"This show is being recorded for an album release on Columbia Records, and you can't say 'hell' or 'shit' or anything like that." "How does that grab you, Bob?"
Son, I'm 30 I only went with your mother 'cause she's dirty
So much more than just Come On Eileen. Great horns all over the album. Not that far from Housemartins at certain tracks.
I think i'm alive. Probably just breathing. This album has it all. One of the coolest thing ever recorded. Those 3 opening songs are out of this world. One of the best album closer ever in Cop Shoot Cop. A perfect album cover.

Sounds like Joni Mitchell singing on a few tracks, really nice voice.
Cool for what it is, and if you like old County. One of the inventors(?) of the sub genre "the bakersfield sound"!
Really good new-wave/synth-pop that aged extremly well.
Best track: Miles From Nowhere and the obvious Father And Son.

Headphones on. Sit down in a nice chair. Dream away. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.
Show Biz Kids is nice. The Man Don't Give a Fuck by Super Furry Animals has taken that sample. But Donald Fagen is being an ass about it so that's -1!
Not bad for an album that was recorded in 2 days and cost 600 punds to make!
3.5! Some boring songs but Powderfinger and Hey Hey, My My are great.
The super cool Stevie Nicks doing great vocals on Angels, Sara and Sisters Of The Moon. Thats All For Everyone and Not That Funny are great as well.
"This show is being recorded for an album release on Columbia Records, and you can't say 'hell' or 'shit' or anything like that." "How does that grab you, Bob?"
Out of the blue is perfect. The whole album could be a Bowie album.
The original version of No Woman No Cry is pretty amazing compared the the more famous live version.
Cool Helter Skelter cover. Best songs: Switch, Hong Kong Garden and Nictone Stain.
Love the funky bass. Guitars could have been Johnny Marr. Perfect mix of early madchester-sound and more depressing post-punk. Best: Barmby, Spoilt Victorian Child, Cruisers Creek och My New House.
Trad jazz utan blåsinstrument, bara piano, trummor och bas. Lite väl slött. Objektivt: 5 Subjektivt: 2 Totalt: 3!
Working Day and Night och It's the falling in love är sköna!
Inte hans bästa, men en extra stark 3:a! Perfekta albumet om man vill begå självmord!
Lite mer rockigt än The Boatmans Call.
Någon typ av Slovensk industriell rock. Två(!) covers på Live is Life.
The Life and Times of Little Richard. Little Richard hade hon "the fastest tongue in the west". She opened up her legs and he put it in her. He was having sex with Angel, I was jacking off, and Angel was sucking me when they introduced his name on stage. He finished and went to the stage still fastening himself up. I’ll never forget that. He came and he went.”
Mer klassisk jazz jämfört med hans andra i listan. Inte lika roligt men perfekt som bakgrunds-musik.
Bäst: Through A Long and Sleepless Night Dock lite för segt för högre betyg.
Jazz fusion! Rockigt med el-gitarrer och väldigt experimentellt.
You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else You know they don't give a fuck about anybody else
Son, I'm 30 I only went with your mother 'cause she's dirty
FACT-275! Brilliant. Fun fact: none of the song titles are mentioned in the lyrics.
Lite Lush-känsla över ganska många låtar, inte minst Did You See Butterflies. Slow Motion är 5/5. Coolt folk-sound blandat med drömpop.
Stay With Me och Memphis är bra grejer!
They were pretty decent before this one as well, but this is where it really took off. It's the start of a brilliant run of albums with Setting Sons and Sound Affects coming after this. Especially love the last tracks on here; A' Bomb in Wardour Street and Down In The Tubestation At Midnight.
Otrolig avslutning på albumet med Mrs Robinson -> A Hazy Shade Of Winter -> At The Zoo
Mysigt men långt ifrån hans bästa.
Creation Records at their absolute peak! They released this one, Loveless AND Screamadelica all within 2 months! Good job, Alan!
Its a bit all over the place with mixed genres, but still somehow, much like Sandinista by The Clash, the end result come together(!) as a great album. Had no idea Eric Claption played guitar on Whil My Guitar Gently Weeps!
What a lovely, funky, jazz album! Really cool with the organ. Best track: Minor Chant.
A perfect debut and post-punk album. They turned a bit more artsy and mellow after this one. I love the rawness on here Best: Crocodiles, Villiers Terrace
Älskar And It Stoned Me.
As sicmagazine so nicely put it: "For 64 minutes they were the greatest band on the planet."
Blue Lines, Protection, Mezzanine. One of the greatest run of albums ever!
He has nothing on Little Richard! 3 thanks to the album cover.
Very much like Joni Mitchell it gets a bit exhausting listening to a whole album with the type of voice she has.
Its no Different Class. A bit too long. Best: Help The Aged, This Is Hardcore, I'm A Man.
That cover photo is taken from Fat Peoples Festival, in Danville 1983, and the guy is still not identified. But was there ever a festival like that? Rabbit hole warning! https://www.reddit.com/r/nonmurdermysteries/comments/lw1wlj/the_identity_of_the_man_on_fatboy_slims_album/ And the the songs are great too! Best: Rockafeller Skank, Gangster Trippin, Praise You.
Absolutely not what i expected. Weird and funny lyrics. To do the Wall Street Shuffle Let your money hustle Bet you'd sell your mother You can buy another
Master Of Sparks was a brilliant tune. If only the second half were as good as the first.
I could do without a few of the blues covers, and i could definitely do without Robert Plant screaming like a giant baby on most of the songs.
They should have just looped Africano for 40 minutes.
First record with a computerized image on the album cover! And what a record it is!
Doesn't really hold up to its excellent album cover. Singer has some great Joni Mitchell vibes. A sailors life developed into something really nice.
Beautiful but maybe a bit boring at times? "I Could Be Dreaming" was nice.
Far from the best post punk album but it was clear that Inspiral Carpets got a lot of inspiration from these guys! Some great use of the hammond and horns.
I'm a sucker for this type of chilled acoustic folk music. He has the perfect voice for it as well.
Nice and simple 60s pop. They obviously influenced the Beatles.
Not bad, but she's no Kate Bush (even though she's trying her best).
How many times can you sing 'baby' on an album? Answer within!
Spretigt. Mest klassisk hårdrock men även en del funk, metal osv. Något med rösten som jag inte gillar.
Pretty chill reggae, but including this while having 0 Toots & The Maytals albums should be illegal.
Love the flow and how the tracks seamlessly goes into each other. Etoh was a highlight.
Rätt bra story telling på en del låtar men överlag ganska tamt. Bra röst!
As far as boring singer songwriter album goes this one is pretty decent. The Byrds guy.
You would have thought that making one album that is a soundtrack to a movie that doesnt exist is enough for most artists. But here's the second one from this man. And this one was great fun. First track is some Madchester/Acid House fusion with Jarvis Cocker singing and then its just a wild ride into weird jazzy and funky tracks until suddenly Nick Cave is appearing on The Sweetest Embrace with his lovely vocals. Nice!
As if Tracy Chapman merged with Joni Mitchell. Love the funky tracks.
Too long but quite a few good tracks. Reminded me of R.E.M.
Like their upbeat stuff more. Not really a fan of the synth-pop ballads on here.
0/5, that was terrible in all possible ways. Just generic radio pop done in a bad way.
"This is the second Simply Red song on this tape. One's unforgivable. Two's a war crime. Can I fast-forward?"
Mostly pretentious and whiny as usual with Radiohead. But Jigsaw Falling Into Place bumps it up to a 3.
Really good when it's good but just as bad when it's bad. Horrible album cover!
Has Everyday People on it so cannot give it less than a 4. Also better than There's A Riot Going On.
Payback time. From wiki: "Gray believes that the success of White Ladder paved the way for 'soul-baring' artists such as James Blunt, Ed Sheeran, George Ezra, James Bay and Tom Walker."
Like a really bad and down tempo version of The Housemartins.
The Way Young Lovers Do är en 5:a men resten blir rätt gnälligt.
It starts with Like A Rolling Stone and ends with Desolation Row so it cannot be anything but a 5.
