At Mister Kelly's
Sarah VaughanSarah Vaughan had a tremendous voice, but there is nothing exceptional about this album. Just a standard live album by a jazz singer.

PRE LISTEN: Not entirely sure what to expect. I know very few Supertramp songs. LISTEN: Kinda hard to pinpoint what’s going on, but I like it alright. The vocalist has more interesting a voice than I had remembered.
Probably my favorite Beatles album. It’s not perfect. That’s what Abbey Road is for. It’s a lot of fun, though.
Not bad at all for a debut. The album with like 54 words in the title gets pretty far ahead of this one, but the Criminal video was a gift.
Loved it in high school. Also loved Tim Allen in high school. People change.
Excruciatingly dull.
Heck of a first album. Not quite there yet, but as proofs of concept go, it’s awfully solid.
Absolutely blown away by this album. Never know what to expect from Todd Rundgren, but I’m never disappointed.
Glad this one came around. Led me to Oblique Strategies
I’ve not heard anything like it. Except for Joni Mitchell. Joan>Joni
This album has lost most of its charm over the last 23 years.
Great album. Barely feels like a Beatles album, which is both its strength and its weakness.
What a hateful and irredeemable album.
Proof that you can be talented AND uninteresting.
Good. Groundbreaking. Far from their best.
Not worth anyone’s time.
Clear demonstration of talent, but a little goes a long way.
Pleasant on the ear.
Too much homophobia and guns to enjoy the performative stunty stuff about weed.
Get this guy an electric guitar.
Stellar album.
Kinda dull until it isn’t.

Didn’t like it the first time through. Listened again and it instantly clicked. Gonna stick with this band a while and see what other surprises they have in store.
Shine On should have been its own album. The other three songs on this album are just filler.
Important artist. Dull album.
This doesn’t need to be a three and a quarter hour box set. It could have been a 9-10 song single album.
A good glimpse at the past.
Dull.
No. No I don’t.
Rough around the edges. Expected fora debut.
Only giving this heap one star because I have to rate it.
Exploration. Fusion before it was a thing. Quality stuff.
Odelay is filled with good moments, but it’s not Beck’s most original offering. Sounds too much like Pavement too often.
Sonically good, but nowhere close to how good Frank would get down the road.
Still not convinced this isn’t Blur.
Better than I expected.
Nirvana isn’t cute anymore.
Good listen, but starts to all sound alike after a while.
Eat the rich.
Almost immediately put me to sleep. I know they’d move away from dull dub, but apparently it’ll take them a while.
When it hits, it hits hard.
A century and a half of recorded sound and this is on a list of 1001 significant albums?
Had no idea Franti did this. Worth the listen.
Absolute garbage. Also, throwing a beach boys album at me the day after Brian Wilson died is hardly “random.”
It’s no Ziggy Stardust
Of all their albums, the weakest one makes the cut?
I’ve heard good Dwight Yoakam. This isn’t it.
It’s fine. Nothing special.
Solo Sting > The Police
Vanity projects seldom work for me. Janis was a force on stage with a good band. This is just slop.
So many artists owe so much to Sinead O’Connor. The cranberries especially. I hear a lot of Bjork in Sinead. What a loss. This album moved me profoundly.
Quite a surprise. Will have to look more into Gene.
A little early for a Beatles homage. Love the Monkees, but their first outing with their own songs leaves a little to be desired.
Pretentious drunk. Mediocre rhythm section. What’s not to not care about.
Melody Nelson. Got it. Instrumentally speaking, this album is a masterpiece, but yeesh with the constant repeating of the name.
Not too shabby.
Good moments but reading about how the group didn’t even want to do some of the songs made the songs less impactful.
Practically perfect.
George Jones and Buck Owens are the chicken and the egg. Doesn’t matter who was first. They’re both great.
Never really gave them any consideration. This album brought me in. Great stuff.
