FUN FACT: apparently I'm distantly related to the lead singer Jazzie B so that's cool No fucking way my uncle (?) was responsible for making back to life wtf. Im related to a legend The rapping is kind of terrible but i gotta support the family so I LOVE THIS ALBUM JAZZIE B IS THE GOAT RAHHHHHHG

not to be that friend thats too woke, but reading the reviews misgendering her kind of hurts me consider that this album is so obviously heavily centered around trans identity. the singings fine, yall overreacting like crazy. pretty good songwriter too however the production to be a bit underwhelming. still pretty good tho
album filtering tf outta yall. this is what i thought black midi sounded like before i started listening to them
funky, just as i expected it to be not to sound like an old man but modern musicians should go back to fucking around with panning effects again. why don't we experimental with stereo sound anymore. this album has so many parts in it where a single instrument is panned to one ear and like background vocal is panned to the other side. it weird aid the in the groove and rhythm of the music its kind of fun.
- one track in and i already hate his voice. he sounds so bored it doesn't match the music at all - this sucks i hate this - ten tracks in and finally said not one but two slurs back to back!!!!!!!!!!! - despite the use of slurs, this my favorite tracks, its so fucking unhinged. wish the album kept up this energy - Theres a bonus track on the spotify release and I actively celebrately when I realized i didn't need to listen to it. this is the shit i'd imagine 63 year geezer barry would put on the juke box at the ye old pub and wild out to. Too bad I am 18 year old canadian who is incapable of understanding most of the british centered humor on this album. I would turn a blind to that if the music wasn't ass, ts suck so much holy shit.

i fw with chamber pop so im already excited. big music genre descriptor has me worried that this is gonna start sounding like imagine dragon or some other bs arena pop-rock anthem band/songs/album - first two tracks had crazy sound selection, felt like it was really pushing the boundries of indie rock; unlike anything i've ever heard very good songs -track 3 is what i expecting from this record. not nearly as experimental but still cool regardless -track 4 fs feels like a continuation of the dense and experimental sounds from first two "neighborhood tracks". i can definitley hear where the big music genre desprictor came from on rym, and surprisingly im not hating it as much as I though I was. its not super corny and overproduced. actually id argue its overproduced in a good way if that makes any sense cool shit - i liked track 5 i just wasn't paying attention tbh - track 6: i like this one, not as experimental but still very enjoyable - track 7: the arena chant at the beginning has me worried, this might the albums first miss. yeah i don't really like how triumphant this track is trying to be. the lyriscm isn't strong enough to justify this significantly less interesting production on this track. this is what i was worrying that this album would sound like. oh no stomp and holler, stop please god no, ik for a fact this album already did ts, but that transition was not subtle at alll - track 8: production sounds a bit washed out in weird, definitley intentionally. i like the song, but it still kind of feels like a poor attempt at making something perhaps a bit psychedelic of sorts idk why i writing like this - track 9: idk about this one, its just a bit off to me idk - track 10: intro vocals remind me of bjork a bit for "millennial stomp and holler", i didn't hate this as much as i thought i would. the experimentation on the first few track is cool and for sure interesting to listen to, but it sounds very overproduced. The songs without the crazy dense production struggle to be as engaging as the as for mentioned first few track. Still very enjoyable but flawed
i know al green because he was referenced in that one kanye song track 1: good but i'll probably not return to it much if i i'm being honest. for some reason this tracks album art on spotify has slightly different color grading than the rest of the tracks on this album and it really confusing me. track 2: i felt this one idk how to explain it but i felt it track 7: this smooth as fuck goddamn. not that other tracks are bad, but i wish they were all smooth and subdue like this one. however i feel like that would get old if im being honest. i like how this one stands out a bit in this tracklist track 8: surprised to find only one song that sampled this on whosampled.com, that intro so sample worthy I don't listen to a lot of soul, so I don't have much frame of reference on whether or not this is "good" soul, however sound-wise this is great. Al's vocals are wonderful, production feels a little dated, but that's expected from an album from the 70s. But those smoother tracks like How Can You Mend a Broken Heart and Judy are timeless (and my favorites on the album).
predicting it now, im not gonna like this one track one - this sounds awful on streaming. i know the original vinyl version is probably better. the panning is so off and the vocal are way too loud reading up on their history as group is way more interesting than album itself. these mfs freaky asl. fuck you john nasty ass pos its alright i guess, however i will likely never return to this album
been on my listening list for a minute now, glad i finally have an excuse to listen - so far i've enjoyed every track with nico on lead vocals - venus in fur is fucking crazy. weird asf, can't imagine how it must've sounded in the 60s when it first came out - the guitar solos on run run run is sick af. they sound awful in a good way idk how to explain it - love the way the tempo on heroin swells to correspond with the lyriscm. whenever lou reed references taking shot of heroin the beat speeds up, thats sick af. this a song is perfect holy shit i feel 1960s (somewhat) mainstream weird doesn't really translate well to 2020s weird. This album still hold up today surprisingly. Heroin induced noise rock bullshit fuck yes. Some tracks are for sure more experimental than other, but even the more contemporary tracks manage to still be engaging despite them significant less interesting than the wack ass shit like Heroin and Venus In Fur. Lou Reed is a crazy good song writer, and Nico offers soothing break from the noisy chaos that is this record. 9/10
Erm this the stranger thing album! Frick yea. Real talk im intrigued - track one is really good but its mad overplayed - side A was good but i don't have much to say about it -side b is far more interesting and weird Overall, a very good 80s progressive pop record. You best of both worlds: Side A got bangers and Side B is super weird and whimsical.
idk why the rating so low. this is great sober and probably life changing high. Me and the hatman finna get turnt to this shit i jus gotta pop 12 benedryls first. this album is for realer geekers ONLY
First Listen: 06/07/2023 First album I got on here that I've already heard before! Idk it cool instrumental album. kind of goes in one ear and out the other, but like in a good way. It's peak background music
more songs need to be in the key of life god damn this is good
its alr ig idk. not really my thing
they really made a symphonic prog rock cover of a Russian suite from 1874, and all the music on it sounds like SNES music (it came out in 1971 pre-dating the SNES by like almost two decades). Truly a one of a kind of a kind experience that I'll probably not want to experience if I'm being entirely honest. Cool album though. The synths sound really dated and silly, but in my opinion it makes this record more charming. I'm not going to get much replay value out of this for me unfortunately.
dad music. not really for me but i can see the appeal
all ik about the yeah yeah yeahs, is that evilgiane sampled them on polo perks classic mixtape punk goes drill. big fan of the crazy ass vocals on here. Makes a lot of these tracks a whole lot more interesting. me likey
he giving me that real goon stare
the ambient stuff on here is a whole lot more interesting than the jazz if I'm being honest. cool concept for an album, curious of what the film would've been like if it was a real film.
its good ig
good. im not a big fan of old hip hop. im too newgen for ts. imma go back to listening to nettspend
kind of just feels like the same song 10 times
hes cool i like his music. i'll probably have most of his discography listened to before this website gives me another one his albums
album filtering tf outta yall. this is what i thought black midi sounded like before i started listening to them
cool blend of indie rock and weird electronic shit. very well executed and feels kind of unique, at least it does to me. theres probably other albums that do this exact thing, but this is my first time experiencing it. i fw it
i've only heard their first album, Funeral, and it seems like they've traded the strange experimentation for consistency. every track is the same level of okay, and for that its definitely more boring than their first for me. still alright though, I've heard way worse albums on this site
probably gonna grow on me a lot. i like it a lot
hell yea
not really my thing i can see the appeal though
i dont like it
usually don't enjoy old rock and roll music very much, but liked this surprisingly. ill never listen it to this again, but i enjoyed it.
its music
https://youtu.be/68KWlxzZS_I?si=judZAAQO-yOjExe8
i was worried this was gonna be another basic run of the mill 80s hard rock album. It kind of is, the but the little bits of funk thrown in here keeps it interesting and refreshing.
good ig
i always hate getting these 80s hard rock albums but i almost always enjoy them. badass af album and pretty fun, although i'll probably never listen to it again
cool
whoa a recentish album she made royals and i think thats pretty cool
mane ion wanna listen to this shit this album is making realize how awesome nu-metal is i wish this was nu-metal. if linkin park made this album would be eating it up do not want to meet the person who favorite track on this album is don't tread on me. NO FUCKING WAY THIS IS THE ORIGIN FOR THE GADSEN WTF LMAOOOO. they created a monster thats so bad holy shit i feel so bad for them (after more research they became the anthem for the gadsen and it was just a coincidence, crazy)
made the creamiest mac and cheese i've had in my entire life while listening to this i fw this more than i thought i would
cool and creative album sonically, crazy that this from the 70s. dudes got really weird vocals but I don't mind them. sick ass album art too. what a hidden gem
Fuck yeeea
why do ppl give af about them getting back together
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
No way they got me listening to 2 hour long album good if you have a lot of free time
probably not for me. don't really get the appeal
i love the nu metal scratches wish there were more of that on here. still great though enjoyed this way more than i was initially expecting to
loved their previous album, expecting to love this one too. While I enjoyed Nico's presence on their last album, she felt pretty out of place on the album considering the album mostly dominated by the Velvet Underground rock songs. So listening to the Velvet Underground on their own is gonna be interesting to hear. somehow less accessible than their previous work. This is such boundary pushing music, its so crazy experimental and out there. Like their last album it still holds up surprisingly well in a modern context. This with some 60s heroin is something that i wish i could've experience, however i was born in 2006 and have been scared of drugs ever since I greened out on like 20mg weed edible.
veteran by jpegmafia, track 16
some really cool ideas however it overstays its welcome if im being honest. I was done with this album by track 8. crazy that there is an extended version that doubles the track list to 34 songs. Jealous of the fans of this album because they got a lot of music to enjoy. unfortunately im not one of them
DEFINITLEY not my thing. nothing bad about it, i just dont really like country/folk if i'm being honest. i liked california stars though that track was kind of nice
Album kind of reminds me of the ratchet and clank ost for some reason Its not that bad. Im not super familiar with breakbeat music so if the generally considered to be bad breakbeat, then consider intrigued by more highly regarded breakbeat albums As for this one: There's some interesting and creative production on here, however most of the album feels a little drab. Nothing horrible though.
i forgot he made that song sexy af omg kanye sampled distant lover thats so cool 454 SAMPLED JUST TO KEEP YOU SASTISFIED! PLEASE LISTEN TO 4 REAL BY 454 ITS SOO GOOOOOOOOD
cool ig Feels like something that should be right up my alley. However this isnt really doing much for me idk why
whenever i listen to reggae all I think about is that one time my white uncle to me and my cousins on drive in his beaten up bush car around the forest trails at my grandpas cottage. He pressed play on the cd player in the car and it was just some random reggae comp cd. So we were just barreling down trails in the wood at like 100km/h while blasting bob marley or something like that idk. albums cool ig, but i don't get much out of it. reggae not really my thing, but i can see the appeal
FIRST LISTEN: 06/13/2023 thought it was kind of overrated on first listen. but i still enjoyed it. my main exposure to jazz rap is from more modern artists like The Alchemist, Madlib, MF Doom, etc. who tend to sample jazz for their beats. This album feel like Jazz rap in the literal sense. No instrumentals are bad, but they're all really minimal, resulting in a lot of beats on the album sounding very samey to me. The rapping is pretty good I guess. I wish i enjoyed this album more if im being honest, but i don't really get it tbh
i do not want to listen to this shit. i almost gotta concussion today, i lowkey wish i was hospitalized so i didn't have to listen to this nvm they made the duck dynasty theme this actually the best album ever albums not even that bad, i just don't like out of 80s/70s hard rock album. i get like nothing out of them, they all sound the same to me. Unfortunately I'm not a 50+ balding white dad wielding a spatula in one hand, a budlight in the other manning a grill at family barbeque and actually a bisexual he/they black kid sitting in a dorm at a liberal arts school. if i was i would probably love this album. this shit aint made for me idk what to say
my mom had this cd in her collection, its been on my listening list for a minute now. my friend was in my room looking at my cd collection which mostly were given to me from my parents old collection. He was looking and said "Your parents probably conceived you to one of these album". Really funny and gross comment and worst part is, the more I listen to their CDs from their collections its starting to seem likely that he was right. skin crawlingly disgusting to think about and its lowkey kind of ruining the music for me ignoring that this album is so unbelievably smooth. Soul/RNB is at its best when it smooth as hell in my opinion and this album proves me right. He did a call pussy a "Dark World" at one point in the album, so it definitely far from perfect, however its still an enjoyable listening experience. Its a shame I put listening to this CD sooner. im gonna give a 5/5 on this website but it like more of a 4.4987/5 in my opinion and im not gonna elaborate
good
french people and silly synths. a combination that has never done me dirty
idk why this feels a lot more laid back then most glam rock i've listened. i like it, its a good vibe
its queen ofc its good
this is longest 47 minutes i've ever felt in my life omg make it end it might be just because i hate this guys voice but i feel like its a little too loud in the mix
the guy who this 1001 album book has excellent taste in trip-hop this album makes me want to relisten to low end theory by a tribe called quest. idk why but i feel like I'll appreciate it more after listening to this despite them entirely unrelated
YES GOOD PROG ROCK (i think i havent listened to this yet) they made that one song from jojo and i like that song a lot love how silly symphonic prog sounds. i've never listened to symphonic prog album that doesn't sound like 16-bit era video game music
really cool blend of trip-hop and rock, although it does seem to lose a bit of its creativity in the second half. but the first half is killer, really cool production
Found out that a stan getz song is on the whiplash soundtrack. That song isn't on this album but its still cool i fucking lovvee whiplash I also love bossa nova what a great genre of music
my dad would love this album. i like probably for that reason alone, it reminds me of him.
ts sorta borring
one off from being my 69th album, what missed opportunity three hours long, this better be the best album i've ever heard i tired asf i had two long ass lectures today and an assignment due tonight and i wanna nap sb, but i started this three hour album first and i hate listening to album in multiple sessions so now i stuck listening to this while doing an assignment i dont want to do. this sucks its not even bad, i just know that it gonna go on like this for another two hours and thats fucking dreadful to think about. I kind of hate how some of the tracks make fun of other genres like jazz and punk, ik its a joke but it feels so lame and unfunny. i gave up, im taking a break i forgot i have to finish this fucccccccccckkk im not even halfway through the second disk. The songs with the girl singing sound like that new cindy lee album if it sucked. Listen to Diamond Jubilee if you want to listen to a good long ass album. Papa was Rodeo feels like a bad dean blunt and johanne robertson song at the end. i don't like this album finally on the last disk yippeeee. i finished my assignment before i finished this album im gonna kms make it fucking end theres still 11 songs left holy shit i cant do it anymore it went to go brush my teeth and i ACCIDENTLY forgot to pause the album a missed like four tracks whoops the albums alright i suppose
Mr grieves was the name of the pedophille gym teacher at my school m that song caught me off guard i didnt see the title
i liked paul simons self title album so interested in what he sounds like with good ol garfunkel btw art garfunkel might be top 5 names ever, his parents cooked with that name choice
i fw how theatrical the vocals which is weird cuz i usually hate that this is cool but i'll probably never return to it ever again. this kind of gives me a supertramp vibe for some reason. i think that's why i like it
still don't really like old hip-hop too much, but this i don't mind. Its fun, i see the appeal. enjoyable listen
ew
some interesting experiments on here, but most tracks are misses.
didn't like the first u2 album i listened to so im not very excited to listen to this one just like the other u2 album i listened to, it went in one ear and out the other
i like the cat on the cover a lot
I finally have a punk album that i like
this looks cool i like the album art a lot ts rocks i love it. great atmosphere and production, definitely gonna return to this someday. its exactly what i would want from a 80s gothic rock record
one track being good is typically a bad sign for an album but when that one song is half your albums run time, its different. first track is def a must hear, you can skip the rest
hated the last album i heard from him. this is definitely more enjoyable i hate to say it but this is kind of good
ew. this guy really just plagiarized a bunch of south African music. bro you could've just sampled it wtf. no royalties or credit given to the original musicians too. knowing the context behind this album is making it hard for me to enjoy. Ignoring it the music is alright i guess. (source: https://www.timeslive.co.za/sunday-times/lifestyle/2021-03-28-criminal-record-how-malcolm-mcclaren-ripped-off-sa-musicians/ )
hell yeah i love the roots not that the production on Things Fall Apart is bad, its very good actually, but I kind of prefer this sound over the cleaner jazz instrumentals. Its a lot more creative and out there, borderline experimental and because of that it kind of appeals to me more. production kind of reminds me of Pharrell idk how to explain. might be my favorite roots album ngl
Minawa is peak, such a beautiful song. Probably my favorite jazz album i gotten from this site Slightly unrelated but hugh was sampled on Riot! by earl sweatshirt and knowing that makes me like this album more despite the song that was sampled not being on this album
this looks fire af big fan of the spotify campus videos on most of the songs on this album. its just jeru old ass dancing in front of a blue background. its not even format for a cellphone screen aspect ratio its just a 16:9 video at the center of the screen with black filling the blank space. the beat on My Mind Sample samples the same song as sparkdala by quasimoto, but it turns out there's like a million different songs that sample that one song, interesting. dj premieres beats are grimy as hell and deru spits on every track. good shit usually i don't like old hip-hop but this appeals to me i like it a lot.
this kinda sucks ngl
pretty good ig. i understand why my mom would own a compilation cd of their best songs for an album from the 70s the synths actually don't feel very dated. there some really cool modern-ish synth design on here its really impressive tbh.
DAVID BOWIE YIPPEEEE hes such a legend rip fr stay kind of sounds like song off the new geordie greep album (sry for making the comparisson)
funk is one of those genre i think about and assume is trash but then i actually listen to it and it's peak. i'm really feeling this album idk why this is so good the groove on this album is crazy. i have know when if I'll ever relisten to this but this first listen was very enjoyable. one of the best samba albums i've ever heard
its alright all these weak ass idm albums that this websites been giving me have made be realize how good aphex twin is. i like the marimba sounding synth thing on science friction a lot the way it bounces around my ears is very enjoyable not gonna lie
THEY SMOKED A WHAT!?!? (ik its old british slang shutup)
hell yes Flavour Flav kind of sounds like a more chilled out westside gunn I get why my dad loves this album. RIP Radio Raheem
Im actually loving this lowkey This so sweet and pleasent i love it
my mom love them, idk they're kind of whatever. not bad though
New greep album shitty theatrical bs like this obsolete
didn't know there were EPs where on the 1001 albums list i mean its alright
really good idk why the ratings for this are so low this website slacker rock is such a good genre. feel like more rock focused cindy lee album (particularly Diamond Jubilee, listen to that album its really good) really does feel like old rock radio station late at night as small child (so like early 2010s for me. if that makes you feel old its cuz you are)
wild honey pie is an all time classic, peak beatles
really wanted to like this a really silly and charming 90s hip-hop album ruined by having songs that are way too long. no song on here has to be 4+ minutes. almost every song on here drags on for wayyy too long
british white guy making reggae and blues ends up being a white nationalist ok bro (dw yall he dated a black women) omg lorax reference!? ignoring controversy the music itself is whatever
happy belated 30th
this nigga so boring
probably one of the best alt dance records i've heard this is album does get kind of tiring by the end tho ngl
gotta love good 80s rock
typical queen album. pretty good but i feel like they have better albums
gman lookin ass. look up nick cave he looks fucking scary as shit wth. i thought it was just lighting in some in his spotify pfp but he look freaky even when well lit. bro look like the boss from incredibles.
I'll be honest, i was falling in and out of sleep while listening but i really liked what i heard.
dg reference!?!?! little richard by death grips is like their worst song fuck that song. this album is the opposite its good. his energy is genuinely one of kind.
not my thing its okay i suppose
cover art is so bad get this shuttershock bs outta my face good music tho
ts kind of weird tbh i wasnt expecting it. you could argue its overproduced but i like it sounds interesting
its okay broke my stream of 8 great albums in a row damn
i can say this with confidence: there is no way this is anyone favorite album. this the most nothing, whatever ass album i've ever heard
genre tags on rym look very me-core it is very me-core. excellent blend old pop and breakbeats / house. i really like this album. Like a less french dots and loops by stereolab (idk what that means it just reminds me of that album for whatever reason)
i dont get it. its alright ig
i liked magdalene, but tbh wasn't too crazy about it and haven't returned to it since I first listened to it year ago. I hope I like this album more because I lowkey wanna like her music, eusexua looking to be a good ass album based on those new singles she's been dropping. acra was heavily involved with this albums production ooohh. green flag im interested this is got that early 2010s electropop stank to it sometimes. definitely enjoyed it more than Magdalene
mbv been on my listening list for so long now, i already know im gonna love this album. first few tracks kind of sucked but the rest was great. love shoegaze its a great genre, i wish more people could appreciate it
hearing randy newman saying the n word is so surreal, like i knew his solo music was crazy offensive but its still weird actually hearing it racism but its funny and kind of nuanced. def didnt need to say slurs but whatever. guys he mad you got a friend in me he can do no wrong
i lowkey love these guys i might be a fan tbh
i like it
crazy energy for a 60s rock album, i can see how influential this must've been. i dont know if i like this album or not if im being real
erm... where's the flutes????/? 40 track long testament to the talent of outkast. each member can stand on their own and make captivating hour+ long albums. This album is such a feat and its fucking crazy to listen too. I don't love every songs but its still and impressive body of work nonetheless. Speakerboxxx is super good, feels like standard outkast album. The love below is so fucking crazy, i wish andre 3000 would make another experimental soul funk album its so damn good. Hey Ya still gives me chills to this day, 11/10 song. saw a review on here that says "very bad, black music lost its way a long time ago" fucking crazy. i feel like ppl are really harsh on rap album on this site tbh. the reviews on this album in general are strange when comparing them to rym. ig these are just regular music listener takes rather than chronically online music snobs. either way THIS being the fall of black music is a crazy take. that guy would disintegrate if he ever heard a hi-c song (not that hi-c is fall of black music fucking love hi-c, praying High the Lon35tarr gets added to the 1001 albums in the next edition).
country music is good i just dont want to listen to it
unrelated but im too dedicated to this 1001 album journey. you ever just get home from a long ass of doing work with very little breaks and you want to sleep but then you remember you have to listen to a Brian Wilson because a website told you to. im lowkey a weak minded individual its cute i supposed. its a fine body of work, i like the acapella stuff its so jolly. never listening to this every again tho. type of album that you to be miserable and insufferable to not like. im might be miserable and insufferable because i lowkey hate some songs on this album
a rym genre tag on this is "Honky Tonk". this is gonna suck shit so bad im not excited to listen to this girl get a divorce im beggin you
why does he have analogue horror eyes beatles make good music wow
tried listening to this a while ago and gave up a few tracks in. I just didn't like how dated it sound to me at the time. After giving it a full listen, I'm conflicted. I like it however, I don't really get the hype. Just seems like a really odd electronic rock album from the 70s. I can't really think of anything similar too it, its really one of kind, but i kind of don't care to hear anything else like it. I also don't get how this ambient, like I get ambient doesn't always mean subtle and atmospheric, it more has to do with timbre/texture or whatever. I don't hear it, I feel like I've heard far more textured and detailed compositions on other ambient projects. I guess i can give it pass because its like one of the first ambient albums. ok last few tracks are absolutely ambient, but the rest i dont get it i hope this grows on me because this is something i should like
this guy again feel bad for the guy who made this book, they're clearly a huge elvis costello fan and like everyone on this site is sick of hearing him. this is definitely my favorite elvis costello album i've heard so far. either that or I'm starting to warm up to him
it alright
you might think he loves you for your money but i know what he really loves you for its your brand new leopard skin pillbox hat
obnoxiously 80s, i love it
i think im starting to like punk music now lowkey
no ion wanna listen to arcade fire one of their better albums. was not expecting to enjoy this.
i dont like u2 fuck i dont wanna listen to this u2 is so boring i dont get the appeal. all of these songs are too long goddamn
i love bossa nova sm bro think he jschlatt
ooh miles davis yeah its cool. he wasn't lying
his name is stevland? what kinda name is stevland. this stevland wonder album is good, just as i expected it to be
heard this was crime album and was hoping it would be the 1960s white people equivalent to drill music. im sorrowfully disappointed to say its not really like that pretty whatever, but some songs are crazy tho. on the track life in prison he wishes for death and it lowkey caught be off guard. country music is crazy sometimes
First Listen: July 18 2023 I LOVE GORILLAZ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH great debut, clint eastwood and 19-20000 are classic. def one of their weaker albums tho, demon days is far better
First Listen: July 20 2020 OMG PEAK WTF. god-tier album i don't have to say anything. back when kanye glaze was understandable
the outro of the beast has one of the worst Asian impersonations i've ever heard. this is a 90s album I thought they were supposed to be good at being racist back then pretty good ig
idk why i was surprised that zack fox was involved with this. not only are they friends but the sillier track are so zack fox coded, they feel like they're written by him. thundercat is for sure one of the best bassist in recent memory and this album is a testament to that. stupid asl but still very enjoyable
pretty good, but for a rock opera the vocals are pretty underwhelming. still very enjoyable
nettspend geeked on the cover i actually really fw this, i dont get the hate. its so pleasant. does goes on for a little longer than i would appreciate but still good a 90s pop-rock record i can get behind it.
this been on my list for a minute excited to check it out really like the synths on here. yeah they're pretty dated, egregiously 80s, but they add a lot of pretty texture to the songs, especially on the first 4 tracks. Love the jazzier cuts on here too. great album def gonna get some mileage out of this
i feel like it could be more abrasive. still good tho
kinda whatever. i just dont like this style of rock it doesn't do much for me i guess
one of my moms favorite. love the songs i've heard from this album Everybody Wants to Rule the World is actually indisputably one the best songs ever. I don't even know if there's a point in saying that because its so obvious. peak 80s pop for sure
love house music but listening to full house album is lowkey torture. music like this was not supposed to be consumed this way. still very good regardless
thom yorke was involved in this cool I dont have much to say about this i like it though On horses in my dreams it sounds like she keeps saying that she pooped herself thats funny
the second blur I've listen to and honestly this doesn't really appeal to me. it fine. tbf the other one I listened to was their newest album The Ballad of Darren and don't think really like that album too much, including myself. I think im just mad that it doesn't sound like Gorillaz which should've been obvious considering they're completely different musical projects. maybe once i accept that I'll enjoy blur's music more. this is way too damn long too omg its the song from that one scene in baby driver wow
what a coincidence (they def programmed this in that's cute) strangely well produced and very cheery. might be peak Christmas music, very enjoyable
so chill i love it. really beautifully arranged. never heard of this band before but I'm glad I got to listen to them.
gonna give this a 3 but its more of a 3.5 tbc hard rock vocals over folk rock is a cool experiment. like most hard rock i get the appeal but it doesn't really do much for me. ngl the more folk influenced tracks were my favorites on this album
i love wacky prog rock. def gonna relisten to this in the near future
First neil young album i really enjoyed. I get the hype now
Would be a banger vg ost. Chicos Groove and One Too Many Mornings is so killer
i actually enjoyed this a bit. its really inoffensive and a very pleasant listen. however I've definitely heard better country.
way too groovy. strange because I usually like very dated 80s pop, but this one didn't appeal to me. This isn't bad, I just really don't like super flamboyant theatric 80s pop. This album is doing too much and it kind of annoys me.
its a beatles album idk why but this album makes me think about volcanic bird enemy and the voiced concern by lil ugly mane i'm too crazy about the beatles, but this is still good tho.
its fine. i think Morrisseys energy repels me from enjoying anything attached to his name. idk im just bored by this album
really cool album. at best very eclectic and at worst its horny glam rock.
i wanna see that new bob dylan biopic. why does timothee chalamet actually look like bob dylan incredible song writing here.
bro said "y'all chill my 3rd wife who's also my cousin is 15 not 13" great classic rock and roll album but wtf was wrong this guy genuinely. even more impressive when you consider this was live, must've be legendary to be in the crowd
unlike any other britpop album I've heard. this barely even sounds like britpop to me and that's a good thing if i'm being honest very interesting sound-wise. glam rock vocals over these atmospheric psych-rock instrumentals. i really fw this, I haven't heard many album like this. I would totally give this a relisten at some point
classic generational vocals and undeniably timeless album. no one will ever do it like him. great album but I feel like he has other album with more hits on it, a lot of these songs I've never heard of before. Not this album is bad for that, but if you have an album where every other track is iconic, than it's infinitely more impressive.
just kept getting better as it went along. i love a good chill jazz album
didnt like the first talking heads album I heard. i get this one. The groove on this album is far more creative and out there, which makes for a more interesting listening experience. That solo on the first track is really cool i like it a lot. That being said I'm still a bit underwhelmed by the overall project. Its an okay album. I still really don't understand what so great about this band. This is best album I've heard from though for sure
he kinda looks like my grandpa except younger, balder, and also is a rapist its a silly 2000s party rap album. i like it but you def don't need to hear before you die.
finally, peak i lowkey skipped songs on this because i've already heard them a million times. this album is too iconic. whats more interesting are the songs that I haven't heard before. They're pretty good, especially Baby Be Mine.
dolly parton lowkey freaks me out why does she look like that its fine. i tried to pretend that she was adrianne lenker, but then i thought about it and she actually sounds nothing like her beyond the fact that they both make country music (adrianne lenker is more of a singer-song writer folk artist but you know what i mean, right?)
no way this is the same band that made staying alive, wtf some cool songs on here but this was an absolute chore to listen to
fucking awesome. best disco album ever and probably one the best instrumental hip-hop album ever
funky, just as i expected it to be not to sound like an old man but modern musicians should go back to fucking around with panning effects again. why don't we experimental with stereo sound anymore. this album has so many parts in it where a single instrument is panned to one ear and like background vocal is panned to the other side. it weird aid the in the groove and rhythm of the music its kind of fun.
i usually dont like punk but i can get down with this. his voice is a little grading ngl but I fw the messaging on here
WHY'D YOU LET HER SUCK YUR COCCCKKKKKKKK??????? lowkey the best part on this album why'd she say it like that some good tracks but overall a little uninteresting. feel like i need more time with this album to fully appreciate it because I don't necessarily hate what I'm hearing on this album. last track and guilt are really good, especially the last song, love how spiteful it is.
they were singing a beatles song in that vine!??! (mr postman) by far the most boring beatles album ive heard so far
holy shit i finally actually liked something associated with Morrissey wtf this a good album wow
probably my favorite country album I've ever heard exclusively because it barely sounds like country to me
i like it, but i don't see what so crazy about it. enjoyable but i don't think its a must listen tbh the concept for the album is awesome. super ahead of its time for 1998. actually really impressive because this does not feel like music recorded on a probably shitty laptop in the late 90s. actually listening to that with that in mind makes me like this album a whole lot more tbh, ignore the beginning of this review this album is cool af
just what i'd want out of rock and roll album. really good energy and rock? idk its a good album thats all that matters
still don't really like this era of hip-hop, but this is a really fun album. really creative production i fw it
if it isn't psychedelic i don't wanna hear it. really impressed by this album
Live in the album title is always a green flag as a certified hard rock hater, even i gotta admit this album is badass af
title is crazy. other barry adamson album i heard was kinda ass but still cool conceptually. hope this isn't the same. slightly less bad but still kind of chore to listen to
really dreamy I like it
its alright i like it listened to this quietly in the background while editing a school project. it kept me from giving up on the assignment so i guess thats a testament to its quality.
First Listen: July 5 2023 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS god i fucking love bjork ive been waiting to get this album. def a weaker bjork album there's some classics on here fs. "spongebob? --tf wrong wit you" ï'm õn thät gööd kûsh äñd älcöhól "NIGGA⁉️🥷🥷"
theres like a million different albums just like this. its fine though, never returning to this.
just another 90s pop album interesting songwriting aside it feels kind of bland.
cool love the shitty mic they recorded this on. bro peaking the mic every other word, really adds to the indie/garage band vibe
i like this type of shit but you this is far from a must-hear album. its also like way too long, but that goes for most house albums
yay jimi hendrix absolute psych-rock legend, nobody does it like him
liked more than i expected. exact type of energy i want out of a punk record
looks cool kind of disappointed that this isn't a rad fem hardcore punk album, but this is still cool. very noisy and industrial, love it
smooth, just how i like it. very pleasant listen, would return to this. ok the funky tracks are a little cheesy i don't like them that much. but the soul stuff hell yeah thats good
its about time i gave this a listen this like the avengers of jazz getting together. I had no clue john coltrane was on this. Excellent line up of players and an excellent jazz, i see why this is such a highly acclaimed album
the psych rock stuff is cool, but anything that strays away from that kind of sucks still an enjoyable listen though
cool but some (most if im being honest) feel really dragged out every day should be a holiday is a banger though i love those weird ass synths
what a strange album. its good but im not too crazy about it Its pretty hit or miss. if its in you is terrible, might be one of the most dreadful songs i've heard in a while
raw af
i thought they were a one hit wonder band, but no. this is heat
nooo no more u2 i dont like u2 stop it fuck off bono slightly more enjoyable than most u2 albums but i still dont like it. thank god the last track isn't available on streaming so i could get done with this sooner
MAYONAISE ON A ESCALATOR! ITS GOIN UPSTAIRS SO SEE YA LATER! just another hard rock album. pretty badass but also pretty insubstantial outside of that. there's like only two songs on here i ever like to hear again (obvious one is back in black, genuinely an amazing song deserving of all of its praise)
this that typa shit #blackouttuesday niggas listen to really uninteresting and vapid, although there are some great song, but its just far too on the nose for me to really feel moved by it at all. disappointing because this is all produced by inflo and I love their work with Little Simz. I was expecting something far more interesting
its michael jackson, its good obviously. ngl i didn't remember this album sounding so dated. not thats a bad thing its charming actually. but use of drum machines is so obvious and the weird cheap synth instruments sound so bad and fake. what up with the weird industrial clap sound on the way you make me feel, it feels so out of place but i love it. some of these instrumentals give me like 16-bit era vgm vibe. makes sense considering he worked on the music in sonic the hedgehog 3 (fun fact i guess)
stg if this is that we are family song imma be pissed off. i lowkey hate that song pretty solid disco and soul, but nothing too interesting tbh. i still don't like we are family. never liked that song, i already think its repetitive and annoying, and then i find out that its 8 MINUTES. fuck that, overrated asl. everything else is good tho
at several points throughout this album i thought he was gonna start singing sweet caroline for some reason sounds pretty but overall couldn't really grab my attention. if only it were shorter
queen album. it good i fw it wow its good what a surprise, wait queen makes good music i didn;t know that wtf wow this is so crazy wowowowowow they haven't missed imo
feels like quintessential old white people music. no way they started yodeling thats crazy (it was kinda hard though i like it)
FUN FACT: apparently I'm distantly related to the lead singer Jazzie B so that's cool No fucking way my uncle (?) was responsible for making back to life wtf. Im related to a legend The rapping is kind of terrible but i gotta support the family so I LOVE THIS ALBUM JAZZIE B IS THE GOAT RAHHHHHHG
Sounds nothing like the other eric clapton album i heard, therefore its pretty good
not to be that friend thats too woke, but reading the reviews misgendering her kind of hurts me consider that this album is so obviously heavily centered around trans identity. the singings fine, yall overreacting like crazy. pretty good songwriter too however the production to be a bit underwhelming. still pretty good tho
ginger went crazy
sober beatles. about lame as the cover forget that girl is fire though
3.9 on rym, 2.9 on here, that's always a good sign I was listening to at the drive-in early today and this is basically the same thing. fucking awesome, if you dont fw music like this you're lowkey boring af
George clinton always confused me like wasnt he a president Power to the pussy
its alr. cool back story i kind of hate this site calls anything thats not traditionally western or european sounding it gets called "world music". thats not a genre this genre has a name... probably idk actually know what to call this. dessert blue ig thats what they call it.
so bad that I circled around to loving it. this is so ass but in a cool way. like if came out now it'd be lame and try-hard but because it was 70s this feels like it would be the 70s equivalent of showing a Victorian era child a 100 gecs song. honestly 100 gecs is feels like a pretty apt comparison, its surreal and doesn't take itself too seriously. feels almost as if its a exaggerated satire of modern music at the time (particularly psychedelic music from like the 60s/70s). all im saying is that some of yall are weak. that being said, i'll never relisten to this unless i want piss off my friends next time they put me on aux
best blur album i've heard so far. very enjoyable
pretty crazy. idk its just really good rock, i like it a lot. definitley will return to this, love the solos especially on the title track
artwork is just ash baby grown up 1st track is great, rest is whatever
there little glimpses of Eminem's brilliant songwriting and story telling, but too much of this album is so try-hard and boring for me to give a fuck. Like I feel like this isn't even that offensive and yet this album at several moment acknowledges how twisted and deranged it is. relax bud. Other than the intense misogyny, I feel this hasn't even aged that bad subject matter wise (maybe i missed something idk i likely did) I feel like I can get this exact thing from early tyler, the creator and have it be far more creative and provocative (mainly because he was obviously very inspired by this era of Eminem). Although I haven't listen to his early albums in a very long time, so they might equally suck ass
it pretty good
holy shit they made the song from paranorman. my little sister was really scared of the song little ghost so when we got to the credits of that movie she'd lose her shit for some reason. she must been scared of mediocre music, idk i wasn't feeling this one. not bad just whatever
round 4 thought he was growing on me but this is like his most whatever album. couple great songs but most of it is very forgettable
First Listen: Jan 28 2023 the alt cover for the this album is crazy. jimi is goated great album
First Listen: Feb 14 2023 one of my favorite old-school rap albums. makes me so happy
definitely a departure from fever to tell (the only other yeah yeah yeah album I've heard). Its cool though, still very enjoyable. feels very 2010s and it came out in 2009 so technically its ahead of its time no fucking way they made that song that remixed in dance til' your dead remix thing from 2018 thats crazy (heads will roll)
loved the shit out of this. jazz rock might be the best thing ever. First half is so good and then it starts to trail off a bit tbh. Great album regardless, its like a really high 8/10 like 8.99999/10
lounge-y indie pop with subtle electronic influences is my SHIT man. love this! I've heard lovefool a million times, never knew they made it, such a great song. the trip-hop rendition of iron man by black sabbath came out of no where. so strange but I love it. i think part of the reason i loved this album as much as i did was because spring is starting and it was sunny and 12 degree celius, which is lowkey cold asl but its okay because its better than -5 degrees with snow everywhere god i hate winter so much. this album matched the sheer joy and whimsy i was experiencing today and for that im thankful
its okay. a little bit underwhelming
dude he's jeff buckleys dad thats so cool cool folk album, like the production a lot and similar to his son he got a nice voice
awesome af
heavy af. makes me want to be 16 wear eyeliner and flip off my parents and do kickflips and steal some dweebs lunch money
if kanye dropped momma's boyfriend i'd forgive for everything (not actually, he sampled moving out) why do some people hate this. i will admit side A is way better than B
First Listen: May 03 2023 I liked it on my first listen but I wasn't really seeing the hype. I hope I like it more on relisten yeah this pretty good idk what 17 year old me didn't see in this
⠗⠁⠽ ⠊ ⠋⠺ ⠽⠕⠥⠗ ⠍⠥⠎⠊⠉ ⠓⠑⠁⠧⠽ ⠞⠺⠊⠝
first half is beautiful, rest is a bit underwhelming
smooth and nice, but doesn't leave much of an impression
HELLL YEAAAHHH i love terrible shit like this, nu metal is the shit. all in the family has aged so badly but still love it. fred durst and johnathon davis should kiss i think that would be really cool. this is like most badass shit ever lets be so fr
just another psych rock record, it's fine. there's a couple great tracks near the end though
lowkey i dont get the hype. its cool tho, i just need to sit with it more, theres some great songs on here
who tf is paul mccartney bro 😭😂✌🏾 theres like two good songs on here idk
fast car is so peak. idk how i've never heard it before, it literally has a billion streams this might be my favorite singer songwriter album, i love the songwriting on this so much. great album, idk how i've never heard of her. Side a is crazy good, side b is a bit weaker
Its another blur album, its good but parklife is so much better just listen to that instead
the jesus and mary chain is a hard ass name for a shoegaze band. Too bad this is just another alt rock album, albeit a good one. why is this even listed as shoegaze??? This album is good but their previous album psychocandy is so much better and far more interesting. This such a downgrade
Its radiohead so of course its good. I'd just listen to kid a instead personally
my mom loves them so much don't know how i've never checked them out until this point (i actually listened to lz3 and completely forgot whoops) my mom knows ball her taste is so good stairway to heaven is only 8 minutes? swear to god old people act like stairway to heaven is the longest song ever, wait til they discover swans
ugh. yk what she made shake it off and i like that song so maybe this will be great. maybe this will be the beginning of my swiftie arc???? i gave it honest chance and its not that bad. just really inoffensive and at worst sleep inducing. but there are quite a few songs on here that I really liked. soft chamber-y pop always appeals to me i fw that shit. I would say people should listen to this because I feel like people just hate on her without giving her a honest chance, but this didn't really entice me. check it out anyways though i can see the appeal for this. she's not bad people just glaze her too much. BTW: if you one of those "kanye > taylor" people just know that you're just as annoying as die-hard swifties. and thats coming from someone who used to be a kanye glazer (USED TO BE I WANNA MAKE THAT VERY CLEAR)
it alr ig. i got excited when i saw the swamp rock tag i thought shit was gonna sound like an alligator on jet ski with sick ass sunglasses. idk what that would sound but that's what i envisioned. im disappointed that it didn't live up to that
ts better be funny or im gonna be pissed tom waits more like im tom waiting for this to end amirite im two tracks in and im already sick of it, why does this have to one and half hours. this the type shit madlib would sample at the end of a doom or quasimoto song, but its goes on for an hour. this just listening to your drunk uncle yap but theres jazz band accompanying him, and like he's mostly spewing bullshit but there randomly he says something really insightful im don't hate the lyricism (idk if its lyricism he's just yapping), this album just so arduous i can't stand it.
funky folk pop? you know what hell yeah this is cool af. really enjoyed this
the other album i heard from them Heroes to Zeros was probably the most boring album i've ever heard this is slightly less boring. i actually liked it. love the trip-hop influences that stuff always appeals to me
just another hard rock album borrringngggggg
Who tf are these people why do they have 18mil monthly listeners and why do i have song of theirs liked?? I feel so out of touch when i discover popular bands that i've never heard of Yeah this is pretty great. I can see why they're so popular apparently. Jangle pop is always a green flag for me (except for when its the smith i dont get them)
just gets worse as it goes on. the electric prunes is such a terrible band name its so fucking stupid just listen to the first and third tracks they're are the only ones worth hearing. the songs are either cool but the mix is so muddy and weird that it actively annoys me, or the just songs sucks and is annoying
oh hell yeah absolutely lovely and raw af. i like the interludes too good ass album
all rock should sound like this. love it
god i wish this was a sonic youth album
its good but not really my thing. nothing here really caught my attention, kinda boring
its like tavern and video game dessert music a the same time. i kind of like it idk. what a coincidence Bert Jansch plays guitar and sings on this, I just listened to his self titled album yesterday. this way more interesting than that album, enjoyed this way more
I swear every hard rock album is the same You've heard the one song on this album worth hearing
damon albarn!? was expect this to another boring non-gorillaz damon albarn off-shoot band but its actually cool.
its definitely an aerosmith album
remember this guy from that black thought and danger mouse album. fucking love that album and the song he's on on it. curious to hear his solo material really refreshing while still feeling like a throwback to 60s/70s psych soul and rock. good shit. danger mouse and inflo produced this whole album omg i like it so much more that I know that
these two never do me dirty
was talking to someone tdy and they referred to green day among other rock bands (i.e. radiohead, blur) from this era as loser rock, and i couldn't have said it better myself i love loser rock
cover is pissing me off dont look at me like that Borring ass album
didn't know i needed prog funk until i heard this. cool album
first track was really good but was also the longest 3 minutes of my life this is not a good sign. im not ready for an hour and half of this i actually was ready. really liked all of the cheesy soulful soft rock songs on here. this is a very impressive and charming body of work. wasn't bored by this at all. would love to get this on vinyl one day
First Listen: Aug 22 2023 aw hell yeah. a good radiohead album i love to see it
its nothing mind blowing but still really enjoyable. really like how lo-fi this is. the shitty mix give this an interesting vibe. feel like i listening to this live at a small underground show.
yeah obv
not really my thing sorry irish people
I'll probably never return to this but i still enjoyed it. its cool that's something this foreign, at least to my canadian ass, is on this list mostly comprised of albums from western and European musicians. I know damn well that this is the first (and probably the last) Senegalese album that myself and people most the people on this website have ever heard. this worth hearing, expand your horizons idk dude he works on the black panther soundtrack wtf thats so cool. too bad it was for the shitty sequel but idc its still cool
First Listen: 27 Mar 2023 his voice is unhuman bro is an angel im so deadass. RIP
this townn ain big enuff fo the both of us i like the first two tracks a lot but the rest is whatever
second half is very good but that first half is a slog. just skip the first 4 songs and then its like a 7/10 at best
the same song 15 times but its frank sinatra so it okay i guess. great singer but man this was boring ngl
Stupid ass album love it
no
erm this isnt bossanova what the freak????///?? really good but doolittle is far superior in comparison. still a very strong album tho. that second half is killer
i dont get this band
love the crazy textures on this album this some real psych shit. love it whenever the whip out the metal sheets and start wiggling it (?) i think thats whats making that weird ass sound in the background of most songs idk who cares it sounds cool. i looked it up one of the bands members was blowing into a jug to make those noise. absolutely brilliant
we wouldn't have gotten money trees by kendrick lamar without this album existing so for that reason alone i love this album
if this is pornography then im gooning to this
he sounds like will smith clean rapping in that one family guy cutaway gag. kind of terrible but like in a cool way. i admire the creativity with some of these instrumentals. he spitting but god he's terrible rapper, the flow is god awful. i'd rather just hear him do just straight up political commentary instead tbh this has aged very very well tbh
the best country music barely even sounds like country
love trip-hop so much goated genre fr
oh yeeaah tjis gon be good Am i tripping or is star a subtle interpolation of every nigga is a star by boris gardiner theres no fucking way brooo cool album, i like this typa shit a lot. does drag a little bit tho
kind of whatever country music but i like their band name a lot so im forcing myself to like this
she emersons on my lake til i palmer just three guy fucking around with the worst 70s synths ever for like 40 minutes ts so ass. i enjoyed the other elp album (Pictures at an Exhibition) but it was mostly ironically i didn't need more of this
First Listen: Jan 02 2023 good kid maad city always stuck with me more but still pretty goated
fucking awesome
Industrial music is good bro. This is crazy for the 80s i think idk actually i wasnt alive back then
theres like two or three different death grips samples on here thats so cool loved the first half, not so much the rest but its still pretty good.
definitely unique. there's moments on this album that sound so crazy weird that it almost tricks into liking it, but i actually don't really get it if im being honest. imma say this isn't a must-hear but i can see myself in the future finally figuring this album out and absolutely loving it, because there are a really cool glimmer of brilliant surreal artistry. the whole atmosphere of sentimental journey is absolutely insane. i love the manic energy of street waves. all the weird electronic background are so weird and uneasy. but i'd be lying if i said it sounded good all throughout. I don't hate it but I feel like I've heard albums likely influenced by this one that do that weird off-kilter noisy shit far better. Bands like sprain (specifically their last album) and maybe early black midi come to mind (probably bad comparisons i haven't listened to them in a bit) do this type of thing far better like 40 or so years later.
delightful
listening to any popular album from post-2000s on spotify 9 times out of ten is like the worst experience every. theres two versions of this album on here, neither have the correct track listing, both have just random bs in the middle of said tracklist. why tf is what is life and the backing track version on the same disk wtf. i spent like 5 minutes rearranging my queue to match the og tracklist im so annoyed fuck. espicially with such a long album too like why make it longer. idgaf how good this album or any album for that matter i dont need a 3 hour extended deluxe version with a bunch of bs demos fuck offffff similar to yesterdays album, this is delightful. like a beatles album minus the type of beatles songs i don't care for (particularly the more folky experimental songs)
its a little cheesy but i like. fagen is a very unfortunate last name i know he had a rough time growing up
lord have mercy, that cover wow. straight up got jumpscared me when this album revealed itself ofc hes a pedophile damn. idk im not feeling this one tbh
now that i've listened and really enjoyed it to this i can officially call myself annoying without looking like a poser
not bad but every song overstay its welcome. why is almost every song like 6 minutes long??? amazing cover art tho
me when my hb and i are trying to come up with our new fursonas i like this a lot. personally i fw the vocals a lot it his voice is very soothing, this was a very pleasant listen.
marginally better than their other albums. i still dont get it tho
I dont get hate this is raw af. i can never hate music like this, fucking radical (im tired of calling things awesome i struggling to think of lame synonyms)
a sign of a good artist is when 6 out of their top 10 most streamed songs on spotify are the same song song. drop the pressure far the best on this album how'd blow up so much? theres some cool stuff on here but its overall pretty unremarkable
lowkey might be my fav jimi album. so bizarre this some real psych shit
angsty and gay fuck yeah
soul || soul but boring. I kind of like it but it doesnt belong on this list thats for sure
RIP brian wilson this my first beach boy. its pretty good.
the shreds on here fucking godly holy shit
its another beatles album. Pretty front loaded if you ask me
god i wish this was on spotify. absolutely excellent
has a very different vibe from there other work but its still great. considering how avant garde and crazy their other work is its cool that they would release a more accessible and pleasing to the ear. proves that they are indeed great musicians. you can't write them off as talentless and pretentious like how most experimental bands get treated by general audiences.
its fine. just like good standard country nothing special tho
very inquisitive album. idk what's going on either
boring. lowkey one of their worst i don't get it
wydm this band has two songs with over a billion streams. theres no fucking way. ok i recognize one of the songs, but i've never heard sex on fire its just more mid alt rock get this bs outta here. can we ban rock artists from singing about 16-17 years olds. idc about the context im just sick of hearing it
noticeable lack of negroes in this band but i digress. just by looking at the song titles i already like this. here's quote that i found on their bands wikipedia that i really like: "Initially, the band had two running ideas for band names: Nazipenis and Turbonegro. They were advised that a band named Nazipenis would never sell records, so they chose Turbonegro as a more consumer-friendly choice." unfortunately underwhelming </3
groovy af. i like it
im GRATEFUL to be done listening to this. way too damn long, im not enough of a grateful dead fan to actually want to sit through hour plus long live album from them where most of it seems like meandering improv. not for me
not bad, not special either
its king crimson of course is awesome. both larks tongues in aspic songs are so fucking crazy
i wanted to hate on this so bad but its so whimsical and joyous i cant do it.
i hate hard rock so much im so sick of it. the more bluesy tracks are incredible tho, wish the whole album was like that
kind of forced myself to like their other album. idk this one is def better but i really dont get this band, it just feels really uninteresting and boring. not a fan
Haven't heard a bad album from this band. this seems crazy 1988, this would've been my shit if i was alive back then. its my shit now I loved listening to this.
its fine. theres something about this band that irrationally pisses me off I don't what it is
ngl i barely paid attention to this while listen, but liked what i heard
ah hell naw what were my parents doing listening to this freaky ass shit. i literally remember the day this guy died exclusively because my parents spent half the day searching the house for their prince comp cd just so they could listen to it to honor his passing ts hard tho i get the hype. i like the fucked up looking penis 1 on the cover a lot
OUGGHHHHGGHHHHHHHHHH
oh hell no. everytime i go to record store and see this album i always force my friends to listen frownland just to see their reaction. now actually gotta listen to the whole thing lowkey terrible but the story behind this album is so fascinating that circle around to kind of liking it. The band isn't shit, the songs are supposed to sound like this this is just how they're composed. The band was like pretty much tortured in the process of making. they like survived off a couple soy beans and were beat or trapped in a barrel if they fucked up their rehearsal its so fucked up. Its an insane listen and everyone should experience it once there really nothing like it (for better or for worse)
Good background music but def not a must hear album
i was prepped to be bored out of my mind by this. just another wannabe beatles 1960s psych rock album. but then they started singing about robitussin. these guys would've loved future had they been kicking these days pretty good, whenever they're not doing country stuff it feels like a rougher, more lofi (might just be the rip i listened to on youtube tho) beatles. i liked it a whole lot more than i expected to
FUCK 12
The worst thing abt this site is waking up and finding out you gotta listen to some bs like this
First Listen: Apr 05 2025 listened to this right after i got darklands a couple months ago and was blown away by it. this is an incredible noise rock album much far better than darklands.
way more enjoyable than other white stripes album i heard on here. def feels a bit overrated tho
I usually like stuff like this but i find this a tad underwhelming
i actually really liked the first three tracks. I really thought I was gonna enjoy this but then soda pop started playing and it snapped me back to reality. its very of its time and cheesy, but I don't mind it. still pretty mediocre, and at best, very iconic
This is so kanye. I know this album is produced by him but like omg its so apparent. very very good should checked this out sooner
Che dropped rest in bass today its so good that everything in comparison sounds like ass to me. Its okay just another old pop album. Nothing notable on here at all
Dont have too much to say. I like it, very dark love the atmostphere on here
ooh old ass krautrock. i still dont fully understand what krautrock but theres a lot cool albums that I like that are considered to be krautrock love the sound design on here its so crazy. very ahead of its time
very very very very pretty album. i likey
Some good stuff on here but its clear that black metal still had to evolve a bit more to become what it is today (? Idk what im talking about here Translation: the album is mid)
rip ozzy osbourne A whole lot weaker than paranoid but still worth checking out
This a fake album i stg. There smth about it idk how to explain it. Cool ig. Its doing everything and nothing at the same time. Feels like the beatles if they were millelinials and liked going to overpriced coffee shops in gentrified neighborhoods.
I'm really trying to enjoy this but her vocals are annoying the shit out of me. First two tracks are cool ig but the rest is boring asf Ngl i kind of adjusted to her voice a bit near the end, but im highkey not interested giving the album a second chance.
fucking sick if you cant get down to shit like you lowkey boring as fuck
type album that imma performatively act like i enjoy to impress white shordies
First Listen: Feb 02 2023 METRO BOOMIN REFERENCE!?!?!?!?? i remember finding a bulk of this album very underwhelming. The first and last tracks were incredible, but overall its very overrated. there are many far better pink floyd albums it feels like a really good prog rock song interrupted by a 17 minute snoozefest. the middle is so overrated
ooh i like portishead i haven't heard this yet idk how they got darker than dummy. dummy is like the most nocturnal shit ever, this is just sounds downright evil. i like it lot. great atmosphere. I do enjoy dummy a bit more though
i don't trust any blue rock album made after the 80s. idk why but its a red flag for me it's good. it has its moments but it pretty derivative. so much so that i cannot fathom how it could possibly be a must hear album. someone on here said its "Blues for people who are afraid of black people". i get why this album feels off to me now, couldn't agree more
didn't really understand their previous album but it definitely trained my ears for this one. I enjoyed like a little more Its an interesting listen, there's some cool shit on here. the vocalist on here is fucking nuts, I've heard very few vocalists as manic he is its crazy.
yet another classic from good ol' stevland wonder
weezer reference
crazy nice vibe
First Listen: Aug 30 2021 the only pink floyd album that deserves to be glazed. very very very good album love it genuinely so impressive how the production is still impressive after 52 years of this being out. they are lowkey biting lil yachty tho ngl
Love how janky this sounds. Cool album
My mom recommended me this years ago. Became significantly less interested when i found out there are no women in the band it was pretty good. folk punk is a cool genre
get this fucker off my screen omgg. actually the most overrated artist of all time
he just be doing everything i love ts.
He nice with the synths love it. I need that synth preset that sounds like a electric guitar bad. He abuses it on here and i get why i would too
its a cool blend of folk pop and downtempo but it def drags a bit
this album smells like valve oil. no I won't elaborate the textures on this album are fucking crazy, I haven't heard anything like it on a jazz album, or on any album for that matter. Mind blowing from the first note to the end. sad that people on here can't appreciate this cause this might be jazz perfection (I'm not super proficient in the genre so don't take my word on that). SNOO-MINGUS AS USUAL I SEE
Its another good neil young album but idk i feel like i've heard better from him
initially i didnt trust pink floyd with a rock opera album. And then i remembered how huge and atmostpheric dark side of the moon was and it gave me some hope that it will similarly be mind blowing. It was good but suspicions where correct. I just don't find roger waters to be charasmatic enough vocalist for an album of this nature. It just comes off as a bit underwhelming, espicially since i just relisten to dark side like a week ago and it's still fresh in mind. Its def worth a listen because its iconic, but its maybe a bit overrated imo. Will def check out the movie tho seems interesting
good but needs to be grungier. i really don't like basic alt rock idk why. has its moments though
this band is really good idk how i've never heard of them, espicially considering that they're pretty popular.
i usually like dry melancholic indie rock but this albums bland production and sleepy vocals really weren't doing it for me.
theres some really weird dated dumb sounded songs on here, but when it good its fucking good. love me some soft rock, none of that wack country pop rock shit on here god its bad. rym says its cowpunk god i love that sites stupid genres wtf is cowpunk
sex
cool atmosphere and synths, i liked it
oh shit i love little simz, haven't heard this album yet tho This site is allergic to black people i stg, this is great. If you dont like this please give her album sometime i might be introvert its absolutely stunning, i hope to god its on this list because absolutely deserves to be Now i gotta check out her newest album
dj premier so goated
This is so evil i love it
Not that i ever disliked the cure, but this is definitley the first tome that i felt like i fully understood onoe of their albums. Incredibly good, although its a shame that i dont see whats so gothic about it other than the fact that its the cure. Feels a lot less dark and gloomy in comparisson to their other albums to me atleast (im not goth what do i know). Its does get darker near the end though i guess. I dont want my fav cure album to be the least gothic one that feels lame as hell on my part
very lovely i fw gene clark heavy. single handedly changed my view of country music. still not fan of country, but if its from him i like it
just ruined my 8 good album streak FUCk! The only song on here worth listening to you've already heard a billion tillion zillion times.
This band is so crazy Its sloppy in the best way possible. Perfect blend of indie rock and noise rock influenced textures. So cool, will def return
No where near as good as anything he made with the beatles, but still a fun change of pace
greatest album title of all time fred durst is the best gen x-er to ever gen x, no competition. highkey its terrible but I can't help but love it. there's def better nu metal, but ts is so fucking fun idgaf
fantastic cover art omg
i feel like they have crazier albums than this but i still like it
i was like, eh its alr, and then a change is gonna come starting playing and I got it. rly damn good, his vocals are crazy, nobody sings like this anymore
am i insane for liking this more than ok computer? radiohead is so fire when the doing weird electronic shit and not britpop bullshit
not that this band or this album is necessarily bad but i just find them so uninteresting. feels like rock for annoying people who cry about rock being dead
This what imagine trout mask replica sounded would've sounded like if the band was being tortured. And that somehow makes it worse?? It has its moments but its overall a bit annoying to listen to
i actually really liked the first track, Night Life. unfortunately the rest of the album couldn't match its weird nocturnal country vibe. such a unique song its a shame rest isn't like it
whenever a jazz album has low or mid ratings on here it always good sign for. HOLY PLEB FILTER this is so nice. real high brow shit, got me fuckin snapping my finger in sans of clapping whenever one of the performers finishes one their crazy ass solos. not the most mind blowing jazz out there but still highly enjoyable
First Listen: Mar 12 2024 lovely album. sade is goated affff. so fucking smooth and groovy ahhh i loveee it
solid, live albums always go harder
not for me. steamroller made me intensely uncomfortable keep your cement to yourself creep
omg the first song is in robots. i was gonna say it sounds like the chop song from robots, but it literally is the chop song from robots lmao i'd be lying if said understood it, or that I loved it. I like that this list has really challenging music on it though. There's really cool shit on this album, most of it is kind of awful, but still interesting. Its a shame how fast people will write off strange ass music like this. give it a chance, its kind of cool i guess. 16 Shells From a Thirty-Ought-Six is so fucking good, I really hated for this first couple minutes and then my ears adjusted to it and its so fucking good omg. you can really hear the captain beefheart influence and to some that's the worst thing ever, but to me its exciting
love me some melancholic rock. really hate that I don't like the country songs too much. i really thought the genre was growing on me, hate to see it :(
First Listen: Jul 21 2023 not my favorite radiohead album but its really cool tho
its brit pop so i feel like i should hate it but this kinda awesome fr
first beat on fl studio core kind of cool but feels a bit too primitive to keep my attention. like why are all of the songs so long?
pretty badass i guess. this list has too much lame old metal, wheres all of the barely listenable screechy death metal shit, im tryna hear some of that
good to know that kanye carried be. this good but def a lot weaker than his later material
i hope this is as good as people act like it is way better than their debut. shoegaze is such a good genre, i pity those who don't like it.
actual music god
First Listen: Jan 02 2023 fav kendrick album. love how cinematic it is, excellent excellent excellent album
at best it's indian sade. at worst it just boring and little cringe. very interesting concept (?) but the execution is really messy overall
2.85 is crazy. i can't believe that people hate sophisti-pop, it's such a sick genre. album sick as fuck yall are genuinely so sauceless. i rly loved this album
big fan of the words she's saying, whatever they mean.
justified stupid ass title def not a must hear album but im pretty fond of cheesy radio rnb from the 2000s. also if the neptunes are in the credits than the album instantly gain points for me. i lowkey loved the second half of the album ngl
cool but not rly my thing
i don't think women are capable of making bad punk
78 minutes oh hell no i kind of fw cheesy white girl soul. its not even bad but an hour and 20 minute is absurdly long for a project like this.
this is beck?? its so weird hearing be so serious. not as quirky as his other work but that's not necessarily a bad thing. he's such a talented and versatile musician
this is gonna be so sick. 4 20 minute long songs according to rym its avant-prog jazz rock. fuck yes im so ready really cool album, loved the second track, rest were still good but not as interesting to me. i still recommend checking it out its cool
really excellent soul/funk. love it
the dusty springfield feature is so sick. i fw really cheesy 80s pop so it appeals to me. if you don't fw this at all you're soulless to me.
this is so fucking good. side a just being a rapid fire of banger, side b being a lot slower. this is does like everything and it manages to be great all throughout. im so impressed by this. kind of reminds me of a less messy alien lanes by guided by voices (also a great album)
this is like blues perfection to me. is that controversial? i just love everything about this album. i love how sporadic and improvisational the songs are, i love how dirty the guitars sound, I love the mix, his voice is crazy. it just so excellent, title wasn't lying this is HARD.
First Listen: May 03 2023 3 5/5s back to back, this album treating me right. literally have this vinyl in my dorm imma spin this rq 3.17 on this site, i want hurt the people on this site sometimes (im jokinggggg). this is such an otherworldly project, i really can't think of anything else like it. its for sure bjorks best work. love this album and her stupid ass swan dress
i don't think marvin gaye can make bad music
theres way too much disposable indie rock on this list
i feel like i hear a lot of psych rock and i never really understand why its considered to be psychedelic. this shit is definitely deserving of the title. really odd production and mixing all other the project and I love it. so otherworldly, really ironic when you consider the title. loved it
this like the most off album ever. i feel like it wanted to be weird and experimental but none of it felt intentional. i was just confused the whole time and not in a "cool but idk what's happening kind of way". more in a "please make it end" kind of way
krautrock is so cool
good but not 1hr 17mins good
whole album of ratchet and clank type beats. cool sound design i guess. just a very disinteresting album
feels a tad one note but i like the note if you know what i mean. I always fuck with this melancholic type shit
this is like stereolab if they were spanish and chill instead of french and pretentious (jk i love stereolab so much). don't get the hate for this, super chill and fun record. idk I just like samba and bossa nova music a lot. really enjoyed this. wish it was longer though, which is weird cause i always complain about albums being too long
i like it, but i wont lie im very intrigued by their earlier reggae punk albums. i got to check those out on my own time, if they aren't on this list already
fs my favorite nick cave album i've gotten so far. I hope the rest are this good because I was already getting a bit sick of him
i blinked and it was half way over. it was okay but like wow this was a brief album
first track fucks so hard. i love house music yall are a bunch a puhsssies (extra emphasis on the puh) (its not the best house music ever tho. ngl i've heard much better)
i really like the blend of pop and krautrock, its cool. love the textures on here. it's very stereolab coded i think thats why i like it so much
further proof of my theory that women make the best punk
im so sick of britpop make it end... unless its the verve they're alright
FUCK YES this is like if every game on the og xbox was turned into album. idk if that makes any sense but that's the best way i can explain this album
smth about this is off idk how to explain it. he should stick to folk idk about this one
its fine idk im just not a fan of metalica, its just the most boring plain jane ass metal to me
good satire is always so sick to here. love it
I LOVE HOUSE MUSIC!!! this feels so ahead of its time i love the dirty ass production. there's some questionable project choices on here ngl, but idc, ts would go crazy in club. i don't get the hate same old show is awful tho ngl and it get worse near the end but that first half is excellent pink pantheress sampled this on girl like me that makes me like the album more
obv its good its tribe
singer songwriter music doesn't really appeal to me. its not that i don't care about lyrism in my music, im more inclined to read into them when the surrounding instrumentation is also interesting. I'm sure the lyricsm on here is excellent when analyzed, and there were parts i like, famous blue raincoat was great. I just find the production to be so uninteresting. I also jus don't like his voice its just not for me also why is diamonds in the mine kinda reggae i feel like im going insane
who up flakin they nuts 👀👀👀👀
oh hell yeah tracks are little too long for my liking, but this is still pretty rad
its fine. dancing queen is obv peak tho
my only exposure to him was feature on the brad paisley song "accidental racist". so highkey i didn't trust him after hearing that. this alright tho. just alright though
type shit
rym core (and its precisely why i like it so much)
they jus love outrageous shit don't they bizzare af, how i like it
i like melan collie and the infinite sadness, I just couldn't stand the 2 hour runtime. great album, just wasn't into it enough to warrant the gargantuan length. this is more of the same, just shorter and I like it a lot. good shit
dreadful
this like the only britpop band i fw contrary from the cover, this album is not buns whatsoever
if its shoegaze, its an instant 4 for me. love that shit
i love synth design on here. fucking incredible album here omg, this is so me-coded, they made this for me specifically. shit jus makes me happy
god forbid a white boy get a lil funky
weird but i like it. its like if the drearier more experimental beatles songs weren't boring as hell
who told him he can make music like this? can't believe im begging him to go back to the boring acoustic stuff
i like niche experimental hip-hop from the 2000s, but this is far from a must hear. i liked it more than most people on this site for sure. aside from some questionable bars, I found it pretty interesting. like a worse less psychedelic Quasimoto
cha cha good, but doesn't particularly interest me in any way
slightly better than the other scott walker album i heard, but still pretty boring imo
this site keeps giving me bullshit. GIMME A BANGER ALREADY i feel dumb asl, this was the guy in wham! how did not realize that fucking boring
i will never enjoy this mans music. i don't even care about the lyrism, i find outrageous shit funny, this shit just sounds so bad. like a hate his aesthetics so much. the production so ass, the rapping so corny. all of the bar about people being offended by him and him not giving af reads so sensitive, shit corny af. buddy just stand on business. lame ass shit i'll never understand why he's so beloved stream boolymon thats real rap
rip john he wouldve loved supreme
no thank you
love love love triphop. weaker than their debut but still very good
I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!!!!!! to whoever decided to give synths to french people: thank you
i like joni but the jazzy stuff on here so excellent. def my fav from her
can be a bit corny sometimes but i rate it. the smoother calm shit on here really nice
really interesting approach to reggae. some of the experiments fail tho. at best its okay, at worst its really boring ngl
hon hon hon (im too racist to french people i stg im joking love yall rt)
cool af, theres a lot going on here
cool sound design can't save this from being pretty uninteresting overall
yet another obv must hear
calm as hell. usually don't like this type of stuff but if it mellow enough i can get down with. good background music.
exactly what you want you'd want out of 90s pop-rock album
cool but i dont care
i be getting these long ass albums on my busiest days i stg thank god its pretty good
type shit my mom would be blasting in the living room while she doing spring cleaning theres some questionable feminism here. also some sort cringe parts but all good 2000s rnb has that. i rly like this tbh
First Listen: Aug 19 2021 I LOVE YOU ERYKAHHH AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH so fucking good omg. baduizm better tho
dope cover just the right amount of 80s, its still a bit boring though
how is this my first jay-z album? sponge bahb square pahnts (https://youtu.be/8QPsajKWcOw?si=Gn-DHnNb6q3etCGS)
omg the dude with fat tits from fight club makes music?? i think the only reason why i like this is because of that
tom waits makes music for cartoon villains who run dark evil factories that produce excessive amounts of smog and evil doohickies. thats literally the only way i can describe this music, and its fucking awesome
stick to folk bro please. i don't even think this is cultural appropriation, its just fucking boring.
thankfully liked it. i usually hate all of the British music on here
middle kinda boring but that beginning and end is great
post-punk is kind of hit or miss for me, this is pretty good, i can see how it ended up being so influential
YOU LOOK SO GOOD I'LL SUCK ON YO DADDY DICK 🗣🗣🗣🗣
cool ig. i heard shit similar to this thats way better
cover art makes me intensely uncomfortable and so does the music tbh. i love it
First Listen: Feb 18 2023 to whichever editor added this to the list: i love you
def a weaker project from them, but who cares. i love this band omg
noise rock, my beloved <3 my only complain with this is that the vocalist sound a bit too good. give this bands lead vocalist a more squeaky and irritating voice and this this would be elite
i got 2 dinosaur.jr albums back to back what are the chances my complaint about the last album carries over to this one. MAKE. THE. VOCALS. WORSE.
i think i get ska now. i like it, smooth and frantic at the same time, i like it
more music need this type of pacing. fast and to the point i fuck with it
i'll always love cheesy 80/90s synthpop
smooth and groovy at the same time. only knew who this guy was because of that one gorillaz song, it cool hearing some solo material from him
late 2000s indie slop. there's a lot of that on this list and this is the worst of it. boring as all hell.
a little hit or miss, but definitely a massive improvement from the album i heard from them. its a little corny and weird, but the theatrical shit its cool
omg its the peter griffin drinking redbull song this is dope af i love 90s downtempo electronica whatever the fuck. great album people on this site have no culture or class.
i really like the songwriting its rly attention grabbing and charming.
indie millennial bullshit. some cool moments but most of its boring dribble. what terrible album to end my year on
can't believe that i haven't listened to this already. absolutely excellent, so important, you can tell how influential this went on to be. as somehow who not too crazy about pre-90s rap, i have to thank wu-tang for evolving the genre i love so dearly.
its looks like she digging in her belly button on the cover. thats the most interesting thing about this album. feels about as inspired as stock music, how tf did this make the list? better question: how tf did this win album of the year in 1989? must've been a slow ass year for music, cuz holy fuck this is bland
weird ass 80s shit fuck yea. kate bush always delivers, great album
theres a lot of great and poignant commentary on racism on here and i really like it. great production too. the misogyny obviously wack but im not surprised its 90s hiphop yall whatd you expect
radical af. rip radio raheem
they don't call them minutemen for nothing amirite frantic af i like but also I feel like i could barely appreciate any of the songs because of the breakneck pace. still a cool ass album tho
alt rock is usually a red flag but this was dope as hell. love how bouncy and danceable it all is. and the noisy passages sound incredible, really great album
like its good i just dont want to listen to an hour and half of van morrison
this feel like default punk music. its good but not too interesting
never really cared for the white stripes. jack white is very talented, but im just not really into his style of rock tbh
yesss girl
i feel like they wanted this to feel like a psychadelic cowboy trip, but instead it kind of just felt like greening, just being uncomfortably high and overwhelmed by everything. good album but its giving me traumatic drug flashbacks to highschool. i wouldn't return to this
pretty good but im fs gonna forget about this tmrw morning.
i really like the instrumentation on this. its a shame the best songs are either super short or backed by a french guy whispering sweet nothings into my ear. i don't mind sexy music but this jus making me uncomfortable. good album but its not for me
krautrock is so cool. cool ass. i don't really know whats going on but i like it. after reading the wikipedia it doesn't seem like the musicians understood it either so that makes me feel a bit better
first half a little iffy but the the last half is really great. it sounds a bit tacky and dated and simultaneously futuristic and ahead of its time. its very confusing stylistically but, once you get over that its pretty good
free bird is the greatest song of all time. every song on the album could've been literal recordings of people blasting violent diarrhea out of their ass and free bird is good enough to make up for that
what a lovely listen. love bossa nova, I really like the cool electronic influences on here, they're very subtle but very well executed. adds a refreshing spin on the age old bossa nova formula. very chill album, loved it
such a sweet and lovely album. really liked the writing on this. that cover so stupid tho, i guess its fitting but idk. that first track is incredible
First Listen: Aug 13 2021 /!\ DOPE ASS ALBUM ALERT /!\ DOPE ASS ALBUM ALERT /!\ HATERS HAVE NO CULTURE /!\ MIA (was) MY GOAT /!\ I LOVE THIS ALBUM /!\ shit makes me want to throw ass and say shit that would instantly put me on the no-fly list (she lowkey got better album than this one but shhhhh)
pretty standard jazz rock. its good but a bit forgettable
everyone comparing this to the smiths, that probably why i don't fuck with it am i crazy are do the vocals on here sound like ass. nice instrumentation, but I just cannot get behind the vocals. The vocal melody are so awkward, it almost feels a bit spoken word at times but it just doesn't. Poetic is the right way of wording it i think. Idk usually i don't mind bad vocals but i just can't get behind this one.
this genuinely healed me. thank you bruce and your awesome harmonica love you
actually very lovely listen, idk why i was dreading listening to this. i'll probably never listen to this again but its pre good i guess
really uninteresting psych rock. boring and underwhelming
not too big a fan of all the brass, its sounds very tacky and dated. but other than that this album is pretty enjoyable, some pretty creative and innovative instrumentation and fun lyrism. good album but you're not missing out on much by skipping
eat hot chip & lie i feel like a lot of the song start terrible but turn into something great near the end. a little mixed, but i enjoyed more the most of the forgotten early 2010s pitchfork bait indie music
WE THE BEST MUSIC!! GOD DIDDDD like how its kinda funky. actually really cool production. lowkey mad because I accidentally listened to this on shuffle, mb khaled. i will most likely never return to this album again so sorry, i guess i never hear this the order khaled intended. i like it though
enjoyed this a lot more than rest of his albums. idk this is just more engaging to listen to
finding out david bowie produced this was the most unsurprising thing ever. dope af. rip lou reed he wouldve loved blue hair and pronounce
does so much with so little. such a fascinating album. lowkey might be the some of the best synth punk i've ever heard. holy shit frankies teardrop is so haunting but so good omg. and the first song was sampled by M.I.A., holy peak. def not a 5/5 album but i gotta show love cuz the ppl on this site clearly aren't capable of comprehending music this good
competent but still manage to boring and uninteresting. super whatever ass album in comparison to other prog rock albums i've heard
idk i like the weird ass vocal performance. would be a whole lot less interesting without it. very strange but still endearing despite it
its so short you might as well hear it before you die. far from a waste of time. super speedy punk i like it
my ears having been training for this moment. absolutely insane music. super noisy, my ear hurt but i think it sounds cool so it ok. glad i found this now and not while i was in highschool, cuz this deadass probably would've been casual listening for me back then, im not joking idk what was wrong with me
wham bam thank you ma'am this the closest i've ever gotten to actually enjoying country. idk if its because this is actually really good or if its just that this list has been training my ears for but i actually really enjoyed. silly and charming ass album, i really enjoyed why his girl always cheating on him and standing him up? idk whats up with that tho. bro got no luck
ykw fuck yeah growing up is realizing you're aren't above mainstream white girl pop music. i actually gave this an honest chance and enjoyed it. Probably would've liked it more if I haven't already heard half the songs on here a million times, but whatever. honestly impressive as fuck how many songs on here are hits. will admit tho this album gave me multiple flashbacks to be being terrorized by these songs constantly playing on repeat on the radio when it first came out. looking back these songs are actually very good. def the best taylor album
progressive pop is so sick
this band is responsible for the only enjoyable part of jojos bizarre adventures. thank you yes, you're the best
i've def heard better house but this still fun af. also casual q-tip surprise feature wdf. caught me super off guard, dope af
it good ig. lowk a lame ass album to be the highest rated on the site tho. yall boring asf on here
i was gonna say that this album would be dope asl with some vocals, but actually im glad they just let the instruments breathe. insanely good production and atmosphere. this was such a sick listen cool asf
you american mfs need to rage against the machine harder tbh. mad relevant rn
this my fav fiona apple album yet. really interesting lyrism and bizarre instrumentation. i like it a lot its real rough but it works with the bitter themes across the album. i really liked this
not that her other music is bad, but this was a far more interesting listen than other stuff i heard from her. i like this grungier sound its great, wish she stuck to it
it sure is lowk fire af. more songs need bongos
i dont have much to say abt it, its jus good soul
not getting the hate. everyones calling this a poor mans prince, but i love prince so more for me i guess. i kind of start off hating every song, but they evolve into something really good near the end. there's so some really cool grooves on here. lenny's performance is def a little forced and over the top but i don't mind. i think its cool, especially freedom train, love the glitched out electric guitars sounds super cool and ahead of its time.
there are some great moments here but a lot of of the song kind of just meander and get really boring. feels long as hell for an album thats only half and hour long
bladee and ecco2k reference omg 80s pop at its best best. girls just want to have fun is classic for a reason
this jus sauceless nu metal, get this bullshit away from me
i really like the combo of the country and punk rock it actually sounds great. why are they killing so many black people on this album tho wtf is up that. why are they so many lines about killing niggas bro wtf. i was gonna say i really fuck with the album art but now im sussed out by it. ignoring that shit its a cool album i guess but idk how to feel about some of the subject matter
"Bull Session with the Big Daddy" AYOOOOOOOOOOOOOO which one of the beach boys is the bull 👀👀👀
love jazz
i like led zeppelin but holy hell this drags on for so long
pretty good, love the slower songs. i can already feel this album fleeting from my memory. so either this shit boring or im getting dementia, idk tbh
elite background music. i found out that i have midterm in like two days for a class a literally sleep through every week, so this is probably perfect study music. i said probably because my ass did not study while listening to this FUCK THAT CLASS! idgaf fr! good album tho
super cool and dreamy. every time it started getting a bit the stale the album would reel me back in with some crazy synth design. the electro influences on here are super sick. this is such an interesting album, loved it
q-tip a legend for a reason. so chill and dope, loved this
bizarre but thats how i like it dammit
odd and cool. right up my alley. very atmospheric too, I'll probably return to this
oh this actually feels psychedelic. really rough, as all good garage rock is. side A incredible omg
First Listen: Dec 12 2023 some of the best trip-hop ever. so smooth and dark I lovee it. it could be sweet has been repeat ever since i first heard it
competent but utterly disposable country
stupid ass title, but i liked its clever. super rhythmic and bouncy. this might the only new wave band i like tbh
there are some really dope moments on here, but its really old by the second half.
lowkey enjoyed this more any nirvana project. not that this really sounds like nirvana, but everyone associates them with them. super dope
i'm more of a ray of light but this still cool. every song on here that prince worked on is my favorite
love the byrds. kind of hate that my favorite country albums barely sound like country music. i wanna like every genre of music, im doing my best. I love the crazy psychedelic moments on here the most. feels super ahead of its time for the 60s, some of these tracks remind of some 90s indie rock shit, def gotta be super influential for sure. love it!
i listened to the french version because i felt like it'd be the more authentic version. i also don't speak french. funky and gay (im assuming). i like it but i do think it drags on a bit too long for my liking. its not very memorable
i had know clue her vocals were gentle, considering my only exposure to her was screaming stupid fucking christmas songs. very very smooth. id be mad as fuck if i was only known for christmas songs when i can make actually really good rnb, but i guess it doesn't matter cuz she gets paid a bajillion dollars every december. good for her. i fw this album heavy
i dont get the metalica hype. i don't know what makes it so special, its boring dragged out old head metal. i don't even hate metal im just bored asl by this
conflicted because I was so tranced out by this album that i barely even know what i just listened to, but also thats kind of the point of trance music. kind of null complaint i guess. theres some really cool segments on this album, i won't remember them, but if some put this on i would tell them to turn it off. its cool to listen to.
kind of just sounds like less inspired sade. i still liked it a lot tho, love me some jazz pop
cool and spacey
idk, doesnt feel all to glamourous considering its glam rock. smth just off abt thisidk
werid ass 80s pop. smth about this immersive idk what it is but i like it a lot
trip hop might be the greatest genre of all time and it upsets me so bad that people cant seem to understand it.
loving the vocals. usually hate alt rock but this got more soul i like it
this flows so well, feels like one really really long song. brilliant, glad i've heard this now, because this been on my listening list for years now
nu metal is so awesome i physically cannot hate it. love love it
squidward on a chairrr i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock i hate hard rock ts so boring omg the only time i can tolerate music like this at my white families family barbeques. would maybe go hard when im in my 40s
finding the real version of this album was a nightmare. worth it tho, loved it omg why isnt this on spotify. every saying the spotify link is the right one is lying btw, go on youtube and find it there. this album so damn good, its so dynamic and crazy the vocalist is good i loved it
little mixed with this one. some of somes on here flow like dont hug me im scared songs they're so silly. and obviously thats the point, its supposed to be fun and lighthearted and it is. but idk its not rly my thing. not bad jus not for me. genius of love is excellent tho
like if you asked tom waits to be french and make industrial music. ts so butt and that coming from someone who likes tom waits
one of the best indie rock bands ever for sure. love these mf. kim is so cool too wish she was on more pixies songs
im always mad sussed out by gospel made by white people. this is bad i actually hate it. weird ass lyrics and production thats doing way too much. i usually like brill building stuff or shit associated with phil spector but this is god awful.
i love air, they're a great band. this is real good but you can really tell that this is supposed to be a film score, it kind of feels out of place without a film attached. maybe i'd like it more if i've seen the movie. i'll add it to my watch list cause this would def be a dope sound track. fs a strange entry on this list tho, you can def skip this
angsty and funky i like it a lot. its like punk disco im fw it. loving the song titles too. cool ass album
First Listen: Dec 04 2021 i miss the old kanye. insane debut album, so so so good, crazy how this is like weaker album for him cuz this would any other artist best. if anyone gets on my dick about giving stream money to nazi dw i got ts on vinyl pre nazi arc so im chilling.
i liked a few of the songs but other than that its whatever. idk why theres so many live albums on this list
ungodly terrible. this is some of the most annoying and obnoxious rock i've ever heard in my entire life. never show me this shit ever again omg i hate it
love when "garage rock" actually sounds like its recorded in a garage. on its own this album is great. i dont usually like early rock and roll all to much this album has great energy. the album had yesterday feels like it was trying a lot of similar ideas that are way way better executed on here. still not over how obnoxious alex harvey is ugh
you kno its some real gay ass pop when its gets super loud and noisy out of no where actually really great. was a little intimidated by the length, but this was actually really cool. I already love 80s pop, and this feeling a prog pop opera. its so cool and immersive loved it way more than i expected to.
jus mid ass 2010s electropop. its not bad just nothing very interesting. You know its bad because ppl love to pretend now a days that their so nostalgic for this sound, and yet you hear no one talking about chvrches ever. that felt harsh, this album is fine mb
oh she jus lost her mind on this one not even bad i actually liked it a lot, it just not as memorable as other albums i heard from her. except for the end of the album where she starts making donkey noise idk wtf was happening there. very creative tho
some pretty decent poppy country. its alright but doesn't really stand out to me very much
oh buddy im fucking ready to listen to whatever the fuck this shit is hilariously dated. it's kind of garbage but i find it really charming, and it has its moments here and there.
i have no opinion on this its fine ig jus saw the cat on the cover and now i like it little more
starts very slow, but stay with cuz it gets so good by the end. love lou reed so much man, this man is so goated a songwriting god i love ittt
solid ass jazz. shoutout cuba, i pray for them
some of their least interesting music to date. i think they were just asked to make a bunch default ass beatles song for some movie and that's exactly what they did. these feel so uninspired, not a fan at all
mad underwhelming. they have no song where they need to be doing allat. ts so tame and boring considering the aesthetics.
now, you must acquire a taste for FREE FORM JAZZ *this entire album plays* this album become a lot better once you read about how it was made and the history of it, its really interesting. Although I can't blame anyone for not caring about especially considering how challenging of listen this is. i liked it though, cool stuff. will admit it did give me a little headache though, but i can forgive. god forbid music makes you feel something amirite
this been on my list for a while excited to check it out them icelandic mf know how to make some good ass music on bro
yea its really good. radiohead highkey overhyped but it's still very good
perfectly fine blues rock. no strong opinion tbh
this my fav album from bob. i like how its less acoustic than his other stuff, its bit more exciting to listen to. and it doesn't take away his incredible songwriting
im gonna kms if i get another album from his (joking ofc) i just dont understand what it is abt this guy that ppl love his music so much. to me its just so nasally and annoying. I hate his songwriting, its either super on the nose and preachy or just uninteresting. i cant stand it
yea he prolly up there
more forgettable indie rock from 2011. competent but boring. idk why critics back in the day ate this shit up so much, shit so butt
she the queen for a reason
nothing better than whimsical old man music. feel like getting a bedtime story from wizard, or your weird elderly uncle who was really into psychedelic's back in the 60s (practically the same thing)
i really liked this. this shit moved me. he breathes so much life into these songs. I was so distracted by johnny and fiona apples performance on bridge over troubled water that i didn't realize it was a simon and garfunkel cover. such a beautiful and sombre album. idk what it is about that makes it stand out so much to me, I just like it a whole lot.
omg the guitarist was in captain beefheart *gulp*. idk if thats a good or bad thing it was good thing. love the guitar on here ry cooder is great. love the hints of blues sprinkled into these malian tunes. pretty good but id being lying if I said it was very memorable. the album pretty one note, a very pleasant note, but still one note.
i really liked the first couple songs but it kind of trails off after that. disappointing i really wanted to love this
everytime i listen to reggae im just like, shit i gotta listen to more reggae. ts dope.
its fine, idk i just dont rly like new wave music tbh
first rapper to larp japanese shit. thats innovation
i actually liked it. pretty solid garage psych. they lowk biting nirvana but idgaf tbh
this is one of those albums on the list where you left wondering why its on here until you get to the one song popular song on the album and then you sort of understand why its here but not really at all
surreal to hear him with so much energy, i like it
my man balls be around there love coke rap so much. so good
half decent jam band absolutely ruined by that one really annoying white guy you know who swears he can freestyle. ungodly terrible i was begging for it to end by like track 2 this is so bad omg. genuinely offensive to my ears
theres some cool songs on here but its pretty unremarkable otherwise. jus another 90s pop rock album.
its fine. i heard far more interesting jazz rock tho. and the folk stuff on here is kind of odd and out of place tbh
alt-country and americana, didn't expect this to go so hard wtf
its industrial martial music in german and i seeing people describe it as "fascistic" and "nationalist". im lowkey scared of this, i'm assuming its satirical and not nazi music, but i wouldn't know cuz i don't speak german or slovenian. reading the history of this album is so interesting. its jus a bunch of martial rock covers of songs by some random austrian pop group. How do you even conceptualize this. maybe there's something deeply wrong with me but i kind of loved it. it has really good production and the concept is so interesting, I was very captivated by it. I never heard anything like it, nor did I ever want to but I like new experiences regardless. And for that reason I think this is worth checking out.
dumbass album title. obnoxious as fuck absolute hard rock slop
kind of nice to see some non-bob marley reggae representation on this list. good shit
honestly pretty good. def got a few corny moments tho. i like it but i dont see myself recommending it, let alone remembering it the next day
exactly what i want out of an indie rock album. weird noisy and sloppy in the best ways. loved this shit out of this album
love an artist that's versatile. some incredible stuff but also weak boring stuff. cool album but like you're better off checking out bowies other stuff
this jus a boring version of the blondie album i got yesterday
brian eno exec prod this, checks out absolutely sublime listen. something about this album feels narrative, the music says so much with very minimal vocals i really fuck with it.
this like the most unappetizing album title of all time freaky as hell. sometimes a little too much but i still really like it. exactly what i want out of 80s disco pop
type music that makes me think i can do a kickflip
her name sound like scooby doo trying to say jealous vagina god i love bossa nova so much. love the subtle funk influences too, really great loved it
pretty good but its also jus standard post-punk. i liked it but i cant name anything in particular that stood out to me. good but ultimately remarkable actually nvm i like this album who am i kidding
one of those album everyone yaps about loving and i'm finally checking it out. yea its worth the hype shit got me dancing in my room good shit
cowpunk is such a surreal genre and i fuckin love it
trying to find the real version of the album was such a nightmare and im still not even sure if was listening to the real one. crazy how much texture and atmosphere they were able to get out of only 4 instruments. really gorgeous stuff
ry cooder on so many of these albums from random ass countries shoutout to him cool asf this site been giving me too many bangers lately where the abysmal dogshit at???
exactly what i want out of psychadelic album. so dense and detailed and it super catchy. this is so mesmorizing, love this band so much
cozy ass album, i like it
cream of the crop synthpop, not much better
shoegaze gets too much hate on this site yall gotta train your ears
i remember listening to javelin when it first dropped and not getting the sufjan hype. after listening to this i understand. what an impressive body of work, super long and extensive but consistently excellent. loved it
love melancholic rock so much. slow but it doesn't waste your time
this and 1989 by taylor swift transport me back to being a 9 year old in the backseat of car being assaulted by these songs constantly being replayed on the radio. The only difference in retrospect 1989 was pretty good. this aside from a few songs was kind of jus boring anyways heres the rick ross remix of hello that i just discovered existed https://youtu.be/5A0qtVHaX9w?si=3TBl8oqg5Hkgj-9I
when i realized this guy was in velvet underground i liked it a little more. but not much more good but something about its kind of nondescript to me idk. half past france is gorgeous though listen to that song fs
miles music is so fascinating to listen to. just so vibrant and expressive i love it so much
i don't use this term lightly so believe me when i say that this some hippy dippy bullshit really grating and directionless. does nothing and everything at the same time. couldn't even catch a vibe while listen, so failed in probably its main task
bruh i remember listening to this whole album back in 2022, really liked got 3 quarters in and realized i was listening on shuffle. and just didn't feel like going back and relistening in order niggas on this site so prudish i hate. oh no shes singing about sex and saying the n word. whys it so hard for you pussies to catch a vibe damn pisses me off
i really dont like rod stewart. so repetitive and grading i hate his voice so much
good album but because its so highly rated i expected something life changing. like idk its just decent punk. i like it, yall gotta chill a bit damn
ts ass bro 😭😂✌ there's gotta be a better first punk album ever than this bs
