Not my bag, baby. I tried.
I don't understand why this was ever popular.
I'm seeing lots of albums like this, and really confused as to why they're an essential listen. I mean, I can think of 1001 albums that are better than this.
Why is this here? Music for office buildings. YES she has so much talent and can SANG.
Ehh, one song is all we really need, innit?
I've heard a lifetime of Green Day, and 100% of it was forced upon me.
Nice guys making nice music. Barf.
Fuckin' A. Two Coldplay albums in a week makes me want to stick an icepick in my earhole. The pumpkin spice latte of music, just stop already. This band fucking sucks.
I've always disliked and will always continue to dislike Fleetwood Mac. They were cooler with Peter Green for obvious reasons, but this incarnation of the band is what the cast of Friends would sound like if they were a band. Hard pass.
More Coldplay? Always such a disappointment.
I don't know what this is and have never heard of this band before, but this doesn't seem like a list-worthy record.
Classic album from a country music queen, before the genre went to shit.
Classic album from an amazing group of musicians
A classic album, one of the first groups in a then-new genre combining classic country with psychedelic rock. Filled with great songs and Sneaky Pete doing his thing on pedal steel.
Epic debut that changed the trajectory of music and electric guitar.
First time listening to this band and I love this album. Will have to check out some of their other stuff
More generic brit rock BS. No thanks.
WTF is this doing here? She can sing like a MFer but this music is pure dog shit.
Two stars for a quirky album from a group I’ve never heard of. Gotta laugh at the sax mixed with heavy guitars.
Great album that I didn’t appreciate in the 80s because I was a kid.
Like it or not, this is required listening and foundational to so many aspects of modern music we take for granted.
The wrong kind of 80s pop. Culturally relevant Olaf the time but I’m sorry the music and production is terrible.
I love this era of Bob and the Wailers, but this is not the best representation of the music they made during this time. Still a great record though.
Actually, I just had to listen to culture club and now this generic 80s pop. I don’t understand why this album belongs on this list. Not my thing.
Great record from a foundational band at the forefront of the grunge movement.
Holy fuck this is beyond terrible. I’d rather be slowly run over by a tank than be subjected to this musical cabaret. Talented vocalist and musicians, but overall a hot steaming pile of dog shit. I can’t imagine why anyone would listen to this.
I only knew the radio hits, so it was cool to hear an entire record from this band. Solid .
This album swings hard. Amazing!
I did not like this album as much as I thought I would. Still, it’s three stars for being different at the time in Eric Burdon is awesome.
I hate this music so bad. I hope this is the last Pogues album I ever hear.
This came out my senior year of high school, and obviously I hated it. But there was NO ESCAPE from these songs, they were literally being played everywhere, and the girls I knew LOVED this album. The music cracks me up. It's like Pearl Jam was hired to play the tracks and then the producer turned everything down in the mix. Her vocal affectations are also entertaining to listen to. I remember the videos vividly. Overall, I never got this music, but for an album that I never voluntarily listened to, I sure know it well. Clearly this was a ground-breaking album and she's very talented and beautiful. Three stars for impact.
One of my favorite NY records. Love the Crazy Horse cut. Fuck heroin!
Terribly mixed and so boring. Was this important or relevant when it came out? Nobody knows or cares.
Some cool sounds from this obscure (to me) band from across the pond, but otherwise a forgettable album. Not sure what makes this list-worthy, similar to several other generic British bands that seem ever-present on this list.
It’s all death, decay, heartbreak, and suffering with this shit. Like the house band in hell. What occasion warrants listening to Nick Cave? None that I’ve ever found. I’ve tried a few times and I just don’t get it.
A great way to spend 38 minutes
I probably wouldn’t ever choose to listen to this again, but it sounds way beyond 1992 in a good way.
Good stuff, glad I learned about this one.
This fucking sucks, and the cover is gross too. Seriously wtf?
One of those records that everyone fawned over when it came out. I didn't get it at all. Then a couple years later I sat down and listened to it in a focused way to see if I could understand why, and yes, it is actually amazing. Probably not something you casually throw on to listen to, and I'm not sure I'll ever listen to it again, but definitely a great album.
Sounds like a standard-issue 90's R&B record to me, not sure what makes this list-worthy.
Hated it in the 90s, hate it even more today as I thought it would never again cross my ears.
Sweet Love…Another song I never thought I’d have to hear again. Hard pass, what makes this list-worthy??
I and I love dis rebel music
I enjoyed the last few songs more than the first half. Having only heard the singles, I have a new appreciation for Annie's voice, wow. This also aged very well compared to many albums from this era. Not exactly my thing but pretty good stuff.
Amazing, and I thought Doolittle was the only SY album i liked. My ignorance has been exposed.
It's a personal problem, but I’ve always disliked Billy Joel’s music. It’s a visceral reaction that I cannot get around. I know lots of these songs, not by choice, and do not ever want to hear them again. Sometimes they'll get in my head for no reason. I'm not saying this to be cool as I understand it's a thing with some people to dislike Billy Joel, and I'm sure he's a great guy and certainly talented, but I fucking can't stand the music he makes.
As good as it gets for Aerosmith, a band that I never quite got into as much as others of the era.
Classic thrash album right here.
Among the few veggies that I enjoy eating and listening to.
Oh no, not again! I've seen other reviewers describe music like this as lobby music for a Nintendo 64 snowboarding game, and yeah that's it for me too. Hard pass.
Cool album, never heard of this before and I like it.
