I think i'm alive. Probably just breathing. This album has it all. One of the coolest thing ever recorded. Those 3 opening songs are out of this world. One of the best album closer ever in Cop Shoot Cop. A perfect album cover.

Headphones on. Sit down in a nice chair. Dream away. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.

Show Biz Kids is nice. The Man Don't Give a Fuck by Super Furry Animals has taken that sample. But Donald Fagen is being an ass about it so that's -1!

School är toppen. Resten också bra. Som Queen, kanske t.om bättre?!

Härliga backing vocals och bra munspel är det som räddar detta från ett sämre betyg.

Love the funky bass. Guitars could have been Johnny Marr. Perfect mix of early madchester-sound and more depressing post-punk. Best: Barmby, Spoilt Victorian Child, Cruisers Creek och My New House.

Trad jazz utan blåsinstrument, bara piano, trummor och bas. Lite väl slött. Objektivt: 5 Subjektivt: 2 Totalt: 3!

Det här är en genre som bör förbjudas. Dom får en tvåa tack vare att det antagligen är det bästa som kan representera genren.

Hitkavalkad! Ready Teddy! Det finns en Little Richard biografi som är skriven av Charles White som heter The Life and Times of Little Richard. I den står det om en kväll då han och Buddy Holly spelade på samma ställe. Han satt i logen och hängde med sin väninna som annars jobbade som strippa, föga förvånande att hon hette Angel. För att göra sig redo för spelningen ville han dra en runk medans Angel suttade på hans bröstvårta, enligt Little Richard hade hon "the fastest tongue in the west". Och mitt i kalaset klampar Buddy Holly in i logen, istället för att vända på klacken och gå ut igen så ska han bara ha "halat" fram den och Angel svarade med en subtil invit och händelseförloppet var som följer "She opened up her legs and he put it in her. He was having sex with Angel, I was jacking off, and Angel was sucking me when they introduced his name on stage. He finished and went to the stage still fastening himself up. I’ll never forget that. He came and he went.”

Lite Lush-känsla över ganska många låtar, inte minst Did You See Butterflies. Slow Motion är 5/5. Coolt folk-sound blandat med drömpop.

Kanske en 5:a om det inte varit för alla töntiga interludes som inte bidrar med något.

They were pretty decent before this one as well, but this is where it really took off. It's the start of a brilliant run of albums with Setting Sons and Sound Affects coming after this. Especially love the last tracks on here; A' Bomb in Wardour Street and Down In The Tubestation At Midnight.

Rätt stökiga, ostrukturerade melodier och många olika typer av sound genom hela albumet. På ett bra sätt! Dock lite för modernt och fräscht för min smak!

A Simple Desultory Philippic är en 5+ sarkastisk sågning av Bob Dylan.

En fantastisk debut!

Skönt lo-fi sound. Ganska likt Dinosaur Jr vilket inte är så konstigt eftersom Lou Barlow därifrån är med även här. Det är lite för ojämnt med ett gäng usla låtar, men Sacred Attention och Bouquet for a Siren är otroligt bra.

Its a bit all over the place with mixed genres, but still somehow, much like Sandinista by The Clash, the end result come together(!) as a great album. Had no idea Eric Claption played guitar on Whil My Guitar Gently Weeps!

Här var det psykadelisk hippie-musik för hela slanten. Ganska bra egentligen men blev slut i huvudet av de otroliga skeva lyricsen efter halva albumet. En kropp fullproppad med LSD hade nog gett en 5:a!

Not something i enjoy as background music but when actively listening with headphones it's really nice and almost hypnotic.

Skön röst men det är ärligt talat bara under de sista 2 minuterna av albumet som det händer något spännande.

Älskar And It Stoned Me. Första halvan är bra men sen tröttnar man lite.

As far as boring singer songwriter album goes this one is pretty decent. The Byrds guy.

You would have thought that making one album that is a soundtrack to a movie that doesnt exist is enough for most artists. But here's the second one from this man. And this one was great fun. First track is some Madchester/Acid House fusion with Jarvis Cocker singing and then its just a wild ride into weird jazzy and funky tracks until suddenly Nick Cave is appearing on The Sweetest Embrace with his lovely vocals. Nice!

Hon har en rätt jävla jobbig röst, men kan inte gå lägre än en 3:a.

Det är inte helkasst och en del riktiga klassiker, men över en timmes blues-gitarr-runkande av en rasist blir lite för mycket. Gillar Bell Bottom Blues starkt.
