Dirty
Sonic YouthI really like some of their songs, but overall it's a bit noisy for me.
I really like some of their songs, but overall it's a bit noisy for me.
Radiohead are my fav band, love it.
Nice enough
Not my thing. Classic albums are going to be hard for me on this thing. I really don't like classic rock.
I don't like jazz, or classic rock, or long meandering songs with noodly guitar. I don't think this link should have been to the expanded version also?
Funny, how I know Highway Star is from Rock & Roll Racing on SNES. But I still don't like these classic rock sounds.
The only BDB song I had heard before this was the one on the UNKLE album. This one is nice though.
I knew the (Jon Davis) Folk Implosion was jokingly named after these guys but never heard them before. Blues isn't my thing but this is more punk rock blues I guess. It's noisy. I see the Elvis singing White Stripes comparisons people are making for sure.
I really don't like saxophone in songs, lol.
Never heard of this at all before this. First album on here that I've really liked out of nowhere.
I had heard one other song by Doves before this. Alright, bright sounding.
Had never heard of this before. I like it. Punk sounding stuff.
This I think will be my first 1/5 rating, as I'm only 12 albums in. I probably have heard a few T. Rex songs on the classic rock station, but I really dislike classic rock, and apparently I really don't like glam rock also, as I found this very grating. This was the first time I actually starting skipping songs as I went as I couldn't stand them anymore.
Not a fan. Can't stand gospel, country and soul sounds. My mom loved Elvis I guess, but I don't remember her playing it when I was a kid really. But I do not. That crooning is too much.
I remember hearing of this band, but not sure I really heard any songs before now. Probably a bit too harsh sounding vocals for my tastes, but the music side is good.
First time hearing. It was alright, I liked the different feels of the 2nd half.
Ah, Steve Albini's band, I had heard of, but never actually heard. It was ok (post?) punk stuff.
I saw some of the comments saying this is something like "baroque-leaning psych pop". This is mostly too light and pop for my tastes. Oh, Time of the Season, ya, even I know this one, was used in movies and stuff. It's good, but ya, the rest is forgettable.
Noodly guitar doesn't really do it for me. Also a big no to funk and soul.
I really don't like country sounds. I do like the Neil Young folky stuff though.
I dunno, I'm not a fan of bluesy stuff. And this is pretty repetitive. And never was a fan of guitar noodling.
I knew the big singles, but never listened to the album before this. Some of those have grown on me, but overall the style isn't really for me.
Not really my thing.
All sounds pretty samey to me.
I'm a big REM fan. Love this album, a bunch of great songs on it.
Not a fan. Used to hear black magic woman on the radio all the time, never liked classic stuff. Guitar stuff like this just doesn't do it for me.
I had only heard the singles before this. But I found the other songs pretty enjoyable also.
I only knew a few Smiths songs, haven't heard any solo stuff before this. I liked it.
I really dislike classic rock sounds like this. But I guess it's not completely horrible.
I had heard the singles on the radio, but I really didn't like classic rock so I never really cared for them.
I had only heard of the name, except I think there was a cover of one of their songs on a Sebadoh album I had. It's interesting, punk but like jazzy also.
Not sure if I really knew any songs by them before. It's interesting, very enjoyable.
This is very 80s cheese to me.
Had never heard of this before now. I can hear how it might have influenced REM and Pixies for sure.
This is my 2nd Morrissey album on here, haven't heard this before either. I like this probably more than the last one.
I know a few Neil Young songs, but haven't heard a lot. Tell Me Why I actually knew only from the cover that Hayden did. I'm a huge Hayden fan and I know Neil Young is a big influence of his. Oh Southern Man, I knew this one too, used to play on the radio. I like the folky and rocky sides, but the country sounding stuff not so much.
This definitely isn't my thing. I dislike the parts that were more celtic or country sounding a lot. The folky parts were ok.
This kind of genre is really hit or miss for me, just comes across as a collection of background music to me I guess.
I'll be honest, I skipped most of these songs after 30 seconds as I couldn't stand any more. I hate country sounds and whatever else genres this classifies as I guess.
I actually liked it more than I thought I would. I'm not a fan of the singles I knew before this, but this album seemed pretty decent.
Never heard of this before. Some of the vocals remind me of Dead Kennedys, that warble. I like the punky sound.
I was already a big fan of this album. I'm a fan of Arcade Fire, well the older albums at least. The Suburbs and Ready to Start are a great 1-2 album opener.
Not really my thing.
Maybe if I read the lyrics there would be more there, but just hearing it without that it didn't seem interesting.
Ugh, I hate celtic type sounds. But the 2nd song wasn't bad. And country sounding ones, and anytime a fiddle gets involved are ugh to me too...
Eh, it was very low end of ok for me
I knew some of the singles and I really like those. But the other funk songs aren't really my thing. I went in thinking I was going to give this a 4 based on the singles, but I think the other songs mean I have to go with a 3.
Going into this, I already knew and really liked the singles, Time to Pretend, Electric Feel and Kids. First time hearing the rest of the album, and it sounds good too!
