So I’m glad I waited to listen to this lol so I can actually appreciate it. Do all the songs blend together tune wise? Yes. But his voice is energetic and passionate. It sounds like they’re giving everything to this album and I love it.

This is like Captain beefheart but more mainstream? It gets more experimental and unhinged as the album progresses. While this album was probably way ahead of its time, my ears are not huge fans.

Surprise of the year for me. I loved this. Obviously I was obligated to like “American idiot” as a “misunderstood” eighth grader trying to play into a narrative of being cool. But I think this is where this album goes for me. It’s very long and a bit pretentious. But there are some beautiful moments that I enjoyed.

What a poignant album to get on Wednesday with the US staring down another trump presidency. Many more will have to suffer. Don’t ask me why. The one Marley album that will not remind me not to worry and be happy. Despite the depression and this kinda adding to the melancholy of the day, this is an astounding album. Adds so much interest to a genre I normally find a bit one tone.
