Feb 06 2025

Quite an interesting and peculiar album, not necessarily nice to listen to, but I can tell that there is some ambition behind it. Also it is cool that albums like this could be done at all.

Elephant by The White Stripes
Feb 10 2025

Some really good songs especially Seven Nation Army and The Hardest Button to Button but there were also a couple of songs I didn't enjoy as much.

All Directions by The Temptations
Feb 11 2025

Pleasant funk but nothing special

Play by Moby
Feb 17 2025

I'm going to give Play by Moby a 4/5. I think it's a really good album, I was vibing while I was listening to it. It had some really good songs and I might be influenced by nostalgia but I was considering giving it a 5 for a while. It's not completely consistent though, there are a few times that are a bit boring tbh. Did enjoy it a lot though, listened to it two more times despite already knowing how I would taste it.

The Wall by Pink Floyd
Feb 18 2025

One of my absolute favourite albums ever!

I was at first a little bit unsure whether to give this a 4 or a 5 because it's a bit of an uneven album. There are songs that are absolutely amazing and then there are those I haven't even heard before. Finally I landed in giving it a 5 just by the fact that there are more great songs here than most artists have during their entire career.

xx by The xx
Feb 25 2025

xx by The xx is very comfy, it's something you put on and just want to bathe in. I have listened to it a couple of times now and it's all very nice. The only singular tracks that I can recall is Shelter, but that is because Birdy made a cover of it. That version is much more traditional in that it doesn't have that vibe of ambience surrounding it as the original does. Anyway I can only give it a 4 because I feel like it's missing an edge somewhere, that might make it better but it might also take away what makes it great.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Feb 26 2025
Queen II by Queen
Feb 27 2025

In getting strong rock opera vibe from this one and it keeps getting better the further on it goes. Then, at the end, there is an actual banga time in Seven Seas of Rhye that in a way crowns the album. Reminds me a lot of the Flash Gordon soundtrack they did later on because that one isn't a "singles" album either

Illmatic by Nas
Mar 10 2025

I understand that this album is held in high regard, but I don't understand it myself. Sure, it isn't bad but I think it's a bit boring.

Dirt by Alice In Chains

Smash by The Offspring

Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury by The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
Mar 21 2025

Feels more like political spoken word than rap. Not very relevant politics either so there is not that much value to it anymore, the style is also quite dated, but fine nonetheless . I do like "Television the Drug of the Nation" it's a good track.

Mar 26 2025

It was a pleasant listen, nothing really stuck with me though. Got different vibes, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jesus Chist Superstar and perhaps Uriah Heep (the flutes).

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
Mar 27 2025

There are a few good songs on this album but most are just weird little dittys. Didn't finish it though because one of the tracks made me feel physically ill.

Blur by Blur
Mar 31 2025

Blur by Blur has two big hits, Beetlebum and Song 2, but the rest of the album it pretty good too. Maybe they could have cut a couple of tracks from it and made it a bit more tight, but it's still really good altogether.

Marquee Moon by Television
Apr 08 2025

My first reaction to this was "oh, this is budget Talking Heads" but it turned out to be an enjoyable album. I especially liked the titular track Marquee Moon.

Revolver by Beatles
Apr 14 2025

This is a lovely album, it makes me happy. All the songs are good!

1999 by Prince
Apr 15 2025

A couple of good songs, a couple of ok ones but the rest just seems to be self indulgent jam sessions.

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Apr 16 2025

It's an alright, pretty pleasant album

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Apr 18 2025

Son of a Preacher Man is iconic of course, and The Windmills of the Mind is a good song too, but the rest of the songs don't really come close to that level. Nice in general... Nice but forgettable.

Boston by Boston
May 01 2025
Diamond Life by Sade
May 05 2025

Diamond Life by Sade was a very nice album, pleasant chill vibes. Made me think of smooth jazz or Bossa and had some of that 80s naivety about it. Only Smooth Operator stands out really, giving it a 3/5.

Smile by Brian Wilson
Jun 13 2025
Jun 27 2025

I think I'll give Piper At The Gates Of Dawn a 3/5. I really enjoyed Astronomy Domine, Interstellar Overdrive, The Gnome and Bike but the rest sort of mesh together in my mind

Giving Femi Kuti a 4, really liked the jazzy parts and the rhythms. Didn't listen that much to the lyrics, but I heard him singing about his dad Fela Kuti and his 27 wives.

Django Django by Django Django
Aug 17 2025

This is so repetitive!!!

Emperor Tomato Ketchup by Stereolab
Sep 01 2025

I didn't listen to Emperor Tomato Ketchup, I endured it! It was so long and repetitive, didn't enjoy any of it. I give myself a 5 for surviving this, and 1 to the album!

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Oct 31 2025

I didn't enjoy Primal Scream very much, the first song - Movin' on Up - is great, but the rest of the songs are quite different and not my jam at all.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Nov 01 2025
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Nov 23 2025

I can't give this album more than a 3. Yes, it has some very good songs on it, and I'm not only talking about the hits. The problem is partly that it is way too long, but also that it becomes a bit samey for me and the last few songs are so tired.

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
May 07 2026

A very boring album that is also easy too long. I can understand why his fans would like to have a live album too listen to, but it does not belong on the 1001 albums list. Even if not considering the controversies that has surrounded him, this album doesn't deserve more than a 1

In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
May 08 2026

A very nice and chill album, something to listen to in the wee small hours perhaps. I imagine a very late night, listening to this album on an old vinyl player, in a dark room, very much a vibe.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 09 2026

Nice and jazzy live album, Sarah Vaughn has a lovely voice. It seems like she has a good sense of humour as well.

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
