Life's Too Good
The SugarcubesAbsolutely fantastic. Probably my favorite new album in doing this.
Absolutely fantastic. Probably my favorite new album in doing this.
new fan. dudes awesome. love the prominent lyrics.
feels souless. theres good country and theres bad country yo.
I’m not even done with it, but I love every second. my cup of tea.
especially liked In My Life during this listen. sweet english bois.
heard several times previously. Is This It got stuck in my head later. listened to getting ready for work, driving there, and while walking jerry and driving home.
I could not even get through it. Heroes is great but I could not adjust my ear to enjoy any of the other songs.
Fantastic! Cosmic Dancer still makes me want to cry.
It was just alright for me.
fantastic! i never listened to this whole thing. i loved it
Better than Heroes
just ok for me.
Solid and everything but the only song I connected to was the last one, Riders on the Storm.
Fantastic
Lovely, delightful. Musicians more into the nature of music than expressing themselves.
Today I learned I like Prince a lot more than I thought.
No one song stuck out to me but it is impressive how fresh the whole thing sounds having been released in 1981.
Already a Steely Dan fan so this was a good time for me.
Fun and aware.
I’ve heard a lot of these songs so much that this listening felt a bit blah. But it’s an amazing album regardless.
Loved it!
Great!
Not for me
Never heard of before. Extremely relaxing and artful.
Sadly not my favorite
Fantastic! Matched my head ache today actually.
No one song stood out to me.
Soma and Mayonaise are stand outs. Dudes voice can get a bit much but great sounds in the quiet times.
A classic.
Bleh.
one hundred percent, not for me
I loved it actually. Heard some classic songs in a new way.
The Who can do no wrong
Hidden gem. Like if the Beach Boys put out a cooler album.
Really enjoyed it. A great vibe.
Took forever to listen to this one for it to be mid. But still enjoyed.
Amazing!!
I’ve actually enjoyed way more than i’ve enjoyed Bauhaus before.
Really my type of music.
Great but not my fav
good stuff
I mean, it’s pretty music. Not life changing but nice.
I’d rather listen to Little Richard.
Biggie Smalls should take the marshmallows out of his mouth before rapping. Basically, anyone that brags about chauffeurs and accountants and hos can’t be my friend.
yee. pretty funny too.
kinda corny. kinda cute. indian sunset is an insane song.
corny. fun.
Just alright for me.
Fantastic!
no
Loved it. Never heard any of these.
I actually love this music and sound. Puts me in a specific mood.
So good and relaxing. Memories
i will never not think of kyle
I’m kinda sick of it at this point.
Thanks.
So good. Ahead of their time.
a classic. love me some U2
Surprisingly fun and interesting
different and unusual. i liked it a lot.
Wasn’t expecting this
Always good
i mean, these dudes were the shit
bluesy
pretty decent.
Reminds me of me mom.
Entertainment.
I liked it although I should probably listen again while i’m not doing anything.
They’re so fun :)
Once again, took a long time to finish the album via youtube and it not be all together stellar. its ok for me.
I’m cool on it.
I enjoyed it. A slightly watered down Nancy Sinatra.
Absolutely fantastic. Probably my favorite new album in doing this.
Was not what i was expecting but good.
Reminds me of Xmas Rapping by Waitresses, but could also be that time of year. Bit corny in how it acted but still enjoyed it.
I listened to Kyky’s track listing instead.
no thanks
I had low expectations because i read this was supposed to be country so i was pleasantly surprised.
I mean, funk is great.
It was good if not a little sad she couldn’t have more control
well someone’s been listening to the smiths
I started off enjoying it but eventually thought his voice sounded goofy. He seems like a nice guy though.
i grew up loving the fuck outta Mama Cass, and always felt compelled that i should love janis joplin too. I think I will always just think she seems cool, of course all tragic, but her music is just ok for me.
Absolutely a gem. What a cool person and her music is lovely!
Pink Floyd is always going to be great.
I actually do love me some Bobby Dylan. Genuine guy and voice.
not for me
I debated a long time on what to give this and here i am giving it a 3
this has got to be one of the worst on this whole list. she sounds terrible and the songs are terrible. i think people in 1979 were just freaking out over any synth sounds which this has very little of anyways.
Really really great stuff. I want to give it a 3.5 but here we are.
I think MR has some really strong songs that i like but this album didn’t affect me too much still.
I wanted to like this more.
what a cool dude. still fresh
I’m glad I’m doing this list. I ended up listening to the album twice in one day. Wish I could give half stars.
I think I need to listen to more albums of theirs before I form an opinion about the band. This was just ok for me. Didn’t grab me but was pleasant.
new fan. dudes awesome. love the prominent lyrics.
forever tickled i share my initials.
One of the sadder stories about an album I’ve heard especially so far on this list. Made worse that the album is so good. What a cool mix of sounds and what a cool guy.
so close to a five but i just don’t have that five feeling. More Than This is a six song. Noticed Sparks sounds this round of listening.
i’ve actually enjoyed this album more in the past. felt a bit off and on. dude was definitely harboring a lot of negativity that he put into this.
Gosh. I don’t even know what to say to sum up how I feel. I didn’t like the vignettes, but some of the songs grew on me on a second listen. I liked the hit That Thing and would give that 5 stars. Idk I like the MTV Unplugged 2.0 more actually.
why is this on here doe.
ugh, it’s nice. there is a reason they called this easy listening. what a smooth lady.
kinda funny. probably has some of the most wifey heard songs on here. it obviously is a needed classic and hard to rate within this context.
First song was great. The rest were good. Solid jazz fusion.
fantastic. all my fav bands are related i guess
Not for me. But giving an extra star for Halford.
jay z is annoying.
It took several listens to get a grip on this album. I like all the songs a lot except the last song ruins it for me.
i don’t understand how this lady is so popular
Love Johnny Cash. He’s a cool dude and I liked his Personal Jesus a lot.
I really liked how the songs varied.
I think this album probably shines more considering the popular albums the time it came out.
Guh, it’s really hard to judge. I like the guy ok but it’s really hard to take his voice seriously.
kyle said “movements of the same song” and he’s right tho
I knew instantly that Kyle must enjoy them.
Solid.
I really thought I’d like this more. A lot of pressure on the cover me thinks.
I really enjoyed it a lot. Definitely my kind of folk/blues I enjoy. And Black Baby has aged really well.
Hidden gem. What a story of a life and I’ll never listen to Life in A Northern Town the same.
So many solid amazing tunes on one record. Nice.
Heard that Prefab Sprout magic in there.
great reggae but he gets some things wrong at the same time. Ganja is not good for asthma haha
Sounds are great, some of the lyrics are truly hilarious.
Excellent. They seem like really cool dudes
It’s good but poor Suba shouldn’t have died for it.
Play something from The Strangerrrr!
I mean, this is top 5 best albums of all time.
it’s fine
Solid. The cover is awwwesome. why is he singing about god doe
Nothing stood too far out for me except some fun lyrics.
the guitars are awesome. cool
Complicated and beautiful.
these dudes were inspired. pete is one of a kind
They were on the moment. Great.
Really good but kinda forgettable. Loved it but it didn’t grab me.
listened to it while driving. Isaac fell asleep to it. pretty relaxing, voice interesting.
why are most rappers always “fucking hoes”?
Standard good jazzy music
Lovely and I’m glad it exits. Articulated sounds.
What an amazing person. I usually don’t like other peoples spirituality but I like his.
Hip Hop is just not my favorite. This album was lovely but it also doesn’t grip me like other genres can.
Very lovely. Very soothing.
Classics for a reason 😎
Reminds me a bit of sparks which is great. ***emotional***
The Kinks are the shit. I wish my reviews were better but my life sucks rn.
aww 2003.
well. i mean. it’s perfect.
a fun time
trippy
finally listened to it. better cover
Only a couple bangers imho
Shit makes me cry.
It’s alright.
I wanted to like it more.
I wanted to like it more really.
Dude bangin on a trash can is better than some people on guitar.
smooth jazz.
dude likes lauryn hill a bit.
Israel is a cool tune. some fun
Neil Young is great. Only Love Can Break Your Heart.
Perfect album. Roxy music is the shit.
Cant get into it.
Its so of its time and was so played out I cant quite get into it.
Bobby D is the shit. Tangled Up in Blue is a great song.
Wow, amazing. Ahead of its time.
Ely's pure, unadorned vocals and wry, gently philosophical songs revive the Hank Williams-Lefty Frizzell honky-tonk tradition in country music without showing any traces of nostalgia or self-consciousness.
Great, leading to greater things.
So much character in the songs. I like the constant cicadas sound.
Stuck in a Moment is s perfect song.
not my tempo.
I to like it more than i do. First song is promising but it doesn’t build from there.
this shit is corny
Apparently I had like Forget the Flowers before. Its nice but not too biting.
These are their hits, so its nice, but why is this live album what one should listen to, it didnt stick out to me in any way.
pretty odd
my kinda shit
You Cant Always Get What You Want.
pet shop boys is nice.
Man, what a party. Definitely a pick me up after trying to listen to Dr. John.
not my tempo
Wow, Im such a loser not having listened to Pixies at all til now.
Just alright. listen in bed on sunday.
its Pet Sounds
its pretty much dad rock/hair metal. not terrible but your getting what youre getting. Cult of Personality.
I love Devo. Maybe in another timeline they get a 4 butt fuck it.
hair metal again? who ever thought one “had” to listen to any hair metal album before they die though?
Its funny to review nice instrumental music.
hilarity.
from midwest. alt/grunge. ‘Debonair’ from this album. nothing seems very remarkable to me.
probably my most listened to album
Love me Depeche Mode.
is Kamera supposed to sound like 1979…hmm. it’s nice it’s ok
Took me too long to realize Kyles played them before. The Killing Moon. Nocturnal Me - “oh take me internally”
huurrr i wonder if abbey road is good.
yikes. why is so much popular rap so harsh, especially towards the ladies. why the goofy skits too.
Dang, true to form not selling out. They should jam before they die.
this is dad rock now and im disappointed
classic. cool. fun. everyday people.
fun. weird. sense of humor for sure. i just probably won’t be listening in my share time. i enjoyed it tho.
very wow. more wild than his son. they are both unique singers with a lot of personality, sharing good aspects but still unalike in good ways.
no hits. no stand outs. im sad.
this is nice jazz music. its not going to illicit a huge emotional reaction from me doe
i would agree this is cool.
hoessly hoping- one person, too alone, three together, for eachother. Judy Blue Eyes. Teach Your Children.
dudes like the ween of metal. who knew.
I really enjoyed even if no one song stuck out on the last two listens
didnt care til the last song Wonderful World ‘you gotta have trust to keep the demons away’
cool dudes. first song was fantastic and a bit whatevs from there. im sure theyre saying some important shit.
extreme bleh
man, what a cool dude. ‘freedom’ really great vibes from there.
corny but i liked it more than a lot of trash out there. this would be perfect for a mixed crowd in austin tx.
next time someome mentions Taylor Swift im just gonna say ‘i dont like mumble rap’ because she barely sang on this bitch as far as i can tell. jesus fucking christ this chick is a billionaire based on what, tho? her voice sounds like a cross section of every white girl out there. She just named dropped olive garden as i write this and she is unironically the Olive Garden of the music world. There are zero bops on here. The inclusion of TS on this 1001 list brings down the validity of the whole project - isnt this supposed to be put together by a group of critics? This seems like someone was like ‘we have to include swift for some stupid reason’ and they just picked one of her albums that was least stupid. It supposed to be her 11th album but it sounds like a debut album. I hope shes happy n shit but this world is crazy man.
Wow. Dude made some hits.
omg his little noises.
First few songs were promising as heck but then he had to do too many sound-scape/genre songs to follow up and brought down the party he started.
Light My Fire is so good though. I think I’ve over-heard Alabama Song or the ending is so creepy, it just creeps me the heck out. Bleh, this is a tough call.
pretty of it’s time i think.
the lead singer Feargal Sharkey sounds so much like Brian Ferry of Roxy Music, I was tripping. I enjoyed it, although it got a wee bit repetitive. Liked “The Way Girls Talk” although I hope its satirical.
They were so amazing. What fool nerds. Peg.
walks the line between fun and a little annoying
I mean, absolutely lovely. Always has been, always will be. Maybe Baby and That’ll Be The Day.
This is my style exactly. Everyone in the store looked exactly like me. The sales person said I was the only person they had ever seen pull it off.
it seemed to lack an inner soul or i guess any i could grab onto to like.
she’s just amazing. her voice is so incredible.
this one just ok. i love her early stuff tho a lot
Good on them for wearing masks and making it possible for dudes in the early 2000s to pretend to be in Slipknot. Better than a lot of other poops on here.
not as catchy as i was expecting. she like the original swift.
dude doesnt sing. talk sings but its pretty.
its just fine really. i dont feel anything for it but i dont hate it.
60s psychedelic garage bands will always be my shit. why are we remastering songs and labeling them with the remastering year tho, that’s so goofy.
Shes so beautiful inside and out.
yet another album id like to give a 3.5 but here we are.
i cant believe this dude is on here twice. what the heck am i missing. like bad bob dylan.
Interesting. Alright. apparently i had a primal scream already and forgot.
Great. Extra points being in the Anchorman soundtrack.
funky
Two Weeks is the one that comes in with the keyboards and ‘ahhhooahhoahhhhhh” 2009
funky and beautiful. idk what yer problem is kyle.
man these dudes were on some good shit
feels souless. theres good country and theres bad country yo.
very chill
actually pretty mellow. obviously they have a huge talent to rap, but the music itself is pretty one note, but still nice and mellow for relaxing times.
Its kind of wild an album of covers is on this list. Its fine but yea not sure it should be on here.
Beautiful album. Andy Partridge is a beautiful human being. I love how Partridge creates a whole world you can live in.
sorry boss, I can’t get into it.
i lost my taste for queen.
More tender and vulnerable than emo music.
this is straight up alright.
California
Fun, but a bit forgetable. music makes you lose control.
absolutely fantastic. 160 acres is a new fav.
sucks
The sound is very fresh, if not the lyrics a bit unpoetic, but very likely that was intentional.
maybe this record should have been called Costco.
my shit
perfect
They're alright. I feel like they reached the appropriate level of fame.
Sultans of Swing, 1978
y’all. what are you doing. Dont Tell Me is better than Music.
recording was dominated by band frontman Sly Stone during a period of elevated drug use and intra-group tension…and yet still pretty good and funky.
man. its a shame. its a shame. he was the coolest and it’s impossible to fully enjoy like one used to. it will never be the same again. he was a genius and a fucked up human. the only way itd be anyway better is if all michael jackson profits went straight to those who survived through what happened.
Not as bad as I thought it’d be!
The IS the day. ‘83. pleasant. didnt grab special attention. i kept losing interest althoug its nice.
Very pleasant and fun but not a hook in the whole album.
Just lovely.
how dare you. is this a joke?
kinda all over the place.
no this is really fun and good
Alone Again Or and The Red Telephone.
bleh the album cover is one of the grossest that has to be out there. I still think ‘Paint It, Black’ is the only good rolling stone song but Moonlit Mile was now absolutely terrible.
Kashmir
Teddy Boy and Maybe I’m Amazed.
Sunday Bloody Sunday, 1983.
I didnt love it as much as the last Reed album but I still like it/him.
this is where easy listening began.
I knew I’d really enjoy it. The classic folk albums on here always have to be excellent.
sad michael
Great singer. Bishop. James Brown tried to but his title of King of Soul.
Way more melodic than I was expecting. ‘Changes’ is a standout.
whoa dang
I actually liked the live additions more than the main album. I liked it but didn’t love it.
the sound and quality of the music, the lyrics, ozzys voice. all so so good.
Could not stop singing Vincent.
Way fun. A few songs really didnt get up to par though.
the Red Hots are somehow both underrated and overrated.
waaaay more country than i was expecting.
peaceful.
Fun!
Very nice. Daddy like.
Love you Andy.
garage. fun. wild. brown.
fun n foreign.
fun! but no everyone is a hit
fun!
Very nearly forgot this.
rock n roll, more like stone and tumble. Black Hole Sun is the hit.
apparently they are something to fucking with.
made me cry actually.
the hit There She Goes is nice, but this album is otherwise aggressively forgettable.
i actually enjoyed more than some hits ive heard.
the 80s were more fun.
i have a weird feeling they are irish or irish leaning.
its fun. i think i need to listen to it a few more times. i didnt love it the way i thought it would the first time like when i heard silver jews or the jam.
Fantastic!
dang. so calm and upbeat at the same time. want to listen to all their stuff now.
i dont know if they went out of their way to be inoffensive but im afraid a lot may have been sacrificed in the process.
last song has lied-on-your-resume energy
I actually really liked Spoilt Victorian child.
really liked What More Can I Say. Seems like an album to cry to.
the 80’s will never happen again. what a crazy time. this album will never be made again. i appreciate that aspect of it.
Straight garbage. Another reminder a stunning amount of people fuckin love boring uninspired modern country.
sounds like 2002 in 1994. Mr. Zorg in Fifth Element. Bristol. femal vocals sound like björk at times then worked with her two years later.
dang.
fun but i didnt like that one sketch.
a persons album about their son who passed away being rated slightly worse than mid is what this website is all about <3
I just don’t feel like one needs to hear TWO live prison albums before they die. Like I agree with one. But can we get a June Carter Cash too? Probably not gonna happen. Maybe. I like his hits tho.
this shit kinda sucks.
The Kinks but can’t help but be excellent.
not horrible, but i think she’sa better composer than singer.
a party that fizzes out a bit at the end.
prolly not for me. Fugazi felt better.
herbie hancock loves to lie.
this album is bad.
what a pair. one of the best songwriters ever and garfunkel.
Man I used to love Queen. Dude can still sing though.
Incredibly pleasant. the folk i like
this guy. Top ten song makers in my humble opinion.
I get that its good but does not a lot for me.
I feel silly I’ve gone so long not listening to a full album of theirs.
dang. what a vibe.
Prince was the man. RIP little dude.
no wave noise. stranger than paradise
creaky. i can see how this was fun during its time though. old dudes lusting after literal teenagers isnt fun anymore.
all the songs run together.
nice surprises should be more frequent on this project. i’m this far though. must. keep. going.
i’m not doing this.
my favorite part was when he had cocaine and shot his girlfriend.
the Far Cry 6 soundtrack slaps
I also like roosters. Im partial to farm animals. Would I own a farm? Would.
I’m not even done with it, but I love every second. my cup of tea.
god damn it. what enlightened fellows.
Lovely and lively.
this is why im doing this. i loved it. exactly right.
better without the jesus song
their main message is “to be a women is to be in romantic pain”
I dont feel for this band the way a lot of people do, and i feel like the radio growing up abused this album. so its hard to hear with new ears, but if i had never heard of them id probably like it more im afraid.
still can’t believe grohl’s reputation took such a sharp turn.
apparently i listened to the whole thing in the car and didn’t pay great attention. its ok.
vibes
theres not much to say. its nice jazzy music. solid but i dont feel much.
man i really like this band. they have the attitude just short of annoying and the dude has a cool voice.
It’s hilarious that Coldplay is such a controversial band. Its funny that people care that hard. But yea, had they kept this energy for later albums things could have been different. i feel like a lot of albums would be getting half stars if that were possible. but then thatd be a scale of 10 i guess.
At least Dave Grohls reputation remains untarnished to this day.
made me fall asleep while driving. thanks Aphex Twin
extreme relevance. extremely controversial takes. genre breaking noise.
Way more melodic and fun than I was expecting based on reviews.
It sounds much less country than expected.
this and another album so heavily bring to mind a hacking sequence in any early 2000’s action film.
Nice Jazz music. One reminded me of Ella
weeeeeedeeeeeeeedeeeeeeeedeeeeedeeeeedeeeeedeeeeedeeediiiiiiiiiiiideeeeeeeeeedeeeeeeeee
Lovely.
this has all the originality and creativity i was hoping for in skunk anansie. fresh and feeling
i wanted to like it more.
radiohead on clearance.
mid. am i going to say something about the beatles that already hasnt been said?
a Roxanne album. its insane i havent heard this before. immaculate. last song they were having fun that’s for sure.
a Kyle album. riiing riiiiing riiin riing rings around the world. at leeeeast its not the the end of the world.
I don’t know. I think she could have said baby a few more times.
I feel like i should like Janis Joplin more but I just cant
I think ive heard these songs too much. Tom Petty seemed like a cool dude tho.
A little bland.
fun!
I looked it a lot. Matched my tender mood.
this women’s voice is so tender
not my fav Zappa album but it’s actually quite lovely.
man. the 80s were so fun and Duran Duran helped it so.
very heaven.
i dont think some of these warrant 10 minute songs.
soundtrack
more masturbatory than i remember.
