

8/10. I love 1980's synth pop. In general, this album is a great listen. It's not Depeche Mode or Tears for Fears, but it's still really cool! It has several interesting tracks on it. However, it's too long for its style, in my opinion. :)

6/10. I apologize in advance for pissing off the hip-hop-head community, but this album really isn't my thing. The concept is really cool, and so were its lyrics, but its instrumentation really bored me. It was also fairly long.

10/10. Yippee!!! Another metal album!!! :) No, that wasn't sarcasm. I'm a huge fan of metal music. I'm also a fan of Megadeth. Megadeth are total metal titans!!! They are among the big four thrash metal bands!!! :) There is crazy guitar work and drumming on this album. It's wickedly great!!! :) This album isn't as good as Rust in Peace, but it's still incredibly fantastic!!! :) The most disappointing thing about this album is its length; it's too short!!! The runtime of the non-deluxe version of this album is under 40 minutes. Albums this great should be much longer!!! :)

Since I was assigned the incredible album "Deep Purple in Rock" yesterday during a nine-day streak of four-star and five-star albums, I expected to be assigned a shite album today. Luckily, that didn't happen. Singer-songwriter folk music is very hit-or-miss for me. For some reason, I don't really vibe with Leonard Cohen the same way that I enjoy Bob Dylan. I first listened to this album a few months ago, and completely forgot that I did so. :)

9/10. Great vibes. This album was released 32 years before I was born, yet it sounds very nostalgic to me. Great lyrics. This is a really significant album. I'm not a fan of Bruce Springsteen, but this album is really dope! :)

100/10. What a splendid way to kick off this December!!! I'm a huge fan of Metallica. They are my third-favourite band after TOOL, and Dream Theater. They got me into metal music!!! :) I'm on day 184 in this album generator. Metallica appears four times in this generator. I've been anxiously waiting for a Metallica album to appear in this generator. Today, it FINALLY happened!!! Who needs folksy 1960's duds (not all folksy 1960's albums are duds, FYI) when you have METALLICA??? :) Listening to this album is an exhilarating experience. Symphony can add some gorgeous embellishments to the already amazing nature of Metallica's music. This is also a live album. I love the feeling of being at a concert!!! :) This album was released eight years before I was born, so I wasn't able to be at the actual concert, which is a shame. Whatever, I get to comfortably enjoy it now!!!!! :) I'd also like to talk about S&M2. The orchestra for the album was directed by Edwin Outwater, who used to be the conductor at my local symphony orchestra, who I saw perform live on a weekly basis. I may have even met him at some point. I remember being so proud of him after hearing his name called out at the end of the song "The Day That Never Comes". :) Anyway, LONG LIVE METALLICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

The lyrics could be inspirational, and they could also be about a freaking frog with leprosy finding a bag of Skittles aboard the Titanic; what matters most to me is the music. The music just doesn't cut it for me. Some tracks feature an annoying trap beat, while others feature lackluster R&B instrumentation. It bores me. I'd rather listen to Queen Latifah. Björk's Medulla shouldn't have been removed from the 1,001-album compilation to make room for this album. Sorry.

9/10. From the ages of 9 to 14, I was in a choir, and from the ages of 4 or 5 to 12, I did dance classes. Every winter, my local symphony orchestra would do Yuletide Spectacular shows. Every year, the choir in which I was would perform there, while every few years, the second dance school in which I was would perform there. This album brought back the fond memories of hanging out with my friends, and performing onstage. It also brought back the bad memories of having to get to rehearsals through the snow, and wearing strapped leotards in the middle of the bloody winter in Canada. To the tunes of Christmas music, I've also performed The Nutcracker and The Snowman with the dance school in which I was. One of the funnest dances was performing as a Polichinelle. Being a Polichinelle in a Yuletide spectacular was very fun!!!!! :) Those days aren't too far beyond me, since I'm only 17 years old now. Anyway, the music is nice. I like the arrangements. It sounds like a lot of fun 1960's music. Also, fuck Phil Spector.

7.5/10. It's a short album that spans only 28 minutes and 19 seconds, according to Spotify. However, it's a very important album. It's by the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, Elvis Presley. It starts off with Blue Suede Shoes, and features classics like I Got a Woman and Tutti Frutti. This is the first 1950's album that I've ever heard, unless I am mistaken. It's a very pleasant listen, and it's nice seeing how far the world of rock music has gone over the course of nearly seven decades. Also, I could've sworn that I've been assigned this album on another day, even though my statistics say otherwise. :)

10/10. Over the course of only five tracks, and a little over an hour, Fela Kuti, The Afrika '70, and Ginger Baker put on a spellbinding performance. The drummer of the legendary 1960's psychedelic rock super-group Cream joined forces with the man who single-handedly invented Afrobeat to create a stunning live album full of energy. When I first learned about the existence of this album, I got really excited, and got a strong desire to listen to the album (for some reason, I didn't actually get around to listening to it for the first time until several months later). I LOVE mental drumming and funky saxophone-playing, and this album has just that. I love it when people from different parts of the world join forces in the name of music, and produce an epic masterpiece like this! After Fela Kuti introduces its first track, Let's Start, the crew just bursts into some really cool music. It reminded me of Latin jazz. I love Latin jazz. Of course, we're talking about Afrobeat, and not Latin jazz, but still. Gosh, how many instruments were involved in this? There is such a broad sound in this! Black Man's Cry does feel a little bit too long at some points, but the music is epic. I'm not a Black man, so I don't know how well that track represents a Black man's cry, but it's a great and jazzy track!!! :) Ye Ye De Smell is an incredibly energetic track. The drumming, though. Oh, the drumming!!! It's awesome!!! :) Egbe Mi O is another really dope track which features a lot of cool jamming!!! :) The album ends with an epic drumming solo! This is somewhat unrelated, but on my 17th birthday, I decided to play the Ginger Baker and Tony Allen drum solo track on the loudspeakers, and my Mama asked me to turn it off, but I didn't. I still find it funny.

7.5/10. The inclusions of Sonic Youth in the "1,001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" compilation do seem excessive. That being said, this may be my favourite of the bunch. I'm not the biggest fan of noise rock, but this is a rather nice listen!!! :) Also, the cover art is adorable, and I wouldn't want to hurt that plushie's feelings!!! I have a plush duck named Macgaga, and he means the world to me!!! :)

10/10. The story behind Joy Division is fairly depressing. The lyrics are very sad. The mood is sad. However, everything has been constructed in such a fantastic way. When I first listened to this album, I didn't get it. I felt like Joy Division are overrated. However, upon listening to them more, I eventually realized that they are an incredible band! What an awesome band! They paved the way for so many post-punk bands!!! Take my bloody five stars!!! :)

I plan on listening to it tomorrow, or next year! :) POST-LISTENING NOTES: Happy New Year! It's now 2025. I had a good time this new year's day. I spent it with my Mama. I watched The Office for the first time (2 episodes), and I found it really funny!!! Wait...this is not a diary, this is a music review...*ahem*...HOLY SHIT!!!!! This album is stunning!!! What an incredible farewell album. Johnny Cash's interpretations of other songs sheds an entirely new light on them, and I'm amazed!!! The cover of Hurt is definitely a stand-out here. The Downward Spiral is my favourite album in the generator, so I'm somewhat biased, but still. This is a heartbreaking farewell album from the man who may just be the single most important country musician to ever live. Even I, a non-country-fan, love it, and so should you. What an utter shame that this album was removed from later editions of the 1,001 Albums in lieu of that Kid Rock album, or that LTJ Bukem (who the hell even is that?) album.

8/10. Over the past few days, I've been getting into Peter Gabriel's music, and this album felt very reminiscent of it. I enjoyed it very much. I'm feeling a 4/5, but I have a feeling inside me that I'm going to regret not giving it a 5/5 later on. Perhaps I will regret giving it a 5/5 instead of a 4/5. Whatever, 5/5 it is. It's New Years Day, and I'm exhausted.

3/10. Gosh, I feel really bad for saying this. I really like jazz, but this album is just not for me. While reading this album's reviews, I kept thinking to myself "Did we even listen to the same album at all?". This is only the 217th album that the generator gave me, but I've already listened to over 1,000 (all of the albums from the 2016 edition of the album compilation, and almost all of the albums per se), and this is the only jazz album that I recall actually disliking. I basically made the character a mutant who is built up of Maynard James Keenan's head, Adam Jones' left-arm, Justin Chancellor's right arm, Paul D'Amour's torso, Danny Carey's left (or right) leg, and Mike Portnoy's right (or left) leg. Yes, I'm a fan of TOOL and Dream Theater. Anyway, this character had an obsession with the song Hot for Teacher. I constantly referenced that song. Eventually, the plagiarized version of my game was taken down. Perhaps they were sick and tired of my mutant character being so obsessed with Hot for Teacher. Regardless, Hot for Teacher is still a banger. That song now constantly reminds me of my mutant character. Also, the drum solo at the beginning of the song is awesome!!! :)

9/10. I saw an interesting video about this album's title track which claimed that the title track causes computers, and even local computers, to crash. Interesting facts aside, this album features a lot of bops. I love its strong anti-racism message. :)

8/10. Morrissey puts the "arse" in the word "arsenal", but it's really a fine album. It starts out really nicely!!! :)

When one thinks of a Metallica album, they likely think about "Master of Puppets". This album is undoubtedly one of the most important albums in metal music. This album features a plethora of incredible guitar work, bass work, drumming, vocals, and lyricism. It has been a source of inspiration for both those who love metal music, and for those who don't. While I personally prefer Metallica's album "Ride the Lightning", I believe that "Master of Puppets" is the better album, in objective terms. The music could make one want simultaneously bang their heads while being in awe of the sheer musicianship. The lyrics explore various topics, and James Hetfield sung them a really raw manner. In my opinion, most notable aspect of this album is Cliff Burton's bass-playing. Sadly, this was the last Metallica album to feature Cliff Burton, for he passed away in a tour bus accident only a few albums after this album's release.

100/10. Oh, my...this will be exceptionally painful to review. Today is 23 July, 2025. Yesterday was 22 July, 2025. Yesterday, the metal died. 22 July, 2025 started off oddly. I overslept, and I woke up past noon. The air in my bedroom was dry, and I only gained the ability to speak until around one hour after waking up. For breakfast, I had my usual serving of scrambled eggs on sourdough bread, and a cup of black coffee. After enjoying my breakfast, I decided to go watch the Eurovision Song Contest 1999. Over the course of several weeks, I've been re-watching every single Eurovision Song Contest in chronological order, because I plan on ranking every single Eurovision song from my favourite one, to my least-favourite one. I started with the first competition from 1956, and every day, I would watch the proceeding competition. Yesterday, it was my turn to watch the 1999 competition. So far, my favourite entry is the Slovakian entry from 1994 (Nekonečná pieseň - Tublatanka). Anyway, I watched the performances of all of the entries from 1999's Eurovision Song Contest. During interval acts, I usually multitask, since I usually find them a bit boring on their own. I decided to open Reddit, and get my daily dose of news. I wanted to check out some of the latest news regarding Black Sabbath, which is one of my favourite bands. Immediately, I read something that I believe was along the lines of "In honour of Ozzy Osbourne, what are your favourite songs of his?". I was a bit confused. A couple of weeks prior, Ozzy Osbourne got honoured at a final concert. Then, I saw another post about Ozzy Osbourne's memory. I thought to myself: "He's not dead, is he?". Then, I saw an absolutely dreadful headline. It's a headline that I hoped that I would never have to read. "Ozzy Osbourne, dead at 76". In that moment, I immediately began screaming. Then, the screaming turned into sobbing. It felt as if my heart sank to the floor. My soul hurt. Every centimetre in my body was shaking. I was numb. I felt broken. I sobbed like a baby. I locked the doors to my room. In a manic state of mind, I messaged some of my friends. I couldn't type coherently. I was in a massive state of shock. Some of my friends were concerned for me because of how horribly I was taking the news of Ozzy Osbourne's passing. I have never met Ozzy Osbourne. However, he meant a lot to me. I am a huge fan of his music. Black Sabbath is one of my absolute favourite bands. I love Ozzy Osbourne more than I love my own father. Ozzy Osbourne is one of my absolute favourite solo artists. To me, and to tens/hundreds of millions of people, Ozzy Osbourne is a hero, a legend, an idol, and the one and only Prince of Darkness. He is the face of heavy metal music. Nobody was ever like him. Nobody is like him. Nobody will ever be like him. There was only one Ozzy Osbourne, and there will only ever be one Ozzy Osbourne. I wanted to believe that Ozzy Osbourne would never die. I knew that he was not in good health, but I wanted to believe that he would truly never die. At the beginning of the year, I pleaded for him to survive 2025. When Garth Hudson died, and while I was mourning his death, one of my friends told me that this was a sign that Ozzy Osbourne would survive 2025. I prayed that his words would age well. I thought to myself: "If somebody must die in 2025, please do not let it be Ozzy Osbourne". Ozzy Osbourne died before 2026. I am extremely grateful that I got to watch Ozzy Osbourne get inducted into the "Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame". I wanted to watch "Back to the Beginning", but I didn't want to spend $30 on tickets to watch the event live. Anyway, the fact that that event happened is a true miracle. Initially, I lied to my Mama about why I was crying when she asked me why I was crying so hard. I told her that one of my online games accidentally got deleted. She then tried to make me feel better, and said something along the following lines: "It's okay. You can bring it back, can't you? Worse things can get deleted. For example, people die.". Then, I thought to myself: "Oh, crud.". This was a case of somebody dying. Eventually, Mama read the news of Ozzy Osbourne's death herself, and she asked me if I heard the news. Then, I confessed to her that I had been lying about the reason why I cried. Luckily, she wasn't upset with me. I ate some food to stop feeling so hungry, but my stomach was still shaking, and it felt empty. I felt empty. I spent the day listening to Ozzy Osbourne's music, and sobbing. Even when one of my peers performed an Ozzy Osbourne impression, I began crying. I don't know if I've ever cried as many times in a single day before. Perhaps the last time I've cried this much was when I was a baby. I've lost count of how many times I've sobbed today. I'm mad at the world for letting Ozzy Osbourne go. I'm also grateful that the world gave him a chance at all. Everything reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne. No death has ever impacted me the way that Ozzy Osbourne's death has. Ozzy Osbourne conquered music. Ozzy Osbourne even conquered reality television. Now, the world feels silent. It feels like everybody, from die-hard Black Sabbath fans, to people who only knew Ozzy Osbourne for being a long-haired man who once bit the head off of a bat. I do not feel okay with the fact that the world is just going to carry on without Ozzy Osbourne. I'm apparently supposed to accept that an enigmatic force that's been blazing for half a century is now gone. If Bob Dylan, Phil Collins, or Peter Gabriel die before the year ends, I might have an actual heart attack. The effect that Ozzy Osbourne's death has on the world of metal music is like the effect that Michael Jackson's death had on the world of pop music. I suppose that now, the Prince of Darkness has been crowned the King of Darkness. I'm glad that I was able to learn about him, and listen to his music while he was still alive. Ronnie James Dio died when I was still a toddler. Wow...I am still in so much shock right now. Sorry for writing numerous paragraphs in mourning. Anyway, I have yet to talk about the music in Black Sabbath's self-titled album. Black Sabbath's debut album is truly exceptional, and has gone down in history as one of the greatest, and most important albums of all time. Black Sabbath single-handedly invented metal music. Without this album, there would be no Metallica, Iron Maiden, or Judas Priest. I am eternally grateful for this album's existence. The bell sounds at the beginning of the title track probably make everybody get chills. Absolutely groundbreaking. All 39 minutes and 23 seconds of this masterpiece deserve the utmost praise. Every song is brilliant. Every note feels like it's in the right place. Long live metal music. Thank you, Ozzy Osbourne. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Thank you. Mulțumesc. Merci.
