Bob Dylan
1/5
To explain this album and rating I will use a baking analogy. Bob for some reason decides to bake with three ingredients eggs, flour, and milk. He decides to put the eggs in without cracking them and putting them in whole. Then he puts in stale milk because he wants to and he forgot the flour so he serves you this unbaked milk egg thing. The flour represented sense because it didn’t make sense. The egg represented his harmonica because it was atrocious and he didn’t know how to use it. The milk was his voice which has expired.

Bob Dylan
3/5
He kept the same sounds throughout and it had Woodstock vibes
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
1/5
Makes no sense so bad that I simply could no finish it at all. It troubled me at a concerning level. It felt like a man was trying to force an album in a bad way. It was a collage of music that didn’t flow.
Violent Femmes
4/5
Pretty solid could definitely hear where some bands took from them.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
4/5
Classic Chili’s sounds and words
Moby
4/5
I understand both sides of the love it and hate it. I think it’s a fringe 3 or 4 star. It’s one that has airport type vibes. I don’t think the classification of it being electronic is fully true however I do here some influence on certain electronic/EDM artists like ILLENIUM, Kygo, and Blasterjaxx (those 3 are way more electronic). It’s also a LoFi type music to it (It’s not music I would listen to while studying). Another possible artists who he could have influenced maybe is JVKE (shoutout to Gen Z, he’s an okay artist great piano). The only complaint is the repetition of words like the lyrics were good but it was just repeat, repeat, repeat for a couple songs. Would I listen to him again on my own without someone offering me anything? Yes, yes I would because he has a calm yet tech-no style. All in all a rather interesting listen.
Sonic Youth
2/5
One word: weird. Two words: really weird. Three words: Makes no sense.
Four words: Explain this to me. It was just weird some were calm than some were loud and yelling
Derek & The Dominos
4/5
4.5-Pretty good. No other words needed
Beach House
3/5
Nothing to like and nothing not to like. Airport music.
AC/DC
4/5
His voice might not be the best, but they have great guitar play, lyrics, and they are too iconic to give a bad rating.
Roxy Music
1/5
Definitely 70s and not good at all
Kelela
1/5
Repetition. She just needs to be more diverse in styles
Peter Gabriel
5/5
He’s simply too good. All of his songs are good in lyrics and sound.
The Beach Boys
5/5
For Gen Z and Gen Alpha, you would think they should like this because all the songs are short. Even if the lyrics are sad it is still a very impressive and classic album
Public Image Ltd.
1/5
It sounds like giving a baby a microphone while having a tantrum. I like long songs but these were not good because it was the whole album
System Of A Down
1/5
It’s so loud that you can’t even hear the words. For people who like to stereotype, this is your classic thrash metal band.
The Clash
3/5
It was decent. I don’t what else to say
Eagles
4/5
The Eagles know how to make a long song not sound boring or drab. Such a great listen overall.
Public Enemy
3/5
They were right in the first song about there being controversy in the rap world around lyrics. Some of their lyrics arguably has to lead to where the rap world is today regarding cussing and using slurs. Also 911 is a joke has aged poorly.
Herbie Hancock
3/5
It sounds like good background music especially at a restaurant. The only complaint is that he could have broken up each of the songs into another. I say that because they all changed style at some point.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
1/5
If I knew what they were saying in English, then it would be better. They also only use the title as the only words in the song. It gets to a point where it’s just the same thing.
Sex Pistols
2/5
I can see why the band broke up not long after.
Pretenders
3/5
It was decent. The lady’s voice is pretty good, so she probably carried them in the album.
Stevie Wonder
4/5
All of his songs are very good top to bottom, so it’s close to a 5.
Deee-Lite
2/5
It was alright there was a bit of repetition, and if you have to drive back home quickly to go to the bathroom then you will have a better view on it.
Air
2/5
Would have been a 4 if it wasn’t for the creepy and disturbing last song. I understand the last song relation to the movie but keep it out of there.
But this was all out of context because I have not seen the movie.
Circle Jerks
3/5
Classic punk and definitely influenced Blink-182
Dusty Springfield
4/5
I did not know what to expect but she has a great voice and the style was very unified.
Isaac Hayes
3/5
It was going to be a 4 until the last song. I had a more positive view of it because I played it without looking at how long the album was how many songs there were. The last song took forever to get to his point.
Fairport Convention
4/5
I was thoroughly impressed. They varied in styles, and they nailed the folk aspect.
Ian Dury
1/5
I’m surprised that it was even allowed to get published but it was the 70s. Es profundamente perturbador.
Primal Scream
4/5
They kept you on your toes for every song which is good.
Talking Heads
5/5
I thought it was solid and contrasted each song well
The Strokes
5/5
I was shocked because I didn’t think it was going to be that good!!!
Siouxsie And The Banshees
4/5
Was not expecting them to be this good, but the sounds were spot on and sounded great
Echo And The Bunnymen
4/5
A classic 80’s album
Run-D.M.C.
5/5
I didn’t realize they had all of these hits of one album and I was proud that they had a song about Adidas because I an a proud Adidas shoe owner
CHIC
5/5
I never thought I would like disco
Led Zeppelin
5/5
One of the best first album a band has ever done.
The Flaming Lips
4/5
I am not a fan of modern art. I would compare them to Salvador Dali. They both tell interesting stories, and I think I was more a fan of the sounds than some of the lyrics.
Korn
2/5
I just don’t know.
Curtis Mayfield
3/5
Surprisingly good.
The Velvet Underground
3/5
Very calm and it’s 80’s background music for a club or a bar
Metallica
3/5
If it was shorter and cut down, it would be better
Adele
5/5
She’s a great voice end of story
The Vines
5/5
I could hear some Weezer in them but like current Weezer. I really liked the creepy changing tempos
Tori Amos
3/5
I could hear the Catholic in her but sheesh she didn’t need to say all oddness that she did.
Neil Young
4/5
I didn’t care for him talking about Vampires that just seemed weird but other than that it flowed well lyrically and stylistically
Elvis Presley
4/5
I did not fully know what to expect because he’s Elvis. His album was good he was to the point in his songs and wasn’t dragging it out for like 10 minutes for no reason whatsoever.
Deep Purple
3/5
It would have been higher, but two songs could have been cut in half. The first halves of both were instrumental which is fine, but the second it ended the whole song changed into another song. It was 2 songs in 1 but it didn’t work
Tim Buckley
3/5
I understand the complaints about it being about war and peace but it sounded good. The complaint I have is about Goodbye and Hello because it should have been 4 different songs.
The Who
2/5
I like the explanation of the songs, but 2 songs combined should not be close to 30 minutes. I don’t want to hear a story in half an hour. I would want it to be in <7 minutes
Meat Loaf
3/5
I didn’t like the Dashboard by whatever. I see why people dislike and like him. I honestly don’t care. I will sit on top of the fence and not move.
Michael Kiwanuka
5/5
I really like how one song flowed to another. It was a interesting fusion of several genres as well.
Antony and the Johnsons
2/5
The piano saved it from being a 1 star
David Bowie
3/5
I don’t know what to say, so I will say I liked the instrumentals
a-ha
3/5
A classic 80’s album
Eminem
1/5
He was a troubled young man
The Prodigy
2/5
I am not sure what to take away
The Human League
3/5
It the 80’s so classic. Anyone who doesn’t give it a decent score is disrespecting the decade.
Leonard Cohen
3/5
He can tell a story but is it good that’s up to you
The Smiths
3/5
Morrissey has the elagance as almost a hockey player skating on ice. He makes sad songs not seem that sad
The Smashing Pumpkins
3/5
Some of the songs are too much but others like the first song allow the listener to clear their mind from the madness made out of sadness
The Isley Brothers
3/5
Would be a 3.5 but the interviews. I like being able to listen to an interview about the album, but these were interwoven in an interesting manner. I think the music being mixed with it was smart, but it also seemed to take away from the overall thoughts. The instrumentals were good
Justin Timberlake
2/5
If you are a big boy band fan, this is for you
Leonard Cohen
2/5
Words:Cohen=concept:air
Os Mutantes
4/5
While I only knew a couple words, it was upbeat and happy. You wanted to go to a beach and sing (especially Jimmy Buffet)
Janelle Monáe
4/5
I see why she acts and sings. She kept the album flowing together throughout making it simpler and easier to comprehend
David Bowie
2/5
I mean he’s alright. He just is weird especially by having songs titled about other artists. He should have listed them in the lyrics or something else. That is very minor though. I don’t know what else to say besides repeating he’s weird
3/5
Only because of star man. It is a bit overplayed/hyped up too much. I get that it is an alter ego but it is still weird
CHVRCHES
3/5
Was there a lot of repetition? Yes. Did it change each song? Kind of. Was her voice good? Yes. Was it good? Yes and no that’s why it’s a three. It is neither good or bad
Tracy Chapman
4/5
I knew fast car and she has a great voice along with some interesting lyrics
Beck
5/5
No words needed
The Doors

Leonard Cohen
2/5
I don’t understand why he is on this list. He is not that good or deserving of it.
Miles Davis
4/5
Did it blow me away? No, but I enjoyed it because it was calm and soothing background music
Saint Etienne
2/5
I understand the talking parts but I don’t fully grasp how they fit in maybe I just was not paying that close of attention to it
N.W.A.
2/5
I for one am not from Compton. I do see its impact on today’s rap/hip-hop
Arcade Fire
4/5
Many styles that produced greats songs throughout the album. Enough said
Cocteau Twins
4/5
Inaudible but still have fun/interesting sounds. That’s all I need and you need to know about this album
Christina Aguilera
2/5
She was just whiny and whiny in her voice and then the same with her songs towards the end
The Beta Band
2/5
I lost attention and couldn’t tell you anything because of how boring it was
Sade
2/5
Might as well add a sad version of Fly me to the moon since it’s so sad
Charles Mingus
3/5
Trumpet both good and bad
Neneh Cherry
2/5
What makes it make this list because it did not seem to reach any threshold at all
Elvis Costello
5/5
A stunner, he very much is great at combining styles into a great short album. It was like biting into a food you never had before
Pulp
3/5
Nothing too bad or nothing too great
Bon Jovi
5/5
This album did not give itself a bad name.
A Tribe Called Quest
2/5
Some of it didn’t feel like sampling. It felt like straight up plagiarism. This album was not good with an awful cup of cheating on the side
Fleet Foxes
4/5
Has an interesting folk mixed with the beach boys feel that works very well together
Dexys Midnight Runners
3/5
Had the same consistent sounds throughout and I wasn’t a fan of the talking. They just didn’t use it right, and it is hard to use talking in music.
Queen
4/5
There were many styles that were fused very well into one. It was complete from beginning to end. It was not full of the annoying, overplayed songs, so it was a fresh of breath air for nonQuenn listeners or people who dislike Queen
Arcade Fire
2/5
It is like watching tv and then without doing anything you slowly start to tune it out
The Charlatans
2/5
It was just a bit weird
Amy Winehouse
2/5
I understand that sometimes using a major key can work with sad, depressing lyrics but it didn’t here. Also, it is sad that she was mocking people who were trying to stop her from killing herself. This is straight up one of the most depressing albums EVER
Thundercat
2/5
I understand the dislike due to the style and lyrics but it is just a really weird album and I don’t know what to give it.
Elton John
5/5
Beltin Elton knows how to write and sing great songs. I understand why people won’t like this due to the length but the storytelling is pretty good. I might listen to this again. Just remember Beltin Elton
Supertramp
3/5
I was confused by the silence in the first song but the instrumentals were great
Ministry
1/5
I understand why they made the list but oh my is this awful after a while it felt like you needed to just hear nothing and be fine
Public Image Ltd.
1/5
Let’s just say I am glad it’s over and it should be listed as controversial due to his rather interesting thoughts on religion
Judas Priest
4/5
The guitar is very solid and it is very well built and structured throughout
Foo Fighters
5/5
Definitely not their best and they deserve more
Radiohead
5/5
I am always a fan of them but this isn’t their best album however there are still great songs on it
Big Black
1/5
I just want to know who thought this album is good and has a big enough impact to be on this list because frankly it is not.
Count Basie & His Orchestra
5/5
It was one of those albums in which you listened to the first track and knew it was going to be great from beginning to end.
Van Halen
4/5
Such a legendary band however some of the song lyrics were not the best
Johnny Cash
5/5
For some reason it reminded me of O Brother Where Art Thou partially due to it occurring at a prison and some of the songs. Everyone seemed to be enjoying Cash’s music which was very good
The Icarus Line
2/5
They sound like a really bad Radiohead mixed with Muse like really bad not listen to them occasionally but listen to them never bad. But I could be wrong because they could be even worse than stated
Jane's Addiction
3/5
I think it was a decent album. I understand the dislike towards his voice but overall a bit surprising and unexpected because I probably was expecting hard rock
Jean-Michel Jarre
1/5
It sounded celestial which is cool until you listen to the rest of the album and say this isn’t cool it does not vary a lot.
Bob Dylan
Jefferson Airplane
3/5
I enjoyed hearing different singers and they probably should have a sung a couple songs not about love because that was the only subject the entire time
Klaxons
3/5
A solid surprise. I didn’t know what to expect but it was a solid little band and I understand why it is on the list because some of their songs really style wise are a part of the alt-pop scene now
Sepultura
1/5
This album was designed to make you angry. It did for me. It made me angry about having to listen to this. The constant heavy drums make you feel like you are at a construction site which is also where you happen to be inside a coffin getting nailed very loudly. I just don’t like it. I reached this conclusion very early on when listening to it. Also it is just too much all around along with every time you get a brief break they come back even more stronger. Another thing is he is just yelling which I know is a part of this metal sub genre but I don’t know what he is saying. This music is an atrocity to society. A suggestion is to listen to calm music afterwards.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
4/5
It sounded like your Grandpa’s music that he had on a record player. It was simple and was catchy throughout
Frank Zappa
3/5
I enjoyed listening to it except his saxophone skills it was so whiny and off key
Jorge Ben Jor
4/5
I enjoyed it. It was good. I thought in one of the songs he sounded like Sting but Brazilian Sting. The sound was upbeat and they all sounded happy.
2Pac
2/5
I understand why it’s on here but is it good? No. Should it have been in the book? That is up for debate so it wasn’t the best but it was far down close to the bottom of rankings for me
Emmylou Harris
4/5
I liked it, but my takeaway was even as a person born post 2000 why did country music slowly tear itself apart rather than being original which can work
The Velvet Underground
1/5
Wooooaaaaaah, bloooooaaaaa, and spuuuuul is random sounds that for some reason make up this album and it is wildly confusing overall. No me gusta Velvet Underground.
Johnny Cash
5/5
Has to be up there for one of the greatest albums regarding covered songs (I know some are new songs of his)
Nina Simone
3/5
This is given due to her voice so a 3.5. I understand if you don’t like her voice but I did
Can
1/5
It turns into background music which then turns into nothing. Music isn’t meant to be nothing but Can sure made it happen
Def Leppard
4/5
Wasn’t expecting to like it because I am not into hair metal but it blew me away especially with the guitar
Jethro Tull
3/5
Did I agree with his lyrics all the time?
-no
Was I impressed with the flute?
-yes
Was I blown away from the album due to its amazingness?
-no, not really because it was just average
Iron Maiden
3/5
I enjoyed the guitar everything else was alright but I understand why they are on the list after listening to them
Buena Vista Social Club
4/5
I feel like it got a bit repetitive but it definitely didn’t hurt them because it was so good
Turbonegro
1/5
I do feel like some of us doing this list have better writing skills
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
4/5
I don’t understand the hate if you heard all the other songs as hits you would like them. The album wasn’t 100% polished but it was still really good
The Triffids
2/5
Very much a wannabe band
Yes
3/5
It didn’t blow me away or say this is awful
Cat Stevens
5/5
There was something about that which screamed greatness. It felt old timey and just fun to be around. He made it feel like we all knew it and a couple had the makings of camp songs
Beatles
4/5
Definitely an underrated album by the Beatles but towards the end I started to question why they did a double track. The second track was extremely subpar from the first because they were just putting stuff together and hoping it will go together
The Doors
3/5
It was better than LA Woman
Supergrass
3/5
I could not always understand the lyrics but the songs were pretty good
The Rolling Stones
3/5
I hadn’t ever listened to a full album of Rolling Stones. The guitar was very good and I am shocked that they are still touring because they didn’t seem like a perfect inform band in this album
Elliott Smith
3/5
I liked the style and arrangement of some of the songs but it didn’t mesh with the words like the Everything means nothing to me. It sounded great but the lyrics said otherwise
Jamiroquai
3/5
The first couple songs had me saying this is pretty good but then it started to repeat so that is why it’s a 3
CHIC
2/5
It just felt to repetitive. If you would consider this disco, I would say I understand why it’s dead
George Michael
3/5
His cover of Stevie Wonder was great but a couple times he sounded like he belonged in a boy band which are not the best bands
Sigur Rós
2/5
The first couple songs had me enjoying the album. However as the album progressed it just felt worse and worse
Radiohead
5/5
It’s a scattered brain album that works great. The instrumental helped improve the overall sound in a delightful way
1/5
The concept was odd and honestly I don’t know why it exists
Chicago
2/5
At first, I thought it was great and amazing, but then I heard the amount of guitar solos and was just like when will this end. Going into the album, I knew a couple songs and I still enjoy them somewhat
The Byrds
3/5
It’s alright
Marty Robbins
5/5
It certainly shocked me. It found a way to tell great cowboy stories over and over. It is something that everyone should appreciate old, old stories
Sufjan Stevens
3/5
It was enjoyable and unexpected; however, it seemed a bit long.
Talk Talk
3/5
Pretty good. I only knew of one song going into it that was by them. I actually enjoyed his voice which helped elevate their unique style.
The Band
3/5
It stays in the middle the entire time. It doesn’t get better or worse just the same sound over and over so if you like it good if not you are in for a long 40+ minutes. It’s a 3 because like mentioned above it doesn’t change at all to make it go up or down
Manu Chao
4/5
It had a very unique style and my small Spanish vocabulary helped me understand what he was singing and saying throughout
Leonard Cohen
3/5
So this is the last Leonard Cohen album I have had to listen to. I am glad about that but he actually put forth a fairly decent album. It was the best one of the list. I didn’t like the raspy not talk not fully singing he was attempting to do. The lyrics I actually enjoyed a little bit. Takeaway: It is true for Leonard Cohen he saved the best for last despite his overall failures on his previous albums which were awful.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
Pretty solid. He started/continued a style most people didn’t know and he’s great
John Grant
1/5
He was singing why don’t you take this out on someone else. He did and it wasn’t good. This album could have been salvaged if it was like the first couple songs but no that didn’t happen. Therapy is what he needed and he briefly mentioned someone else going to it but not him which was the problem. This album was a mistake. Lastly, I don’t understand the love for him. I could continue on that but I don’t want to because of the pitiful attempt at music this was. As you can tell in my comments, I am making an attempt at how the album progressed.
The Only Ones
2/5
After two songs, it just became random noise that I just blocked out which was probably for the better
The Slits
1/5
It just sounds like garbled vowels and occasional consonants due to annunciation problems but I think that might be in part due to me not being a big fan of the punk scene. If there was an option to vote for albums off the list, I would gladly use it on this because it’s just weird from beginning to end
Arcade Fire
4/5
Just as good as the other album. It was very close to a five just because of the whole set up and execution of the album was amazing
Steely Dan
4/5
Pretty chill, an easy listen. I think you get the point it’s calm and nice
Crosby, Stills & Nash
3/5
Pretty solid. They all worked well and meshed together. It could be a 4 but I don’t know
Beastie Boys
5/5
I know this may not be their best but it is such a classic from top to bottom
Elastica
3/5
Alright
Ray Charles
5/5
A classic album that was enjoyable from start to finish. The drop off if any was extremely minute unlike other albums on this list which start strong and then a bomb hits it and it stinks
Al Green
4/5
His style was very smooth and legato-ish. Remained consistent almost the entire time
Morrissey
4/5
Oddly good and weird
Red Hot Chili Peppers
5/5
The Chili’s never fail to impress
AC/DC
4/5
I enjoyed it more than I expected it. I went in with this will probably be a 3 but the consistency and execution were very good regarding the style of play. I probably will listen to it again
Prince
2/5
I learned that I am not a fan of him or his lyrics
Arrested Development
3/5
Not usual hip hop but it was decent. It was neither good or bad. I feel like I should give it 3.5 if possible
Slipknot
1/5
I hope you didn’t have a headache before hand because that will be a long 58 minutes
Nirvana
3/5
Definitely not their best and I felt like Kurt was yelling a lot BUT that is very understandable given what happened not long after this album was released
Steely Dan
4/5
Good style and lyrics. I forgot that I liked their voices a lot. I would say I would listen to them again but I don’t know if I will
Prince
3/5
He’s a better showman than a musician
Queens of the Stone Age
2/5
I think that the skill level wasn’t exactly good because of the guitar play. If the skill was better, it would be a 3
Alice Cooper
3/5
I didn’t think I would like him and I kinda do. With that being said, the lyrics were odd
My Bloody Valentine
2/5
It seemed a bit odd. I do enjoy some distortion but not as much as this album.
Björk
3/5
She has a distinct voice and I thought the instruments she used was solid and unexpected
Alanis Morissette
4/5
A comforting sadness despite it me not being sad beforehand or after
Roxy Music
2/5
Turned into a bunch of nothingness and faded overtime
David Ackles
3/5
For a 10 minute song, Montana was pretty solid. The overall storytelling was pretty good but some of the lyrics were not my style so I wanted to give it a 4 so maybe 3.5
The Jesus And Mary Chain
2/5
It just turned into nothingness and I feel like I have said that a lot recently regarding albums
Stan Getz
5/5
They meshed well together and the guitar was very good sadly I don’t know how to say that in Portuguese
Ramones
4/5
The execution of short songs were very good. Everyone of them nailed their part and I was a bit surprised to like them this much
Public Enemy
1/5
It just wasn’t my style. I understand what they were campaigning for and the overall importance that have. Overall, it just wasn’t pleasant.
Astor Piazzolla
3/5
It is easy to think that it is worthy of all the stars but 3 makes the most sense because it did repeat a lot but it was decent background music.
k.d. lang
3/5
Eh, it just didn’t really trip my trigger. I just can’t put my finger on it but it wasn’t my style
The Flaming Lips
4/5
I really liked the distortion that they put in and it was just fun and really odd in a good way. It was very unexpected even though I had heard two songs going in.
Hugh Masekela
3/5
This album was going to receive at least a 4 but the length of the songs was pointless. The songs were decent but every song doesn’t have to last 6+ minutes.
Sleater-Kinney
2/5
A bit too whiny and pitchy but I am not signed to a record like this band
T. Rex
3/5
A bit of funk and spunk made it somewhat interesting.
Ray Charles
5/5
He never ceases to impress me. His style is very unique and executed very. His songwriting is also impressive he is a bard or poet writing ballads in the albums.
Pixies
3/5
Meh
Soundgarden
5/5
Such a legendary band, and I forgot that some of their best songs were on there. Definitely, they were influential in the grunge era
Mercury Rev
3/5
3.5 mainly due to the instrumentals it would be higher but there was too much repetition for me and his voice wasn’t the best
1/5
Should not be on the list and Limp Bizkit needs to reevaluate their style of music
The Avalanches
1/5
It made no sense why it should be on this list. It was just samples and way too many of them
Sister Sledge
3/5
Had one hit wonder vibes and I am not much of a disco person
John Lennon
2/5
His voice is decent and I think that in some of the songs the instruments mainly the piano gave me a more positive view
Metallica
2/5
There’s a reason why the top songs that they are best known for are their best songs because the rest are not good at all
New Order
3/5
I know some don’t like the background music but it’s decent and somewhat enjoyable
The Band
3/5
Guitar definitely carried most of it
The Rolling Stones
4/5
John Martyn
4/5
He didn’t sound along with his music like the 70’s it felt more current
JAY Z
1/5
He is way tooo overhyped
Ghostface Killah
1/5
Too many curse words you don’t need to curse so much
Beastie Boys
5/5
All I have in my head is Shake your Rump stuck in my head because of the Goldbergs
David Bowie
2/5
I could say I’m sorry but I’m not his voice is just annoying. I can only tolerate a certain amount
The Stooges
2/5
I’m a bit confused regarding the length of the longest song. Frankly, they were decent but that song definitely soured my view of them
Funkadelic
1/5
Excessive guitar
Minor Threat
3/5
Too much screaming
DJ Shadow
3/5
The drums were alright which was what seemed to be used a lot thus it determined what rating it received
The White Stripes
3/5
Seven Nation Army is a good but not amazing song. It is also overplayed. I think that Jack White sounds better solo
Pink Floyd
5/5
The fact that they can do a double track and make it really good is impressive. They are one of the only bands that can execute a long song. It is definitely a classic album.
The Mothers Of Invention
2/5
It’s a bit weird, actually scratch that a fair amount weird. It seems that he was stoned the entire album
Dolly Parton
4/5
Never actually listened to a whole Dolly Parton album and it was surprisingly good and unexpected like the harmonies
3/5
It was alright there was nothing to crazy or anything that screamed this is sooooo good
3/5
I’m not a big fan of his voice but I think the instruments did their part as in they offset his voice to make it a 3 if his voice was slightly better it would be a 4
The White Stripes
3/5
I think I still like Jack’s voice. Nothing too bad or good about it. It lands right in the middle.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
Stories are pretty good even if his voice isn’t the best convey decent things
The Coral
4/5
A bit surprising, his voice was actually quite good or pleasant to listen to and the other various instruments certainly spiced things up a bit with interesting lyrics as well
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
3/5
He is alright and the album was alright clearly a direct relationship between the two
Rush
4/5
That one ten or nine minute song made it not be a 5 because it could have been shortened. Other than that the vocals and instruments were very solid.
Orbital
2/5
Ah yes, everyone’s favorite sound of over sampling and making you go insane as a result
David Crosby
3/5
Never heard of him or just never paid attention to him. He was decent but not crazy good
Doves
3/5
The first track wasn’t the best while the others were decent due to the first track it’s a 3 and the rest being alright as well
The War On Drugs
3/5
Ah nothing like a slightly better Bob Dylan
Elliott Smith
3/5
His voice was pretty and I would say some old school vibes with it
Pink Floyd
5/5
They are up there for one of the best bands of all time. They are one of the only bands that is good at having 7+ minutes songs on an album and it’s still enjoyable and impressive given nowadays a typical song is at most 5 minutes but slightly above 2 minutes
Jane's Addiction
3/5
Not a big fan of the lead singer’s voice but there’s a reason some of those songs are popular because they are solid but not solid lyrically
The Who
2/5
It seemed good for the first couple songs but then you just wanted it to end quickly but it didn’t
Parliament
2/5
It felt too repetitive and didn’t change a lot in each song
Pulp
3/5
I actually liked it more than I expected. The main song I liked was Help the Aged because the lyrics were valid and strong at the same time
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
Marley kept his classic style in it and he sounded very good and the band worked together well with the lyrics and his voice
Fiona Apple
2/5
You don’t have to complain every song. The world isn’t that bad nor is her life
James Brown
3/5
I’m not much of a live album guy but he did a solid job and made it more enjoyable than other artists live albums
The Black Crowes
3/5
I thought that it was incredibly easy to just tune it out and not fully listen to it but the guitar was alright
Hüsker Dü
3/5
Maybe slightly shorter and the style itself was decent
Lambchop
2/5
Bad,bad, bad voice and it made no sense at all
Iron Butterfly
3/5
Probably could have been shortened a bit and it did sound like your usual 60’s/70’s psychedelic rock
Prince
2/5
I certainly don’t believe the hype. I didn’t before and don’t know because his voice just starts to get annoying just like Costanza in Seinfeld saying Costanza to a possible girlfriend and then said girlfriend is like I can’t get that name out of my head. Also you don’t need a bunch of long songs
Bob Dylan
2/5
The Bon Dylan in my book doesn’t have the best voice and that was for sure the case in this album (chapter)
Heaven 17
2/5
Why repeat so much
Billy Bragg
2/5
A waste of time for sure his smugness was a bit much
PJ Harvey
4/5
Nice voice fits ‘90s mold
Lorde
2/5
No need to complain that much, come on man
De La Soul
2/5
One word to describe it is baffling. I thought the first song with the introductions was interesting and I would not have expanded on it at certain parts of the album. At this point, I am not surprised that such an idiotic, stupid, and pointless album is on the list. Sooooooo many great artists don’t have many albums but you gave these bums an album come on man. Also why does Apple Music have it in their top 100 albums of all time. This is just not worthy of that but it’s all subjective.
Pet Shop Boys
3/5
They had some decent moments in the album but not an amazing stellar moments that took your breath away or made you say wow
Killing Joke
3/5
Probably not worthy of being on the list and another mediocre British band. Why can’t we have more American or Canadian bands
Black Sabbath
5/5
Was it my favorite style? No but it was enjoyable and solid overall. I already like Ozzy though. The guitar was remarkable.
Sarah Vaughan
5/5
I didn’t know what yo expect but she has a wonderful voice
Coldplay
5/5
Such a great album from the lyrics to instruments. It’s amazing and so good. I’ve heard it before several times and it ages like a fine wine
Marilyn Manson
1/5
Abhorrent, disgraceful, and bad representation of music in general. At one point, the screaming just turned into nothingness because of how bad it was. It made me realize that some artists are bad and should never had their music published. It wasn’t enjoyable and I wouldn’t force this on anyone to listen at all
Various Artists
5/5
Didn’t expect it to be this good but solid Christmas songs were on it
Super Furry Animals
1/5
In one word: lackluster or incoherent
Pixies
3/5
I’m not a fan of all their covers to their albums but overall it was a decent album. I can find the voice of the lead singer to get annoying pretty quickly. Where is my mind is a great song but just like previously stated I find Black Francis to be a pain and that is why covers of that song are way better than it.
Curtis Mayfield
3/5
The problem was the falsetto. The style wasn’t my favorite but it was executed well and was decent
Hole
3/5
Her voice started to pinch a nerve not hit it because it was tolerable
Paul Revere & The Raiders
3/5
Like the Beach Boys but not to the same degree

MGMT

Nick Drake

A very chill and calming album which was much needed because some of the past albums were a pain to listen to, but this was enjoyable.
Paul Simon
3/5
It was a bit weird lyrically but still fun and enjoyable to listen to
SZA
1/5
Not of a fan of any of it
Traffic
3/5
It was alright not great and I’m not a big 70’s guy but it was decent overall
Metallica
5/5
I enjoy Metallica but not adore it. This album encompasses all of their high abilities of playing guitar great, singing great, and having great lyrics.
U2
5/5
Such a classic album that is up there for best album of all time
Frank Ocean
3/5
I’m not a big fan of him to begin with and still don’t understand how Apple Music has Blonde in top 5 albums of all time
Ryan Adams
3/5
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long
The Bees
3/5
Decent. It was enjoyable but not outstanding.
King Crimson
1/5
It’s a 1 because it was way too long and ended up being very pointless. It was not good at all.
The Doors
3/5
Overall it’s alright but come on you don’t need to have the final song be 11 minutes cut it into separate songs
Kraftwerk
2/5
I’m not fluent in German which it being in German did not make me angry instead the long songs were a bit painful to listen to.
Madonna
4/5
It was her voice that lifted it up to a 4 because it was decent in general

4/5
Surprisingly good didn’t know a lot about them but the lead singer had a solid voice
Iron Maiden
3/5
I’m not a big metal guy but some of the songs were tolerable

The Killers
5/5

As a mediocre/not professional pianist I could do here than this crap

Surprisingly good. In general, I’m not a big fan of his voice but it was decent on this album
Everything But The Girl
2/5
Waste of time and in general not good

3/5
I’m not a big fan of him but he did a good enough job to stay at a 3

4/5
It might not be their best but it is still really good
Sonic Youth
3/5
Didn’t knock my socks off but decent
Japan
2/5
It felt too repetitive
The Pharcyde
2/5
I would say possibly a 1.5. The language was understandable considering it was a rap/hip hop but the lyrics just didn’t seem to work or be decent in general
Creedence Clearwater Revival
5/5
Solid from top to bottom. It was certainly better than other 70s music and the songs are good enough to be played also as a side note

1/5
Yeah no beating up pregnant women just ain’t right
Santana
4/5

Eagles
4/5
All I can think of is the Seinfeld episode that has Witchy Woman in it

The Offspring

I can be tolerable of cursing when it’s occasional but due to the amount of cursing everything lost its meaning. Using same words over and over again didn’t make the album better
