Popular Reviews

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees

I don't have much to say. It was a good album. Solid British rock, but wasn't necessarily my vibe.

A friend described this as a step below Coldplay, and I'm in line to agree.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
May 13 2025

I was familiar with a few of these songs, because of Elvis's popularity, but I don't know if I have ever actually listened to any of them until now. They were decent. I definitely liked the faster songs better. I enjoy the walking basslines on some of the tracks and the vibes and feels, however I don't see myself going out of my way to listen to this album again. It was fine....just not very compelling for me.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
May 14 2025

Not my style of music, but I can see why she has fan. Her vocals are strong and soulful. The instruments bring a good backing to the music. Criminal was my favorite song on the album, it makes sense that it has the most streams.

The Score by Fugees
May 15 2025

I like rap, but I don't listen to a lot of it. I enjoyed this album a lot. I was already familiar with "Killing Me Softly With His Song", but there were a few others that I had heard before but never realized with was by Fugees. Overall, I enjoyed the album.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
May 16 2025

I usually don't enjoy live albums, but this one was alright. I like the bluesy feel of the band. Some of the songs went too long though....no song needs to be 23 minutes long.

Juju by Siouxsie And The Banshees
May 19 2025

I don't have much to say. It was a good album. Solid British rock, but wasn't necessarily my vibe.

Purple Rain by Prince
May 20 2025

It's Prince. What more is there to say? The hits are bangers, and even the B-sides are pretty good.

May 21 2025

A good, funky album. I don't spend a ton of time listening to funk. Most of my experience comes from Vulfpeck. But this was good, I enjoyed it.

Street Signs by Ozomatli
May 22 2025

Prior to this challenge I had only head "1234" by Ozomatli. A little surprised it wasn't on this album! Overall the sound was good and the beats were engaging. I liked it.

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
May 23 2025

Album was okay. It really picked up around Super Stupid.

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
May 26 2025

Not my favorite album. I liked the first song, Brown Sugar, but the rest was pretty mid.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
May 27 2025

Good album. I recognized a lot of the songs. A nice, driving rock to listen to while I was commuting.

Bongo Rock by Incredible Bongo Band
May 28 2025

This one was actually kinda fun! Take popular songs and play bongos to them. Like if Donkey Konga was made in the 1970s

The Blueprint by JAY Z
May 29 2025

It was alright. I'm not a rap guy. I know Jay-Z is important to the genre, but I wasn't really feeling it.

May 30 2025

This album was just noise to me. I usually listen to these while I work, but it was very distracting.

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Jun 02 2025

This album was boring. The Beach Boys are a boring band.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jun 03 2025

A good, enjoyable album. It reminded me of the week I spent in Havana and makes me want to go back

Fever To Tell by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Jun 04 2025

An excellent example of indie rock. High energy, Karen O has amazing vocal, and then just when you're feeling good.....Maps drops and you're crying in the club.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen by The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Jun 05 2025

The first song, their most popular song on the album, I wasn't a fan of. The final 30 seconds of it delved into just noise and I was worried that the rest of the album would go that way. However, as it progressed, it started to give me a vibe of The Flaming Lips mixed with Neutral Milk Hotel, two bands that I am a fan of. Overall I enjoyed it.

Technique by New Order
Jun 06 2025

Good classic synthpop. This is like what I listen to on a regular basis.

Imagine by John Lennon
Jun 09 2025

It was fine, I guess. But man, I don't really care for the Beatles.

Red Headed Stranger by Willie Nelson
Jun 10 2025

I'm not a country guy, but it's hard to hate Willie

Searching For The Young Soul Rebels by Dexys Midnight Runners
Jun 11 2025

I honestly didn't know they had other songs aside from Come On Eileen, and this album doesn't have that song at all! They had enough songs for at least TWO whole albums? Wow. Anyway, it was fine.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025

When I saw this was a solo project, I was expecting a different sound. But as I listened to it and read about it, I learned it was a self-published release of a shelved Beach Boys album and definitely hit that vibe. Some of the songs were good, some were a little weird (did not expect to hear goats until I noticed the track title was "Barnyard")

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Jun 16 2025

When I think of "rock bands" this isn't what I was thinking of or really desiring. I prefer faster stuff. But I'm not saying this was bad. If I was just chilling and hanging out with friends, this would be a good background to our activities.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
Jun 17 2025

This would be a good album for a dinner party. Something to have on in the background while you're cooking and mingling. I vibed with it pretty well.

The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Jun 18 2025

This is the kind of vibe I've been looking for. Some fast-paced, fun rock.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Jun 19 2025

Little Richard is fun. I liked this album. I would absolutely listen to it again!

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jun 20 2025

It was an okay album. Obviously "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" were great songs, that's why they get tons of airplay on classic rock radio. The other songs were good, but not great. I didn't hate them, but I didn't love them.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Jun 24 2025
Vulnicura by Björk
Jun 25 2025

An entirely forgettable album

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
Jun 26 2025

I like rockabilly a lot, however I don't like live albums. Alas...

Jun 27 2025

A friend described this as a step below Coldplay, and I'm in line to agree.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Jun 30 2025

The hits were good. The rest was pretty meh

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jul 01 2025

90s hip-hop with some turntable elements. Say no more, fam.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Jul 03 2025

Perfectly serviceable 60's background music

Damaged by Black Flag
Jul 18 2025
Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025
Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Jul 29 2025

Felt like I should have been hosting a fancy dinner party

Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Aug 04 2025
Aug 07 2025

Great album. Eazy-E is still my favorite NWA rapper, but I can get down with some Ice too

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Aug 08 2025

Sounded like generic 60s rock. Nothing stood out, and it sounded like a bunch of other stuff I've already listened to.

So by Peter Gabriel
Aug 11 2025
All Directions by The Temptations
Aug 12 2025

Was not expecting them of all bands to be dropping N-bombs. Really caught me off guard on the 2nd song.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Aug 15 2025

Ambient music that made me want to take drugs and look at space for a while

1984 by Van Halen
Aug 18 2025
Queen II by Queen
Aug 19 2025

This album was a trip (complimentary)

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Aug 20 2025

Another boring album. I played it while working and it never really hooked me

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Aug 22 2025

Aqualung and Locomotive Breath was good. The rest of the songs were okay

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Aug 29 2025

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka

Blue by Joni Mitchell
Sep 17 2025
Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 19 2025
Movies by Holger Czukay
Sep 26 2025

Wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I see "experimental rock" from the 70s and I assume it's just gonna be noise. But this was coherent. It was more jam bandy which isn't my thing, but wasn't terrible.

Oct 09 2025

I can't give it 1 star because it's not unlistenable, but it's very much not my vibe. I understand that I am not the target audience for this album.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Oct 13 2025

This was basically a coffee shop soundtrack. White guy, soft voice, acoustic guitar

Chris by Christine and the Queens
Dec 11 2025
Tommy by The Who
Dec 23 2025
The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Jan 21 2026

Too many skits. Could have afforded to cut those out and just stick to music

Jan 28 2026

It was better than I expected. If there was more Yoko, I probably would have disliked it.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Feb 02 2026
Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Feb 24 2026
Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Feb 27 2026

This wasn't a particularly "good" album, but I still liked it.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Mar 02 2026
With The Beatles by Beatles
Mar 03 2026

Idk, man. They're The Beatles. They're fine. I don't hate them, I don't like them. It's just whatever.

Boston by Boston
Mar 17 2026
Dirty by Sonic Youth
Mar 20 2026
Shadowland by k.d. lang
Mar 25 2026

I did not realize k.d. lang was a country singer. Then I realized I was thinking of KT Tunstall

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 26 2026
Truth by Jeff Beck
Mar 27 2026
Debut by Björk
Mar 30 2026

21 by Adele
Apr 06 2026
Yeezus by Kanye West
Apr 08 2026

The album was okay. Some of the songs had good beats. But it's Kanye....

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Apr 10 2026

It's always fun to hear songs that I only know because they were sampled in other songs.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Apr 13 2026

It was fine I guess, but I'm not really a jazz guy

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Apr 27 2026
Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
Apr 28 2026
Frank by Amy Winehouse
May 04 2026
Stankonia by OutKast
May 11 2026

The songs were good, but there were too many interludes and skits. Why did so many 90s and 2000s hip hop albums include them?

Faith by George Michael
May 13 2026
Gris Gris by Dr. John
May 14 2026

I did not do enough drugs to appreciate psychedelic rock. This was just straight up bad.

Be by Common
May 18 2026
Figure 8 by Elliott Smith
May 19 2026

It wasn't bad. Elliott is a talented musician, but god the album was boring

Moss Side Story by Barry Adamson
May 20 2026

I loved the concept, a soundtrack album for a fake movie. But I've heard better ones. "Internal Affairs" by Sunglasses Kid blows this one out of the water.

Cut by The Slits
May 22 2026

britpunk...normally I'm fine with it, but this one was pretty bad

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
May 26 2026

It's not Rumors, but it was okay

Too Rye Ay by Dexys Midnight Runners
May 28 2026
Live! by Fela Kuti

It was okay, but I still don't like live albums. This one was better because it was live in studio instead of live on stage.

Closer by Joy Division
Jun 11 2026
Shaka Zulu by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
Jul 03 2026

I won't deny that they're talented singers. But listening to a choir is not my vibe

Lost Souls by Doves
Jul 16 2026

It was fine. Generic indie rock but fine.

Young Americans by David Bowie
Jul 20 2026

It was fine. David Bowie is fine.

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Jul 24 2026

Not a big afrobeat guy

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Jul 27 2026

The two most popular songs in the album are used in almost every commercial ever. That was fun to learn
