Popular Reviews

Chuck D: I’m going to deliver some of the most profound, socially relevant, raps with force and power. Flavor Flav: I’m going to provide so much hype and energy to the whole album. Terminator X: I’m going make some cool drum beats and then add the most ear piercing annoying sound I can find and put it on repeat for every bar.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos

Fuck Eric Clapton, but this slaps man. Some of rock's greatest albums and songs came from some simp whining about a woman.

Hms Fable by Shack

Really? This was an album I needed to hear before I die? Yeah alright.

Garbage by Garbage

Another album that was just fine. Did I really need to listen to it? Not really.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary And Thyme by Simon & Garfunkel
Oct 29 2025

I don’t like folk too much but there were some standout tracks! Def a 3 1/2 star album for me.

Oct 30 2025

A classic and extremely important album. The first one of this list I’ve heard before! It’s still fuck the police.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Oct 31 2025

Another I’ve heard before and love! My Zeppelin phase in high school was strronnggggg. I listened to their first 5 albums + parts of Physical Graffiti and Presence on repeat. This album is great! I love the blues influences on here, probably the strongest it ever is on any Zeppelin album. Standout tracks: - Good Times, Bad Times - Babe I'm Gonna Leave You - Dazed and Confused* - Your Time Is Gonna Come - How Many More Times John Bonham is tha GOAT

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Nov 01 2025

Respect your elders! But more importantly, respect the Black community for doing it first! Every. Single. Time.

Nov 02 2025

i just don't like folk music. i respect bob dylan and his impact blah blah but i just don't care for it. some tracks i enjoyed still

La Revancha Del Tango by Gotan Project
Nov 03 2025

Solid but somewhat repetitive for me. Also that accordion (?) made me think of overcooked lol so couldn’t take it too serious.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Nov 04 2025

Can’t You Hear Me Knocking was a song I had on repeat during my classic rock phase in high school. Absolutely killer song. Solid album overall! I really liked I Got the Blues and Moonlight Mile, those were new songs for me. I think this is the first Rolling Stones album I've listened to all the way through. I always just listened to specific songs, that's it. Solid project! 3 1/2 (if i could do halves on this thing).

C'est Chic by CHIC
Nov 05 2025

Wow! Exactly right up my alley. I’ve been getting more and more into the disco and funk era over the years and this hit. Ofc the most famous song le freak I’ve heard but the rest of the album is stellar!! Standouts: Chic Cheer Savoir Faire I Want Your Love At Last I Am Free Sometimes You Win Such a great listen, will def buy this on vinyl.

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Nov 06 2025

Eh. It was fine. Not for me really. Hong Kong Garden was the standout track.

Two Dancers by Wild Beasts
Nov 07 2025

Pretty solid! Cool first “modern” era album, liked some songs. A very 3 star album.

The Bends by Radiohead
Nov 08 2025

Another album I've heard before and like! Funny enough, I just listened to this album for the first time not too long ago, before starting this challenge. I've liked Radiohead, never been the biggest fan, but I enjoy many songs and some albums. This was fun to listen to again.

Liquid Swords by GZA
Nov 10 2025

GZA THE GENIUS We form like Voltron and he happens to be the head.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Nov 11 2025

So so fun!!! So much life in the music.

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Nov 12 2025

One of the ugliest album covers I’ve ever seen. It was fine music but yeah

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Nov 13 2025

Heard it before! Also during my classic rock phase in hs. Didn’t really age well for me though but still a solid album.

We Are Family by Sister Sledge
Nov 14 2025

Fun and groovy disco album? Sign me upppp. Ofc I’ve heard the most famous song on here (although never in full before) but the rest of the album is a great listen.

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Nov 15 2025

Another album/band I listened to in hs during my classic rock phase. I always felt cool listening to deep purple cause the felt more lowkey compared to other bands. Child in time is the obvious stand out. Cool album.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Nov 17 2025

Surprisingly good!

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Nov 18 2025

A little disappointed by this one. I really thought I was gonna enjoy it more but found it just okay. Parts reminded me of Physical Graffiti, last song sounded like Black Sabbath’s rendition of Changes.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Nov 19 2025

Not my fav from Radiohead but still solid

Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Nov 21 2025

Holy shit I did not think I was gonna like this album this much. But when something sounds like a classic video game soundtrack with jungle style beats there’s a good chance ima like it. Def will look out for this on vinyl!

Smash by The Offspring
Nov 22 2025

What am playing crazy taxi or something?

The Only Ones by The Only Ones
Nov 24 2025

Solid but not extraordinary. Singer’s voice bothered me after a while. Really enjoyed the instrumentation on this tho!

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Nov 25 2025

Fuck Eric Clapton, but this slaps man. Some of rock's greatest albums and songs came from some simp whining about a woman.

Movies by Holger Czukay
Nov 26 2025

Another surprise album! I genuinely really enjoyed the journey this album put me on.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Nov 27 2025

Yeah yeah I know we all make fun of Coldplay now but once upon a time they were actually pretty good. I’ve never listened to this album in full and was surprised how much I liked it!

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Nov 28 2025

So skeptical when I was there was a war pigs cover but damn they killed it.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Nov 29 2025

When I first was getting into Bowie back in high school I could not understand this album. Now is clicks for me and it fuckin slaps.

Nov 30 2025

My favorite Beatles album since I was a kid! Such an iconic cover and story behind this album. A Day In The Life is still one of my fav songs from them.

Who's Next by The Who
Dec 03 2025

The Who are just so corny and cringe I cannot take them seriously.

So by Peter Gabriel
Dec 04 2025
Drunk by Thundercat
Dec 05 2025

My reaction to seeing this was my album of the day: YOOOOOOOOOOOO HAHAHHAHAHAHA Dude what a pleasant fuckin surprise that this list goes up to albums this recent!!! I absolutely loved this album in college when it came out. Thundercat is an absolute master of his craft. His bass playing is mind melting and his range is incredible. Like tell me how he can go from contributing to one of the greatest albums ever in TPAB to fuckin meowing and singing about he wishes he was cat. Thundercat I love you and wow I’m so excited that this list has relatively recent albums! Now that I know this though, if TPAB or Blonde aren’t on here ima be pissed.

xx by The xx
Dec 06 2025

Yep this sounded like 2009 lol It was like the soundtrack to tumblr or like I’m shopping at urban outfitters or something. I see where other bands got influenced though but I just didn’t care too much for their singing. Started off pretty solid but the second half just felt so slow and boring. It just felt like it was trying too hard to be deep and emotional.

Dec 09 2025

Chuck D: I’m going to deliver some of the most profound, socially relevant, raps with force and power. Flavor Flav: I’m going to provide so much hype and energy to the whole album. Terminator X: I’m going make some cool drum beats and then add the most ear piercing annoying sound I can find and put it on repeat for every bar.

Melodrama by Lorde
Dec 11 2025

I remember when this album came out. I really wanted to like it cause the cover art is so pretty. But it just didn't click then, and while I liked it more this time, it still doesn't really land for me.

Stripped by Christina Aguilera
Dec 12 2025

Okay I get why my dad was listening to this when I was younger.

Diamond Life by Sade
Dec 13 2025

Beautiful, gorgeous, jaw dropping, a spectacle. And that’s just me describing Sade’s looks

Dec 14 2025

Really? This was an album I needed to hear before I die? Yeah alright.

War by U2

Casanova by The Divine Comedy
Dec 22 2025

I really liked the music but my gawd is this dude so corny when singing lmao

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Dec 24 2025

No wonder French people are so rude. I’d be pissed too if this was the music coming out of my country.

Fear and Whiskey by Mekons
Jan 18 2026

Bruh how do some of these albums get on this list

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jan 20 2026

Wow this was great! Like I’m sure is the case for many people, the only R.E.M. song I knew was Losing My Religion. I never bothered to explore more from there, so I’m happy this album is on this list and that it’s so good! Def one I’ll revisit and maybe even buy on vinyl.

Jan 21 2026

Enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would. I only knew Walk going into it but really liked the rest of this album. Gonna be a workout album for me for sureeeeee.

Jan 23 2026

GGGGG G-UNITTTTT There are seriously some racist takes on here about this album. Don’t like it? Well then it’s probably not for you. That’s it, move on. All that extra shit like calling the stuff 50 raps about a “cultural cesspool” is just flat out fucked up and racist. Anyway this album is awesome. P.I.M.P. is such a killer track, I’ve always loved those steel drums on the beat. As a side note, if you’ve never seen some of 50’s old tweets please look them up for a good laugh.

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Jan 26 2026

A really good jam album. Some tunes on here I enjoyed a lot, but after a while it all kinda blended together. That’s the thing with long albums like this, you gotta switch it up at some point.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Jan 27 2026

You on point tip? All the time phife! After just getting People’s Instinctive Travels a few days ago I was hoping to get this album next; I just didn’t expect to get it this soon! This has been my favorite ATCQ album since I first got into them in high school. The jazz influences on the beats are incredible. Q-Tip and Phife Dawg ride those beats with masterful and playful rhymes. I love this album.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Jan 28 2026

A shame that an album with such a nice cover can be so bad. The second half of this album really saved it for me though. The run from Come Together to Loaded to Damaged was the highlight for me.

Viva Hate by Morrissey
Feb 01 2026

Damn, I really wanted to hate this one. You win again Morrissey.

Surfer Rosa by Pixies
Feb 03 2026

Cue the end of Fight Club

Black Metal by Venom
Feb 05 2026

I’m shocked how much I’ve been enjoying the metal albums on this.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Feb 07 2026

Holy fuck this sucked ass. See, this is why I hate white men with guitars. They all think they’re so cool. With songs so bad it inspired me to make a playlist of the worst songs I hear during the completion of this list. Thanks Know by Nick Drake, it was that bad. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood for this idk, it irritated me though. Cool album cover though, what a let down.

Sister by Sonic Youth
Feb 08 2026
Fishscale by Ghostface Killah
Feb 09 2026

MF DOOM production with Ghostface rhymes. What more could you ask for? (A shorter run time)

Mott by Mott The Hoople
Feb 11 2026
Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Feb 12 2026

Didn’t care much for his style of singing but it was a fine album.

Happy Sad by Tim Buckley
Feb 13 2026

I hate songs like Dream Letter. Just super sparse with crooning vocals. Not for me.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Feb 14 2026

just a lush, grand, and sprawling musical experience. this was a fun surprise! def one i gotta revisit

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Feb 15 2026

i think i might be a sonic youth hater. except you incinerate, i can never hate you.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Feb 16 2026

RIP David Bowie

Feb 17 2026

It's so fun when I get an album that not only do I already know but that I absolutely LOVE! What an amazing debut!! So much energy and fun lyrics. It's hard to pick a favorite, but my standouts are The View from the Afternoon, Mardy Bum, When the Sun Goes Down, and A Certain Romance.

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Feb 18 2026

We live in a society… No but in all seriousness, this is all still extremely potent and relevant. I just didn’t care much for the music or delivery, but that shouldn’t take away for the message.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Feb 20 2026

Vampire Weekend influence?

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Feb 21 2026

Wow what an amazing surprise. I only ever knew the final track and I've wanted to check out the rest of the album, but I didn't expect it to be that good! Def gonna be a buy on vinyl.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Feb 22 2026

I mean it was fine. Nothing spectacular. Another album I woulda been fine never hearing, but not mad I heard it now.

Feb 23 2026

All Hope Is Gone by Slipknot
Feb 25 2026

Mar 12 2026

It was fine I guess. Definitely an album I could have never listened to. Fuck Eric Clapton.

Raw Like Sushi by Neneh Cherry
Mar 13 2026

Listen, I love hip hop and rap and I respect the old school artists but man it can sound so corny sometimes lol. Appreciated the Stevie Wonder sample on Inna City Momma. Speaking of, when tf am I gonna get a Stevie album. Anyway, some solid tracks here when she was singing.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Mar 14 2026

factsaresimpleandfactsarestraight factsarelazyandfactsarelate factsallcomewithpointsofview factsdontdowhatIwantthemto factsjusttwistthetrutharound factsarelivingturnedinsideout factsaregettingthebestofthem factsarenothingonthefaceofthings STILLLLLL WAITING As much as I love this album and the Talking Heads, the last 2 tracks dramatically slow down the pace. I don’t really like how it ends. But man Once In a Lifetime is so great.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Mar 15 2026

Man his voice was so annoying

Coles Corner by Richard Hawley
Mar 16 2026

Another album that was just fine. Did I really need to listen to it? Not really.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac

Dog Man Star by Suede
Mar 23 2026

I woulda felt so cool listening to this in college

Arrival by ABBA

There really didn’t need to be more than one ABBA album on this list. This is the ONE.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Mar 31 2026

I am NOT listening to a song called whipping post 😭✌🏾

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Apr 03 2026

Apr 05 2026

What this list has taught me is that there are so many mediocre to just straight up awful bands out there.

What's That Noise? by Coldcut

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Apr 15 2026

As soon as I hit play: oh shit it’s that song!

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 18 2026

Sometimes, famous albums are famous for a reason. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this that much but that was good!

Super surprised to see this album on this list! In Search Of… must be on here too then!

Yeezus by Kanye West

Rain Dogs by Tom Waits
Apr 24 2026

That was some of the goofiest shit I’ve ever heard. Sounded like some reject Danny Elfman soundtrack.

Different Class by Pulp
Apr 25 2026

I was enjoying it until I wasn’t. Their style became repetitive and overdone for me about halfway through.

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Apr 26 2026

This album sounds exactly like the cover looks. That’s the only reason is gets a star.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Apr 29 2026

For a split second I thought that was Cillian Murphy on the cover. Enjoyed this one quite a bit!! I had no prior knowledge of this group before this so it makes it even more fun that I liked this so much!

Dirt by Alice In Chains
May 01 2026

I THINK ITS GONNA RAAAAIINNNNNNNNN WHEN I DDIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE

Low by David Bowie
May 03 2026

I always knew Bowie was great and like a genius, but being able to take a deeper dive has really shown me just truly how special he was.

May 07 2026

So much more than just take on me! Good listen all the way through. It also helps that I’ve been in an 80s music mood for the last year.

Aja by Steely Dan
May 11 2026
White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
May 14 2026

Oh so when they play like shit it’s considered art and an album you need to hear before you die but when I play like shit I’m told I’m “ruining the vibe” and that I’m “out of the band”. I’m sick! Loved the bedtime story I got during this album though.

Illmatic by Nas
May 16 2026

One of the best rap albums ever made. Nas’s rhymes should be locked in a cell. It ain’t hard to tell. Dude that human nature sample goes so hard.

American Idiot by Green Day

Live At Leeds by The Who
Jun 09 2026

This is my bias, but a who live album on this list is diabolical

The Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies
Jun 11 2026

Beautiful most of the time but also too slow and sparse. Maybe not a good idea to listen to while I’m really tired.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 13 2026

Finally, a song about my love for neon lights.

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Jun 14 2026

Ugly ass album cover. Pretty mid songs overall other than the obvious standout.

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 15 2026

This is getting to me at a perfect time. I’ve been leaning more into the new wave/80s sound, so listening to this in full was great.

Henry's Dream by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jun 17 2026

This guy is a terrible fuckin singer. Such an annoying voice. Edit: changing this from a 2 to a 1 after hearing the album I got after this one. Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor was just so lush and full of life it was refreshing to listen to after this garbage.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Jun 18 2026
