Reviews (page 14 of 14)
Exactly as i expected. Late 70s American disco music, there were a lot of bands in this genre, i prefer The Crusaders to this though. Found it a bit repetitive and the lyrics weren't very imaginative.
Feels harsh but I'm never going to touch this again
I'm starting to think it's chic. What is it? Nobody knows, that's what's so chic. Was ready to give it 2 stars for not being actively unpleasant, but those last few tracks were brutal. Which is mostly to be expected. Next.
Not for me
I really, really wanted to like this album. An initial funky bass riff kicks things off, and it feels exciting, discoriffic, and reminiscent (if you're of that age)... But after about 15 seconds, things turn sour. We get, you're called Chic. We don't need to be reminded. After a minute of repetition I started to feel like I was in a class for those with Alzheimer's. What was your name again? Oh yeah YOU'VE TOLD US FOUR HUNDRED TIMES. Anyway, maybe things will get better in the next track. I really hope so because it's almost six minutes long. Nope. Turns out Le Freak wins the award for the most repetitive song of the 1970s. I shouldn't be too horrible. The music was catchy in some parts. For about 23 seconds. Before feeling like I'd fallen into a recurring nightmare involving a stack of loop pedals and some disco singers. To some up, this album was uninspiring, repetitive and generally quite dull. I listened to the end, in hope it got better, but instead I ended up wasting my life. I'll try not to 'Freak Out' on my way out.
I wish I could separate the music from the horrible disco images in my brain, but I can't.
Very minimal vocals, really restricting what the singers can do. Instrumentals are just super repetitive. Le Freak was really the only decent one, possibly due to it's pop culture status.
one hit does not mean whole album is good
What a slog to get through. Songs lingered too long without much to say. Repetitive as heck. Guess that's disco and guess it's just not my thing.
The first track reminded me of how unfortunate the late 70s were. So self indulgent. There are redeeming cuts later in the album, but overall this was the aural equivalent of a cocaine binge in a toilet stall.
blehh
Listened to a few . Not a great fan
GOD, PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
Gostei apenas de Savoir Faire (2018 Remaster)
Ugh. I hate disco.
Hier had ik nu echt geen zin. Zeker dat gepiel niet..
not for me
Not my thing
Not a massive fan of this. Le freak is a classic however.
Good production . Tracks too long. A couple of stand out tracks, I want your Love being the main one but too many instrumental offerings.
Not a disco fan.

3/5
Very acoustic, hardly any vocals at all. Made me want to listen and explore jazz some more. Inoffensive, repetitive, groovy.
