Enjoyed Changes, can take or leave the rest of the album. RIP Ozzy, but this was mostly forgettable to me.
I’m not destined to be a Talking Heads fan. Whatever it is, it doesn’t do it for me.
I only like this in the context of background noise for when I’m working. Otherwise what is this? Not for me.
Italian crooner meets rock and roll.
Why am I only getting punk albums 😩
Weird, but I don’t hate it.
Solid album. Knew 2 songs
Thought I didn’t like grunge. Glad this album proved me wrong.
More Brit rock. Maybe some elvis Costello influence. Forgettable.
I like this album a lot more than the first king Crimson.
Fine, kind of boring. But I was back after a long day of travel and it would’ve taken a lot more than rock ballads to peak my interest.
Solid. Ice Cube has great flow.
Only miss was Enjoy the Silence. I get what they were doing, but I didn’t like it.
Very smooth. Gorgeous vocals.
Proto alt-rock. Don’t really like this, but it isn’t bad bad as straight punk.
Despite coming out in 2018, this music sounds like the background of a Starbucks in 2008.
Good god yall! It’s James Brown. This was fine.
Every song sounds like the backing track to a filler scene in Dawson’s Creek where the camera pans around to the characters in their various past times, separately.
Spotify recommended Oasis. This is like low rent Oasis.
Founding father of jazz for a reason. Infinitely listenable.
Bruce’s response to 9/11. That fact puts these songs into context and I suppose justifies picking this later album and not one of his seminal works. The Boss doesn’t miss here, I enjoyed these songs.
It’s Bob Dylan. Idk, it’s fine.
Banger, would listen to this again.
An album all about the sexy, seedy underbelly of London and the rejection of the uptight suburbs.
A lot of synths. Idk, some of the songs are catchy and some are too new wave for me.
Great flow, love the horns. Common’s an OG for a reason. The lyrics are poetic and will improve upon another listen when I can really focus on them.
I find the talking heads to be boring.
The man was a hit factory.
Long and boring. No memorable songs.
Why? This was so boring I couldn’t get thru a single song without skipping to the next one. This might appeal as background music but I can sit around and pay attention to these songs.
Damn you Willie Nelson, you made me cry on a plane.
Ah yes, the Twilight soundtrack. This is a very good album.
I had one Santana album growing up and it wasn’t this one. I liked that one a lot. This one is just as groovy.
Maybe they invented the hardcore punk scene in DC but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
Based on the first track, I thought I would hate this. But, I ended up liking it.
Another punk album, you say? What percent of this list is punk bands? The revolutionary aspect of this album is that they give up on songs when they run out of lyrics or get tired of a riff. What mavericks.
Can’t say I follow rap beef, but there were some good songs on here.
YEEEEEEOWWW!! Middle school me is rejoicing.
Got bored half way thru and didn’t finish.
He spent so much time asking for and then drinking a glass of water. Get to the songs already! When he was singing, it was good.
All of Elvis Costello’s music sounds the same to me. I enjoyed it, though.
I really didn’t connect with this album.
Vibey. Good background music while I work.
An assault on my ears, but make it French
Album so good I didn’t even realize it was over and Spotify was playing random Bob Marley music.
Leather is a vibe. Tori Amos provided the soundtrack to the 90s.
Spotify; if you like Bob Dylan, you’ll like this album.
Me: ok. Bob Dylan’s good. Proceeds to listen to yet another punk album.
Of the 60 albums I’ve listened to, I think 25 have been punk. Pretty tired of it.
Weird and every song sounded essentially the same. Maybe in a different mood I would like this but as it is, I can tolerate it.
Randy Newman is his own thing and I can get down with it.
I think this is the final sign that I need to sit down and watch this movie.
All hits, no whammies. Such a soulful voice.
Peak Bob Dylan. Some really fun songs on this album.
Ska is ska is ska. Idk it’s fine and not bad to listen to.
Krautrock should stay in its jar at the back of the fridge to be forgotten about.
The singer’s voice is a vibe. Every song sounds the same and he sounds like he’s falling asleep on every track, but I still liked it and would listen again.
I got an album by the Smiths 2 days ago and I think I prefer that to this, but some classics on here.
I feel transported into one of the better Dawson’s Creek episodes.
Lotta hits. Can’t go too wrong with the Stones.
The 1001 albums book didn’t seem to know why it was recommending this album. It was fine, but it didn’t make me a Bee Gees fanatic.
He’s going to bring you lyrics every time.
I…I didn’t hate this. What’s happening to me??? *melts*
Maybe the band was angry at each other and the world, but that doesn’t mean I have to find the music interesting.
I’m more of a Wuthering Heights gal.
“Whatever” sums up my feelings toward this album.
Finished the album and immediately had to restart and listen again.
So groovy I had to stop what I was doing so I could dance.
A little repetitive, but the songs are infectious and a great backdrop to keep me pumped during a sewing project.
Ok, so this guy tried to attack his band mates with an axe, was locked up for 6 months, then made this album. Honestly, I don’t know what to think. The tone of the album certainly reflects his state of mind.
Who needs intelligible lyrics? Overrated.
Wow, this was depressing in a way that only country music can be.
If we really were one nation under a groove, a lot of our problems would be solved.
This is like the dictionary definition of 70s rock.
The music would be good, but it’s undercut by dissonance and noise.
Smooth but also kind of weird. Easy to lie down and chill with this album.
This guy is clearly really talented, but the album was lost on me.
Enjoyed Ambulance but this album was forgettable.
90s female singer songwriter but make it vaguely country. This was fine. The titular song was maybe the worst. Repetitive and boring.
Green Day got me through grad school and I will forever be grateful to them. This album is great.
According to 1001 albums you should listen to, this album single handedly showed up emo music for the “emotionally illiterate, self indulgent, angst ridden garbage” it is. Strong words about an entire genre of music. The blurb also mentions that Arcade Fire dabbled in Krautrock before landing on indie rock and boy am I glad they didn’t stick with their original plan.
Amazing soul album. Never heard of this guy, but isn’t that the point of this endeavor? He’s gained a fan in me.
This album had such a chokehold on the top 40 radio stations.
Solid addition to the 70s folk rock canon.
W in T actual F was this? There’s a genre of music I like to call “microwave music” because it sounds like a microwave made it. This sounds like all the kitchen appliances came together to form a band.
This is good, but I kept thinking of the Now You Has Jazz song from High Society every time Duke introduced a number.
Drum and bass 👎
Drum and bass with gorgeous vocals 👍
Blues rock meets psychedelic rock.
This sounded like he heard cars driving by honking their horns and he sampled the Doppler effect.
My God that was unpleasant
The songs alternate between powerful lyrics about his struggles and his prowess in bed. So. Much. Detail. (I’m looking at you One More Chance)
The first Taylor album I ever actually liked! Ah, summers on Cape Cod.
Gotta love those Starbucks lovers.
Sounds like 90s rap. Solid flow, good beats.
New wave idk. Hurts my head
This was easy to listen to
It’s a vibe. Very mellow.
Going to see the movie 21 was the first time I stayed out past midnight in high school and what a wild time that was. I almost fell asleep in the movie.
I hesitate to give a Christmas album five stars just because it’s holiday music and I’m a curmudgeon. Also it’s Phil Spector.
That being said, this album is Christmas classic after classic and it was very nice to listen to on a Christmas morning.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Bob Dylan doing his thing.
Thrash metal isn’t it for me. Sorry if I’m a poser, but I prefer Nu metal.
David Bowie is hit or miss for me and this was more of a miss.
This was fine but I’m not sure I’d ever revisit it.
Arcade Fire is so uninteresting. I don’t know why they merit more than one spot on this list.
After the first song I thought it would be like Black Sabbath and I was excited, but then it turned into generic 70s rock.
Every time I see a Bob Dylan album I think of Kevin Kline in French Kiss pronouncing his name as Bub Deelahn. Otherwise, all of his music sounds the same to me.
This was weird but I was into it
Too many of the songs devolved into dissonant noise
I love Irish folk music and basically any fusion of folk music with another genre works for me.
Peaches is a clear standout but the rest of the album is good considering it is yet another punk band.
Sorry to my man Van Morrison but this don’t work for me
This was too long. After a promising start the songs petered out and I lost interest
Yes, of course, obviously.
The first song did not set me up to like this album, but it improved as it went along. Not sure that “Nirvana covered 3 songs” is a good reason to include it on the list.
Is this a joke? This is like the progenitor of Kyle Mooney’s album The Real Me. And yet, it worked for me.
I went to Graceland and it was fine. But this album is great!
