So so much fun, exciting and all encompassing. Close to a 5/5, a purely entertaining album
A total masterpiece. Each don't is so bright and full of life, the musicians are feeling it, the crowd is feeling it.
The tracklisting is perfectly paced, moving through smooth soft blues to electrifting jazz that feels like you've been hit by lightning, all while never tiring you out.
The introductions and crowd noise is the perfect reminder that jazz is best experience live and it does it's best job of trying to put you there in the room. I cannot say enough good things about this album, an all time must listen.
A couple of really great and fun songs but suffers from too much samey-ness. I appreciate the DIY vibe of the production and the highlights really shine, but by the time you get to the end of the album it's all a bit bland
Some nice highlights but unfortunately as a whole the album is a bit boring. Just not my thing, but I can appreciate why it's influential
Fun and strange but not much more than that unfortunately
Brilliant album that is fun from start to finish
I'm surprised I didn't enjoy this more. For an album with such grand, dense instrumentation and lush production, it often felt like it was going nowhere she saying nothing. Many of the songs felt like I was just waiting for them to end.
At first listen I thought this was pretty decent but the more I came back to it the more it bored me. An album of iconic sounds from iconic bands that never meets the quality of what it's copying.
The band are absolute masters of saying absolutely nothing with their lyrics. Vague, meaningless rubbish that's so general it's impossible to feel a connection to what's being said.
Just because an album is influential, doesn't mean it's good.
Pretty great, not every song is perfect but the best songs are nothing short of incredible
Don't let the bubbly first song fool you, this album moves effortlessly better getting so boring I could call asleep, to so annoying you'll wish you never started it
Immensely irritating vocals to ruin a couple of fun instrumentals. The rest is so dull
Is it one of the 1001 best albums of all time? No, probably not. Is it bright, fun and catchy as hell? Fuck yes it is!
A pretty fantastic debut album with a a clear sound, clean production and good vibes all round
There's a couple of good songs here but the rest just fucking suck
A very very cool idea let down by muddy production and Metallica's inconsistent discography
A couple nice tunes but mostly a boring slog. Most of Lorde's lyrics are so cringe I wanted to crawl out my skin
Really like the message, really like lots of the instrumentation, but oh my god his voice I can't handle a whole album of it
High school prom music for people who skipped all their classes
Seriously seriously fun. A high 3 and a nice change of pace from recent albums
I fucking love this again, it never gets old. I could listen again and again and again
I totally get it's influence and popularity, just not for me
Extra star for Couldn't Love You More the rest of this sucked ass
A beautiful voice over instrumentals which are nothing special
Absolutely brilliant, so close to a 5
Very very high 3, a beautiful album with some stand out tracks
Every criticism of Slipknot is correct but I still like them
Lots of fun but a little too lounge jazz for me
It's not bad but a bit dated
I see why people like it but I just find it too boring
Really really enjoyed it until I realised after 10 songs I was only half way through
Fun fun fun! Breezed through this
I like it but don't love it
lots and lots of fun i loved it
I understand the music is good but it didn't impact me much
Tooooooooooo lloooonnnnggggggggggg
Enjoyed more than I expected to
Genuinely can't figure out if I really enjoyed it or was really bored?
Possibly the greatest vocalist of all time?
Brilliant production and performances can't quite help me get over the fact that I fucking hate Christmas music
The vision isn't always there but when it is this album is an absolute masterpiece
This album reminds me of being in uni, piling into someone's bedroom at a house party because the wannabe DJ has brought his USB with the most despicable music you've ever heard. Everyone hoping he stops but nobody brave enough to tell him to. Every so often you walk back into the living room, trying to convince yourself it's getting good now but the rooms still empty. And the worst part of it all? Years later, that guy will be what you remember of the night
Beautiful, tragic, an all round incredible album. RIP Jeff Buckley
Wow this was fucking terrible what the fuck
So Little Child is pretty fucking weird, right?
When it's good it's great but lots of it blurs together
Nice, but nothing too special
If this album was just the songs with lyrics it might be a 5, but the instrumental songs idle around too much for it to have impact
A couple songs in the middle drag for me but for the most part I'm surprised to say I absolutely loved this album
A harsh 3, possibly 4 on another listen
I feel like I should be rating this higher but it just didn't hit me like I wanted it to
Now I wanna go play baseball!
Awesome production makes this album fly by even with it's hefty runtime
Starts with entertaining but after seeing 5 or 6 it really becomes a dated and difficult album to listen to
Better on each listen and has something real to say. Shame the reviews are terrible just cause it's just cause it's not actually shit Beatles clone from the 70s
Some absolute classics muddied by lots of filler
A harsh 3 but a 3 nonetheless
I enjoyed this while listening but am certain I will never revisit it
Steely Dan continue their trend of writing a couple of the best songs I've ever heard and sprinkling them in-between a load of nothing
Surprised at how much I enjoyed this
I see the light! And it's a romp!
Enjoyed more than I thought and Jesus CHRIST the musical talent in display is crazy
Can't even think of a funny pun this album was just fine
Teases you with a great first half but loses momentum and ends with a whimper
The loungiest of lounge jazz. Like living in a shit perfume ad
Massive fun with only a little quality
Derivative, boring crap that I barely got through. But Homesick is one of the best songs on any album so far
Objectively good music just not my thing
Sufjan Stevens you will always have my heart
Nice to have a go to album for Halloween now
Every song is just sitting around waiting for him to shut the fuck up
Definitely good but didn't leave a big impact on me unfortunately
For a two hour album this flies by. There's absolutely some fat to trim, but so much of the album is pure quality
Nearly great but can't quite get over the line
Iconic and infinitely listenable. Head bobbing grooves to make your soul dance
Awesome album. Beats go hard, bars are wicked. Iconic modern British music and every happy to see it on the list
Like a cool breeze on a warm summer day, it's hard not to be in a good mood listening to this album
A bit of fun but not a whole lot of substance
What's the only thing worse than a bad album? A really fucking boring one
Sort of seeing between really really enjoying this and being really bored by it. Might have to revisit and re-evaluate
The vibes are insane the fun is too strong
Good vibes all round and didn't overstay it's welcome
Like a store bought Victoria sponge cake. Definitely not bad, and sometimes you get a bite with jam and cream and it's really good. But looking back once you've finished, it's nothing special
This album had me in a chokehold in my mid teens, now it has me in a chokehold in my mid twenties. Life is good
Pretty awesome to get to listen to an album and see the massive influence it had decades later
Feels so harsh giving this a 4 when it's packed with some of the best songs of all time. But alas, here we are
I feel so harsh rating this so low because she is undeniably and incredibly vocalist but I just found the whole thing unmemorable and a bit boring. Felt like I was waiting for it to end and by the time it did I had forgotten it all
I've never wanted to go to the honkeytonk so badly
Really struggled to get into this one
Feels extremely ahead of it's time for when it came out and still holds up well today
Absolutely timeless, great vibes. Feels like the perfect thing as the season changes to spring. But what do I know? Not like I'm a mathematician or something
Great vibes but heavily influenced by the fact it was one of the first sunny days of the year yesterday
So beautiful it's hard to put into words, but definitely need to be in the right mood for it
Thought this was gonna be fun but actually it just fucking sucked
Thought this was alright 40 minutes in until I looked and realised I had EIGHT TRACKS LEFT
Smooth like butter and the kind of funky that heals the soul
If I was as sexy as Prince I'd probably be this horny too to be fair
Enjoyable but not very impactful. I don't see myself coming back to it
Really doesn't do anything for me
This is a perfect 10 song album and a very very good 18 song album
Makes me want to drink shit beer in a red flannel shirt on the porch of my farm house. Man I fucking love Eagles
Fuck you I won't review what you tell me!
An inspiring story about how no matter where in the world you're from, you too could one day be part of a pretty crap album
I mean c'mon. It's ABBA! What do you even need to say?
A defining album of my childhood and forever a classic
Everything blended together, very dull
Unfortunately I think this caught me on the wrong day
I have no good reason for why but it feels wrong to like this album as much as I do. Call me a crazy horse I guess
Two adult men whining about how women don't want to sleep with them. At its best this album is a boring, generic 60s album. At its worst it comes across as judgemental and sexist
Nearly very good but lacks the bite it needs for me. The garage/DIY production gets in the way of it being really great. Also always sad to be reminded tiktok is rotting my brain
I had a lot of hope for this after the first few songs but after a while it so blended into a boring, crap mess
FUCK this rips so hard. An insanely good time it put me in such a good mood
Expectations were low but this album is just a great fucking vibe
The man on the cover looks like a boring wanker which makes sense because this feels like an album for boring wankers
All you need to know is Imagine is the best song
Probably the most disappointing pick so far. I don't know why anyone would ever want Bee Gees without the disco
I was looking for some songs and then I found some songs, and heaven knows I'm miserable now
Fucking depressing how relevant this album still is. Fuck the police
Fuck me this got old quick. The first few songs tricked me into thinking this might be really fun, but by the end I barely noticed the songs changing
Better than imagine but mostly cause it sounds more like a Beatles album
