Repetitive, sometimes noisy annoying elaborate soundscapes with multiple countermelodies, in tightly controlled chord structures.making up Space Rock.

I like the cover artwork more than the music! But it makes you aware too, that listening to this album probably will cause you headache. Far too much noise for my taste!

More of the same. Second album in a row from Spiritualized. Still don't like it to the point of annoyance. I gave up after a few tracks.
The first 2-3 tracks were.....okay. But giving it a second listen, there wasn't anything worth remembering about those same tracks. This entire album is what happens when hubris (or chutzpah: Happy Hanukkah, everybody!) meets ADHD.

I can't wrap my head around why I hated this so much. On the surface, sounds similar to a lot of other music I like, but I wanted nothing more than to turn it off during almost all of it. It took 5 attempts to get through it, so it was not even an issue of mindset, or venue, or time of day. I have nothing insightful to add, sadly. 1.5
# 352 : Boring as F@ck. not my thing. An album which makes you reconsider whether there are as many as 1,001 albums you must listen to before you die.
I got this one on my other project previously, so I've now had to sit through it twice. Still don't get it. Best I can tell, it sucks. Maybe it's sophisticated in some way, but if so, went right over my head.

I do not feel like my mood was in the right place. I was needing something to amp me up and get a workflow, but this was more calming. I'll need to give this another listen when I need to relax and unwind.

Very strange and experimental, but not in the usual positive way. Its ok to listen to in the background, but it didn't click with me and was at times hard to listen to. Not for me at all. Some of the tracks were excessive without the need to be. I definitely did feel like I was floating in space though.

To preface, I have done many, many drugs. None of them sucked as much as this. This is a wholly vile cacophony of noise, a thousand musicians making a mockery of what Brian Wilson so ably did in the studio 40 years earlier by comparison. Loud horns, loud harmonicas, bad energy throughout. If this is intended to be reminiscent of a bad trip, it succeeds, and I no longer wish to listen.

Horrible. Most songs sound like the start of middle school band practice when every kid was screwing around and making strange noises on their instruments.
These guys didn't deserve one album in this generator, let alone 2. This is more of that unenthusiastic shoegaze spacey indie shit. Sung as if bored, and full of spacey boops and beeps. Complete garbage. At least it's better than their first one I reviewed (Lazer Guided Melodies), but not by much. Of interest: Cop Shoot Cop... samples John Prine's song Sam Stone. Why do they have to do John Prine so dirty? That song also has a 6 minute break in the middle where the musicians just wail on their instruments and distort them all to hell senselessly. This album is trash. Favourite songs: Electricity Least favourite songs: The Individual, No God Only Religion, Cop Shoot Cop... along with most of the rest of this album. It is all garbage. Ffs, is there any need for their last song on the album (Cop Shoot Cop...) to be 17 minutes long? My God... 1/5
All of the self-important, over-dramatic weirdness of like a Queen or 30 Seconds To Mars. None of the talent or charisma.

The name of the album is appropriate. It's a very spacey album. By that I mean empty. It's too boring to actively listen to. It's too slow to put on as background music. The only situation I think I would ever put this album on is to fall asleep to.
The final song was the only interesting track on the album.

This is just flat out boring
could not get into it though i did like the little variation on the elvis song in the opening track.

This was… interesting. I had to stop listening to Cop Shoot Cop. Otherwise, interesting.
I really tried to like this. I'm just not sure what we're supposed to enjoy about e.g. the 2nd half of "The Individual", or most of "Cop Shoot Cop". There's some cool sounds on here, but even the stuff that's interesting, like the free jazz instrumental on "No God Only Religion", is simply not what I'm looking for in a rock album. As an actual listening experience, the singer's got a grating voice, the album's way too long, and there's not enough going on. Each song tends to be a single idea, and often they just get into a groove and sit in it (e.g. "I Think I'm In Love" repeats the same roughly 3-second phrase over and over for 8 minutes). Bottom line, it peaks early with a cover-ish of an Elvis song and is downhill from there.

So unglaublich nichtssagend, dass ich die ersten 3. Songs spätestens nach 1:30 ausgemacht habe. Beim 6. Song hat mich das Interesse komplett verlassen, kann ich unmöglich durchhören. Diese Platte ist irrelevant. Die Musikjournalisten vom NME, die dieser Platte 1995 statt Radioheads „OK Computer’ den Vorzug bei der Kür zum 'album of the year‘ gegeben haben, sind gehörlose geistig Behinderte. Nie wieder.
