Reviews (page 8 of 8)

This is the only album that I've rated but not listened to in it's entirety. Bobby Womack had a fantastic voice, but the music to accompany it on this album is atrocious (at least the first five tracks). Not recommended for a Monday morning listen!

Really not what I needed to see today. Slick, well produced and inoffensive but totally devoid of originality, guts or a cutting edge. I could play this late at night with a bourbon and incense smoking in the corner but Barry White did it so much better. He's not in the top 1001 so this is getting 1*

Huh. I didn't really connect with the album. It's just shy of 40 minutes and I still couldn't resist the urge to keep skipping ahead, looking for something that evoked a sense of how this is one of the 1001 greatest albums. By the time I got to "It You Think You're Lonely Now", I felt like I'd already heard what the album had to offer and my interest was entirely lost.

God dammit, these album all suck dick I HATE THE FUCKING 80S!!!!!

not sure why this made the list...killer guitar on the cover though.

When I saw it was called "The Poet" I sensed bad news. Not for me.

Never again

Not for me!!
